Expand the Ad-Hoc Query

Dear all,
Can anyone tell me the steps in detail on how to add extra infotypes (which is not in the standard selection area, of course) in the ad-hoc query selection area? In my case, I need to search an employee's personnel number by alternative name in local characters (IT0182) of the employee.

Hi Steven,
While creating Adhoc query choose Logical databse instead of a database table.
then you get a pop up to select the Infotypes. there you can select the multiple info types.

yes, i have added the new Infotype 9105 to data fields.
1.but this infotype in Data fields is showing as P8003.
could you tel me why this is showing like this.?
2.i have a field "Priority" in the existing "Critical Role" Field Group.
n My requirement is
"Add the Priority Field text description as an additional output field. the Numeric value stored in the Proirity field can be lookied up in the YHRPRIOX table,Object Type ZR."
3.After adding fields to newly created Field Group, is there any think to do the Coding or Changes.
4.After adding i have saved it & Generated the Infoset, i got few warnings.
and Could you tel me How to test this..??

Modifying the Ad-hoc Query Infoset : problem with P9105 fields.

Am having problem with Infoset of Ad-hoc Query .
i need to add the Critical role Field Group to ZHR_PA_01 Infoset of Satandard Area.
for this i have imported that Infotype 9105 and included the following standard fields by drag and drop.
                1. Role Category
                2. Role SubCategory
                3. Global Identifier
                4. Personnel Number
and then Saved and Generated the infoset succesfully.(No syntax errors)
But
While testing, using the T-Code: S_PH0_48000510
if i select one of these above fields for the report,
Am getting the message that "Error when generating the report".
Error Description:The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete.
means what may be the problem.?
if i select other fields its working fine.
can any body explain me clearly..??

yes, i have saved the T-code.and generated the Infoset Succesfully.
and its showing the those additional fields while testing.
for remaining fields its working fine.
but am not getting wats problem with the four fields of P9105 infotype.
could you please suggest me.?

How to disable Wizard in Ad-hoc Query Designer

Hi everybody,
I am using the Bex Ad-hoc Query Designer in a web application. The users should be able to define their own queries, but just for one info provider. I selected the info provider in the properties of the ad-hoc query designer in the web template.
Now the users are able to create queries for all info providers with the wizard.
Is it possible to disable the wizard or to disable all buttons at the top of the ad-hoc query designer.

This can be done using the security for the Infoprovider, provide the users access to create queries only for that Infoprovider.

Statistics indicator option in Ad hoc query for IT0033

Hi,
My client is trying to run the ad hoc query for IT0033 and not able to see the "Statistics indicator" fields in the selection so is there a way to add this field to ad hoc query so it will facilitate to query on this field ? please advice.

If you need to have there the statistics indicator, you would need to create there additional fields for that, selecting from
table T543A, with the employee molga and infotype 0033 subtype

Ad Hoc Query - While executing - System could not read any data

Hello Techies,
When I am excuting my Ad hoc query - for one personnel number for which Infotype 28 subtype 0001 has been maintained
But system is throwing this error -
System could not read any data
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC226
Diagnosis
There is no data available for the specified selections.
System response
The results list in the lower part of the screen still displays the last list to be created.
Please let me know why does it happening ?

Ad hoc query missing amounts

Hi:
I'm having problems in order to obtain amounts from a custom infotype, this custom infotype (9001) is attached to the positions. When I try to obtain information about amounts that I have store in the custom infotype with the ad hoc query, I have the following error:
Error when generating the report (see long text)
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221
Diagnosis
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
And I just tried to obtain information of 1 record.
I'm in 640 version.

Hi Antonio,
Without knowing the structure of your custom infotype, it is difficult to identify the cause of your problem. I would first start with that - use transaction SE11 and make sure the infotype structure and definition for the requested field are correct and activated.
Since the infotype is tied to Position, I would create a new PCH based Infoset (SQ02) with the Position as the key. Then include the IT1001, 1005, 9001, etc as well as the IT0000, 0001, 0002, etc. for Person as Holder. Generate the Infoset, assign it to your user group (via SQ03) and then create an Ad Hoc Query with it.
It is also possible the custom infotype may not work in Ad Hoc, but could if the query is created directly in SQ01. I would also give that a try. Again, the problem is probably in the custom infotype and the field itself or in the generation of your infoset.

Creating a query with the Ad-Hoc query designer is much on the same lines as creating a query with the Bex Query Deisgner. You need to choose the chars and key figures and place them in rows, columns, free chars or filter areas. You can set the InfoObject properties and also create exceptions and conditions.
The Adhoc Query Designer is a web item and can be made available in web reports

Ad-hoc query's program lost in SAP 4.7 upgraded box.

Hello,
Does anybody know what happen to the ad-hoc query programs
after upgrading the box of SAP 4.6c to the SAP 4.7 ?
What happen is that I had a transaction that would exec the program created based on an ad-hoc query and now, after the box was upgraded to 4.7 the program doesn't exist.
Can anybody give me an answer, please?

Hi Oli,
Depending on how AD-HOC it was created.
- If created within DEVELOPMENT CLASS $TMP, sorry mate, but this cannot be upgraded with the system.
- If ad-hoc created as personalized to one user, sorry mate, no automated upgrade possible.
Other causes might be, that your query uses data objects that no longer are available on the system (likely customer developed structures).

Ad Hoc Query Data Issue for Position Based Infoset

Experts,
I've created an infoset that is based on the S object using the PCH database. For this infoset, I've included several infotypes with focus on 1000, 1001, and 1028. I've included the Address infotype (1028) as this is where we store our work location information. For some reason though when I attempt to pull information from 1028, specifically the House Number and Street field, the Postal Code field, and the City field.
For some reason though, no data is being returned in those fields. I've verified for the position (in PP01) that I'm querying on that the data is maintained in 1028, and I've verified that I'm attempting to report on the correct fields by verifying the field technical names I'm pulling in the Ad Hoc Query with those I know have data stored in them on the infotype for the specific position.
Would anyone have any guidance on what could be happening here or what I might need to adjust to be able to pull this data?

To add some further clarity to this item, the Address infotype on the Position (S) object is pulling from a dropdown of selectable Buildings. If unfamiliar, the Building drop is populated by configuration data from the IMG. The fields that are populated then in the Address infotype actually come then from the Building entries and are simply populated onto IT1028 (address) depending on which Building is selected.
I think this is what it occuring then when I select the fields from the Address infotype and I see nothing populated in the Ad Hoc query since the field information is not actually stored in IT1028 but on in the Building entry.
Has anyone else experiencing this particular problem? If so, have you found a solution?

Ad hoc query titles

Hi all,
I am making an adhoc query of an infotype - say 0001.
Now whatever fields have lov's or f4 possible value helps, their heading in the output is coming in proper text like 'personal number" etc. All those fields which are free text - like Legal Person ( P0001-JUPER) are coming as headings like 'LP'. i.e. their proper text is not coming. Please let me know how to change this text to the approprriate field description. Also if I created some fields in a custom infotype as data element type 'XFELD' check box, there the heading of the field in the ad hoc query is coming as 'Checkbox' which is actually the short description of the domain ' XFELD'. Please let me know how to change this to desiered heading..

Using transaction CMOD chose the following menu option
TextEnhancements -> Keywords -> change
2) Give Data Element name
3) Enter the data element that you wish to change the display text for, then click the change icon(Pencil). You will then be presented with the screen, which allows you to modify the text values of the data element.

Personnel number in Ad Hoc query

Hi,
The personnel number in the Ad Hoc query is not coming up. I mean the field is selected for Output but 000000 is seen for al employees. Can anyone please guide as to what needs to be done in order for the Personnel number to show.

I have created a query(in Adhoc query), I have selected Personnel number from KEY FIELDS but in the output it is displaying employee full name instead of Personnel number and I don't see any other Personnel number option to select in any one of these infotypes 0000,0001 and 0002.

Ad Hoc Query Designer - Web Application

Hello,
I have created a Web application that has the 'Ad-Hoc Query Designer' item.
When I go to create a new query I don't have the option (or I can't find it) to use any variables.
Like in Analyzer I can run a query and it will ask me the values for the variables I have embedded in the query.
How do I make that work using the 'Ad-Hoc Query Designer'
Also I have problems with the application timing out, what timeout variable needs to be adjusted?

You have to run the Launch query in browser from the query designer window, it will be the second icon from the top. This will open up the query in a browser and if the query has a selection screen the browser will launch the selection screen.
For the application timing out, it is a parameter that has to be set in the instance profile of the BI application server. You can ask your basis team to increase the parameter 'rdisp/j2eetimeout'.

You can create an appropriate ad hoc query to specify parameters for Web target iViews.
In logical SAP R/3 Systems of Release 4.6B or higher, transaction SPO0 contains an Ad hoc Query tab. This uses the concept of InfoSets, which are usually based on table joins or logical databases, to create abstract definitions for fields that the system can read. You have to enter parameters for the individual fields. The ad hoc query delivers values that can be passed to the portal.
Transaction SPO0 also contains a buffer for ad hoc queries. This improves system performance by avoiding the need to put together the query every time it is used.
You can delete the contents of this buffer by choosing Delete Buffer for AdHoc Query on the start screen of transaction SPO0. This removes the index entry and the generated queries from the system

No user groups created while opening Ad HOC Query

Hello Folks,
When I try to open "S_PH0_48000513 - Ad Hoc Query" under Human Resources->Information System->Reporting Tools I get the error message "No user groups created".
Can someone please let me know what kind of groups are needed to be created and how (details) so that I can use the Ad Hoc Query Program.
