I issued the following command to backup all objects owned by msd.
exp msd/msd owner=msd file=/d1/dhurley/msd.dmp log=/d1/dhurley/msd.log \

Hi,
The answer is Yes.
You have made a User type export.
So all the objects (definitions and data where available) are exported from the schema you specified.
Cristian.

    Hi,
    I wrote a basic function which implements a saving  of two text data into  user selected files. The user chooses  one file name and the program should have appended a _CH_B string to the user selected name and saved the second file with that new generated name. For some reason my regular expression part does not work even though i checked the reg. exression on a stand alone engine. Please see my attached program

    I prefer less code.
    Maybe try something like in the attached. Modify as needed.

    Using import (imp) you can list the content of your packages, procedures, functions, views, etc. and perhaps that will give you what you need.
    Another choice would be to useSELECT * FROM user_source ORDER BY 2, 1, 3;to list the code.

    Hello,
    You wrote:
    CAN THIS ERROR CAUSE BIG DESASTER TO DB IN FUTUREThe error message EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics just warns you that the statistics
    were exported but these statistics may be not useable.
    So, if you have to import these Tables, you may have to collect again the statistics of these Tables.
    It's not relative to this problem but why don't you use DataPump (expdp/impdp) ?
    Please find enclosed a link about DataPump, it's much more powerful than the classical export/import:

    Hi,
    >>because I exported dump from oracle10G
    Then you use the exp 10g version, right ? To move data DOWN a version(s), you need to export using that lower versions EXP tool and using IMP that lower version tool.
    Take a look at this below?

  • DX650 - 2 questions (Exp. modules?/Button Templates)

    So it appears that either both of these are not possible or no one else knows either!  Any feeback to confirm is appreciated.  Thanks
    I have two questions that pertain to the DX650 model SIP phone.  1st) Does anyone know whether there are expansions modules that can be used for these devices?  2nd)  Is it possible to create custom button templates for these adding additional line/feature ability?  I already know you can of course alter the template.  I guess I'm asking if there's a way to get more line/feature space with either adding an expansion module if they exist or a custom button template.  Currently we have the default standard template w/ 2 line extensions, redial feature, and then space for 12 speed dials.  Much like some 79xx/89xx/99xx models, we'd like the ability for an expansion module or ability for more functions.  From what documents I've read, it doesn't appear to be possible for either.  Anyone know for sure?  Thanks for your feedback

    Hi,
    Regarding the expansion module support with DX650 i want to add that since there is no mention of expansion module support with DX650 in the datasheet and more importantly when we check the Phone configuration page of DX650 on callmanager administration webpage the 'Expansion Module Information' section is not there, which shows that there is no support for any KEM with DX650 at least for now. You can check with your Account team or open a case with PDI Helpdesk for any roadmap related queries for the same.

  • 2 questions - exp/imp and coltype

    I have two questions - both unrelated : (Oracle 9.2.0.5 running on AIX 5.3)
    1. I did a schema export in database DB1 of a user USR1 that has a bunch of tables with data. Some of the tables are in tablespace TS1 whereas some are in TS2. Export is successful.
    Now, I want to use this .dmp file to import the objects into another oracle database DB2. Having created the user USR1 in DB2, I want to import all the objects into USR1. But DB2 has only one tablespace TS1.
    So, how do I successfully import all the objects into TS1 (even though some of them existed in TS2 of the source database ) ??
    2. Based on the data in a column of a table, I want to determine if the value contains alphabets or if it is numeric only. How do I do this ?
    For example
    SELECT ENAME FROM EMP;
    SCOTT
    BRIAN2
    MATHEWS
    GEORGE3
    5555
    I am looking for an output something like :
    SCOTT ALPHA
    BRAIN2 ALPHANUMERIC
    MATHEWS ALPHA
    GEORGE3 ALPHANUMERIC
    5555 NUMERIC

    Hi,
    1) No problem, the dump will be imported into default's target user
    2) Maybe this code below help you a little ...
    SQL> create table emp (ename varchar2(20));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into emp values ('SCOTT');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into emp values ('BRIAN2');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into emp values ('MATHEWS');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into emp values ('GEORGE3');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into emp values ('5555');
    1 row created.
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete.
    SQL> SELECT ENAME,NVL2(LENGTH(TRIM(TRANSLATE(ENAME,'+-.0123456789',' '))),'ALPHA','NUMERIC') FROM EMP;
    ENAME                NVL2(LE
    SCOTT                ALPHA
    BRIAN2               ALPHA
    MATHEWS              ALPHA
    GEORGE3              ALPHA
    5555                 NUMERIC

  • Another EXP/IMP question

    Moving data from 5 databases that are 9i over to 10g. If each datbase has 1 user with tables in associated schema what needs to be done on the 10g side as far as a user is concerned. The only way I've been able to exp / imp is cloning the sys account using toad then doing a dba/import from user sys to the duplicated account. What privilages are needed on the 10g side to imp that data without having to clone the sys account?
    thanks.

    CHarles is correct, if the export on the original machine is not a full export, anyone can import it. However, if it is a full export, then you must have the IMP_FULL_DATABASE priviledge. However, SYS and SYSTEM have the priviledge. Why don't you start imp as the sys or system user and do a user import into your new schema on the 10G system.

  • Question on IMP/EXP downward compatibility

    Hi,
    I want to know the possible ways of transferring a schema from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 8.1.6....
    Thanks in advance.

    while exp and imp from one OS to other u need to transfer the file in binary mode , and from one ver of oracle to other its advisable to have the exp from lower ver of oracle and need to be exported in higher version of oracle.
    But still if u need to have exp from higher version and need to be imported to lower version , u can do it by changing the header of dump file from higher version to the lower version of the DB. and u can also try by taking export with the value of compatible parameter in init file to the lowest version of DB u want to import.

  • Questions about the new Exp-Imp Patch 4174930

    Hello
    Looking at the README for the Exp-Import Patch 4174930 for IAS 9041, I see different commands specific for the Midtier patching and the Repository patching.
    However, it does not mention where I would need to run them from, and the sequence. I would assume the Infrastructure would be the first step, but the documentation is not clear on the above two areas.
    Can someone clarify pls

    Hi:
    You can apply patches from the midtier home only,specify the connect details while running the command.
    The readme does seem to have the exact steps :
    Applying this patch:
    ====================
    1. Once you have the patch bundle from metalink,please extract the contents under a directory e.g.$HOME
    This would create a <bugnum> directory under $HOME/<bugnum> e.g. $HOME/<bugnum>
    2. Now set your $ORACLE_HOME environment variable to point to a 9041 Midtier .
    3. cd $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch
    4. Run opatch with the right parameters to proceed with the installation.
    ./opatch apply -silent <patchbundle Location> -pre -s <portal_schema> -p <portal_password> -c <connect_string>
    Thanks,
    Anu

  • Error while exporting a table - EXP-00091

    I am doing an export of a table. The table has 1000838 rows. After the export is completed,
    when I checked the log - it said
    Connected to: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

    EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics.
    EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics.
    EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics.
    Export terminated successfully with warnings.
    I looked in the Oracle error messages document and found this out ---
    EXP-00091 Exporting questionable statistics
    Cause: Export was able to export statistics, but the statistics may not be useable. The statistics are questionable because one or more of the following happened during export: a row error occurred, client character set or NCHARSET does not match with the server, a query clause was specified on export, only certain partitions or subpartitions were exported, or a fatal error occurred while processing a table.
    Action: To export non-questionable statistics, change the client character set or NCHARSET to match the server, export with no query clause, or export complete tables. If desired, import parameters can be supplied so that only non-questionable statistics will be imported, and all questionable statistics will be recalculated.
    And this how my export command looks like -
    exp vincent/passphr query=\"where state in \(\'MD\',\'CA\',\'WI\'\)\" file=$EXPDIR/fida_label_9i.dmp tables=vincent.fida_label
    log=$LOGDIR/fida_label_exp.log
    Ofcourse, I am using the query clause because I really need to and it has always worked when we were in the Oracle 8i environment. We recently moved to the 9i. And this happens in this 9i version...
    And I certainly do not want to specify the import parameters to ignore the questionable statistics as no changes are desired in that area...(my hands are tied..).
    What could " a fatal error occurred while processing a table " mean? And how can this be traced and troubleshooted ? Or how can I find out if any row errors occurred ? And if required, how do I check the character sets and other likes ?? (I have no idea in this area)
    Thanks. All I needed was to get around this error. Your suggesions/responses would be highly appreciated

    What version of Oracle 9i are you using? Do you have a standard 'NLS_LANG' environment variable set on client's machines? Or do you set it to different values on different machines?
    Here is one of way you could get around it.
    Could you specify the export parameter 'STATISTICS=NONE' while exporting the table data?
    Try this and see.
    If this is successful, you could use the import utility as usual. You could always compute or estimate statistics on the table after import.
