Executive dashboard vendors

I am looking for recommendations on "executive dashboard" software products that integrate with EP (besides BW).
We are looking to add more visually interesting controls to present data in some of our iviews, for an executive level portal. Standard tables and charts just don't seem to cut it.
I have found several (e.g. http://www.infomersion.com, http://www.businessobjects.com, http://www.cognos.com) but I am not sure what other companies are out there that I should look at. Pointers to the leaders in the field would be appreciated.

A Dashboard is a fancy name for a window with functionality that suits an executive.
The SDN itself can be considered as a dashboard.
The difference between an executive dashboard and the regular one would be that the executive would see some reports, see his approval tasks, and such in iviews that are configured for his role.
Bottom line is it is all Portal Content Development.

In your opinion, Apple, what is the best way to display Executive dashboards using the IPad?
Our company purchased IPads in hopes that they would be able to display the our Web-based Dashboards, but they cannot. The dashboards render fine in the Safari for PC, but in mobile safari they do not. Is there any way to change mobile Safari's user agent?

First, Apple will not respond here. We're all just fellow users participating in these forums.
As to your question, what exactly are these "dashboards"? What technology is used to generate them? If it's either Adobe Flash or Java, then they will not work from an iPad and quite likely never will. If they're being generated by standard HTML and JavaScript, then it's possible one of the other browsers, such as Mobile Opera, might work (though with Opera there may be security issues you'd have to investigate before you adopted that as a solution).
Without more detail as to the site(s) you're trying to access, it's difficult to offer more specific suggestions.

P6 Web - Executive Dashboard

Hey,
I'm having a problem with the informations on the Executive Dashboard, specifically on the Budget Variance.
The data in the column "Actual labor units" on the P6 Web its not the same as shown in P6 Project Management Client Server.
However, when I open the project on the field "Projects" of the P6 Web and I choose to show the same column, the data this time, its the same as in P6 Project Management Client Server, wich means is not the same one showed on the Dashboard.
What do I do to make these informations to be the same of the P6 Project Management Client Server on the dashboard?

MIH1. This should be posted in the P6 forum, not Contractor.
2. A license is required to login to P6, so if you need someone to be able to login, they need a license.
P6 Web licenses are pretty cheap, I'd recommend having one available for those who need view access and then assign it as needed to any users as required.

Error while executing dashboard....pls help

No authorization to execute Dashboard

Hi I have the next problem, when I execute UI WebClient and open dashboard the system send me the error (No authorization to execute The Interaction Center Dashboard).
Somebody know What is the problem?

Hi,
While creating a dashboard, there is a step to assign authorized employee, maybe you need to check this.
You may use role ANALYTICSPRO to search for the concerned dashboard, select it, and click on button
"Settings for Sharing" to check whether your user id has been set as Share.

I need to execute a vendor (for bulk vendor) report with following data/field, please suggest.

I tryed with FBL1N, FBL3N but I want a report in a simplest format.

Customer &Vendor ageing Report

HI,
While executing the vendor & Customer ageing Report, There is no way to give profit center in "dynamic selection button, but we have activated New gl accounting and document splitting , Is there any way to give profit center.
Pl. give me guide lines.

Hi,
The field profit center is not filled by vendor/customer line items, but only in the GL line items
With new GL activated, you will have an entry view and GL view of all documents
All standard reports like FBL1N, FBL5N etc are based on entry view and not based on the GL view.
For GL reports FAGLL03/FAGLB03 will help
Try to see if these programs help, else you will have to develop.

Vendor master Comparision

Hi All,
I have extracted the list of vendor codes from F.48 with selection parameter "Not created in Financial Accounting".
Now when i am running those list of vendor in LFB1 table, i am geting the company code.
As per my understanding "Not created in Financial Accounting" shold mean that the vendor masters arenot created at company code level.
Then why those vendor masters are showing with company codes in LFB1 table? Is my understanding right? How much can i rely on f.48 report?

I completely agree with you. And thats where my point lies.
(1) I have executed F.48 with the condition "Not created in Financial Accounting". So the data extracted should be of those vendor codes which are activated in certain Porg but not activated in any of the company codes.
(2) Now when i am checking those vendor masters in LFB1 then logically there should no data exsist. But strangly when i am executing those vendor master records (Extracted in Step 1 from F.48) in LFB1,it is showing that those vendor codes are activated in certain company codes.

LSMW - Vendor Master Details (Urgent)

Dear All,
I need to do a mass-update of email address in Vendor master. I tried the 'Standard Batch/Direct Input' but was unable to find the field for email id's.
I even tried the 'Batch Input Recording' process, but when i execute XK02 transaction during the recording process, i do not find the email address field.
If anyone has done this before, can you please guide me? or Alternatively is there any other way to do this mass-update?

If the email address field is not comming in XK02 then go to
SPRO>Logistics-General>Business Partner>Vendors>Control>Define Transaction dependent screen layout>Execute>Change Vendor (Purchaging)>double click on General data>double click on Communication>change the radio button which is against Internet Address.
Then when ever you are in XK02 then Internet field will appear.With this your problem may get solved.

Vendor Balance conformation

Hi Experts,
When executing the vendor balance confirmation through F.18 i am getting following error.
WRITE_FORM is invalid, START_FORM is missing
Message no. TD443
Diagnosis
The specified function was called although no form was activated beforehand using START_FORM.
System Response
The function is ignored.
Procedure
Before you can output forms using WRITE_FORM, you must open a form with OPEN_FORM or START_FORM.
There are two main causes for this error:
1. If you attempt to use a non-existing form, OPEN_FORM or START_FORM returns an exception (FORM). If the application does not respond to this exception and tries to continue printing, the system terminates.
Check in Customizing if the required from is defined for printing and whether it exists (transaction SE71, Form Painter).
2. The error can also occur if form printing was implicitly terminated. This happens if a page does not have any subsequent page although additional data is to be printed.
Check if all pages of your form have a subsequent page. In many cases, this entry is missing. The error then occurs if other pages are to be printed.

Printing terminates with the error message "WRITE_FORM is not allowed because START_FORM is missing".
Kindly refer the Note 118494, i hope u r issue will resolve with this note.

Execute button Not appearing in SWI1 Log

Hi all,
We are executing a Vendor Workflow i.e is when ever a vendor is created a workflow is triggered and mail is sent for approval.
There is 2 z tables for agent assignment. It is maintained.
After creating vendor we can approve it through a mail
or we can go to Swi1 click the log of that task and inside the log we have a tab Activities.
in the activities tab we should get buttons Execute,Reject,Create.
But now we are not getting those buttons inside the log activities tab.
We verified all the role tables but i dont know wy its not appearing.
Pls experts help me out with suggestion,

it looks like your transaction is marked as Easy Web Transaction.
go to transaction SE93 , enter your transaction and change the radiobutton selection from Easy Web transaction to Professional user transaction and save it.
run it again, now you can execute from menu->program->execute

Vendor Mass Maintenance

Hi,
I would like to do Mass Maintenance for 2000 vendors in my Client's system. I have to update the Telephone number field of General Data in Vendor Master.
These vendors are created for different Company codes and a Single Purchasing Organization.
I believe we can do Vendor Mass Maintenance through the Transaction code XK99 in standard SAP.
Can anyone please provide me the steps for executing the Vendor Mass Maintennace.
Its a High a Priority issue, and would be glad if I can get an immediate reply.

HI,
the vendor mass maintenance is very useful for maintaining large numbers of vendors with the same data.
So if you are adding the same telephone number to every vendor then this is easy and can be done in seconds, but what you want (I believe) is to maintain different data (i.e. phone numbers) against each vendor.
To do this you should use LSMW or CATs scripts or similar, that way you can use a spreadsheet with the numbers and get the program to populate them correctly, with one run of the program, automatically.

OBIEE Dashboard URL is navigating to a different path than specified

I have been using the Dashboard URL for some time now at a client with no problems. All of the sudden, something started happening that I am having trouble reproducing. I am essentially relying on SSO to authenticate the user, so I do not have the need to pass the username/password through the query string. All I am passing is this:
http://foobar/analytics/saw.dll?PortalPages&PortalPath=/shared/Real Estate Reporting/_portal/REPORTS: Financial Reporting UAT/&Page=DR - 3&Action=Navigate
All of the sudden, I started noticing an error:
Path not found: /shared/Reporting Samples/_portal/Exective Dashboard/blah/blah
I do not understand why the Dashboard URL is trying to traverse down the path above when it has nothing in the link referencing Reporting Samples or Executive Dashboard. Another quirk is if I navigate through the UI to the correct dashboard and then try and use the Dashboard URL, it will navigate to it just fine. Once I am able to get the Dashboard URL to work properly, it works for about 1 day, and then when I come into work in the morning, I get the Path not found error again.
Does anyone have any insight into this? Again, it is completely random, and I wish I had more information on reproducing this issue, but I am having trouble pin pointing the problem.

It was built from a blank catalog.
One thing is that the folder that contains all the dashboards that I am trying to point to is owned by a user (and this user is not me, it is the BI Developer). I am doing portal development and accessing OBIEE through web services. So essentially, I am traversing the web catalog and getting report paths so that I can build a dynamic Report List Portlet. This all works great, and the report paths are accessed fine.
The problem arises when the browser actually tries to access the Dashboard through this URL (from an html <a> tag), it occasionally navigates to a completely different path (the one I mentioned above). Should I try setting my user as the owner of the web catalog folder? I am just hesitant to do that since I have full admin access to all the dashboards, and it doesn't seem like this would make a difference. Eventually, the web catalog folder will be owned by a service account.
Thoughts?
