  • Our school will soon be requiring ipads.  Is there a video available that is interesting for ages 9-15 that explains the basics of how it works?

I have been struggling to find an exciting and informative video for students ages 9-14 that explains the basics of how to use an iPad.  Everything that I have found either teaches coding of is very slow moving and more appealing to adults.  If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!

    not a video...

  • Explain the term 'If a quantity of goods received is not yet calculated'

    Hi SAP Experts
I read the note: 212286-Overview note: Valuation during goods movements.
    In the end, it reads
"Determination of credit posting to order during the goods receipt for production order During goods receipt for the production order, the value of goods movement is determined by the credit of the production order.
If a quantity of goods received is not yet calculated, credit posting
to order is calculated from plan credit.
If the quantity of goods received is already calculated, the order is credited for actual costs."
Please help to explain the sentence, thanks you.
If a quantity of goods received is not yet calculated, credit posting
to order is calculated from plan credit."
    Regards
    Mike

    Thank Mukthar.
I know the logic for the production, but i don not think the sentence' if the quantity of goods received has not yet been calculated' is apply to the logic of production.
For example, 135103-GR for purchase order in foreign currency: Rounding, In the beginning, it also reads "The problem can occur if the quantity of goods received has not yet been calculated.".
It not only describe the production order, but also describe the purchase order. so i think it apple to one special situation.

  • How to explain the business requirement of a file to rfc scenario

    Hello Experts,
How do i explain the business requirement of
        1. FILE TO IDOC.
        2. FILE TO RFC.
        3. FILE TO JDBC scenarios?
Cud anybody explain me how to explain the requirement of these scenarios in an interview?Cud u pls send me the example for these and the systems involved and the documents involved...helpful answers will be rewarded...
                                                                                    cheers
                                                                                    Jay.
    my mail :  [email protected]

    <b>1. FILE TO IDOC</b>.
When u have ur master data stored in a file thru a legacy system say in some xml format then u may need to have this scenario configured.
    <b>2. FILE TO RFC.</b>
Consider pt1 but here for example consider delete scenario. when u have deleted the mater/transaction u may need to update another file...so in this case u will need to config this scenario...y we cannot use idoc is becoz sync scneario is not possible with idoc but yes with rfc
    <b>3. FILE TO JDBC scenarios?</b>
u have some business data extracted from a file and before u update a r3 transaction u may need to refer a datbase table to read some data baed on keyfield...so u will take a jdbc response and based on that u may validate with the data for r3 updation.
the scenario keeps varying in real life and the above are very few examples of the kind of scenario that would exists in the business world

  • Explain the situation for using  ale , bapi ,session ,call transation, di

what is the use of bdcmsgcall,
if any erroe occur in the legacy records how to rectify it?
In what situation we can go for lsmw.
Kindly explain the situation's for using  ale , bapi ,session ,call transation, direct input.

    Hi ashok,
    chk this.
the functionality of both idoc and bapi are same.
the main difference in BAPI is it is used for Third party application like JAVA, VB etc.
and IDOC is used transfer data from the SAP to sap or non-sap system.
For details refer the contents below
    ALE
ALE is SAP proprietary technology that enables data communications between two or more SAP R/3 systems and/or R/3 and external systems. When a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution such as R/3 is implemented, companies have to interface the ERP system with legacy systems or other ERP systems.
ALE provides intelligent mechanisms where by clients can achieve integration as well as distribution of applications and data.
ALE technology facilitates rapid application prototyping and application interface development, thus reducing implementation time.
The ALE components are inherently integrated with SAP applications and are robust, leading to a highly reliable system.
ALE comes with application distribution/integration scenarios as well as a set of tools, programs, data definitions, and methodologies that you can easily configure to get an interface up and running.
    BAPI
BAPIs provide a stable, standardized method for third-party applications and components to integrate into the Business Framework. These interfaces are being specified as part of SAP's initiative with customers, partners and leading standards organizations. Also, SAP has implemented the emerging Object Application Group (OAG) specifications with BAPIs.
    Session method.
    1) synchronous processing.
    2) can tranfer large amount of data.
    3) processing is slower.
    4) error log is created
    5) data is not updated until session is processed.
    Call transaction.
    1) asynchronous processing
    2) can transfer small amount of data
    3) processing is faster.
    4) errors need to be handled explicitly
    5) data is updated automatically
Session method is to populate the data by filling BDC structure
and keep as session to process from SM37 to post in appropriate Transaction.
Call transaction method is to post the data directly into the Transaction from an Executable program.
Session method SAP defined Function modules.
U can see more help on the differences in the SAP help.
    hope u got an idea.

  • Hi,  can any body explain the concept of UTILIZATION IN EXCISE

    hi,
    sap gurus,
can any body explain the concept of Utilization in excise,  if possible send me the documentation
    part of that please.
please explain me on this also
in direct factory sales from direct factory to customer how utilisation works
in depot sales: first material has to reach from factory to depot and then it has to be passed to
customer then in this situation  how utilisation works in SAP.
    regards,
    balaji.t

    Dear balaji
Export under Rebate is the procedure in which the exporters first pay the central excise duty before clearing the goods from the factory and subsequently get it back by applying for rebate after the goods are exported.  They have to apply to the Division or to the Maritime Commissioner (designated exclusively to look after all Export related issues) as the case may be, along with the required documents (usually the Export Promotion copy of the Shipping Bill and Bill of Lading) to prove that their goods had actually been exported.
Rebate can be claimed for both the inputs (purchased from indigenous markets and used in the manufacture of exported goods) as well as for the final products.  Normally, rebate is being widely opted by non-excise assessees (for example garment exporters) who procure raw materials locally, manufacture their final products and export them.   It is similar to Drawback of Customs duties in respect of Imported raw materials.
From SD side, you have to make settings in Logistics-General --> Tax on Goods Movements --> India --> Business Transactions --> Outgoing Excise Invoices --> Maintain Default Excise Groups and Series Groups.
Here for the combination of sales area, shipping point, plant, excise group and series group, you have to maintain Export type [N under the tab Export]
    thanks

Please read this popular example appended below. I am newbie to ABAP.
At the end of the execution the code is printing 33. Don't get it.
Please explain,  the job of the  "ASSIGN COMPONENT ". How or why it is printing value 33.  What is the meaning of the statement, "ASSIGN COMPONENT <F2> OF STRUCTURE <F1> TO <F3>." ?

  • Could you explain the work flow logic in dispute management

    Hello,
Could any one explain the the work flow logic in dispute management .
When will the first work flow initiate and who will recive the first notification and what are the action he/she usually perform. How it trigger to next level and what is the events consider for the next work flow trigger.
If some one could share a real work flow example in line with Dispute management will be great...
    regards
    Sibichan

Dispute management workflow will help to automate business process.
When some action or information is expected form individual or department then
Workflow can be triggered on editing some field in dispute case and workitem is send
to individual or group, So that they can respond to it.
We can use function email notifications to speed up the process.
Based on organizational needs triggering events can vary.

  • Can anyone explain the advantage of entity beans

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone can explain the advantage of entity beans versus session beans. We argue that session beans can perform retrival/storage more efficiently than having an extra layer of entity beans. Basically we can't see any advantage entity beans have to offer except caching a row in a database table. I'd like to see the other side of the argument. So please if someone is an expert in this field, please advise us.
Thanks in advance for any argument
    Regards,
    Di

    -Caching the data is one.
-Seperation of logical layer. Entity beans are used to represent the data layer, while session beans hold the business rules. This is some what nebulous as some business rules are often best implement directly in the database, although they might be replicated at a different level as well.
-Mapping a logical layout to a physical layout. For example 'customer' might have a 'fax' and 'voice' line which is represented as a Customer class with two TN classes hanging off of it. The database might represent this in one of two ways: two tables (customer and TN) or one table (customer with two tn fields).
Both of the above are more readily apparent when dealing with distributed data. If one database holds the customer and another holds the TNs, then caching of data is more relevant and dealing with the actual CRUD stuff is much more complicated. This is likely to lead to a session bean offloading the logic to another class anyways - and it becomes a defacto bean.
And a really excellent example is when the entity bean represents data that isn't accessed via normal database calls. For example the customer record might be on a legacy system which can only be accessed via screen scrapping and batch input. That single customer entity is now the front end for a large sub-system.
All such answers are usually pretty wishy-washy anyways. Why should one use java over C++? Most decisions of this nature are made because developers want to use something rather than because there is any strong technical reason to do so. And even though keeping the data layer seperate for the rules layer seems like a good idea, compromises are always required and adding layers adds complexity.

  • Can someone explain the hyperthreading settings in cmos (the 4x,5x, etc.)?

Someone once said admitting you don't know something is the first step on the road to knowledge....or something like that
Can someone explain the hyperthreading setting in the CMOS Setup - mine is set to 5x, which I think is correct for my cpu - Venice 3500+, but I don't really know what it does.  What does that setting affect?  I think it was 4x by default, until I loaded optimal settings, and it went to 5x.....

    HT = Hyper Transport
    Q: What is HyperTransport™ technology?
A: HyperTransport™ technology is a new high speed, high performance point-to-point link for interconnecting integrated circuits on a motherboard. It can be significantly faster than a PCI bus for an equivalent number of pins. HyperTransport was previously codenamed Lightning Data Transport, or LDT. HyperTransport technology was invented by AMD and perfected with the help of several partners throughout the industry. It is primarily targeted for the IT and Telecomm industries, but any application where high speed, low latency and scalability is necessary can potentially take advantage of HyperTransport technology. HyperTransport technology was invented in order to unleash the tremendous power of the AMD microprocessors. HyperTransport is planned to bring the computation experience to a  new level.

Read detailed information for work breakdown structures
    Functionality
You use this method to read detailed information about project definitions and the WBS elements of certain projects from the system.
    Notes
Enter the project definitions and/or the WBS elements, which you want detailed information about, in the parameter PROJECT_DEFINITION or I_WBS_ELEMENT_TABLE respectively.
If you only enter project definitions, the details of all the WBS that belong to the project definitions are read including the hierarchy. If you explicitly enter WBS elements, only these are read.
Messages are returned in Return parameters. For information about the return values and their meaning, see the parameter documentation.

  • Can anyone explain the functionality of FM f4ut_parameter_get_values ?

Can anyone explain the functionality of FM f4ut_parameter_get_values ?
This is used in search help to retrive values from screen. This doesnt seem to work for me

    hi,
    check this
    F4UT_PARAMETER_VALUE_GET
    Short Text
Standard search help exit for determining contents of a srch help par.
FunctionalityBy calling this module in a search help exit, you can find out the current contents of a search help parameter . To do this, you must pass the name of the parameter in PARAMETER.
You must distinguish between the parameter contents that are used in the selection process of the input help process and the parameter contents that are determined by the selection process and the user selection.
Parameter contents that are used in the selection process are default values of search help parameters, values that are included in the input help process by attaching the search help to the screen from field contents of the screen or its module pool, and possibly complex restrictions made by the user in the dialog box for restricting value. Such parameter contents can also be included in the input help process by the search help exit itself.
The contents of the specified parameter used in the selection process are stored as complex restrictions in SELOPT_TAB after the call. If exactly one value is defined by these complex restrictions (for example if the restrictions have exactly one row and if SIGN = 'I' and OPTION = 'EQ' for this row), this unique value can be found in VALUE.
Parameter contents that are determined by selection process and user selection are the parameter contents that are shown in the dialog box for displaying the hit list or returned on the screen. They are managed by the F4 processor in RECORD_TAB.
This module enables you to transfer the information about the specified parameters from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB in edited form.
Pass the name of the field of RESULTS_TAB that should contain the contents of the parameter to the function module in parameter FIELDNAME. If the row type of RESULTS_TAB is elementary, pass the value '*' in FIELDNAME. The rest of RESULTS_TAB is not changed. The values are copied row by row. By removing rows at the end or by adding intiial rows you can make sure that RESULTS_TAB has exactly as many rows as RECOD_TAB.
    Example
You can find an example of the second kind of use of the module in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT of search help SFLIGHT.
Both types of use can be found in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT_MIN_FR of search help SFLIGHT_MIN_FREE .
    Notes
    1. Parameters OFF_RESULT and LEN_RESULT should not be used any more since there are basic problems when using UNICODE. The contents of these parameter are still analyzed when parameter FILEDNAME is initial for compatibility reasons.
    2. Only the dialog box for restricting values can normally produce complex restrictions for a parameter.
    3. If VALUE has the value SPACE, this means that either there are complex restrictions for the parameter or the unique contents are SPACE. SELOPT_TAB must be evaluated in order to determine which of these is the case.
    4. If the search help does not have any parameter with the given name, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN is triggered.
    5. Only parameter contents for the search help displayed in the hit list or the EXPORT parameters of the search help are first managed in RECORD_TAB. If the specified parameter does not satisfy one of these conditions and if parameter RESULTS_TAB is specified in the call, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN can also be triggered. This is not true, however, if results were already entered for the parameter with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_RESULTS_PUT or if space was reserved for the parameter in RECORD_TAB with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_ALLOCATE. The parameter therefore should only be defined if information about the parameter contents are really required.
    6. The header lines of the specified parameter are also transferred from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB.
    7. The other parameters of this module must be defined as the parameters of the search help exit having the same name, but they are not changed by this module.
    8. RESULTS_TAB should be a standard table.
    9. The contents of the specified parameter in RECORD_TAB are copied to the specified field of table RESULTS_TAB with a MOVE of the correct type. If this is not possible, the target field is assigned the initial value.
    10. If RESULTS_TAB has no field with the name specified by FIELDNAME, only the number of rows of RESULTS_TAB is adjusted to those of RECORD_TAB as described.
