Expiry Date on Web Pages

How do I get it back to being "forever"
Once the date has been changed from 01-Jan-9999, you cant go back. I can only choose a date 8 years from now, which I realise is probably fine too, but I always hate loose ends, even if small ones.

OK... a little more insight. This is what I found. Non of my titles had non-alphanumeric characters in them, so that wasn't the problem (at least in my case). What I did find though, is that publishing a calendar group produced the wrong 1969 publish date. If I published the individual calendars within the group independently then the publish dates would be correct for each calendar. I suspect that it has something to do with publishing a calendar group specifically. Anyone else out there have a solution or work around?

Set Disable or Expiry Date for web app item via Edit form

I have a user that wants to delete a web app item from a secure zone edit form, but they are not the owner of that web app item. All items in the web app were imported via a csv file and hence do not have a 'submitted by' user id assigned.
Is it possible to Disable a web app item using a web app Edit form? or alternatively, is it possible to set the Expiry Date of a web app item using a web app Edit form?

Sorry Brian, but I'm not sure that answers my question.
Sure, I can create a single web app item for every single client of my customer, manually.
Sure, I can create and 'allocate' that single web app item to each customer manually.
I pray the customer doesn't have hundreds of clients. And I would have to teach my customer how to do this convoluted process for every new client.
But the one thing this doesn't do is answer the question of updating the value of units held.
It seems the order module remains the closes to what I am looking for in that it allows an equation, and is automatically customer specific.
However, I am looking for a way to achieve a single daily update by the customer as to the value of the units held by each client. This can be done via the product module - update price. But this does not update existing orders. Exisitng orders are fixed at the price on the day. The customer wants to update the value once, in one place, and have that amend all existing 'orders' to reflect the new total value of units held by each individual client, and to have this show in each client's member area.
If you can think of a way of doing this in webapps or via the order module, this is what I am looking for. Anyone?

Servlet data to web page

Hi,
I am working with a web page, in which I have created a form for user input. I would like to send a message to a servlet requesting database status to validate the user input prior performing some client side javascript. I just do not know how to transfer the data returned from the servlet into javascript variables. I do not want to post the data or refresh the page, just use the returned data for javascript performed validation. Any help would be appreciated.

I worked fine for me but if you want to be sure you can put you own header information into the HTML in your page. I’m going to ramble on because other people may find this information useful
Things have change with search engines and the only thing that is important is your title information in the header and how you write it.
First let's talk about meta tags. Meta elements are HTML or XHTML elements used to provide information about a web page for the search engines and website users.
Such elements must be placed as tags in the head section of a HTML document. These elements are the:
Title Tag,
Description.
Keywords (No one uses these anymore and you can get spam "points" for overuse of keywords on Bing and Google, so just forget them. If you have keyword stuffed "spammy" ones, you probably want to fix those.)
For now it’s back to the basics with SEO! And nothing is more basically important to a site than properly written title tags. You know the ones that used to appear in the little blue bars in your browsers. Most modern browsers try to conceal these, though that doesn't stop them being helpful!
So what is a title tag? Why is it important to SEO, and how do you write the darn things?
A title tag is THE MOST IMPORTANT SINGLE TAG in your page. It tells the search engines what your page is about. It is still vitally important to paid or organic SEO strategy.
Think of title tags like the title of the chapter of a book. It tells people and search engines what your page is about.
Title tags are also part of what makes people decide whether to visit your site when it shows up in the search results. The title tag should contain important keywords to help the search engine determine what the page is about.
NOTE: Every experienced SEO has their own unique methods to doing this, so I'm going to give you best practices along with some of my methods
When you do a search on Google, the information that shows up is in the title tag so you need to write title tags for humans but format them for search engines.
Every page on your site has an opportunity to rank high on search engines for a particular keyword,
Quick Checklist
When you're writing your title tag what do you need to know? Here's a quick checklist with some tips on how to write optimized title tags:
Length: Title tags should be a maximum of 70 characters long, including spaces.
Keyword Placement: Your most important words (keywords) need to be first in your title tag, with your least important words being last in the title tag (most to least).
Keyword Separation: Use pipes | to separate important (keyword) phrases (no commas, underscores, dashes or any other punctuation unless the keyword is written that way).
Wording: Keep your important phrases short and simple. Leave out words that would make it read like a sentence. (e.g., and, if, but, then, etc.)
Company Name: If your company name is not part of the important (keyword) phrases, put it at the end of the title tag or leave it out. If it is part of your important words, put it as the first words in the title tag. Some SEOs will tell you to leave it out. You can leave it in for branding purposes – so people will see the brand and click. This isn't valid for all sites.
DON'T DUPLICATE Title Tags: They must be written differently for every page. Don't mass replicate your title tags.
Make It Relevant: Title tags must be written to be descriptive of the content on the page. (e.g., the About Page would be:
About | Important Keywords | Company Name
or
Important Keywords | About Us | Company Name.
Google & Title Tags
Sometimes Google doesn't like your title tag. In fact, sometimes Google thinks it can pick a better one, so it will rewrite the tag for you. There are several places it might get this information, most of them you won't prefer to one you crafted yourself.
While there isn't any assurance your title tag won't be replaced, make sure you write a title tag that is page related, content descriptive, short and sweet, and not keyword stuffed. This is your one defense.
Keyword Stuffed Title Tags
You've probably come across badly written title tags that try to rank for everything or repeat a word over and over. Keyword stuffing is the worst offense when it comes to title tags. (You will be penalize)
Say your site is trying to rank for Blue Bells and Yellow Bells. Many times you will see the main keyword repeated multiple times across the title tag. It might appear like this:
Blue Bells, Yellow Bells, All Types of Bells | Bells Bells and More | Doors.com
This is bad title tag writing. You don't need to repeatedly write the keyword. Google especially can pick up the keywords like your eyes can read them, so you would best to rewrite this as
Blue & Yellow Bells | Doorbells | Doors.com
We removed the extra words, combined the products (if possible you would split these products to separate pages, a blue and a yellow, but this isn't always feasible or desirable) and added a category keyword which would appear in the middle of the title tag on all doorbell related page titles, then end it with the domain name (again this is for branding purposes – there are also good reasons to not do this, it depends on the SEO).
Now our title tag is short, sweet, simple, and to the point. We have also categorized it and added in branding for good measure.
We also took out the word "and" and replaced it with an ampersand (&) so that you don't accidentally relate the two items and make Google think you want people who are looking for Blue AND Yellow Bells.
And there you go, a basic lesson in title tag writing. This can be the most challenging and fun part of any SEO's work! Or should that be "Inbound Marketer's" work?
Some Title Tag Writing Examples
Let's look at a few examples of writing title tags with actual examples.
If your important words (keywords) were "Charlie Sheen" and "Winning" your title tag would be written in that order:
Charlie Sheen Winning
Charlie Sheen would be the first words in the tag.
Now what if we had more than one set of words? What if my keywords were "Charlie Sheen Winning" and "Tiger's Blood"? Your title tag would still be written with "Charlie Sheen Winning" as the first words in the tag. Then you would add a pipe | and "Tiger's Blood" as the second phrase:
Charlie Sheen Winning | Tiger's Blood
Don't use hyphens, underscores, commas or any other type of character – just pipes.
Now what if we had more than one set of words and a company name we were not worried about optimizing for (the company name was not part of the reputation issue). If my words were "Charlie Sheen Winning" and "Tiger's Blood" and "CBS", you would separate these three phrases with pipes, with CBS last and farthest from the beginning, which Google sees as the least important phrase:
Charlie Sheen Winning | Tiger's Blood | CBS
The company name can be repeated in every title tag as long as it as not part of the important words and appears at the far right end of the title tag.
What about sentences? Couldn't you just write a sentence such as "Charlie Sheen Says Winning And Tiger's Blood And Gets CBS Riled Up"? You could, but those extra words like "says", "and", and "riled", dilute your important words and make them less important to content, so best to keep it short, simple, and clear. Leave out the extra words.
Once you’re finish with all of this its time to submit you pages to the search engines. You will need to create an XML & HTML sitemap.

Need to grab the data from Web Page and send it to SAP using PI

Hello Experts,
I need to grab the exchanges rates from the below link.
http://www.cbr.ru/scripts/XML_daily.asp?date_req=09-06-2011.
This link returns an XML . I need to get the data from this XML page and post it to SAP ECC using PI.
My requirement is that, process should start from the ECC and grabs the data from the web page which gives you the XML and post this data into ECC using PI. We have a RFC written in ECC side to post the data in ECC.
Please help me to identify the adaptor's needed and what should I need to do to initiate the process from ECC.
Would it be a Async or Sync process ?
I would really appreciate the inputs.

Hi,
Any particular reason that you want to go for a sync process as then you would need to either use a BPM (RFC to BPM where you use sync/async bridge to get the xml file from the specified link and then send the response back to ECC) or go for a synchronous Java proxy on the receiver side which will grab the exchange rates and then map back to the RFC response structure. In this case, you can avoid the BPM.
Else, as mentioned in Michal's blog, you can break it up into 2 seperate scenarios. RFC/Proxy to File and then File to IDoc/RFC/Proxy which will get the exchange rates into ECC.
Another option can be Proxy --> PI --> ECC(IDoc/Proxy/RFC). Here you can grab the exchange rates from the link in your message mapping through a UDF.

Corrupt data on web pages

I have been using Firefox for several years....didn't even know it had upgraded to 7....until last week when I tried to log onto my home page of Hughes Net....it gave me a message that there was corrupt data....try again. Yes you could get onto the page with the second attempt....but logging into my email was the same....and there were odd little dots in front of all my messages. Every web page I went to said the same thing...althought Firefox made it look like the web pages were the problem. It was also very slow and my computer has been since. I uninstalled. Waited a few days, went to the website and downloaded again today....same problem. I have uninstalled again and won't be installing again, til I have a solution...much as I dislike IE. Thanks for any help anyone can send my way !

Thanks, I really did not have the option in Privacy for Show Cookies, but I could click on a button that would allow me to remove cookies and I did remove any that I did not know the web site. I cleared the cashe before that. Stilll the problem...rebooted tried again. Thanks for you help, but it didn't solve the problem and since I have to keep clicking Try Again on the Corrupt Data...it takes up to 4 attempts to get into any way page...I guess I will just uninstall it. I will get over it. I am a nurse....am used to accepting change :) I will just learn to like a new browser. Funny, I never had a bit of problem before the upgrade...

Move data from web page to a crystal report

I am using Crystal Reports 10 and Dreamweaver to create an asp page. I would like to know how to access a crystal report from the asp page and pass the data that is on the asp page to the crystal report. Is this possible?

There is also a very specific sample found on the Diamond site that was originally written by some one in support that should be very useful.<a href="/node/494">http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/494</a>This sample takes an ADO recordset and passes it to a report at runtime. The sample also displays the report in an ASP page. The only change you would need to make is to populate ADO recordset with data from the web form. Sorry I don't have a sample to do that. Rob Horne

How can that be done in iWeb? a spreadsheet, a text file? Would I ftp it, open iWeb every time and edit and repost?

Dean ~ Perhaps use a Google Gadget that you paste into iWeb's HTML Snippet window — then you can update the list directly in a web browser, rather than having to republish your site or re-upload a particular file. i am using ADF 11g 2 release. I have remote application connect with ADF jar lib and local application. when i enter data to my local application and redirect to remote application and enter the data their also. But when I link to local app page via url view but I entered data is not there. I am not commited any page data. In remote app... alos link but there also no data. how to keep them??
all page in taskflow and they connect with control flow case. I made Auto submit true and immediate true for text component.. but no any change.
can not use any setting changes? Need java coding for both application??

I have developed ADF 3 web applications. 2 of them are connect as ADF jar lib files in other application. That application name is local application and other 2 mentioned as remote application(jar lib files). those are in taskflowcall. IN my Local Application which has Application Module. so I selected remote application's Application modules as Application Module Instances. Then in my Local Application DataControl which include that added Application Modules inside the local application DataControl. which are in nested. Remote application DataControl also appear in the local app DataControl.
Problem is I want to save all applications data through my local application. therefore I link to first remote app and enter data but not commit ,then come back to local app.. and enter data and again goto first remote app again, BUT entered data Not there. so I want to keep them and save all 2 remote app data and local app data.

Safari keeps crashing when loading large data on web pages

I have owned my iPad 3 for more than a year now and I have never encountered this problem but ever since I have updated to the latest iOS version(7.1.1), my safari keeps crashing on my community site where threads have maybe over a 100 comments in them.
Now whenever I open a thread page on Safari, it loads for a few seconds then crashes, to make things worse for me is one in a while when it crashes, it reboots my iPad. I have seen several similar questions asked by other people regarding safari crashing when loading large amounts of data and got help saying that there's something wrong with the CSS. or something but I never got any idea on how to resolve this bug.
Can anyone tell me how do I prevent my Safari from crashing everytime I open a thread? Any solutions? Because I am getting really ******.
(Ps: I have already tried other browsing apps such as Google Search and Chrome, they still crash. I even tried letting it load half-way and then stopping it but it isn't going well.)

I have restored my iOS devices a number of times in order to resolve issues and it has gone very smoothly every time. I am not going to lie, it takes a fair amount of time to backup, restore the iOS and then restore from the backup, but it could very well resolve the issue.
On the other hand, it may not help at all. Restoring the software is a standard troubleshooting measure And that is why it is recommended when other suggestions aren't working. But before you restore, there are a couple of other things that you could try,
Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. You will not lose any data when you do this, but it does take some time to enter all of the device settings again, so be aware of that.
Another thing to try is to erase the device and start over. This is different than restoring to factory settings. Reads rhis for more information.

Unkown failure when submitting a form to PHP web page

Hello.
I've been having a following issue when using Adobe Reader X version 10.1.3.23 and the newest version.
An error occurred during submit process. Unkown failure.
This happens when the document is receiving data from web page.
Following javascript is behind the submit button:

In the web page there is a script that processes the data and after that it sends pdf document to the user that has submitted the form:

The problem only occurs on some computers i've tried this form. I have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas?

I believe what you are seeing is the browser caching your page.
If you push F5 to refresh the page, it will then update the date/time.
You can include the following html in your jsp to try and prevent the browser caching it...
