No, you can stop using the account, but you cannot delete it.

    Hi screen name,
Adobe PDF printer gets installed when you install Acrobat 10 Pro.
To use this printer you need to purchase Acrobat. Once the trial period is over you cannot use the printer to create pdf files.
An alternative way for you is to utilize Microsoft's own inbuilt pdf engine.
You can simply open the file and select 'Save as' and in the type list select 'pdf'

  • HT201342 I'd like to know why they keep making MORE ACCOUNTS!?   They wanted you to make a 'Mobile Me' account, then they were suppose to combine the me account with a new me account; now an icloud account.

What a mess.  My original iTunes account was set up using my ISP address, then Apple wanted me to make a 'Mobile Me' account to place stuff in a 'Cloud'; then they did away with 'Mobile Me', and made another cloud and wanted me to use another address.  My understanding was that the orignal 'Mobile Me' address was going to be consolidated with the newer 'Me' address, then all my addresses were duplicated more than once.   Now I have my orignal ISP address, the mobileme.com address, two or maybe three 'Me.com' addresses, and now a 'iC

Switching to the @icloud.com email address will not affect the AppleID you use for the AppStore in any way whatsoever.
The new @icloud.com address is part of the iCloud account which you currently have the same @me.com email address for.
Nothing at all to do with the AppleID(s) you use for iTunes/AppStore (unless you have the one and only AppleID you use for both).
At most you should have only two AppleIDs. One for iCloud (which iCloud syncing, and your @me.com/@icloud.com email addresses are attached to) and one for the iTunes/AppStore (which your app, music, movie etc purchases are tied to).
There has never been a reason for you to have multiple AppleIDs for purchases from the AppStore/iTunes Store.

    Hello ziam_haady,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5621
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that address.

  • Transfering an e-mail address to Mobile Me account.  Do I need to?

    Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this post should go here or perhaps in the Mobile Me area. It involves both iWeb and Mobile Me.
    ===
For about the last 10 years I’ve had my own domain name [www.morrisacevedo.com] It’s been hosted by various companies. The latest one was Network Solutions. However, I just moved my website over to my Mobile Me account. The reason is that I was able to make a much better looking and functioning website on my own with iWeb than I was able to with DreamWeaver given my limited skills.
My website is currently on the Mobile Me account and not on Network Solutions and is working perfectly. The Network Solutions account ends at the end of November but I wanted to move the website before it expired.
    Here is my question:
I have also had my e-mail address for the website as [email protected] My e-mail is working but I think that it’s still going through Network Solutions. How do I transfer [email protected] over to Mobile Me so that it still works after my Network Solutions account ends in a couple of weeks?
I just have feeling that pointing [email protected] over to the Mobile Me hosting may not have taken care of my e-mail account as well. Does that make sense?

I don't believe you can transfer/forward the email to MMe. When your contract ends with your current host so should the email address. If your site is up and running on MMe today, put a notice on your first page that you email address has changed and give it. But don't put it in text. Type in it iWeb and then take a screenshot of it and post the screenshot image file. You don't want spam crawlers harvesting your email address.
You could encode your email address by one of the methods in this demo page: Embedding Forms & Encoding Email Addresses.
You do know that you can create alias email addresses with your MMe account. You can have one for personal, one for business and one for online shopping (if you start getting span at that shopping email address you can delete it from the aliases and create a new alias).
Also, until your contract is up in November forward your old email to your new MMe email so your replies will be from your new email address.

  • Can't get to my Mobile Me Account.

I have a Mobile Me family account. I have Mail setup and working on my iPad. The other family members would like to check their email by going to me.com via Safari on the iPad. However, when me.com is typed, the Safari page ends up going to a Mobile Me account set-up page instead of the Mobile Me Login page.
I hope that I can get more than one email account on the Ipad otherwise I think it's pretty useless. I can access my Mobile Me email on a PC so why not this iPad? I hope I'm doing something wrong. Please help.
    Sincerely,
    Lou

The mail app on the iPad will allow you to add as many accounts as you want. Just go to Settings, select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", and then select "Add Account" for all the other accounts that you need. I currently browse 5 different email accounts on my iPad.
However, if people sharing the iPad have "private" messages, this may not be a good option as the mail app makes it easy to see everyone else's email. When you are looking at mail, to change accounts you click on the box in the upper left corner to show a list of messages (in landscape mode, this list is always active), and then press the name of the "account" in the upper left twice to see all of the mail accounts on your iPad.
At some point, Apple may make iPhone OS more friendly for multiple users, but for now this is the best you'll be able to do.

  • How many websites can you have under one mobile me account?

I already have a mobile me account with one website that is currently published. I was wanting to make another website under the same account. Is this possible to make two websites on the same account?
    Thanks

Just make sure that you give them all a different name in iWeb when you create them or they will cancel each other out when you publish them.
You cannot give sites the same name in the first place.
If you do, iWeb will revert to the one it had before if you rename a site.
Found out when I gave sites the same name but published them to different servers.
The sitename has to be unique in the domainfile.
Solution is/was to duplicate the domainfiles and edit each separately.

  • Cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

I have a Mobile Me email account which works perfectly on my Mac and iPhone. I created a an Alias Mobile Me Account on the web.
I am able to create a new email from the alias account on the Mac.
The iPhone will not recognize the alias account, I cannot add it or sync the account.
I cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

To all frustrated MobileMe alias owners who want to send email from iPhone - please go to the feedback area of the apple.com and leave messages regarding this issue. I had a lengthy conversation with a tech support guy who agreed that this is a needed fix - he said to initiate a grass roots effort - and that by all of us leaving messages it will eventually get attention and fixed. Why would Apple give us the ability to create alias's, use them on mobileme website, on our mac mail programs, but NOT the iPhone, which is the MOBILE device. Silly. Please protest!! Thanks.

  • How do I move all my files from one User Profile (account) into another? I needed to create a new account and want all of my files accessible in the new one.

How do I move all my files from one User Profile (account) into another?
I needed to create a new account and want all of my files accessible in the new one.

ok, what you're learning right now is 101 unix, which is good. Unix is a good thing
now: the way unix works, and macos (which uses unix underneath) the files and folders work like a hierarchy.
the start of that tree is /
so, if you were to do:
    cd /
    (cd means change directory)
it will bring you at the highest branch of the file system.
    cd /Users
will bring you to where all the users are.
to see whats in /Users you can use your friend ls command
    ls means list files/directories
    so:
    cd /Users
    ls -la
(the -la here means show all (even hidden) and long format (very verbose))  this flag is very optional.
    you will see
    fred
    user2
    for example.
if you want to see the desktop of user2 you would change directory to it then list the files.
    for example:
    cd /Users/user2/Desktop
Note that the files and directory are case sensitive, so, desktop is NOT the same as Desktop, or DESKTOP
    ls -la
you should then be able to see everything in users2 desktop
you could have done as well the same thing in smaller steps, for example:
    cd /
    cd Users
    cd user2
    cd Desktop
this is the equivalent of cd /Users/user2/Desktop
So, for your file, i don't know where it was, but know that if you log in as user2, it will directly put you in
    /Users/user2
which most likely the file you had created from the other user was in /Users/user1
if you copied all the files from /Users/original_user to /Users/secondUser
most likely yes, all your mail, bookmarks etc would be copied over.
    so in your case.
    sudo chown -R seconduser:staff /Users/secondUser
    should work
Remember that if you start a path with the character /  it means start from the root of the file system, at the highest top you can ever get.
    so
    cd /Users/fred
    is not the same as
    cd Users/fred
unless you were in / already
i know it may be confusing at first but it's actually very logical if you play with it.
to simplify, think of it that / means C:\  on windows
you can't go any higher than C:\  (in a way)
if you're unsure which directory you're currently in, you can always type:
    pwd
it will tell you where you are.
    for example:
    cd /
    pwd
    this shows  /
    cd Users
    pwd
    this now shows /Users
    cd /System/Library
    pwd will show /System/Library
    cd /
    cd /Users
    cd fred
    cd Library
    pwd will show /Users/fred/Library
unix can look very scary but it's actually vital and very necessary to do tasks sometimes that would take for ever to do via the windows. This is good learning.
so for the myfile you had created, i can't tell you where it is, at the time you created, if you can do a pwd command you'll know the path,
ls -la  (this shows all the files where you are)
if you see myfile in the list
    do a pwd
whatever is return, the real location of the file would be:
    whatever pwd returned / myfile
    I hope that makes sense.

  • Can I publish more than one website to my Mobil Me account? -- Urgent!

I need to create a 2nd website with iWeb and publish it using Mobil Me. Can I do this using my existing Mobil Me account? I seem to be able to publish only one site at a time.
If I need to set up a 2nd Mobil Me account, how do I differentiate the two?
I may need to transfer the original website to another person who would set up their own Mobil Me account. If I do, where are the files for my original website? I would have to copy those for the new person so they could access the site on their own Mac.
Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

    Michael,
Your web site file is located in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. It's titled "domain.sites2".
You'll want to make sure that you back up this file from time to time otherwise you'll lose all your hard work if your hard drive fails or if this file becomes corrupted for some reason. All of your web sites and pages are all located within this file.
No need to open up another Mobil Me account. You can publish all of your sites from your account.
    Gramps.

  • I have an apple ID and a separate mobile me account...

I'm a long time .mac and mobile me user that is now getting around to finding out what I need to do to transition to iCloud. I've been searching to find answers to a few questions and not finding exactly what I need to know - so let me just ask them all at once.
I have a separate apple id (that has been used to purchase thousands of $$ of music and movies through iTunes) that is not connected with my mobile me ID. From what I've read, I can't merge these - so one will have to go and one will have to become my ID for iCloud.
Since I don't want to lose access to all my music and movies - I'm guessing I will need to use my apple ID to create an iCloud account. Using my Apple ID will ensure that I can continue to have all the media I've purchased across my desktop, laptop, iPad, iPod and iPhone.
My mobile me account has been used to sync 10 or so calendars and all my many contacts. Since all the calendars are now online since the mobile me calendar upgrade a while back - how do I not lose them all when I close out my mobile me account to open a new iCloud account with my apple ID (I'm guessing there is no easy transition of data from one account to another?) I'm terrified to switch to iCloud now because I can't merge my IDs - so I'm afraid I will lose ALL my calendar history and contacts.
Can someone tell me what I should do here?
    Lost in the Cloud

You should continue to use your Apple ID for your iTunes account whatever you do in terms of iCloud syncing and mobile me.
If you would like to use the Apple ID you use for iTunes for iCloud syncing. just create an iCloud account using that Apple ID. If you do this you will need to add an iCloud mail address which can't be your mobile me address as that is already taken.
If you want to create another Apple ID for use with iCloud so that you keep your @me address from your mobile me account you can do that by migrating from mobile me to iCloud, you can do that too, your Apple ID for iCloud will then be your @me address.
If you migrate your calendars and contacts will also be migrated and continue to work in iCloud. If you create an iCloud account using the Apple ID you use for iTunes you will be given the oportunity to merge your calendars and contacts.
Whichever you choose, it would be agood idea to export your calendars and contacts for back up purposes before doing anything.

  • How can i make my mobile me account email my primary email?

I have an apple id and a mobile me account. I want all of my apple mail such as purchase receipts from the itunes store to be sent to my mobile me account address instead of the primary email adress for my apple i.d. Ever time i go into account setting and try to switch it, the site tells me it is already hooked up, yet the emails are still sent to the wrong address. Does anyone know how to fix my problem?

Mobile Me closed on June 30th 2012, did you migrate to iCloud before that date?

  • HT204053 I had a mobile me account and now i have two apple id's how do i make it just one?

When I signed up for icloud I was told that i could just use my mobile me account. The problem was that my mobile me account creates an address for me and now that address is my icloud id. In addition to that my itunes store address is different but it is also an icloud id, but i want just one id. is there any way i can merge the two?

The same thing happened to me because I had an Apple ID that was not an email address under which I had made all my purchases and a me.com address that I initially used to set up my iCloud account.  If you want to get all your purchases from the Cloud, then you need to do a couple of things:  first, change the Apple ID that you purchased all your stuff under to be an email address.  You can do that yourself by going to the page where you change your Apple ID.  I think it's applied.apple.com but if that's not it, just search for "My Apple ID" in the search box on the support page.  Sign in with your existing ID -- the one that is not an e-mail address -- and change it to an e-mail address.  Be sure to remember this Apple ID.  Then create your iCloud account using this Apple ID.  You should be able to get all your stuff to download using this account.
The problem with this is now you will NOT have an iCloud account associated with your MobileMe account.  If you're OK with that, you're good to go.  I think you still have time to manually download all your stuff from MobileMe.
Apple phone support walked me through this, so if my instructions are confusing you can call them and get them to walk you through it too.  It's a common problem.
