EXIF problems - Camera Owner

Hello,
I've the problem that after installing and the import of my photos Aperture showed in the extended EXIF the camera owner.
Meanwhile these informations are lost - the EXIF field is empty. But when I look into the EXIF data with an external EXIF viewer the owner field is not empty. And also at all imported photos (respective their original files) I can find the owner details with the EXIF Viewer.
When I import new pictures the EXIF camera owner field is empty, even if the original files still have this information.
I already reinstalled the Mac OS X 10.5.1 and Aperture as well but the EXIF data about the Camera Owner is still missing.
Can you please help?

Yes, the same problem occured by a friend who imported photos and the owner name showed up. After a while the owner name was not displayed anymore. Strange behaviour. I already reported this to Apple on the Aperture Feedback Site but I didn't got a response would be nice to hear something like yes we could reproduce and try to fix or something like that....

Changing Camera Owner Name In EOS 5D

I need to change the owner name in my faithful EOS 5D. As I understand it, this can only be done with the Canon EOS Utility. (Changing the camera owner name allows me to add the author name, also, in the event an image is processed without adding all of the valuable metadata.)
I'm currently using EOS Utility version 2.13.10. I CAN see my EOS 5D MKII camera with no problem, and I can edit the camera owner information.
Unfortunately, I can't see my 5D in the EOS Utility. I'm using a Mac Book Pro, running OS 10.6.8.
I can, however, shoot tethered in Capture One, but not Adobe Lightroom. We're all aware of the many combinations of cameras and software applications and their compatibilities - I've been chasing this for years.
So...does EOS Utility version 2.13.10 NOT work with a Canon EOS 5D? Do I have to revert to an earlier version to make this work?

Go buy yourself a iPhone 5. Sync your iPhone 3GS to iTunes on you computer so you have a back up ready to put on the iPhone 5. If you want you can update your iPhone 3GS with iTunes on your computer, but this is not necessary.

I have gone through an upgradation project, which upgrades from lower version to higher version, there are some problem we could find and here are they:
1) There were some syntax errors for the variables.
sloution) we should relate them with new version variables and change them.
2) There were some FM to be changed according to the version
3) There were change in BDC also if the objects having BDC then we have to check whether it is functioning well or not, or the best way is to replace the BDC with BAPI, which is independent of version change, so further no problems if at all the version changes.
Is this information ok..this is what we did for that.

Where is your Library stored?

Firefox loads, but wont load any web pages. tabs say "untitled". page is blank below. uninstaled and reinstaled no change. problem came after recent update. any help?

Problem solved from prior post. Firefox had become blocked somehow by McAfee firewall. Set to full access. Now works perfectly.

A big problem: camera roll doesn't work

I cannot use the default "camera" to take photo. When I press the "taking photo" button or "volume + " button, the "camera" app would turn off and as a result return to the background.
I cannot really delete the photos in the camera roll as well. When I delete a photo in camera roll, it temporarily can. But when I close the "camera roll" and open again, the deleted photo appears again.
I cannot use ("power button" + "home button") to capture the screen as the screen picture captured will not appear in the camera roll.
I tried to turn the phone off and turn it on again, but the problem is still there.
In the "setting" --> "General" --> "About my phone", under "video" and "photo" categories, Normally, they would display the numbers which states respectively how many videos and photos that I have in my camera roll. But now they both display "2,147,483,647".
Before, I have connected the phone to the computer using USB wire in order to import the photos from the phone to the computer. I don't know whether this caused the problem.
How can I fix it? Please help.
Can restoration help? I used iCould to backup. Can I restore all the data and setting, including all the data in all the apps ?

Your Camera Roll is corrupted. I don't know why or how, but if you can't delete any photos from it and it doesn't import photos via the cable about the only thing you can do is restore the phone.

Creative cloud License problem / Camera raw problem / Linked ?

I have bought a CC 1 year licence.
Quite every time I start Photoshop CS 6 it says that the CC trial period has expired (I installed CS6 premium from trial a few days before CC was activated)
It ask to connect oline to activate - then it activate properly but again next time I open ask for activation.But if I am not online it's not working !!!!
Each time i try to use camera Raw from bridge (command + R ) it says that a proper software needs to be activated before so I can't do batch processing but if I try to open one raw image in photoshop from bridge it opens camera Raw then opens properly in Photoshop CS6.
Is there a link between the two problem ?? why ask for activation every time ? how to use Camera Raw ? How to work ofline????

Two MacBook Problems - Camera and Startup

Alright, I just got my MacBook recently, and I have two minor problems.
1) The camera. I open PhotoBooth, and it just shows a green screen. I used to be able to take pictures, but now all it does it show a green screen. And the green status light by the lens on the screen is on, and it won't turn off.
2) Slowness. Not majorly slow, it's just not going as fast as it did when I first got it, which was about four days ago. Startup is a bit slow, as is running programs. Can I do anything to resolve this?

and for the slowness try this applications>utilities> disk utility> select ur hd (not the first one the bottom one) and verify disk permissions and repair them if neccessary

Can anyone help with iPad problem- Camera roll?

When I take a photo on my iphone, the photo goes into my photo stream and appears on my shared mac camera roll but does not appear on my ipad camera roll. However the photo does appear when you click from albums to photos. Not sure what has happened it use to go into camera roll all other devises ie iphone, ipad and mac laptop. I have gone into setting and all is ticked correclty. Can someone help please.

In many ways, I don't think IOS 7 improved the experience with Photo app but it is what it is. I shoot both with my Iphone and with a camera using an SD card and upload with the CC to the Ipad, so i have two different issues with Camera roll.
By experimentation I have found that a jpeg file MUST be in Camera Roll on the Ipad to be considered 'saved' and backed up in Icloud. Photostream will bring your jpeg photo from the Iphone to the Ipad but it is NOT YET in your camera roll. To have that done, by simply putting it in an album it is placed in Camera Roll. That's the simple thing to do. If you process it in a 3rd party app like Snapseed it will save back to your Camera Roll, so doing either of these two things places that file in Camera Roll, but no where do you get this information unfortunately.
For those using an SD card to import a RAW file, you need to process in a third party app, save to photo app--generally the default is as jpeg, and it will appear in the Camera Roll. I don't shoot with my camera in jpegs so can't describe that but I'm rather assuming that if you select the file, save to an album, that it will appear in the Camera Roll. A word to the wise--if you are importing raw files to the Ipad and processing them you will end up with two photos in the "photos", the raw and the jpeg. To cut down on storage, delete the raw which is the one to the right of the processed jpeg file. I do wish Photoapp would give us some EXIF data on shots but if it isn't apparent which is which, I've determined (by using apps that show the EXIF) the processed jpeg that you ordinarily wish to keep on the Ipad is always to the left of the raw, or 'first' in the photo mode
Another way to move from iphone to Ipad, especially video (which doesn't Photostream), is to use Air Drop and the file will automatically go into Camera Roll.
Hope this helps. I've had to explain this to my husband also and show him by demoing so I've been down this path before LOL.

Download problem - camera raw 7.1 beta

Trying to install camera raw 7.1 beta, got message saying Update Failed; Application Manager may be damaged. Download and install a new copy of Application Manager. Did that, but still get the same Update Failed message. What to do?

Actually I am going to have a rant instead.
After having no end of issues with elements 10 and opening RAF files from my fuji HS30 it finally updated, and I can open them.
However I find elements10 to be limited so I decided to trial CS6 prior to purchasing.
Installed and it won't open my RAF files, so I downloaded the 7.1 RC, same problem as the OP.
At the best of times getting any support from adobe is a long winded complicated nightmare, and to be honest is woeful considering the amount of money they charge for their products.
Photomatix, no issues, opens RAF files straight out of the box, Paintshop pro X4, again no issues I can work directly with my RAF files. adobe, issue after issue after issue.
Fed up with it now, I will just uninstall CS6 and go buy the full version of paintshop, adobe's loss, not mine

Weird Problem Came Up Today. Don't know what to do!

I've been using my MacBook for just under a week now without any problems whatsoever.
However, today, I was surfing the web with no external devices attached and the computer suddenly turned off with no warning. I turned the power back on and while the Apple logo was being displayed, it shut off again. I turned it back on and it worked fine for the rest of the time I used it at that point.
Tonite, I had loaded a bunch of music files onto a USB drive to transfer some of them over to my new MacBook and halfway through the transfer, the same thing happened. After THAT restart, the files transferred without any issue.
I called the tech support line and we ran through the software and hardware check and absolutely nothing came up. I have CoreDuoTemp installed and my temperature is just fine so I know it has nothing to do with overheating. It hasn't happened since. I'm starting to get a little worried because I read a topic about this happening to someone else.
The only things I did out of the norm yesterday was finally having a chance to caliberate my battery, used my CD/DVD drive for the first time, and adjusted my sleep settings. I have the Black MacBook upgraded with 1 gb of RAM.
It's also worth noting that I did not receive any error messages about my system being shut down improperly.
I'd rather not have to send this in to get serviced already.

yes, the slow movement to 100% is pretty common. The battery gauges on these things are never really completely accurate anyway, and the charging process is actually designed to avoid the computer continuously trying to top up the last few percent.
What will often happen , in fact, is that the computer will charge to 100%, then stop charging and the charge level will drop back a little and stay that way for quite a while, before it kicks in again. This is deliberate. It prevents the battery from being continuously charged. Lithium batteries can only handle a finite number of rechargeing episodes and if it didn't do this then the constant "top up" process would cause the battery to fail much faster, as the "cycles" available would be continuously being used up.
As far as the error message goes, you should get it most of the time, especially if you "force" a shutdown by holding down the power switch, but whether it will appear when other problems occur is less consistent.
If I suffered your problem again then my next step would be to first:
a) "Zap the PRAM" (shut down , hold down the apple option p r keys while starting up. Keep the keys pressed until the chimes have sounded at least three times)
and if that didn't fix it
b) reset the PMU - see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319
If that didn't fix it either, then I'd be following Kappy's suggestion and heading for the repair shop. Macs generally don't do things like this unless something is wrong!

Built-in iSight problems-"camera in use by another application" but its NOT

I am having an issue with my iMac G5 2.1GHz with iSight built in.
I tried to iChat AV tonight after months of not using it. When I opened my own video window it says "Your camera is in use by another application."
There are no other applications open in the dock other than Finder.
Same results with Photobooth. The message reads -- Photo Booth cannot open because the camera is in use by another applicaton. Close the application using the camera, then try opening Photo Booth again. < OK >
I searched this forum and tried the following:
• zap PRAM
• reset SMU
• reset NVRAM
I looked for iSight prefs, but couldn't find anything. Deleting prefs is the only thing I have not tried, but I do not know what to delete.
Also, the camera shows up under USB under system profiler. The IR remote also shows up on the same bus, and the remote works just fine.
The green light next to the iSight is never on.
I switched to another user and experience the same problems, so it does not seem to be user settings.
Any help to get my computer to recognize my iSight would be appreciated!

Thanks for the note. I saw that Apple KB article #93216 that basically tells you not to have any other applications running that use the camera, which I do not. Also, I have Classic installed, but it is not running as I hardly ever use it.
Since my original post last night I have tried several more things, with absolutely zero success.
One unique thing that I thought would work (and it sort of did) was to add Photobooth to my Startup Items under the Accounts tab of System Preferences. Unlike iChat AV, Photobooth will not even open if the built-in iSight is not available. So, I thought, let's see if Photobooth will open at Startup and perhaps take over the camera before whatever is taking it over has a chance to do that.
Sure enough, this trick worked, although the video screen was blank. On a second time the video screen showed erratic thick lines like it was starting to pass the video data through and then was stopped. Again, my iSight is recognized by Apple System Profiler, so the computer knows it is there and is getting power, etc. As soon as I quit Photobooth and tried to reopen it, I received the message again that the camera was in use by another application.
My next steps, when I am able, are to try to boot off an external firewire hard drive that should have an older saved backup of my system, from when the camera was working. I will also download the combo updater as you suggest, MGW, and apply that as I understand that to be a sort of remedy for any number of problems.
To me it appears to be a software issue. I would imagine with the OS and not related to any application in particular. (iPhoto cannot access the iSight, can it? For some reason my iPhoto opens automatically on my G5 iMac every time I boot it up, and I cannot figure out why. I will look into this issue and see if it is related.)

Problem changing owner details

I've just started using a BlackBerry Pearl which still has the previous owner's details entered (name and phone number) which show up when the keyguard is activated. I have tried to change the details in Options/Owner but it won't let me. Any ideas?
The other problem is when I'm writing an e-mail or e-mail address it keeps coming up with some kind of predictive text/auto write which I find really annoying. I can't find any way to switch this off...can anyone help?

It seems that there is an issue with the database. Due to some reason, the database has got inconsistency regadring the invoice.
You need to open a Support ticket on SAP partner portal and make sure you update the message with all the details relevant regarding the issue in order to have the investigation done.
