Expired certificate error for language packages

I wish to inform the nokia authority, that the language package(UK english Martin) provided for Message Reader app (symbian belle) is showing 'CERTIFICATE EXPIRED' error ,whenever I tried to install the language pack.
I request the authority to kindly extend the certificate period more so that all user can use those packages.
I downloaded the language pack from:
http://www.nokia.com/global/support/text-to-speech/
Handset model : NOKIA 701

Same problem with US english language packs, expired certificate despite the fact that I just downloaded it from Nokia a few days ago. So please Nokia renew the certificate for the Nokia super 701 Text To Speech Language packs.
Handset Model: Nokia super 701 FP2

  • 5800 XM "Expired Certificate" error message

For people who own a Nokia 5800 XM, the error message of "Expired Certificate" when downloading applications onto the device will be mean you cannot load on new apps, which can be frustrating.
Firstly you should try to update the firmware on your phone by 1 of 3 ways.
Using FOTA (Firmware Over The Air). Another thread of mine will explain this in detail. You can find it here.
Downloading Nokia Software Updater(NSU) and connecting your 5800 to the computer using a data cable.
Taking the handset to a Nokia Care point if you do not want to try the above 2 options.
**NOTE: Always be sure to make a back up of your personal details that are held on the phone as updating firmware will most likely delete any data left on the phone.
If you have used FOTA or NSU to update your firmware, or there is no new update available then doing the following will work and will allow you to install new applications without the expired certificate error message.
With the phone switched on, press the power button key once.
Scroll down to and select "Remove E: Memory Card".
Select Yes to remove the memory card.
Press OK and remove memory card from phone.
Press the Dialler on the main screen.
    Type *#7370#
Enter security code. Default is 12345 unless it has been changed.
The phone will reset, wait for this to complete and power back on.
Select your country and type in the correct time and date.
Wait for the phone to complete its configurations, you may receive "My Nokia" or tutorial messages.
    Power off phone.
    Insert the memory card.
    Power on the phone.
Wait for the phone to install any pre-loaded content from the memory card
Phone is ready to install applications, without "Expired Certificate" error message.
I have done the above myself and downloaded the PDF reader from the "Download" application from within the handset and it installed with no error after these steps.
    I hope this helps.

  • Another Expired Certificate Error Thread

I've searched all over, and apologize in advance if there is already an answer for this.
I'm using the Symbian Belle OS and am running into the old problem of expired certificate errors when trying to install certain apps. The solution to this was to change the date on the phone so it coincides with that of the application you're trying to install. But that solution is no longer working.
Does anyone know of a workaround?

I did every year all the way back to 2000 but no luck
I also tried sites that will convert the .sis file into one with a valid certificate, but that fails as well. When going down that road it just tells me the certificate is not valid or that the author cannot be verified (instead of expired).

  • Maintainance tasks for language package installed

    Hi All,
May I ask inputs regarding installing language package. Basically, below are my questions.
    - Are there any maintainance activities required following installation of a language package in the system?
    - Are there any annual support packs for language packages?
    - Say our ECC is EHP5 and we installed new language in our system, then we upgraded the same system to EHP6. Are there any activities that needs to be performed because of the upgrade even if the language is already installed in the system prior to the upgrade?
    - Do difference in language installed in the systems affect the copied xml file during upgrade? Meaning, say we have dev and QA ecc system. We created stack file for dev for the ehp6 upgrade. Using that stack xml, upgrade dev system. Then a decision is made to install new language in the system. Thus it is installed in upgrade dev, and not upgraded QA. Now, we copy the stack xml file use in dev to be converted for QA. Would there impact on the upgrade process?
I would appreciate your inputs on the queries. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
    - It depends on what you did exactly during this installation. Could you please list the steps taken?
    - There are no annual support packs. Language packages are shipped with every release of a new Support Package, with updates and corrections of the existing content (if any).
    - With SPs as with EhPs, you will need to reinstall the language files for your system. It is hopefully rather quick as a follow-up step (not saying that the initial language deployment is tedious and hard work, but... Well, yes, it is) if you have not performed any translation activities in your installation.
    - I don't think so since languages do not seem to be included in the stack (which would actually be counter-productive, dangerous and a dozen unnamable negative linguistic adjectives).
    Hope that helps!

  • ISE 1.2 / WLC 5508 EAP-TLS expired certificate error, but wireless still working

Hi I have a customer that we've deployed ISE 1.2 and WLC 5508s at.  Customer is using EAP-TLS with and everything appears to setup properly.  Users are able to login to the network and authenticate, however, frequently, I'm getting the following error in ISE authentication logs:
12516 EAP-TLS failed SSL/TLS handshake because of an expired certificate in the client certificates chain
    OpenSSL messages are:

    relurned: s3_ srvr.c: 272 0
I'm not sure if this is cosmetic or if this is something that I should be tracking down.  System isn't in full production yet, but every client seems to be working and there is no expired cert in the chain.  Any ideas what to check?

    Hello Dino,
thanks very much for your reply.
The client uses a machine-certificate, the PKI is not a microsoft one, but a third party PKI.   The certificate is fresh and valid, the root-cert is installed and checked to be validated against it for the login.
Clock is correct too. The same setup works flawlessly in Windows 7 and XP.
EKU is set on the certificate (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.2)
I suspect the cert-setup itself, but don't get a clue where this might stuck...

  • Pacman throws "unrecognized archive format" error for .xz packages

    Hi,
I am recently getting the following error while installing packages which are in .xz format only.
    for e.g.
sudo pacman -S pacman  //works fine. as it is packaged in a .gz format
sudo pacman -S xterm     // error while reading pakage /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xterm-261-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz  -- unrecognized archive format: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character.
I tried using the -U switch to install it -- I got the following little different message:
    $ sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xterm-261-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
error: error while reading pakage /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xterm-261-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz: unrecognized archive format: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character.

    I have libarchive-2.8.4-1 on my system ( I have reinstalled it. )

I used ltrace to see what is happening, here is the trace around the point where I am getting the error:
    alpm_trans_commit(,,, <unfinished ...>

        fflush(...)
        dcgettext(0, 0x805x690, 5, ...) = 0x8058690  ---- AFAIK, this one gets local specific string

  • Certificate Error for second server in collection

I'm running 2012 R2 RD Services. I have Two RD Session hosts:
    HostRDP1.domain.local
    HostRDP2.domain.local
The External DNS entry is: rdp.mydomain.com
I have a wildcard certificate applied to both servers (*.mydomain.com)
I have the two servers setup in a collection so if I remote to rdp.mydomain.com I get one or the other.  However, for example, I get a certificate error when RDP'ing in and it's directing me to HostRDP2.domain.local. The error says that HostRDP2.domain.local
doesn't match *.mydomain.com certificate. Even though I used rdp.mydomain.com to start with.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi,
    1. Please change the published FQDN name using this cmdlet:
Change published FQDN for Server 2012 or 2012 R2 RDS Deployment
    http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Change-published-FQDN-for-2a029b80
Since your gateway and broker are on the same server you can use the same FQDN you are using for the broker.
    2. On your internal network, please make sure there is a DNS A record for rdp.domain.com pointing to the private ip address of your broker.  Based on what you have written previously I believe you already
have this in place but I want to make sure.
    3. In RD Gateway Manager, properties of your RD RAP, Network Resource tab, please select Allow users to connect to any network resource.  Later if you want to create a RDG managed group and enter all the required names you can do so.
    4. Please re-download the .rdp file and double-click it.  On the prompt, it should now have the same FQDN for both Remote computer and Gateway server.
The way the connection process should work from external is client connects to RDG (rdp.domain.com) over TCP 443/UDP 3391, then RDG connects to RDCB (rdp.domain.com, which resolves to itself) over TCP 3389/UDP 3389, broker redirects client if needed, and
if redirected client again connects to RDG and RDG connects to the other RDSH server.
The way the connection process should work from internal is similar, only the RD Gateway will be bypassed automatically.
    Thanks.

  • 'Certificate Expired/ Certificate Error' in Nokia ...

I have bought a new Nokia N91 8GB. But when I try to instal any application or theme. I get an error saying 'Certificate Expired' or 'Certificate Error. Contact Application Supplier'. Please let me know how this can be resolved.

    Hi ismaniyar
Firstly go to Application Manager > Options > Settings and set "Online Certificate check" = Off and Software Installation = All.
Secondly try resetting date on phone to January 1 2007 first and if that doesn't work try December 31 2006 as Symbian certificate may have expired on theme; reset date after installation.
The actual date is a case of trial and error and previously quoted dates may no longer apply due to the passage of time.

  • Expired certificate error

when try to install any application on my phone it tell me that you have expired certificate. So what can i do to have the new certificate?
Moderator's note: We have amended the title of this post as it was moved from another board.

If the app is asking for a licence key, it means that you have most likely installed a free trial which may expire after a certain time or restrict use of certain features until the full version is purchased.
You can usually make the purchase through the app itself, otherwise please see the web site of the app producer or the store from where you downloaded the app.

  • JWS gives 'failed to parse certificate' error for VALID code sign cert

    Hi,
For my application, After downloading jar files from web server, JWS (1.2.0_02) gives a Security Warning asking user to trust the Signer.
However, after clicking Start, it gives another Security Warning which says this:
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Sign App jar files with a VALID code signing certificate from Thawte or Verisign (don't use DST or RSA or any other CA as JWS supports only Versign/Thawte root CA entries by default).
Download the app using JNLP, and you will see this warning.
    EXPECTED -
It should not give the second security warning. First one is fine as user has to trust the signer.
There are no logs anywhere to find out what error it encountered parsing the certificate.
The certificate as such is valid, it was verified with keytool, openSSL and various other tools.
    ACTUAL -
After downloading an application from web server, JWS gives a Security Warning asking user to trust the Signer.
However, after clicking Start, it gives another Security Warning which says this:
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.
ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.

    Hello,
I had the same problem. Here are some additional things to check:
    - every jar in your app MUST be signed by ONE and ONLY ONE certificate.
    - every jar which is presigned should be checked on its own. I had a bad bcprov.jar which nearly drove me nuts. Maybe there are more such 'presigned' jars around.
    One recipe aside:
Try halfing down the jars in your jnlp file further and further, until it runs again, then you'll probably find the jar which causes this. I would bet a specific jar.
There's another Bug already known which makes JWS fail on checking the certs on jars with classes which have national characters (even Inner ones!). So you might be checking that, too.
    Hope that helps...

  • Thawte certificate signing error for jar file

We are running im version 7.2-28 (patch 118786-28). When connecting to im via the web (which we are serving from webserver version 7) user are prompted by certificate error for the im java application -- not to be confused with the web server certificate.
This seems like one of those things I miss in the release notes, find later and feel stupid, but I've not found it yet.
    The certificate details are:
    L=Palo Alto,
    ST=California,
    C=US,
    OU=Secure Application Development,
    O=Sun Microsystems Inc.,
    CN=Sun Microsystems Inc.
    MD5:0D:62:CF:DA:1F:0F:00:E3:02:2F:B6:3A:A8:36:4B:DC
    With validity:
    [From: Wed Jan 05 15:02:33 GMT 2005,
    To: Mon Jan 15 18:21:35 GMT 2007]
It is signed by Thawte, but the CA certificates look fine.
Any advice on what I'm missing would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You are facing this issue coz the certificate used to sign im-client jars is expired. This is a known issue and will be fixed in the upcoming release.
