hi all oracle gurus ,
i have this problem which i am facing its like this.i have a batch file that runs export every night one week back it was all okay .few days back when i looked the log files it gives me this error ---EXP-00056: ORACLE error 4021 encountered
ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object
what should i do this is a production database runing in windows platform and there is no backup pls help me .....

this is a production database runing in windows platform and there is no backup
what should iWell first of all you should stop using EXP for backups, it's quite unsuitable, and start using RMAN instead. Find out more.
If you have a Metalink account you shoudl read Note:298968.1. But teh headline is there is a bug in 10gR1 which is fixed in 10gR2. This may not help you much. The workaround is to try running the export again later, which may not be any more helpful.

I have logged in to sql+ sheet : sys/sys@esmr as sysdba [username/password@net service name as sysdba] and executed the query " $ora92/rdbms/admin/catmeta.sql "
But still I am unable to export the database user.Still it is showing me the same error. Please help me out.

Dear All,
till today everything went fine with the export utility, but now it shows the following:
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 12705 encountered
ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
I don't know why this error appears, nobody changed anything on the server or on the client. I've done some modifications regarding to the advices of various web pages, but the error doesn't want to disappear... (The same export code runs fine on other machines.)
Please advise!

I would advise you to read the metalink note ORA-12705 - Common Reasons and How to Resolve Them - Note:158654.1
What is your export command ?
Is it the same export command ?
Is it the same OS user and then same environment variables ?
What is your OS and oracle version ?
What are NLS_* variables values and database ?

If Gives the compilation Error then user following Solution.
The solution is running catnoqm.sql (remove XDB schema) and then running catqm.sql (installing XDB schema).

Also, any specific reason for running remotely? Is it possible for you to run the exp session directly on the database server host?

尝试了几台服务器都遇到这个问题，暂时没有找到问题的原因

问题已解决：
ORACLE error 904 问题是因为回收了public 的dbms_java执行权限，重新授予解决。
trace=y需要的权限问题: 应该需要grant dba to xxx; 单exp_full_database好像不行，下面是测试的情况
when the Data Pump TRACE parameter is used in Oracle10g Release 2 or higher, then the user who connects to the database and runs the export DataPump job needs to have the DBA role or the EXP_FULL_DATABASE role (the same applies to Import DataPump with TRACE parameter: DBA or IMP_FULL_DATABASE role required), e.g.:
GRANT exp_full_database TO scott;
-- or:
GRANT dba TO expdp_role;

Export fails with EXP-00056: ORACLE error 2149 encountered

Hi,
Export backup fails everyday with the below error.
when I export manuall during the day time. there are no errors.
I assume that the partition which it is trying to export exists at the time of the export job start HOwever, it could not find the paritition when it tries to exprot that specific table.

This database is very new to me. any help to investigate the problem is much appritiated.

Patch 9239090 - ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object

Hello Guys,
I need help urgently to comlete an upgrade of ebs 12.1.1 to 12.1.3.
We are upgrading ebs 11i to 12i going live this weekend. We have encountered "ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object" on patch 9239090 with two Workers:
In adctrl:
1 Run AutoPatch R120 AFUTLGRS.pls FAILED
2 Run AutoPatch R120 AFUTLOGS.pls FAILED
sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u02/applfinp/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/OFPROD/out/p001invok.sql
Connected.
create or replace package wf_bes_cleanup AUTHID CURRENT_USER as

I have done everything everything imaginable but cannot get pass these 2 failed workers.
1) I have checked are there are no locks blocking on any objects:

2) I also checked and there is space in the database.
3) From adctrl, I have tried restarting the jobs one by one but the worker 1 hangs at and eventually fails on several (12) attempts.
4) The solution on Doc ID 1291064.1 is not the problem:
SQL> select SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN, SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_PK, SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_UI, FORCE_LOGGING

5) Manual execution still gave ORA-04021:

After proceeding, I have yet hit two more errors and now stuck:

Ora-04021: timeout occured while waiting to lock object.

I have upgraded the DB From 8.1.5 to 8.1.7 then 9.0.2
but while converting to 9i it gave a warning that
"some uncompiled objects were found".
now the DB works fine with every DDL and DML operation but when I edit any precedure or function it hangs for 4 to 5 mins and then show the following error
ora-04021: timeout occured while waiting to lock object.
when I shutdown the DB and restarts it then it allowes me to edit any founction or procedure or package only for one time,then again shows the error when I try to edit second time.
what my be the reason , can any body help me pl.

How it happens ...what is the solution....please help

Identify the session that is using this object, kill it and then perform the ALTER table... or wait until the session that is accessing this table release it.

I have a problem at end of exporting data.
i have this error message
EXP-00056 : ORACLE error 1422 encountered
ORA-01422 : exact fetchreturns more than requested number of rows.
ORA-06512 : at "XDB.DBMS_XDBUTIL_INT", 52
ORA-06512 : at line 1
EXP-00000 : Export terminated unsuccessfully.
i connected to Oracle9i Entreprise Edition Release 9.2.3.0-64 bit.

there is a simple answer documented on Metalink for this problem.
Check your triggers and object names - there is a conflict .

Yes, I do agree.But when i compared with the other database where i am able to export it doesn't have the 'EXPORT_FULL_DATABASE' privs.
