I have an iPhone 4 that was previously on an O2 contract in the UK. The contract is coming up to expiry and I have contacted O2 and they are now currently in the process of unlocking it. The phone was originally purchased through O2, not throught the Carphone Warehouse or other 3rd party.
I am moving to Canada in the near future and was wondering if the phone will work with a Candian Sim Card from a Canadian Network provider (e.g. Rodgers)?

Once it is unlocked, it will work on any GSM carrier in the world. If it's a supported carrier, no changes will need to be made.
If it's an unsupported carrier, then it will be up to that carrier to provide the necessary informationn to get the device working (APN's and such information).

2. open "App Store" application on your macbook. Login and change all the details for card.
3. Login in itunes, iphone ... I will see that all the details are already updated automatically.

I am frustrated beyond words at the iphone support and development team for not giving advance warning to users that the OS on our devices is expiring..
I was over an hour away in a major city enjoying a drive in move with my family, when my wife's device gets a white screen asking her to activate her device. There was NO warning of any kind that the device's OS was expiring or that any sort or activation was or should be needed.
After sever failed attempts including using my working iphone 5 as a hotspot, we decided to wait till we got home and use the WINDOWS PC to restore it.
Once the movie was over we go to wake up my device to find the same issue, now we are over 50 miles away needing to navigate HEAVY construction across a major metroplex with NO access to my devices features besides emergency calls. We did find the way home however, now we find out that we're unable to use iTunes to activate the devices, Verzion says its a known issue and we need to contact apple and apple is closed...
This brings up an important issue, the device needs to have EMERGENCY GPS\MAPS\Navigation functions.
Since I cannot even call a friend I should at least be able to use the maps function with manual input support (no contact list or history access for privacy).

Not sure what your issue is, iOS or Apple products do not have an expiry date. Your service contract with your cellular provide however could expire. Since it happened to 2 phones I would still be questioning the cellular provider.

Help unlocking iPhone.

Hello! I am new here and new in Apple products. Some days ago i got an Iphone 4 from my cousin. He never used it, just a month.
Now the problem is: Its locked on slovenian SIM card, and I need to get it unlocked.
THose are the major problems:
- I don't know which carrier its locked on.
- I don't have a slovenian card to try.
- Itunes recognizes my iphone but gives me that ''the SIM card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported''
- when i turn the iphone on, it stays on that ''emergency call'' screen, and in the background i see the USB cable pointing at a circle which has itunes written in.
- how can i unlock it for free?
Some guy in my class said that i have to send an email to apple, and they will get my iphone unlocked. How do I do this?
Please help me im new to iphones, and apple.

Purchased iPhone on O2 today without realising not out of TMobile contract!

Today I purchased an iphone 3GS at Carphone Warehouse in Central London. I am currently on TMobile and they went through all relevant checks to get me onto O2 etc. However although CPW told me I needed to get a PAC code from TMobile they omitted to tell me that if my contract was not due for expiry I would be subject to penalty chargs from TMobile!
In meantime, I get set up on O2 and buy the iphone etc. But when I phone TMobile to get my PAC code they tell me I am still under contract with them until January 2010 and if I end contract now I will have to pay £160 penalty to do this . . I was livid, not expecting it all. So didn't cancel my contract there and then but decided to go back to CPW for further advice.
Anyway, I go back to CPW to see same guy as I saw when I bought the iphone earlir and tell him not happy he didn't point this out etc. but he tells me there is nothing CPW can do - if I break the contract early with TMobile, I break the contract, simmple as, and if necessary have to pay fees to do it - on the basis that they're losing my monthly business.
I am currently on TMobile Flext 35 tariff - the guy at CPW did suggest I could call them back and ask them to put me on the next tariff down and then ask them to cancel my contract after I've downgraded. as the penalty may work out cheaper.
So right now I am in a dilemma - I really really want the iPhone but don't want to pay £160 to TMobile for the privilege!! I have already paid £96 for the iphone to Carphone Warehouse.
So . .
- should I just wait for my TMobile contract to end in January and cancel my iphone and retrn everything back to Carphone and get my money back? (if I do this won't be able to reapply for an iphone for 3 mths).
- should I ask TMobile if I can downgrade my account to next tariff down, and then call them back to get the PAC code in hope that it will be a smaller penalty?
bottom line is - does anyone know if there is a "backdoor" route around the whole TMobile contract penalty so I don't have to pay £160 . ?
I so want the iPhone but not prepared to shell out more ££ to TMobile.

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortnately I have been a little naive on the contract side of things and assumed you would just be able to leave. Or at least pay a much smaller tariff. I will see what the lowest tariff is that TMobile could put me down to.
One thing - I want to keep my existing mobile number on O2. I wouldnt be able to do this if I kept T Mobile and O2 running at same time would I?

2 months ago I purchessed a new iPhone 5S 32GB, and I also have iPad 4 32GB.
Recently I've been expiriating more and more crashes in both of my devices.
Why this happens and how can I fix it?
I had the iPad and iPhone 4 before the iPhone 5S and I have never experienced something like that so frequently.
It's very stressful that it happens all the time.

Your brother has to remember his Apple ID and password...which will be the same as the iCloud account uses. To activate, you can also have your brother login to his iCloud account and if the iPhone is listed, send an erase signal. That will completely erase his information and you can enter your own.

Help - All Contacts deleted after deleting mobile me account on iphone.

I don't know what has happened but all my contacts have gone from my iphone. The only thing I am conscious of doing is deleting the trial mobile me account from the iphone following the expiry of the trial period. Is there any backup on my computer to recover these? I can't see anything obvious in iTunes. Is there any other way of getting them back?

If the internet connection to your MobileMe online address book is lost for whatever reason (in this case you cancelled your MobileMe account so there was no longer an internet connection to your MobileMe online address book), the contacts on your iPhone don't disappear. The contacts are cached locally so if your MobileMe online address book is not available for whatever reason, you still have access to the contacts to place a call, send an MMS, etc.
When deleting the account from your iPhone, all contacts that had been synced over the air with your MobileMe account are deleted from your iPhone - the cache in this situation. When you first turned Contacts on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account, what happened? If you don't remember, all existing contacts on your iPhone were erased and replaced with your MobileMe online address book. After this, the contacts were being kept synchronized with your MobileMe online address book but not technically stored locally on your iPhone. When you deleted the account, all contacts that had been synced over the air with your MobileMe online address book were deleted with the account.
Since all existing contacts on your iPhone were deleted when first turning Contacts on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account, where did your MobileMe online contacts originate from? Did your MobileMe online contacts originate from the Address Book on your Mac? If not, they should have and should have been kept synchronized between your MobileMe online address book and your iPhone. If so, your contacts should remain in the Address Book on your Mac and you can sync your iPhone direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process. This is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

Cannot watch rental movies on iphone 3gs since downloading OS6

Since downloading 0S6 on an iphone 3gs, I get the message "Cannot Open" for two rental movies, one of which I had watched half of and one which I had not watched at all. The time is now ticking away until expiry on both of them and I'm unable to watch them. I've tried a reset but that didn't work.
I have rung up Apple UK twice and got two different operators, one in the UK and then one in the USA. Both seemed very isolated with no contact with other Apple Mac staff except through computer. One told me to contact iTunes support online (he gave me an url and then realized it was the American url and not for the UK) and the other gave me the same url and told me to contact iphone support online.
Both times I was left waiting for an inordinately long length of time when I suspect the operators were dealing with other calls. In fact, I got the impression, rightly or wrongly, that I was dealing with people who were working from their own homes with minimal training and support and who were being paid for the number of calls they took and, if there was a call like me which didn't come up with a solution on the computer screen, they went on to other calls and left me hanging.
I did manage to find the Apple UK support page on my own but when I tried to contact them the error message "Service Unavailable - DNS failure. The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later. Reference #11.7f2645f.1348163355.65fe47"

I haven't had to contact Apple UK for a year or so but I've never had such an awful, waste of time experience before with people who did not seemed at all trained or given the facilities to handle calls. Can somebody please help me on this or give me an email address for Apple Support UK?

I believe the issue is that you have to be connected to the Internet (the iTunes Store) when you play the movie. I'm not sure if that's just when you initially start the movie or not. This is necessary, I'm assuming, to keep tabs on their time limits for viewing the movie once it's started. You could go to iTunes Store and scroll to the bottom and click on Terms of Use. It's all spelled out there under Rentals.

Welcome to the Apple community Dieumai.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
