Expand option is hidden

I created a static report using Vadim approach. Columns static but row has a node expansion.
Now i am seeing my workbook "Expand" menu options .. Next to "Refresh" on the top is hidden only when i open this workbook. Is that how it is supposed to be or I am doing something wrong? If that is the case how do my row expansion should be done or to get updated with change of master data.
While the column is static, Row is to be expanded with suppression depending on the selections in other dimension members. Rows should be different for each user / each run depending on lets say which product they selected
Is there a limitation with Vadim approach on this aspect?

Hi Andrew,
I have no issues with dynamic row Expand/Collapse on the report with static columns (no hidden Expand and parent double click is working fine). Please explain in details what is the problem (provide some simple test case).

Per my understanding that you want to change the size of the "+" and "-" when you have add drill down action in the report like below, right?
Generally, we can only show/hide the toggle and change the toggleItem, there is no properties to allow to change the size of this toggle.

Folder Options - View Hidden Files and Folders

Hello,
On this same laptop, there seems to be an issue with *Folder Options - View Hidden Files and Folders.*
Each time i "check" that option to View - then i go back to verify/confirm the changes done - but the checkbox is "unchecked" again. Despite clicking on Apply and Ok to save the changes! The changes are never saved..
I have used other laptops for this same option and it all worked fine.
Please advise whether i need to apply or amend other settings for this to work?

I mean normally Bitdefender shouldnt cause such a problem thats right but theoretically its possible. Such security software programs are really good and necessary on every computer with internet connection but due the high security it could maybe blocks some changes from Windows.
In my opinion its worth a try to test it without Bitdefender. Alternative you can use AntiVir (freeware) and the Windows firewall. In my opinion a really good freeware solution.

EA1 - Ability to use Search option and code collapse/Expand option in ...

Noticed the following feature which was Scheduled for Release 1.5 is missing.
"Ability to use Search option and code collapse/Expand option in the Normal mode of PL-SQL Editor"
This feature could save a lot of time on code reading/review/....

You can use the search on the read only (normal mode) of the PL/SQL Editor. Either through menu or using ctrl F.
The other is still an enhancement and is being tracked.

Hi Experts,
                  I have a problem with the expand functionality. the user will do a vlookup in the data region and send data.
                  the first cell of the the input data region contains vlookup formula and when the expand option is pressed the
                  vlookup formula gets distributed to all the cells.How to restrict the expand functionality in excel for formulas.

Hi Vinoth,
Expansion will copy any formula defined in one cell to the other cells. So, if you want to stop this, the only option is to not having expansion.

Expand Text Box? "Advanced" text options not hidden?

The title text box/editor is very small in the 10.2 update. It's just big enough for 2 lines of text. I find it fairly inconvenient to have it so small (I am referring to the text box in the inspector). I'm guessing there is no way to expand this to fit more lines of text in, but if anyone knows how that'd be sweet! Otherwise I'm just crossing my fingers it gets a quick update since I'm using it every day for work.
Also, the "advanced" tab always being collapsed in the basic text editing tools is annoying, too. I use this every time I make a title(which I'm making two videos a day, so it's a little more tedious now after the update). Personally, for a professional program I would consider the options in the "advanced" section to actually be basic and fairly necessary...based on how I use it, so maybe I'm not a normal case.
Nothing is broken, just less convenient...

Expand options

I would love to see this in Illustrator. After filling an object with a pattern, it would be great if you could expand that object and the result would delete all of the pattern outside the object instead of using a clipping mask.
I have been using Illustrator to create art for laser engraving and this would be the end to an art nightmare for me. The programs we are using can import an Illustrator file up to version 8 but does not recognize pattern fills or clipping masks. If I use a pattern, it is a very complicated task to delete all of the unnecessary pattern, then close and fill/outline with black.

Let me clarify a little further. Laser engravers give the best results with vector art but there are ways to use a raster image with additional processing.
I use textures already in Adobe's libraries such as mezzotint for example. I also create my own textures such as a basket weave pattern. For final processing of these files, you must expand these patterns to create an all vector file. This leaves you with vector tiles filling the object with a clipping mask. If you view in outline mode, you will see the extra tiles that need to be removed.
I have tried several ways to quickly remove the extra graphics using the pathfinder. This produces in some pretty strange results sometimes leaving only a tiny portion of the original pattern. Even the patterns I create can yield unpredictable results. I have spent considerable time working on this from different starting points.
CS4 has been the best version to work with so far. There are options using the eraser tool that help clear areas of clipped tiles. It is important to remember that the laser programs do not support all of the nice features found in Illustrator. Text must be outlined, objects must be closed and even line strokes must be expanded or use the outline stroke from the Object menu.
I am looking into several claims from laser manufacturers that plugins exist for Illustrator that will allow me to engrave from within the Illustrator environment. I have not found any yet but it seems this would be the answer I am looking for.

802.11n range expander options?

I have a client who is using WRT330n but the signal strength doesnt make it to the other side of his office. What are my options for adding additional WAPs?

i don't think Range Expander would work with the 802.11N technology...anyways try tweaking the wireless settings on the router...logon to the router's setup page and click on the wireless tab and try changing radio band to wide 40Mhz, wide channel to 9, standard channel to 11...click on the advanced wireless settings and try reducing beacon interval to 50, fragmentation and RTS threshold to 2304...check whether it makes any difference or not...

Limit the rows in a report with expandable option?

There is a table in which 50 reords are there.

I want to show only first 2 records and for the rest i want to show an expandable '+' sign.
1     111
2     222
+     XXX (will be some of the oters from 3-50)
When user click on this '+' sign this table should be expanded to show all 50 records.
How can we achieve this?

Oh, I thought your requirement was to show the first two records out of 50 and then show the remaining on click of '+'
Now your telling me that you want to aggregate 50 records into a 3 member parent , where 2 of those records are displayed and the other 48 are grouped under a '+' ?
It sounds like you want to create a hierarchy using a parent column , something like
Case when <attribute> in '1,2' then <attribute> else '+' end
Create a hierarchy something like :
Total
new parent column ( Case when <attribute> in '1,2' then <attribute> else '+' end )
attribute
So the results wil aggregate up to the parent column, if you drill on the attribute member 1 or 2 then it will drill to itself, if you drill on the '+' it will drill to the child members (of which there would be 48)

EXPAND OPTION IN HIERSEQ

I am developing one ALV GRID DISPLAY report. Here I am displaying the material and production order details in the report. If we have the multiple production order details for one material , then in that case , we have to place one folder at the first material level, in that folder I need to show all the multiple production order details.
I am using FUNCTION MODULE to develope the report, not using any Objects to develope this.

Did this example not help? If you simpy cut and paste it and run it, you can see that if you click on the expand folder, that the production orders underneath will be shown.

PowerPC Mac G4 (2.9) Expand Options

Just got a donation of PowerMac G4, so I get to work on it.
Hopefully, there is no any firmware update needed on OS 9.1 before upgrading to OSX. I already did the upgrade. (I know this because I did an upgrade for PowerBook a while back that require firmware update on OS 9 before upgrading to OSX)
Here is the spec for the machine.
Machine Model: Power Mac G4
CPU Type: PowerPC Mac (2.9)
Number of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 467MHz
L2 Caches (per CPU): 1MB
Memory: 384MB
Bus Speed: 133MHz

I just upgrade it to OS 10.3.2 (Panther). RAM 1-256MB, 1-128MB.
It's only going to be used for casual use, word processing, surfing the net, etc.
I'd like to see if I can upgrade this G4 to Leopard (it's just much smoother in Leopard)
I tried to use my Linksys USB wireless adapter for wireless internet, but later found out that Linksys doesn' have any adapter products that support Mac. What are my options for wireless adapter? Is AirPort Extreme is my only options? Source, price?

Thanx for the kind words, but you know an expert is just a guy further than ten miles from home.
Sort of disjointedly:
The 667MHz is eminently upgradeable; because of the 133MHz bus it shares with the Quicksilver QS processors plug right in and upgrades that fit the QS also fit the DA.
Having said that, it's not quite a case of 'plug 'n' play.
A lot of upgrade territory has been covered in this forum; it never hurts to see what's been said already. It also helps to start a new thread; there's less chance that your question will get buried in someone else's question.
XLR8yourmac.com is an excellent source of information on upgrades.
OtherWorldComputing has a selection (sometimes more than others) of new aftermarket processors, and it's always nice to buy new from a merchant who will stand behind his product.
Used processors are readily found on eBay, where their price recently has been dropping rapidly. However, remember it's a flea market and you take your chances; I've had far more unpleasant experiences with used processors than with any other item, by far.
The Quicksilver 933MHz CPU is a cheap, easy, and highly satisfactory upgrade; the DA will recognise it immediately, including its L3 cache, it is noticeably faster, and it runs cool and trouble free. Get it on eBay for less than $50 including its fan and shroud. Avoid the $9.99 'Hong Kong' version which is an overclocked 733MHz CPU without the L3 cache. You will have to run a 12v. jumper to the 'fourth post'. See: http://homepage.mac.com/josephk/G4pics/12V_connector.jpg for the picture of a Sawtooth so modified. You need a short piece of wire to get from the Molex connector to the 'fourth post', and also a ring terminal (squeeze type) and small nut & bolt from the hardware store to make the connexion. It's easy, and you need a spare Molex connector for the QS fan and also a jury-rigged adapter to get from four wires to two. See: http://www.pctoys.com/ for a selection.
It's all a good deal easier than it sounds; if you stare at it for an hour or so it will all appear quite obvious. I've done this upgrade a dozen times, and highly recommend it.
The DA fails to see the L3 cache of the QS dual processors; for this reason the swap doesn't seem so attractive.
I've used 1.47MHz 7455 CPUs from FastMac(OWC) and GigaDesigns in DAs; they installed easily and have given excellent result. I currently run a dual 1.2MHz 7447 on my QS main Mac. It dropped right in, but I've had more than my share of troubles with the 7447s; dip switches and general recalcitrance.

Expand option in detail navigation menu.

We have 3rd, 4th level menu in detail nabigation area.
I means that we configured following.
Folder - 3rd
Iview 01 - 4th
Iview 02 - 4th
Folder in detail navigation was collapsed in default.
Is there any way to expand all menu in defail navigation ?
I try to find a properties in Folder but I can't.
Any ideas ?

Expanded options for exporting comments to Excel?

This is a great tool, but could be improved by grouping actions related to the same comment on single rows, rather than create a new row for each action. Does anyone have any ideas as to how this could be achieved? See example scenario below:

The information is accurate, but isn't very helpful for large documents with many comments because there is no way to group actions by comment and determine which have been addressed and how they were responded to. In other words, responses and actions are not linked to the original comment.
Ideally, there would be an option to export the comments to a format similar to this:
Responses and actions are on the same row as the original comment, which allows for easy sorting and comprehension. Obviously there would be additional details to think through, but is this possible?

Blend - expand options

Control options in the palette of the Blend Appearance
New option in the Blend options - Smooth Color Fill so the program will automatically drew a number of passages for the path and fill the space without a transparent color of the grid.
Create a outline shape from the selected blends.

It's never worked as you think. It has to do with how the various blending modes mix layers over pixels that have transparency, and that hasn't changed in recent history.
But that's neither here nor there. In order to save a PNG that has the ability to combine with page data below it, you're going to have to prepare your flare to use Normal blending, and use layer transparency to combine it.
One way is to use the luminosity of the flare itself as a layer mask, which will have the effect of eliminating the black surroundings. However, that will end up dark and leave some black in the pixels that do show, and that could conceivably combine in an unnatural looking way with light surroundings (i.e., darkening them). You'll want to use such a PNG over the top of a dark background. You can mitigate this some by doing things to the pixels of the flare layer while leaving the mask alone, such as pulling up the curves and increasing color saturation.
