Existing Office365 Tenancy STANDALONE - moving to hybrid...

Hi guys,
We have Exchange 2013 on premise, working fine, serving users with our main domain. (domain.com)
We also have a separate Office365 tenancy, with a subset of users that have a subdomain (sub.domain.com). These users logon to Office365 with credentials stored on just Office365 - they are not federated with our on-premise Exchange / AD.
We are now looking at merging these two environment e.g. moving to a true Hybrid, with the goal being that the users we have on Office365 can have our primary domain as an email address (domain.com) as well as their current subdomain address.
There doesn't seem to be much online about this - it's a slightly unusual situation... If I was to implement the usual plan of ADFS and DirSync and integrate our on-prem, what happens to the existing accounts on Office365? Would they stay as authenticating
as they are - e.g. against the current MS accounts? If so can I move them so they are authenticated using an AD user object via federation? How would one do this? Would this just "magically" happen if there is a matching AD user object, could I match
the account using the GUI or would I need to run a PowerShell command?

Help airport express won't connect to existing network

Hi,
I have a simple setup. I have a Netcom wireless router/modem/VoiP and a Macbook.
A few months ago I got a airport express so I could play itunes on the stereo.
I set it up fine adding the AEX to the existing network. I moved house and the net was off for 3 weeks so I reset to AEX as a standalone network so I could still play itunes.
Now the net is back on I cant get the AEX to connect to the existing network again. When I set up the AEX it updates the info but, then when it resets, the Macbook just can't find it anymore. Nothing I can do will make the macbook find it except doing the hard reset (paperclip in the side) and then of course I am back to stage 1.
I am sure I have the network password correct (WEP) and I have tried all forms of resets - please someone help!

I am having a similar problem using my new Airport Extreme. Got one express working for a printer, but second one (to play I-tunes) sets up, but then gives error message "Unable to find base station after restarting." Have done repeated re-sets.

How to move from EOP to Hybrid Office 365 configuration?

I have a customer that just completed their transition from FOPE to EOP. Everything is working, but the customer would like to move all Exchange 2010 mailboxes to Exchange Online. They already have licenses, and have more than 2000 seats. A
cutover migration is not possible, so a hybrid migration is my only choice. I have been unable to find any documentation on this scenario (EOP-to-Hybrid).
Does anyone have any references or documentation that points to the correct steps to make this transition? Some blogs indicate that the only way to make this work is to point the MX record elsewhere, remove the existing EOP connectors, and have the
Hybrid configuration wizard re-create them.

I would recommend you to open up a ticket with Microsoft for a hassle free migration from Exchange 2013 to O365
But for migration from Notes to o365 we need some kind of third party softwares like Quest Tools to throttle the process quickly and also you need to set few throttling policies in Exchange end as well inorder to integrated well with Microsoft Cloud
during Migration process. Its better you can open up a ticket with Microsoft and Quest for planning the migration acording do your needs and proceed.

4000-5000 ms delays when accessing Office365 voicemail

A couple of our customers recently moved their voicemail from an on-premise Exchange server to a cloud-based solution with Office365. Afterwards, users are reporting delays of around 5-seconds from the time the Messages button is pressed to when they hear audio from Office365. Before moving voicemail to Office365, there were no noticeable delays after pressing the Messages button.
Both customers have very similar topologies - CUCM 9.1.2, and an Audiocodes Mediant 1000 SBC (Session Border Controller). CUCM has a SIP trunk to the Audiocodes SBC, and the SBC has a SIP trunk with TLS for the connection to Office365. According to Microsoft, this is a supported configuration.
When reviewing SIP logs on the Audiocodes SBC, I see an approximately 5-second delay from initiation of the call (SIP/2.0 100 Trying) to when Office365 answers (SIP/2.0 180 Ringing). In the logs below, 10.77.162.16 is the Audiocodes SBC's internal IP address, and X.X.X.X is it's public address.

Moving Podcast to new website

This is probably a really basic question, but I just want to make sure I'm doing it right! I use Wordpress and Podpress to submit my podcast to iTunes, but I am moving the hosting site. How do I notify iTunes of this change? There is an iTunes:New-Feed-Url box in Podpress - do I complete this in the old feed with details of the new one? Or just complete it in the new one? And if it's just the new one, how do iTunes know that it is the same podcast? I'm really struggling to get any sense out of Podpress help guide, so hoping you guys can help!

I can't advise specifically on PodPress. The process is that you add the URL of the new feed in the 'itune:new-feed-url' tag in the old feed - this means that you have to have the new feed up and running first, and then add the tag to the old feed. You need to upload the amended old feed and leave it there for around two weeks.
New subscribers will subscribe to the new feed immediately: existing subscribers will be moved to it the next time their iTunes application checks the feed (and won't even notice the difference). The iTunes Store will probably take a couple of days or so to notice the change and will from then read the new feed, maintaining your reviews and rankings but showing any changed that are in the new feed.
After a couple of weeks you can remove the old feed (this period is just to make sure all existing subscribers have had a chance to check and update the feed).
So in Podpress you add the tag to the old feed, It doesn't matter if it gets added to the new feed as well, it won't have any effect.

FDM Standalone server

Hi, i wanna ask if FDM can exist in a standalone server, and HFM and Shared Services in another service.
At first i try to install all 64-bit HFM and FDM into one server, then, i got an error stating, HFM 64-bit can't coexist with FDM 32-bit.
Need some insight on this.

Record Working time as a standalone system

Dear all,
we have a requirement of recording working times of employees through Portal (ESS) and approve working time. i checked the CATS (Configure ESS for Time Entry) and our requirement is similar to it but in CATS i read " after its approved it is transferred/updated to HR systems". we dont want to update any existing systems (HR/MM/PS) the data should exist as a standalone and report will be generated on periodic basis without effecting any other systems. is there any possibility in CATS or ESS to achieve this.

CATS is standalone system!
If you dont want to update HR system just dont schedule CAT6 or Rptextpt and ensure CATS profile in CAC1 doenst have immediate transfer to HR checked!
Thats it! Data will remain in CATS alone only ie CATSDB, if you need to transfer we use transfer reports or CAC1 customisation!

Exchange 2013 Hybrid setup & DNS

Greetings! We currently have an Exchange 2010 on prem environment and I have been tasked with getting us into a hybrid state with O365. We already have the tenet portions set up, AD Sync working, etc. My initial thought was to just use
our existing Exchange 2010 servers for the hybrid role, however, upon research it appears that standing up new Exchange 2013 servers specifically as hybrid servers is the suggested route.
My main goal is to do this hybrid deployment with as little impact and change to our environment (and thus user impact) as possible. From what I have read, I will have to change the autodiscover and ews records to point to the new Exchange 2013 servers.
Is it also the case that I will have to redirect OWA to the Exchange 2013 servers? Is there any way to deploy Exchange 2013 hybrid servers in a way that I do not have to change owa, autodiscover, etc?

Based on my knowledge, we didn't need to install Exchange 2013 to perform routing.
We can just deploy an Exchange 2010-based Hybrid Deployments.
Please make sure the Exchange 2010 upgrade to SP3.

CA web enrollment page is not shown in windows server 2008 R2 Datacenter edition

hi friends
on a windows server 2008 R2 Datacenter, i have installed ADCS (including web enrollment), & every thing is ok.
but when i connect to CA web enrollment page to request a certificate for my web server, when i select advanced certificate request, system doesn't show the page which we select which register our name & specification & we select which certificate
template do we want. instead it shows the page
in windows 2008 R2 enterprise edition this problem doesn't exist. also in standalone CA web enrollment page this problem doesn't exist.

Users in new OU in Active Directory have to enter credentials when accessing SharePoint Foundation 2013

Hi,
We have a SharePoint farm consisting of one web front end server and one database server, running SharePoint Foundation 2013. This farm has been up and running for over a year and uses AD for authentication, and SharePoint groups for authorization.
The problem we are seeing is when we create a new Organizational Unit in AD, and add users under this new OU they are prompted for their credentials when trying to access SharePoint. We've done the below tests to narrow the issue down:
1) New user (xxx) in new OU (111) logs into Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for their credentials. They are required to enter their username as 'domain\username' to be able to log in successfully to SharePoint.
2) Existing user (yyy), in existing OU (222) logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are NOT prompted for their credentials and get into SharePoint successfully.
3) Existing user (yyy) is moved into new OU (111), logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for credentials and need to use 'domain\username' to log in to SharePoint
4) Existing user (yyy) is moved out of new OU (111) and back into their old OU (222), logs into same Windows PC and tries to access SharePoint via IE 10 -- they are prompted for credentials and need to use 'domain\username' to log in to SharePoint
Note: both the new OU (111) and old OU (222) are within the same parent OU.
1 & 2 combined tell me that it's not a PC or IE issue. We've also tried 1 & 2 on multiple PCs so that would eliminate a profile issue as well.
To me it seems that SharePoint doesn't know that the new OU is in our domain, so it doesn't think the users within the new OU are in our domain, which is why they have to supply the domain with their username when logging in...but I'm not exactly an expert
when it comes to AD so this is just a guess on my part.
As a long shot, what I thought may fix it would be by syncing AD with SharePoint by using User Profile Synchronization, but it's not offered as part of SharePoint Foundation, so I used this nice solution at CodePlex (https://foundationsync.codeplex.com/),
but that did not fix it.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Or what the issue may be?

I feel very stupid right now -- I did look at this before posting this question to the forum, but it seems I didn't look far enough.
We have a GPO that enters our domain into the 'Local intranet' of IE. Our SharePoint site's URL is "http://sharepoint.ourdomain.com" and we've got "*.ourdomain.com" under Local intranet sites. But, I also found the FQDN "sharepoint.ourdomain.com"
under 'Trusted sites' and that seems to confuse SharePoint because once I moved the FQDN to Local intranet, and removed it from Trusted Sites, the user is now not prompted for their credentials when going into SharePoint.

EDIT: We've just removed the FQDN from Local intranet, so all we have is "*.ourdomain.com" under Local intranet and it works as well.

hello,the webelements library uses a feature of pass-through html available in xi & xir2. activating pass through html allows the report developer to embed html into a report so one can create custom html that would not work by formatting a field or text object to display as html.pass-through html will not render controls on pdf exports and will show up as regular text in pdf.you might have miscronstrued a portion of the demo where it was mentioned that one could get around pass-through html showing up as text in pdf...the workaround is to hide this text and does not render the actual web controls.jw

Cannot install iTunes on windows 7 64bit

Okay, I like so many cannot install iTunes on Windows 7 64bit.
Now Orginally I got a message saying something to the effect of:
There was a problem with the install you do not have permission for something...
Through some investigating my iTunes was being installed and removing all my permissions to view and/or modify files within that folder. Even if I was logged in as admin and installed as admin all the permissions would simply block me out.
This kind of had a familar feeling as in the last few versions of iTunes I had to run as admin just to open it (this is really annoying by the way)
So I searched the net and many people were saying to uninstall everything "Apple" and try again. So I did that. Now I have this new message:
there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
And again I scoured the internet for a way to fix this. I apparently am supposed to goto Control Pannel/Programs and Features and select Apple Software Update and select repair. The problem is that no longer exists in my programs list since I removed it in the earlier step. iTunes still refuses to install spitting out the same error forever. I tried the Microsoft "fix it" tool which is supposed to remove the Apple Software Update incomplete uninstall (which is apparently the whole problem) but it doesn't show up in the list for "fixing".
I am at a loss. Why doesn't Apple fix this. I cannot update my iPhone to the latest software in fear I may need to restore it. With no iTunes that is impossible. I cannot change any of my music or do anything until this is resolved. If/when iPhone 5 comes out I cannot get it either unless this issue is taken care of somhow.
I searched for an installer for just the Apple Software Update program But it seems to not exist as a standalone thing (it would be useful if it were though). If it were perhaps I could install it again and then successfully remove/repair it and iTunes might install finally.
Now I have had previous versions of iTunes working perfectly fine. I do not recall which version I was using before I tried to update and fell into this abyss however.

Yes b noir. I've tried running just "iTunes64.msi" from the command-line and while it didn't produce the same error "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vender." it produced a different error in bold-type "iTunes Installer Completed" then "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured...Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified...Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit". However, I discovered a wealth of options from the Windows Installer to try after typing "iTunes64.msi passive"...So I'll experiment some more when I have time.
P.S. I'm becoming more convinced that Apple is putting new software out there to get it debugged which was a trick that MicroSoft always seemed to do:-)
