Expanding Clips on the Timeline - Help with new problem please.... (pic)

See pic below --- Never had this problem before. Any clip that is in my ongoing project won't expand more tha 1 second when trying to drag... what did i do wrong? It's doing this now in other projects as well....

* Any clip that is in my ongoing project won't expand more than 1 second when trying to expand/trim (using selection tool (V) making sure none other tracks are selected).
* I was able to trim/expand these clips before Wednesday (2 days ago).
* Only happens on other version of THIS project (previous saved/copy versions) -- all sequences, all clips.
* Thinking that this has something to do with the track selector tool. In my project, I was cutting/editing sections out (around 1:00 min in sizes) from the timeline and then using the track selector tool (A) to move the entire project (the clips that are in front of the section cut) back in place (1+ hours of edited clips). I did this at least 20 times - in 20 different areas of the timline (successfully) until the proble occured. Leading me to believe it has something to do with that.
Just throwing it out there that I know how to go back and forth between (A) and (V) and that I've been using premiere for 9 years (since 6.0) and I know most of the ins and outs.

Can only see first and last frame of clip in the timeline HELP PLEASE

Hi, my first time and I did look for an answer, but can't find one. I have premiere elements 4 and I am trying out ver. 9. In ver. 4 the clips in the timelin shows all the frames, but in ver. 9 it only shows the first and last frame of the clips. Is there any way to make all the frames show. By "all the frames", I mean the clips fill with frames.I liked to see all the frames in the timeline, it is easier for me to select and trim the bits out.
My specs are Core 2 Duo 6750, Nvidia 8600GTS, 4G Ram, Vista Home Premium. 3 HDD 3TB.

As for the GUI, PrE had one more like PrPro (the early versions), up through PrE 3. With PrE 4, they streamlined the GUI (and some of the operation), and went with the "dark look." PrPro went in that direction starting with CS3, and now, the two programs' GUI looks more alike - darker. Personally, I like PrPro 2.0's brighter GUI. Now, one can alter the brightness, but the contrast can work against doing much of that - give me the lighter GUI....
The look of PrE 4 thru PrE 9 is very similar, though things have moved about some. Still the look is similar. Same for PrPro CS 3 through CS 5.5.
As for the trial, things have changed in PrPro, as of CS 5.5. Once, the PrPro trial was very crippled, but had no watermark. No more. No crippling, and still no watermark. The trial for PrE is far less crippled, but does have the watermark. We do not know what changes might be coming with the trial of PrE10. We will just have to wait and see. One great option that Adobe offers is the 30-day, money-back guarantee. If you buy Premiere (either flavor), and use it for 29 days, but do not like it, then you return it for your money back. This is the full-paid version (both flavors) with nothing crippled, and no watermark. Not that many companies make such an offer. Basically, on can use the trial for 30 days, to see some of the powers of the program, and then buy it, and try it fully for another 29 days. If not completely satisfied, they get their money back - essentially a 59 day trial.
Were I doing AVCHD, I would definitely look at buying PrE 9, and giving it a 29 day shakedown. The only caveat is that AVCHD requires a lot of computer "horsepower," and not all computers (especially if more than a year, or so old) are up to that task. I find it amazing that a consumer format, like AVCHD, requires more computer power to process, than most professional formats, until one gets up to, say RED 2K/4K. However, that is the nature of the H.264 CODEC, and by that, I mean all H.264, not just the AVCHD version.

After 10.4.8 - Am I the only one with NEW problems??

After years of experiencing glitch-free connection to the Internet via our cable provider and my AEBS and AX - (3 laptops and a G5 iMac) after the latest update, it seems the whole system imploded.
As I've posted here previously, after this "update" none of our laptops in our home would connect as they have before. Consequently, I unplugged everything from the system, reset the AEBS, and found (after troubleshooting) that it would connect ONLY if security was NOT applied. (Hence, I am running my network right now UNprotected, something I've never had to do.) If I gave the AEBS a name, and also applied security, NO connection.
The second part of this problem is that at our small office at another site, which runs wirelessly on a LinkSys router, all three Mac laptops (two new MacBooks and my PowerBook G4) all connected seamlessly and received strong signals UNTIL the latest update. Since then, none of the Macs will connect, though it still recognizes the LinkSys network, however, there are NO bars to indicate any signal.
The worst part of this is that the PC laptops in the office are still all connecting without a problem. One can just imagine the taunting we Mac users are tolerating at the moment while we are scratching our heads trying to figure out what's gone wrong!
Another friend of mine, elsewhere, who uses a Mac laptop and G5 iMac emailed me recently and is also experiencing these same problems with his home-based AEBS and has had to forego security to get his AEBS working as I have done.
Is Apple recognizing there is indeed a new, unresolved problem here?

An interesting diagnostic follows : it looks like the wireless network gets blocked for a few seconds, in a cycle. It does not happen from other wireless systems on the same network. Changing the access point (I bought a new one!) does not change anything, it's clearly related to the MacBook. A Powerbook G4 has the same problem. I really suspect the system update...
The ping delay is set to 0.1 sec to display more clearly the pattern (the default 1 second is undersampled but shows the same behavior). sudo is required to have a delay < 1 sec.

Help with FPS problem please

so I've been using my GF4 ti 4200 64mb for about 3 months, and receiving more or less 100 fps constant. I'm playing counter-strike, and getting a nice fps, and then decide it's getting late so I quit CS, and leave my computer. The next day when I go to play cs (or any game for that matter) my fps barely reaches 50, and the game freezes up at regular intervals (about every 5 seconds). At other times my fps will drop to 6-10 just from me shooting, or being shot. Any help would be appreciated -- thx in advance-

Some general advice that could apply here:
- you use 98. Try rebooting every time you have that kind of problem. 98 is notorious for flaky memory management.
- Try to fix your swap file size. Something like 384MB or 512MB seems reasonnable. That should help your defrag problem. To solve it completely, disable the virtual memory, reboot, defrag, enable, reboot.
- verify with a ctrl+alt+del that nothing is running. Having an antivirus or any memory resident program could solve that.
- did you change anything recently? what kind of prog did you install? any driver change? A small hassle that could help: reinstal directx, reinstal video drivers. If you already changed video drivers recently, just try reinstalling directx.
I'm not surprised that MSI is not responding. This is not directly linked to their hardware and their support is already overwhelmed. The forum is here to supply the answer.

Need Help With New Build, Please

Ok, built a new PC. Here are the parts:
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
XFX Geforce 6800GT
Seagate 160 Gig w/ NCQ
1 Gig (512x2) Corsair value memory 3200
PC Power and Cooling 470 Watt Silencer w/ Y PCI-express adapter
Athlon 3500+ (Clawhammer, says Newegg)
Lian-Li V-1100 (black)
My problem: 99.7% sure all cables are connected properly.
All lights and fans come on, drives open and close, but no video signal.
D-Bracket indicates the boot sequence is stuck on "processor initialization".
Things I've tried:
Swapped out the motherboard for an Asus A8N-SLI, same problem.
Reset CMOS on both: same problem, obviously not a motherboard issue.
Built w/ just CPU, GPU, and Memory on a towel, not a grounding issue.
Tried swapping out DIMMS one at a time in primary slot, same problem with both.
Yes, both 24-pin connectors and 12v 4-pin connector are hooked up.
Where I am now:
It's not the motherboard, or memory (unless both DIMMS are bad).
Based on the D-bracket LEDs, I assume it was the processor. I've sent the processor back to Newegg for a new one.
If that's not it, that leaves the PSU, the GPU, and/or the way I've got the y-adapter running to the GPU via two molex.
If the processor comes back and it doesn't work, I'll probably buy a cheap PCI card from newegg to see if it's a GPU problem. And/or I'll try a new PSU with a native 6-pin PCI-Express power connector.
Does anyone see any common compatibility problems with the K8N Neo4 Platinum and the parts I've selected, and/or does anyone have any other suggestions?
It's very depressing to have all this gear sitting around and be unable to power up Half-Life 2. :( Any help would be appreciated.

Possible, but as mentioned, the LED bracket indicates it makes it completely through POST without the video-card, and I've tried alternating each DIMM, one at a time, in the primary slot. Unless both sticks are bad (wonder what the statistical chance of that is), it's not memory.
Though I'll try swapping out both as a last resort if the GPU switch doesn't work.

I have validated my XML file and it passes fine, I can also insert the Podcast URL into iTunes and it downloads and plays the Podcast, so I am at a loss to work out where I'm going wrong..
When I sync with my iPhone, my Podcast is synced but I get an error message saying it couldn't be synced because it can't be found

I don't have an iPhone to check this with: I asasume it's reading the feed directly? - so that the fact that it's not in the Store yet is immaterial.
The only thing I can think of is that the URL given in the feede for the episode file:

redirects to the actual URL

Can somebody help with new problem having?

I've had a photo ipod for a few years now and never a glitch. I haven't done anything new but for adding 2gb more of RAM recently. I am running XP Pro...have never had a glitch.
The other day I went to sync my ipod and itunes wouldn't recognize...the ipod 'do not disconnect' kept going on forever...if I unplugged it, the entire computer screen would disconnect.
If I left it connected for long enough (15+ minutes), I would get a message from windows saying the itunes needed to reformat the ipod...on one occasion itunes picked up the ipod but said it had to be 'restored'...so, I restored it and successfully deleted the 2500 songs I had on it...
I followed the steps about disconnecting and plugging into the wall...did that and when reconnected...same thing...
Eventually, the 'autoplay' windows box opens up as well...never goes away.
I took the ipod to the apple store and they successfully connected it to 3 computers...both MAC and PC based...
I tried connecting it to my laptop and although I don't have itunes, the computer registered the 60gb portable hard-drive without a problem.
I now get a 'there was a problem downloading the ipod software for the ipod. the requested resource was not found' error when I connect the ipod...
I also connected my nano to the itunes and it synced just fine...so, no itunes error...
Can someone please help?

Before you sync, go to upper menu in your ipod while connected in iTunes. Make sure the "sync music" is ticked. It is not selected by default. Then try to sync again. Cheers!

Help with new itunes please!

hi. I've just upgraded to the new 7.0 something itunes. It has only created album covers for my purchesed music, although many of my albums can be found in the music store. Would it be possible for to transfer the album covers over?

The program will not open and I get an error message of (-200).
the -200 indicates a broken QuickTime. (itunes needs a fully functional QuickTime in order to launch properly.)
let's try the following technique to replace your existing QuickTime.
go into your add/remove programs, select QuickTime, and then click "Remove".
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
after the computer has finished restarting, we'll try to get a fresh QT in there by doing a repair install of itunes.
go back to Add/Remove. select itunes, click "Change", and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through properly, restart the PC again, and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly this time?

Im not sure if there is anyone who can help me I am trying to open my itunes up but it just keeps saying error problem with audio configuration, is there anyone that knows what this problem is and how i can solve it.

Help with mic problems please!

Currently I have a Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS sound card with I-Trigue L3500 speakers. I have had this system for a bit now and have never needed to use a mic till recently.
The system has a wired volume/bass control that plugs directly into the sub. It works fine but when I plug a headset into it I can hear sounds fine but can't use the mic function. The controller is clearly marked with 2 stereo mini plugs that seem to be labled with the uni'versal headphone/mic symbol and it seems so dummy proof, guess it isn't?
I'm using a Labtec headset, not the greatest one, but one that sold for about $25 at Best Buy which I guess makes it a mid level one at best.
Please any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!

i have the same problem. i am using an audigy 2 zs soundcard with a t7700 speaker system. i'd like to connect my mic to the volume control unit (because there is a microphone jack) ... but i am wondering why there is no cable connecting the subwoofer with any microphone jack on the sound card.
this brings me to to following question:
FOR WHAT PURPOSE IS THE MICROPHONE JACK ON THE VOLUME CONTROL UNIT?

Help with speed problem please.

Hello, I need some help please with my BT broadband. My speed has dropped and now is very slow its always been up and down, at its best it's been 4mbps and has never dropped below 1mbps untill now. I have tried to provide what I think you may need, had internet with bt for a year and this is the first time I have had a problem since having broadband. I want to find out if I can why my speed has dropped.

Your connection reset tonight was that router droping connection or manual reset?
your noise margin is at 19.3db which is very high as normal is 6db. Has your connection been dropping often?
are you connected to the test socket? If not can you connect to test socket
try quiet line test. Dial 17070 option 2. Should be quiet and best with corded phone. If cordless then dull hum normal

How can i get my Certificate ??Help with this problem please.

On 18 Oct 2009 I passed 1Z0-047-ENU but the certificate hasnt arrived yet.
I checked personal info on pearsonvue.com, it's ok. On certview.oracle.com i have Oracle expert Status.
on 18.12.2009 do two months since the pass but I hasnt got a proof in my hand that I did it.
How can I find if the certificate has been sent at all or not?
Who can I go to or talk to about the problem?

This page is most interesting and contains a better procedure....
You should (by now) have a line here for your certification .... if you don't there is a procedure on this page.
The key item in the line is (created date).
And the procedure here is to wait 45 days after the created date for your success kit before emailing ocp-fulfillment_ww
Bonus: As you are able to see you success in Certview you can see you you can publish you success kit to 3rd parties.
Click on the publish credentials to 3rd parties and then go through procedure to publish credentials to yourself (your own email address) to see how this works. You can then confidently publish to your employer / recruitment agent / husband / wife / boyfriend / girlfriend if they need proof of your study.

Any help with this problem please, phone switching off ??

My Phone will just turn off as if the battery has died but phone is fully charged, when I turn the phone back on which has to be with a cable to comp or mains the date and time resets to default 00.00am and 1st of the month every time, I have tried hard resets and everything going but still doing it, could it be a battery fault ??.

DFU mode restore, that's the most powerful restore option. Either you have something installed wrong on your iPhone or your PC won't sync completely with it. I don't know how you guys did those things, i've did a lot with my iPhone but it never gone wrong.
Didn't you like drop it on the ground or something? That maybe explains a lot.
