Exit Code: 7 - Unable to complete Silent workflow after installing AE CC update.

What can I do to fix this error. I am running windows 7 Home Premium with 16 GIG and about 4TB of free space.
I tried to update using the CC application manager and by clicking the "UPDATE" selection on the AS Help dropdown menu.
Same result
AE still works.

Photoshop CS5 Exit Code 7 Unable to get root from inChildPath

I downloaded the trial version 32 bit and 64 bit, to my desktop (Core I7 3.2 GHZ, 12Gb ram, Win XP Pro 64) and when installing, it doesn't get past 0%, just spits out this:
0 fatal errors, 1 error, 0 warning

I wanted to see if the install files were bad, some I copied to my craptop, which runs Vista 32 bit, and it works fine. Any word yet on what causes this error? Going to check and see if I missed any updates while I wait to see if anyone's had this issue.

Using your links, I can find Adobe's listing for error code 7, but all it tells me is that exit code 7 does not define my problem, but the lines that follow exit code 7 do. Which is the "unable to get root from inChildPath" bit. I might have missed something in your post, but when I poke around the links in the document, and in Adobe's troubleshooting search feature, I can't find anything about the terms "root from inChildPath".
Here's a recap of everything I tried yesterday, note that each error is exactly the same:
At the day's beginning, I had Adobe Master Suite CS4 installed, including PS CS4.
Without un-installing, I attempted to install Photoshop CS5 Trial > Got the error
Copied PS CS5 files to laptop, which also has Master Suite CS4 > Installed fine
Uninstalled Photoshop from Master Suite, then installed PS CS5 > Got the error
Tried to install only 64 bit > Got error
Did "Run As", signed in as admin > Got error
Booted into Safe Mode to install to see if a background process was conflicting > Got error
Reinstalled Master Suite for 6 hours and quit trying...

Hello, anytime i try to install CC, this error pops out. I think its the same when trying to install other apps, not just PS. Tried to uninstall, reinstall, reset, reinstall, clean windows temp manually. What should i do?

Long silent download after 9.3.2 update

I made an update of my Acrobat writer version 9. It wen( fine although it took wome time (about 10 min for download and 5 min for installation). HOWEVER, after the first reboot, I noticed a long silent download (no indication of what was going on, but I assumed it had to do with Acrobat because trying to check for update from within Acrobat made a message to appear telling me that the Update was already running). After about 20 min, the download stopped and a window appeared indicating that an update was being installed. This took about 5 min, and after a now reboot, evryting was fine.
Is this normal (i.e., an update that runs in tow successive "waves" with the second almost completly silent, and a total of more thha 30 min for the whole update...).

IPhoto orders photos using a SQLite database structure - much more up to date and much more powerful than an antique file based organization. If you do not want the organizational and search power of a SQL database then the answer is really simple. Do not use it and go back to your old fashioned methods. No one forces you to use iPhoto

Unable to boot Mac OS after 10.6.5 update

Just a question. Dont know whether its due to the 10.6.5 update. After reboot to windows. I can't log in To my Mac os anymore. It just get stuck at the grey apple logo and bar comes out and loads and it shuts down soon after. In windows when I log on it says that my Mac hdd is corrupted. Mount anyway or cancel.
Anyway my question is can I reformat my Mac hdd and reinstall SL without interfering with my windows partition (boot camp)

Use the Archive and Install, Mac OS X: About the Archive and Install feature, option to reinstall SL. This saves your Home folder. Also it saves your old Home/Library folder in a "Previous System" folder in case there are any preferences or support files of applications that require activation codes or S/Ns.
Repair disk permissions after the reinstall. Then apply the latest SL updater and repair permissions again.
After you're satisfied all is well you can delete that previous folder.

Unable to complete catalog backup after first DVD burned successfully

I am running elements 11 on Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center.
The first DVD of the backup is completed successfully. When I insert the 2nd DVD I get this message:
"An error occurred while writing the disc. It is recommended that you contact your disc drive manufacturer and upgrade tot he latest available firmware."
I checked all programs and hardware for updates. I tried the backup 3 times and used new Fiji discs each time, but got the same results and same message each time.

You don't have an RMAN issue.
You have a listener issue.
Fix your listener.
As part of the upgrade(s) you need to account for the listener. Go back and finish that part of the upgrade.

Unable to sync iPhone 6 after iOS 8.1 update

I recently updated my MaBook Air to OS X Yosemite and replaced my iPhone 4 with an iPhone 6. I backed up the old 4 and restored it onto the iPhone 6 no problem. Everything was working fine, no issues. A day or so later, iTunes prompted me to update to iOS 8.1 (from 8.02 which was on the phone when I bought it last week). After updating (again no issues), I find that the Health App no longer works (all previous data entries had gone, and when I come to add new data, it just freezes). Also, when I come to sync the phone with iTunes, I get to 6 of 7 steps and then it fails with error code 1723 unknown error. Becoming very annoying now, this has happened several times in the last few days...... grateful for any suggestions before I completely wipe the phone and have to start from scratch again....

Unable to PING VM Server after Install

Hi Guys
I am a typical WIndows guys, and new to Oracle /Linux etc.
However I am trying to setup a VM server, and finally got my head around the setup part of it, i.e the pieces to make the puzzle and how they all fit.
So I have just installed a fresh install of VM Server on raw iron ( blank server), and the installation has completed and said it was sucessful, however I set up my IP , DNS, host name etc manually, but after the installation I am unable to ping the VM Server, nor can I ping any pc in the network that its connected to.
Does anyone have any suggestions? As I dont want to go ahead and try install a virtual Oracle Linux Enterprise edition on it, if I cant get the networking side of it to work yet.
Anybody have any tips, suggestions? Learning I should have done before attempting this lol.

I checked the anaconda log, and it said that in debugging it was ignoring the NIC's as it siad " unknown device driverless" so I have to assume it doesnt have the drivers for the network card, so have posted another post on how to install a kernal, so that I can build the drivers :S.

Elements 11 - unable to switch editing modes after installing

Hi, I have just installed Photoshop Elements 11 on a Mac OSX 10.6.8 and I am unable to switch editing modes (quick / guided / expert). In fact, none of the buttons on the top bar responds to my clicks. In addition, I am unable to quit the programme, instead, I have to force quit it each time.

I restarted my computer. Closed Bridge CS5 that was running in the background and then clicked on Bridge CS6 and the program opened. I decided to take a chance to see if this won't fix it and was elated when it worked. Don't ask my why, but it did the job!

Unable to load OSX Tiger after powercut during software update

My Imac G5 (purchased September 2005), running OSX Tiger, was in the middle of a software update when we had a powercut. Now, when you turn it on, it gets as far as the blue screen with the grey Mac OSX box and status bar (after the grey screen with the spinning dial), but no further. The status bar does not move and I cannot get it to safe boot. If I hold down the shift key after the start up tone, then the fans come on and it takes a little longer to go past the initial grey screen, but once again stops when you get to the blue screen and status bar. Also, my install discs have disappeared off the face of the planet. Help!

Boot it from your install CD/DVD...

Unable to open Bridge CS6 after installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 8

I have been using Bridge CS6 successfully until I installed Photoshop Elements 8 to use with a scanner I bought. After the installation, when clicking on Bridge CS6 it opens Bridge CS5. I had a look at some of the forums and tried Ctrl-clicking on Bridge CS6, but it still opens Bridge CS5. I have also re-installed Photoshop CS6 in the hope that this will fix it. Any suggestions as how to get Bridge CS6 going again will be appreciated!
