When I check to see if my plugins are updated, this one is listed as an unknown plugin. Researching doesn't really seem to tell me exactly what this plugin is, why I have it or how to update it.

It means that you played an online game.
The plug-in will automayically update it self upon demand.
If you wish to remove it ismply uninstall Free Ride Games Player or GameTreat player from the Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

You can view the purchase history on your account : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. I am trying to download Adobe reader latest version and when I hit download a bar appears at the top of the screen telling me to install missing plugins but firefox states plugins up to date what can I do?

I am unable to download Adobe reader to update my system as I only have version 7 on my computer. Normally I would be able to download direct from Adobe and my system would update but when I try to download a message bar appears which states on the left hand side "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" and on the right hand side there is a button which states "install missing plugins". When I click on the button a dialog box appears which states "no suitable plugins where found with a message next to a manual install button "unknown plugin(application/getplusplusadobe16299)

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:

Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Does Mozilla's Plugin Checker not read Safari plugins correctly? My Plugins are all up to date and it still says "update."

I'm wondering if it is how Safari does not list the entire version in it's plugin page, such as 11.6.0 instead of 11.6.0.r.626.
Also I have Looked in the plugins file for Safari and turned on the extension to show invisible extensions and it shows this:

Flash Player.plugin 10.3 r181.34
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled just to see if that was the problem.

When you run the plugin check, you should get a column with the full version number (here's Flash, for example, in the attached screen shot).
As for finding Safari plugins, I don't know how it works on MacOS; on Windows, Firefox will scan certain locations outside of its folders to pick up plugins that are not Firefox-specific. The plugin checker then will use the information that Firefox has gathered.

Previous versions of Firefox were only 32 bit, Firefox 4 for the Mac contains 32 and 64 bit versions. If you want to always start Firefox in 32 bit mode, open up Finder and go to the Applications folder. Control-click the Firefox app and click "Get Info", then select the "Open in 32-bit mode" option.

Someone recently noted a problem staying logged on the Huffington Post since it became connected with AOL. The workaround for that is to change your connection setting here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network
Click the "Settings" button and choose either "No Proxy" or "Use System Settings" option, and OK the change.
Not sure whether Washington Post could be affected by that same setting.
In reviewing your extensions, I'm puzzled that you have both DoNotTrackMe and SavvyConnect. The first one seems to aggressively block certain communications with websites (potentially affecting functionality) while the second one seems to report on your browsing habits (they better pay well is all I can say). Have you tried disabling both of those to see whether that has any effect?

Does anyone at Mozilla care that this bug has been out here for over 8 months without a resolution. I am in the final throws of a release and code added in the last sprint to add some error handling is now requiring another sprint to fix the bugs that are being generated as a result of Firefox mishandling of the MEssageBox.Show.
It is also interesting that searching for "Messagebox" from the Mozilla search function on this website return zero results. Amazing that I can read this message but I cannot find it using text in the thread.

Load Akamai plugin example using Static plugin loading method

I want to load Akamai plugin example using Static plugin loading method. For that, I passed "com.akamai.osmf.AkamaiBasicStreamingPluginInfo" as a class defination, but I got error stating, ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable AkamaiBasicStreamingPluginInfo is not defined.
Makjosh once sent a post that the title was "Getting an error while loading the plugin using static plugin load method". I then follow the solution. But how can I add the dependent project(Flex/AS Build Path -> Library Path -> Add Project). As a result, I do not find the AkamaiBasicStreamingPlugin project only having the NetMocker project and the StrobeUnit project in it.
So I try to link the AkamaiBasicStreamingPlugin project use the following method(project properties->Project References->select "AkamaiBasicStreamingPlugin"), it still causes the same error.
Please help me.

Hi,
A couple of things to look at:
1) Make sure you have the import statement in your project:
            import com.akamai.osmf.AkamaiBasicStreamingPluginInfo;
2) Make sure you add the AkamaiBasicStreamingPlugin folder to your Flex Build Path (right click project, select "properties", then "Flex Build Path", in "Source Path" you need to add the plugin folder).
3) If you are still getting Error #1065, you can try a trick where you force the swf compiler to pull in the class:
            private static const loadTestRef:AkamaiBasicStreamingPluginInfo = null;
Now you should be able to use getDefinitionByName to load the plugin:

                var pluginInfoRef:Class = flash.utils.getDefinitionByName(className) as Class;
                pluginResource = new PluginClassResource(pluginInfoRef);
                pluginManager.addEventListener(PluginLoadEvent.PLUGIN_LOADED, onPluginLoaded);
                pluginManager.addEventListener(PluginLoadEvent.PLUGIN_LOAD_FAILED, onPluginLoadFailed);
                pluginManager.loadPlugin(pluginResource);
