We will be holding more of these Expert Days on different topics in the months to come.  We hope to see you then!
If you still have questions to ask, feel free to post them on the Forum – we always have Experts on the HP Support Forum to help you out.
Do you have questions setting up or using your printer, notebook or desktop PC?
We have answers.
Experts will be on the printer and all in ones, notebook, and desktop boards ready to answer your questions from Tuesday, April 26th 9:00am to Wednesday, April 27th 9:00am Pacific Daylight Time.
How the day works:
Come to the Forum and post your questions. More than 100 experts will be on the Forums and will do their best to answer your questions. They may need to get some more information from you so please check the box "email me when someone replies."  An online conversation will be born!
Why should you come to the Forums?
Whether you own a Photosmart printer, HP Envy notebook or an HP home desktop computer, there has never been a better chance to learn about your product.
When do you have a chance to talk directly with the people who designed the product or wrote the manual for it?
This will be your chance to connect with the best and brightest minds at HP for free.
We’ll share our knowledge on the best ways to:
Troubleshoot the issue you are having;
Set up a Wireless network;
Tweak your product to increase performance;
Safeguard your PC from viruses and spyware;
Choose the right video card, power supply, or add the right amount of memory;
Use the tools built into your product that can make it run better and fix common problem;
Also, get your questions answered about all new Internet Explorer 9, tips, and compatibility.
And it’s FREE.
Doesn’t matter how old the product is or what it is connected to. We will do our best to help.
The event will also be occurring on the Enterprise Business Forum (April 26th from 9:00am to April 27th 9:00am PDT) and Simplified Chinese Forum (April 28th - China Standard Time).
Hope to see you on April 26th!

    Welcome!
    We are glad you came to Expert Day.  There are more than 150 Experts available to share their insights with you.
    How the event will work:
    Our team of Experts will be monitoring the notebook, desktop, and printer and all in ones boards and jumping into the conversation to tackle your toughest questions.
    You can easily recognize our Experts out on the Forum.   If they have the label “HP” by their names, they are HP employees. If they have the word “Expert” by their names, they are people that are very knowledgeable but who are not employed by HP.
    If you have specific product questions, the more information you give us, the better we will be able to assist you.  Having your exact model number, any error messages, what operating system version are you running, and any recent hardware or software changes will go a long way in helping us solve your problem.  The Experts may need to get some more information from you so please subscribe to the conversation, and an online conversation will be born.
    While we do have Experts from around the world, many of them are located on the west coast of the United States. As a result, you will likely see more replies during normal waking hours in the United States, however many of our Experts are even planning on logging in to help you from their homes!
    Expert Day will also be taking place on the Enterprise Business (English), French, German, and Portuguese Forums.
    If you need assistance registering or posting a question, there are videos and tips here that will help you get started.
     So, please join the conversation. This is your chance to connect with the best and brightest minds at HP for free.  Whether you own a Photosmart printer, HP Envy notebook or an HP home desktop computer, there has never been a better opportunity to learn about your product.

    My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday.  I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank.  When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message.  The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
    I'm not happy with HP.  Any suggestions?

    I have a MacBook Air that was bought April 5, 2011. It seems it should be supported for Airplay mirroring but I can't get it to work and I do not have the icon on my bar. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

  • ICal duplicates a day (October 15, 2011)

    Some days ago, I made a hotel reservation for October 15, 2011, using booking.com. Once my reservation was set up, I used the booking.com site to create a Gmail Calendar entry. After that, I used Mobileme to send this calendar entry to my Mac's iCal and iPhone. After that, my iCal stopped working and crashed (My computer is a Mac Book Pro running OS X 10.6.7). Then, I had to delete iCal, reinstall it and upgrade it with the MacOSXcombo upgrade to have iCal working again.
    I tried to delete the calendar entry (in Gmail) and sync again. All I achieved was that I have now two days October 15, 2011 in my calendars (all my calendars have this particular date duplicated).
    I tried also to delete all my calendars and create a new one, but all new calendars are born with the same bug, that is replicated both in Mobileme and my iPhone.
    I tried, then, to create a new user in my Macbook. For the new user, MacOS creates correct calendars, with only one October 15 day. But I don't want to be another user than myself.
    Today, folks at another discussion tried to help me, for no avail. John Maisey told me that my problem sounded completely different from that original poster, and suggeted me to start a separate discussion, what I am doing now. Also, he gave a hint that my problem may be time zone related, but I cannot figure out how.
    I had this trouble and tried many solutions, but no one worked. Now, I am still using iCal on my macbook and iphone and mobileme, but still cannot use the deadly date of October 15, 2011. When trying to work on that month, my calendars behave like this:
    iPhone: month view: only one day 15, events shown on all day, but day 15; day view: after day 14, there is an empty day 15, then a day 15 with events shown, followed by day 17 (no day 16 is shown).
    Macbook Pro: month view: days correctly shown, but with no events; week view: two days saturday 15, with events correctly shown; day view: iCal crashes whenever day october 15 is reached.
    MobileMe: month view: all events shown, with two days 15; week view: weeks  9-15 and 22-29 work fine, week 15-22 is not shown (mobileme goes to previous week); day view: day 15 is shown, but iCal does not respond when I try to view day 16.
    Does anyone has seen anything like this? Is there a way to solve a time zone related bug introduced by an ics event already deleted from my calendar?

    Hi,
    I just searched and there are similar posts here:
    October quits Ical
    CALENDARS-OCTOBER 15TH ,2011
    October Month view causes crash, G5 & Intel
    iCal displays twice the same date on the calendar
    weird thing happening with my iCal
    Can you confirm what time zone you are in? Not in Brazil by any chance?  If so change to the Argentinian timezone instead (in System Preferences > Date & Time > Time Zone) .
    Best wishes
    John M

  • I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty?

    I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty? I want to know if the 3 year extended warranty covers what damage. Like water damage, accidental damage, lost or stolen macbook, manufactory defects, or any other kind of damage, maybe be even cosmetic damage. Can anyone help me?

    If you are talking about features of the MBP itself, as long as you are not looking at  the Retina models, then the memory you can upgrade yourself for a lot less than Apple charges, and that does not affect the warranty as Apple considers memory a user permitted upgrade.  Great sources are Crucial and OWC, both are Mac specialists and have on-line videos on how to do the install.
    If the 15" is what you are looking at, a good upgrade is the 7200 rpm hard drive, gives a little better performance over the standard 5400 rpm drive.
    The Hi Res screen is good if you do a lot of graphics work.
    Comparing the 13" amd 15" you will notice the 15" has a second, discrete graphic processor...helps when you get into heavy duty videos, games, graphics...but keep in mind that kicking in the second processor uses a lot of power and will run the battery down faster.
    If you are looking at the Retina models, then keep in mind there are no post-purchase upgrade options...you have to buy with everything you want at the start.
    Just some thoughts.

    i have lost my iphone 5 the day before yesterday,and have tried many ways to find it, but in vain. i wandered if there are some useful solutions to such kinds of issues, because lots of people have similar terrible experiences. in china many people have lost ihones, which means you also expose all of your information you have saved in iphones. this is dangerous,because criminals can take advantage of those information. i think apple should talke more measures to stop the thieves from using apples so easily.

    cuz me too same case I have also I lost all my photos 800pics

    Nobody here can possibly answer this kind of stuff -- you have to talk to the store.

    There can be multiple reasons for crashing. Seeing this article would be helpful as it lists out the solution for this-
