Expired skype number

I have been automatically billed for skype services ... and i still have a positive skype credit balance ... but i have been notified that my skype number has expired ... what is up with that? WHY did that happen? Does that mean that i cant make calls? Or that i can't be contacted via my skype number? How do i remove automatic billing for skype?

  • My Skype number is about to expire?

    I have just received an email saying my Skype number is about to expire, but there is money in the account. Why would they do that and will they refund the money still there? Could it be because I haven't used the Skype number for a while, and if I do use it in the meantime will the expiration be stopped?

    1. Allow your current Skype Number subscription to expire. You won't lose your number -- it will be held on your account for reactivation for 90 days following the subscription expiration date.

    The easiest solution is to just move your Skype number to another company.

  • Skype Number Expires In One Year?!

    Let me begin my fury by first telling you this message I got from my Skype desktop software.
    The Skype Number +[Skype Number] will expire on 2014-10-07.
    What do I need to do?
    You can extend your number by signing into your account. There won't be any break between subscription periods – the new one will pick up right where the old one left off.
    [When I pasted the message, a number appeared not present in the original message. but I deleted it because it might be "confidential." I saved it in an RTF document in case you need it.]

    When I "signed into my account" there was no message that said I needed to "extend my number" NO WHERE AT ALL did it say "click here to extend the number." And I don't know why it wants me to "extend" the number each YEAR because I have an automatic payment subscription for every THREE MONTHS. I looked EVERYWHERE for supscriptions, and the only "subscriptions" were the "unlimited minutes", SEPARATE THREE MONTH AUTOMATIC PAYMENT SUBSCRIPTION from the Skype Number Automatic Payment Subscription. But there was no information about the Skype Number in the Subscriptions page.

    Your account confirms that you have a 3 monthly Subscription to a Skype Number with the next automatic renewal date on October 7th 2014. The reason you received a message that it would expire is that your credit card expiry date will be reached before the new 3 month Number Subscription period ends on January 7th 2015. To ensure continuity of coverage you will need to provide updated credit card information before October 7th 2014. I'll check the other points you make and advise. Apologies for the confusion.

  • Transfer expired skype online number

    Hi , my skype online number will expires at the end of this month and I want to transfer/assign the number into another skype account.
    From what I understood here, its not possible to transfer online number from one account to another and I will have to wait until it expires then I can buy it again using my other skype account.
    My question is : Should I wait until the online number subscription expires then buy it again through my other Skype account or is there away around this situation ? 
    And how can I buy it again using my other Skype account without waiting for 90 days after the number expire/deactivate which is the period of time needed for the number to go back again to the available Skype online numbers pool .

    you cannot transfer a Skype Number from one account to another . . . period
    when the number expires it is held for you for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate it -- if an when you reactivate it during this period it will still be associated with the original Skype Name
    if the 90 days expires before you reactivate the number, then the number will be made available to ANYONE that happens to choose it (and that almost certainly WON'T be you)

  • My Skype number will expire, and it doesn't let me...

    Hi,
    I got a notification that my Skype number will expire in 2 days because my credit card has expired, and that no further charges will occur.  I updated my credit card information and then looked for a place to renew it.  In my account where it shows me my phone number there is a "settings" button, but when I click on it, it just refreshes the page.  There is another button to "Get another Skpe Number" but that only lets me get a new number.  I want to renew my current number subscription because I don't want to lose that number, but there is no place to renew it, unless the "settings" button is the place, but that doesn't work.  I thought it might be a browser or network issue, so I tried from FireFox and Chrome from two different networks and the button still just refreshes.  So, I looked for a support email to email for support and don't see one. 
    Can any one help in directing me where I can renew my skype number before it expires?

    Your topic title states that "Skype number subscription paid... says expired". Your account shows that this Subscription is current and will automatically renew on 05/1/15 unless canceled. Your Unlimited World Subscription is current and will also expire on 05/1/15. It will not renew automatically. Your Unlimited USA/Canada Subscription expired on 12/2/14 [that's why you see a "renew" message]. Your Skype Credit balance is current so you're in good shape to make calls. Sorry about the confusing statements on your account page. Hope this clarifies the situation.

    I really hate the notion of posting to a forum when I want a proper "contact us" on this website.
    Why does Skype tell me that my number is expiring but doesn't allow me to continue the subscription?

    could you please provide screenshots for what you see on your Skype Number tab and in your Skype Number settings, if neither of cases below seems to apply for you?
    Skype Number tab:
    If your Skype Number's expiry date is approaching, three different links can appear where I marked the yellow arrow:
    "Extend" link: if your Skype Number is not billed automatically but you have to pay for each billing period separately. When you click "Extend", you will be redirected to purchase of the same Skype Number for new billing period (you pay > the expiry date will move to 1, 3 or 12 months from your last expiry date).
    This "Expire" link is also displayed if the number has been allocated to you from Skype Manager (company account). In this case you can merely ask your Skype Manager administrator to prolong the number via a form (you will get there by clicking "Extend"), but it has to be manually managed from the admin account in Skype Manager (in Features > Skype Number page of SM admin). You cannot extend the number from your member account in this case.
    "Reactivate" link: if a) you have cancelled your Skype Number, or b) your Skype Number has already expired, you can click "Reactivate". In case of a), you would simply reactivate your number and it would continue to be active. In case of b), you have 90 days of reservation period to pay for your number and then it becomes active again.
    "Settings" link: if you have recurring payment set up for your Skype Number, which means you are billing automatically every 1, 3 or 12 months. Your number can be expiring because the last recurring payment has failed (it can be due to expired credit card, insufficient Skype credit or many other reasons). In this case, you have to go to your Skype Number settings and change payment method, see following screenshot:

    It is the second week running that we have had our Business telephone account dissconnected. We have credit on our account, however our account has expired!!!

    I hope 90 days have not passed since the expiration of your Skype Number subscription ... a number is held on account for 90 days, and if not renewed, is released back into the available number pool.
    Please contact Skype Customer Service as soon as possible - we here in the Community do not have the tools to determine what is or is not active with Skype accountholders' subscriptions.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    A few extra pointers to guide you along the way ...
    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the webform and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail.
    If you are a Skype Premium or other eligible customer, you will be routed to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.

     This is complete and total b.s.  YOU TOOK $18 from my bank.  My payment was successful.., refund me my money Or give my my credits please. I am stuck in a new city new job and no way to contact my family. I could hav bought mi it's for my cell phone but trusted skype.

  • Error message when extending skype number

    Hi guys
    Really hope someone can help me with this. Been dealing with skype chat and email support for hours and hours over last three days with absolutely no progress.
    I have 8 skype numbers within my skype manager account and for some reason, one of them did not renew properly last week (the others renew every month or quarter). When I follow the steps to extend the number within the manager control panel (features, skype number, click on expired number, select "reactive number", pick monthly, quarterly or annual payments), I get the following message.
    Service Unavailable
    We're having technical problems. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again after a few minutes.
    The same message appears on IE, Firefox and Chrome. This is our main office number and its incredibly frustrating for us. If I try to extend via the individual skype account (rather than manager control manager) I either get an error message or a message saying "your request has been sent to your administrator"
    Is there a solution out there? Is this a bug?

    Having same problem.  Spent one hour w/ Chat support, no joy.  Anyone get this addressed, and if so, what did you have to do?
