Experiencing slow loading, and up and down signals.

Just Saturday I called linksys to have someone setup the WRE54g. After using it on my DSi and Ipod Touch I'm realizing that in a not that far distance from the expander that it goes from a full signal to a low signal and back and forth. Also, I've noticed that even on a full signal that web pages on both devices load slowly.

What is the model no of the Router...?
What is the distance between the router and the range expander....?
Try to change the channel on the router and the expander and check if that make any difference.

There have been a few reports on here where Corsair RAM seems to have caused users a lot of grief with crashes.
The recommendation on here, mostly, is to only buy RAM from macsales.com or crucial.com as they guarantee their modules will work and offer a no quibble lifetime guarantee.
I'd put the original RAM back in, return the Corsair chips for a refund and re-order from one of those two companies.

HT5559 slow loading and loading in sections

Start up began last week with a gray slow screen - past two days 13" mac is slow loading and loading in sections of white blocks on my screen - is it JAVA? What to do? It happens if I walk away for a short time, if it goes into screen saver and or if I put lid down - Got 13 " alumn case with Mtn Lion September 2012.

Go step by step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
    Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
    Restart the computer.
    Start up in Safe Mode.

2. Delete Caches.db
    Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the dropdown.
    Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
    Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
    Close windows and relaunch Safari.
3. Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
4. Delete Cookies
    Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
    Click the “Details” button.
    Remove all cookies except from Apple, your internet service provider and banks.
5. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.
    Turn on those one by one and test.
6. Update Adobe Flash Player.

7. Deselect Proxies if selected.
    System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
    Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.

I thought ff4 was suppose to be faster than 3.6 but it is slower loading and getting to websites. Are ther certain add-ons that could be affecting ff4 that did not affect 3.6?

ff4 generally slower loading and loading pages.

same problem here for the past two days till this morning when I created a new profile and removed ALL addons from the default profile. With the new profile with NO addons, I got to the sites with video that I had problem with and flash player did work.
Now, I only have three addons that have not created the problem; adblock, flashgot, and flashblock.
Create a new profile and check it out.

I hope someone from Apple is monitoring this site. Three days apps will not update, iOS8.0. Support told me to update to iOS8.02. Can't do that over WIFI or Cell network. Supports tells me have to link to iTUNES and do this. That takes three trys. Did that. Apps still not updating. Read online that resetting network settings will help. Did that App's hanging and not updating.
Apple how does this happen. Night before iOS8.0 release you pull things because of some security issue. Then you have iOS8.01 fiasco and now this. Can someone get this right. We use these things for more than just phones now. FIX IT

IMac - Slow load and wifi problems

I have lion installed on my macbook pro and on my iMac. My macbook pro works GREAT...no problems. My iMac - I am ready to toss out a window. Here are the problems:
INCREDIBLY slow boot up time - 5-10 minutes from off - 5-8 minutes from sleep
The hard drive is constantly working. I can have nothing open and it sounds like the hard drive is constantly spinning
Half the time my wifi hardware is not found on boot up and I have to reboot with slow load times - sometimes taking 20 minutes before I can get logged in to a 'working' computer
A lot of my programs have become slow. Safari can be slow responsive but others that are not apple that have done 'lion updates'
I have my activity monitor running and nothing seems to be hogging resources. My iMac specs are:
2.8 intel core i5
12 gb ram
2 TB hard drive with about 1tb free
I ran the lion update that came out and it did not seem to do much for me.
Anyone have a solution? Anyone tried a clean format and did this work? Lion works great on my laptop and I just need it to work on my main computer as well.

i think part of the boot up time issue is the amount of windows you happen to have open when you put it to sleep
other is lion upgrade slows it down due to this auto save function
my wifi is also spotty and acts like it can't find itself at times
and this is a brand new imac

The pages in safari and Firefox are loading and scrolling down and up very slow, this was not like this yesterday or ever before, why is this?

Check Activity Monitor (located in Applications -> Utilities) to see what other processes are using up the cpu. If both browsers are slow, it sounds like something else is using the cpu.

To do this I understand the form needs to be saved in Acrobat v7 or greater and saved as a dynamic form. So far so good. When I create the dynamic form by opening the existing 45 page pdf, livecycle creates a form object for each line in the document. That's a ton of objects that don't need to be objects. I am adding 15 enterable fields into this document. For example the document may contain a line of text "Last Name", this appears as a form object as described. I am adding a text field next to that so the user can enter their last name. After saving the document it takes a long time to load and the tabbing from field to field is very slow. I am thinking this might be due to processing all the form objects that don't need to be form objects, but not sure. Question: based on my description is there a way to create this document without all those non-enterable form objects?

Why are some websites very slow loading and others not

Some websites are very slow to load and others not. Doesn't seem to be any logic as to. The affected URL below is one that is very slow. I can understand if it is not an Aussie website. Having said that New York Stock Exchange website "http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=DJI" loads quicker than the subject URL

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

3 computers networked, 1 VERY slow up and down!

I have 3 computers networked, via cable modem and WRT54G Ver. 5 wireless router. The "primary" computer is XP which is hardwired, number 2 is XP, wireless, number three is running ME, and is hardwired. Number "3" is ridiculously slow downloads and uploads. This is a recent occurance, I just relocated (moved 10 miles)...the ONLY thing that has changed is my ISP (earthlink) and the new cable co. which is now Time Warner. I had NO problems previously with connect speeds on any of the three computers. I have just run the set ups for the router with the linksys info on this site to no avail. When I take the computer (number 3) out of the router loop and go direct to the cable modem, ALL is well and I get typical cable download/upload speeds. I suspect the router???BUT I am unsure at this point of what is going on????? Ideas anyone?????

you can actually try forcing the ethernet card of your ME to 10 half duplex. Sometimes,when a computer is behind the router,especially if it's a windows ME, the trasmission of packets over ethernet connection will slow because of the NAT firewall built-in to the router. And because the router is precedent to the modem, then the transmission of packets coming originally from the modem will be slow down.
On the router's side, you can try lowering the MTU to 1400 or even lwer to 1300. This will adjust the packet transmission. The packet transmission will slow down but the tramission will be stable, thus making your ME download/upload speed more faster.
You can also try this option, try updating the firmware of your wrt54g v5 to firmware v. 1.01.0.
Or you could also try enabling the QoS option of your wrt54g v5 found under the APPLICATIONS AND GAMING TAB. try prioritizing the port # to wherever your ME is connected to, so that the bandwidth of the computer will get more bandwidth, since your other computer is already working fine and fast...

Very Slow BB and Wireless Signal Dropping

Hi, I have a HomeHub 2 which has worked reasonably well over the years. Recently my BB speed seems pretty slow and the wireless signal keeps dropping every 5 seconds or so.
We have several laptops in the house (not all online at once) and this problem affects them all. I have installed inSSIDer and it shows 6 other hubs in the vicinity. I have tried changing the Wireless channel, changing from b/g/n to just b/g, reducing the roaming aggresiveness settings but nothing seems to be working. My hub settings are below

You do seem to have a lot of wireless in your area which is making it very difficult to have a completely free channel all you can do is find a channel that has the weakest signals on It and try that hopefully Keith will post the link and maybe some further ideas

Yosemite slow load and display changes at logon screen

I updated my Macbook Pro to Yosemite; since then at logon the display scale is bigger than my default, but once logged on the display changes smaller to my default.
At the logon I find that it takes longer to load after entering password etc; status bar rolls and taking about 30 seconds (instead of the 5 seconds previously in Mavericks).
Also find that after logon, it takes a few minutes to connect to the internet and be ready to use.
This never happened previously, was instant after logon could go straight into email or safari and work.
Is others experiencing this and what can I do to improve this?

V5.0 slows loads and downloads by up to 80%. Why????

Using Windows XP Pro. Dell desktop. When I converted to V5.0, the download and load speeds increased between 22 and 80%. I am now back on V4.0. This is the second time that I have asked this question in the past week. Please respond or I will convert to Chrome.

Thank you for explaining to me that I don't understand the problem. At least that makes two of us.
When there is an obvious bug in some software and that bug has been tracked down to an incompatibility between two programs (and at least I understand what is going on, as, I am sure, anyone else will who is familiar with recent FF developments), one (or both) of the two programs has to be modified. UPEK have modified their software and tested it. Toshiba have uploaded it but have failed to release it. That's all you need to understand. I posted the problem here in the niave hope that someone from Toshiba might be interested to know what problems their customers were having.
Model number and OS version are totally irrelevant, since the problem has been completely identified and a solution found. I am sure you know it all but a golden rule in forums is not to try to help people until you have understood what they have said.
Of course I appreciate that Tosh have to run some tests to satisfy themselves that this new version isn't going to break something else (but UPEK are puzzled). But the point is that something is seriously wrong with the current version and an update is needed now.
Frustrated? Yes! Actually, I am sick of the inefficient and intrusive bloat-ware on my Toshiba. I frequently have to reboot or wait aeons while the thing deals with a myriad of different start-up processes. I have a Tecra M5 and it is certainly not on my recommended list. Never have I been so underwhelmed by a new computer (owned since March 2006, BTW). The only good thing I have done of late is dual-booted Linux onto it.
If there is an email, let me know. As for telephone support -- get real!

Safari - Slow loading and the spinning wheel of death!

it seens that every page i surf to i get the spinning wheel of death . i have to wait and wait and wait, you get the picture. this happens on just about every page i go to, more on the pages that have forms to fill out.
I have read on another post that clearing the cache may help. NOT! and that trashing the favicons folder will help. Where is the favicons? also that restetting the application will solve all my problems. This is not internet exploader. this is suppossed to be apple. rock solid and all that crap.

* You will find the Favicons in:
HD/User/Your_Name/Home/Library/Safari/Icon Folder
* Quit Safari an trash the whole folder, when you relaunch Safari again, a NEW Icon Folder will be regenerated.
* Now go back to the Icon Folder in Safari an only select the Folder once, no get info by pressing the Command-i key. Set the Icon Folder to ONLY READ this prevents that the Favicons will be stored.
Also:
1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
2. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Also the power to support the modem. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro v. 11.0.10 Slow Loading and Crashing

I’m really hoping that anyone can please help me. I’ve upgraded to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro version 11.0.10 on a Dell Optiplex 7010 Intel Core i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz with 8 GB RAM, 64-bit OS, running Windows 7 Professional. When first starting the program, almost every time, it gives a “not responding” message with the spinning blue swirl icon, and then finally responds, so I was wondering if there was anything that I could do to help speed it up considerably.
I don’t have a lot of programs running on this computer, and all of the other ones run fine. The only programs that I have running normally are Microsoft Outlook, the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, FileMaker Pro 11v3, Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, v 10.3, and Pidgin 2.10.11.
If there anything that you would recommend doing that would make Adobe Acrobat run faster?
The only plugin that I have for Acrobat is Enfocus Pitstop Pro 11 update 2.
I noticed that if I have a website open for work that uses Adobe Flash, it seems that more often than not, Adobe Acrobat tends to crash or give that “not responding” error, but unfortunately I need those websites open for work.
Any help would be so much appreciated. I really hope to hear from you soon. I really need help with this.
