Exit Buton in FPM for WD-ABAP

Hi,
I am trying to create an ESS application using FPM in WD-ABAP. It uses the GAF pattern.
How should I implement an Exit button which will terminate the application and navigate back to the Sub area page from where the application was started. (This is a standard behavior of all WD-Java iviews implementing FPM). We are using Home Page Framework.
Any pointers in this regard will be of great help.

Hi,
If you want to close the application, you can use the FPM predefined button 'CLOSE' which available in the editor. It will raise an event FPM_CLOSE which closes the application.
From my understanding, you would have navigated to the current application from the base application through external navigation where you are in new browser. so just closing the current application is suffice to go back to the base application.

Need expertice opinion on WebDynpro ABAP vs FPM for heavy custom apps

Hi Experts,
I have a lot of custom UI development,.for external users in SAP. Most of these applications can be simply developed using WebDynpro ABAP framework. If I do the same development using FPM framework I may need to do lot of reaseach espcially controling the UI behaviours like hiding, changing table cell colors based on the data, manipulating the UI behavior in the runtime, lot more like this.
The question I have is , which one is the right tool for my development FPM vs WebDynpro ABAP, what is the value in building the same apps in FPM rather then WebDynpro ABAP? If I develop these apps in WebDynpro ABAP does my client loose any new capabilities in he future releases? are any other drawbacks?
The challenge i see the FPM Feeder classses doesnt have lot of interfaces other then few like ( IF_FPM_GUIBB_FORM, IF_FPM_GUIBB_FORM_REPEATER,IF_FPM_GUIBB_LIST,IF_FPM_GUIBB_SEARCH,IF_FPM_GUIBB_TREE,IF_FPM_GUIBB_LAUNCHPAD )
to extend more custom UI functionalities, and the other thing I may need to invest lot of time in reseacrhing and analysing the framework events etc....Please can you shed some light on it and put me in right direction.

Hello Krishna,
the whole story revolves around reusability and abstraction, extensibility atleast in this context.
FPM offers more abstraction than Webdynpro. i am sure we all appreciate the standard webdynpro components for ALV, Value help, as this is something we could reuse and if we build our components that it manipulates itself with the help of configuration, customization and personalization.
So all the Standard SAP Dev could be enhanced (not modified) by simple, configuration, FPM is built around this concept.
So if you want to do custom development, which could be extended for your different customers with minimal efforts, you could go for FPM.
So here are some takeaways
1) FPM offers more abstraction than Webdynpro
2) FPM offers more reusability
3) Say manipulating the UI behaviour and say some customers wants view1 first and other doesnt want view 1 and wants only view 2. so in FPM you could simply do it with different configuration. and with Webdynpro, you need to manage this dynamically based on certain application parameter or you may end up copying certain comp,,or you use different usage,,,,and you could calibrate this.
Regarding limitation with FPM interfaces, could you explictly share what custom development you intend to do and in worst cases, you could always use freestyle UIBB,, which is webdynpro abap
in that scenario, atleast wiring, application config(app parameter, combination of webdynpro, with thier respective config),,could be reused.

Exit or Enhancement needed for transaction MM06

Hi all,
Can anyone help me in finding any user exit or BADI when we save the transaction MM06?. I have tried using exit handler, checked the package, but there is no exit/BADI. There is one BADI BADI_MM_SPSTOCK but it is not getting triggered when i save MM06.
Please help as soon as possible.

Make sure this is for only tcodes VA41 and VA42 because this wil trigger for sales order also.

User-Exit/Badi/Funtion Module for update Batch in transaction CORK

Hi Gurus,
when an IDoc 'Z' is executed to do a confirmation using the FM CO_RU_ORDER_CONFIRMATION, the values of transaction CORK are modified.
I'd like to update the field batch number so when you enter a process order in transaction CORK and then you click on Components, you'll see the list of component and the batch number updated throught the custom IDoc.
Does anyone knows any user-exit or Badi or maybe a FM to implement so when the first confirmation is done, the batch numbers are updated?

Issue in creating web service for a ABAP Function Module

Hi,
now i'm learning how to create web service for a ABAP Function Module. I used the following steps.
1. select the Function Module, named "zws_test".
2. in the context menu, select "create->proxy object". so we enter into wizard.
3. in the wizard, press the radio button "Service Provider".
4. in the next page, press the radio button "Existing ABAP Objects(Inside Out)".
5. In the next page, Enter the "zws_test_prvider" as Service Definition and select "Function Module" as Endpoint Type.
6. in the next page, enter "zws_test" as Function Module and mark the "Mapping der Namen" button
7. in the next page,select "PRF_DT_IF_SEC_LOW" as Profile and mark "Deploy Service".
8. Save in the local package.
9. then it will pop up a window with title "WSDL Source". i selected "URL/HTTP Destination" and press "OK".
10.in the next page, i enter the URL as "http://hostname:portnumber/", and press "OK".
11. then it will pop up a window with title "Display logs". A record with error message "HTTP error(return code 404, message "Not found")" appears.
12. i press "ok" and a service provider with name "zws_test_prvider" appears in my local package.
13. i use "zws_test_prvider"'s URL to create a service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER" and logic portal "LP1".
14. But when i test my service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER", it will throw an exception "cx_ai_system_fault" with errortext "SOAP:14 Unexpected element -el=definitions ns=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/".
15. I use t-code SM59 to test connection and get the following info.
      Status HTTP Response     200
      Status Text                      OK
      Duration Test Call             328 ms.
who can give me the reasons about item 11 and 14, and explain me how to create service provider and service consumer for a Function Module.

Hi All
I have set up a simple custom HCM process and Form regarding Infotype TO CREATE AND CHANGE POSITION. I have checked the process and form consistency and it seems fine. Now when I run the process from HRASR_DT it generates a process number but it also gives an error workflow could not start.I get following error (SWIA log - Step history)

PROCESS_NODE - Error when processing node '0000000014' (ParForEach index 000000)
CREATE - Error when creating a component of type 'Step'

CREATE_VIA_WFM - Exit CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT triggered exeception for event CREATED and (target) status
EVENT_RAISED - Error updating the process object

Points to be noted:
1) I have searched few SAP notes such as 1384961(Notes for 6.0.4) but our system is in higher level patch 6.0.5
2) WF-BATCH have SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL authorization.

did you try to debug this? maybe something is missing in config of P&F?
Since you are on 605, the following note would be there in your system....use it to debug:
1422496 - Debugging background workflow tasks in HCM P&F
This will help you find the root cause.

can anybody suggest me a user exit or a badi for checking the email id of the vendor in me21n or me22n or me29n.
i.e. a user exit or a BADI which gets hit either at the time of creation or release of a purchase order.

Have you looked BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST or user exits EXIT_SAPMM06E_016 / EXIT_SAPMM06E_017?

Internet explorer 9 support for WD ABAP?

SAP support for IE9 for Webdynpro ABAP exists already says notes 1496565 ja 1583947 with some exceptions like 64-bit version of IE9 is not supported. This happened around april-june this year according to release dates of those notes.
But I did not quite understood when reading those notes or PAM matrix, starting which SP level on which NW 7.x releases the IE9 support is available? Can you advice?
We have ECC 6 EHP3 with Netweaver 7.0. Which NW SP level we need install to achieve IE9 support on WD ABAP applications?
Maybe you would update the list in this thread for all NW releases and EHP's according to your information.

I just checked the PAM and IE 9 is supported from:
SAP NW 700 ->SP24
SAP NW 700 EhP1 ->Sp09
SAP NW 700 EhP2 ->Sp07
Just navigate to PAM-> Browser information for: SAP NETWEAVER 7.0, SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 and SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
