Explaning the concept or roles, groups and owners

Hi, i'm trying to find any documentation which explains theses concepts i 've tried the oracle library but it was no results.
Can anyone help me?
I'm trying to undestand that.

Hello,
have you gone through the BPM tutorial:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/tutorial/index.html
It gives some basic understanding of the implementation ofthe roles and groups.
If you are looking for further material on the topic then look into the following material on studio:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/studio/index.html
Check the documentation for organization.
Hope this helps,
Regards,

  • Explanation of Process Default Roles: Administrator and Owner

    HI experts,
I am having some trouble understanding the reason of the existence of the process default roles:
    Administrator and Owner.
In the CAF-GP Security guide, it says that the Standard Process Role Administrator can "Maintain process instances using the GP administration tools"; what this means ?
My user has de GP Administration role and it DOESN`T have  the Standard Process Role Administrator from ANY process, and I can maintain ALL the process instances from the Administration workset, I don´t need to have the Standard Process Role Administrator assigned to me.
The same happens with the Standard Process Role Owner ; the Security Guide says the person who is assigned that role can "Maintain process instances"; my question is:  If i assign the "Owner" role to a user that doesn´t have the GP Administrator role and this user wants to "Maintain Process instances" where he has to go? because he won´t have the administration workset !.
    Best regards,
    Marco.

    Hi Marco,
    First, check this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/d9/273a4209a6ae04e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
That will explain better the role of each role.
Itu2019s important to you understand that each process may have a responsible person (admin or overseer) that will monitor the progress of the process.
And you will have a u201CBASISu201D person that will have the GP Administrator role. This role allow to maintain process (with other kind of operations like terminate, complete step, etc.), maintain background queues, archiving, transport of objects, configurations, schedule and other admin tasks for all GP infrastructure.
    Regards,
    Reward points if itu2019s helpful.

  • Group and Owner fields blank when viewing Service Request results via UWQ

When looking at a row that represents a service request in either the UWQ or View Service Requests (search form) the group and owner columns are blank only for some of my users.
If you look at the detail for the SR, there is a owner and group.
Not sure what the issue is..? Inherited this role.

Which release is this occuring? At the first glance it looks like an issue that cropped up in 11.5.3. and has been fixed since.

  • Roles, Groups and Class of Service

    Hi,
I am new to LDAP, have a good RDBMs background. I have read the Sun documentation to understand the concepts. Can someone recommend a good source that provide examples on how to set up Roles, Groups and Class of Services.
    Thanks,

Directory Server documentation set contains the best examples to my knowledge.
You may want to start with the Deployment Guide for introduction to the concepts and Administration Guide for setting them up and examples.

  • Home directories on NIS clients show "NOBODY" for group and owner

    Hi,
I recently changed 10 clients from an old NIS server (running Solaris 7!) to a new one (running Solaris 10).
All my clients log on through NIS and mount their home directories OK, but when you do a ls -l it shows all files as having the owner and group as "nobody".
I am guessing this has to do with the NIS maps, or auto_home or something, but I keep going around in circles.
    FROM CLIENT:
    $ ls -l
    total 14
    drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nobody 4 Sep 11 14:46 Desktop/
    drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nobody 2 Sep 11 14:46 Documents/

    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nobody 174 Sep 11 13:07 local.profile
    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nobody 33 Sep 11 14:51 test
    FROM SERVER
    nisserver # ypcat auto.home
    nisserver # ypcat auto.master
    auto.home -nobrowse
    -hosts -nosuid,nobrowse
    nisserver # ypcat -x
    Use "passwd" for map "passwd.byname"
    Use "group" for map "group.byname"
    Use "project" for map "project.byname"
    Use "networks" for map "networks.byaddr"
    Use "hosts" for map "hosts.byname"
    Use "ipnodes" for map "ipnodes.byname"
    Use "protocols" for map "protocols.bynumber"
    Use "services" for map "services.byname"
    Use "aliases" for map "mail.aliases"
    Use "ethers" for map "ethers.byname"

    Darren,
Yes. The clients are Solaris 10 as well. And the domain is the same on both server and clients.
The files should be owned by real users.
If a user ssh's into the server directly, the permissions display properly. But on the clients it is nobody. Other than the permission displaying wrong, I haven't noticed any permission-related restrictions on the clients.

  • What is the difference between function groups and Object Orientation

    Hello all
I have read about this on the help.sap.com site, I still do not understand it completely, can some one explain me with  a simple example please ? (Not the increment counter example please !).
    Thanks a ton.
    Rgds
    Sameer

    Hello Sameer
When you call a module of a function group for the first time in your program then the entire function group is loaded. However, this can happen only once within your report and all global variables within the function group will have the same values all the time (except they are manipulated via fm's).
In contrast, you can create as many instances of the same class as you want and all of them can have different global attributes. And all these instances are independent of each other.
On the other hand, if fm_A changes global attributes of the function group and fm_B reads these attributes then fm_B read the changed values.
    Or in other words:
Function Group = can be instantiated only ONCE
Class = can be instantiated unlimited

  • The concept of http persistent and non-persistent

pls somebody explain me the concept of "keepalive type http".
when and where configure the persistent and non-persistent? not clear from the doc that HTTP-head, HTTP-get, classA and classB.
    Thanks in advance.

Persistent will use HTTP version 1.1 while non-persistent will use version 1.0.
Use non-persistent only if your server does not support http version 1.1.
HTTP method HEAD or GET is selected with the command 'keepalive method'.
A head does not require the server to send us the content of the requested file, but simply an acknowledgement that the file is available.
The GET will request the complete file from the server and the CSS will verify that the content did not change compare to first GET request.
Again, I would recommend the default - head, unless you believe somebody could corrupt the content of your website.
    Regards,
    Gilles.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHRASE GROUP AND PHRASE SET?

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHRASE GROUP AND PHRASE SET?

    Hi Ramya,
Definition of a Phrase group is a number of phrases contained in a phrase library grouped according to logical criteria. A phrase can be assigned to only one phrase group.
Phrase set is grouping of phrases for a purpose which includes allowed phrases for a value assignment type and Default phrases for a value assignment type. A phrase can be assigned to a number of phrase sets.

  • Affinity goup, availability set and the concept of Update Domain and Fault Domain

Can 2 VM belonging to the same affinity group, belong to the same
    availability set?
    I have read (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7916.importance-of-windows-azure-affinity-groups.aspx)
Affinity groups are logical abstraction of the physical concept of
Containers (unit of compute) in Microsoft Datacenters.
How do then Update Domains and Fault Domains relate to this concept of Container?
Are there multiple Fault Domains in a Container?
    Thanks,
    Davide

    Hi Davide,
    Thanks for posting!
    >>Can 2 VM belonging to the same affinity group, belong to the same
    availability set?
The answer is no. Base on my understanding, affinity group is to keep your VMs physically closer together within the datacenter. And your 2 VMs may be in one host OS. But if you use the Availability Set,  it could guarantees that your 2 VMs are
spread across multiple racks in the Windows Azure Data Centers.
    >>How do then Update Domains and Fault Domains relate to this concept of Container?
    >>Are there multiple Fault Domains in a Container?
For this issue, I recommend you refer to this documents  (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-manage-availability/
    ) and this blog (http://michaelwasham.com/windows-azure-powershell-reference-guide/understanding_configuring_availability_sets_powershell/

  • Changing the sequence of roles/groups for Portal users after Login

    Hi
We are at EP 7.0 SP11.
We have developed custom role for ESS, MSS, EIC and Reports etc.
Now when all the 3 roles are assigned to any user, the sequence of the display is generally
Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service and then EIC.
We need to change this sequence in Dev QA and production environment for some users preferably (or for all portal users), so that the 1st page which loads in portal after user logs in , is not necessary ESS.
The requirement can also be considered as, we need to change the default page which displays after user logs in.
Does someone have any idea how can we achieve this ?
    Looking forward for your response.
    Thanks
    Neha

    Hi Neha,

When we use TELNET to login the server, we can see the file is created by another user(user2).What is the file? What kind of file system you have? Please post the steps you follow to explain your question.
How to understand both two users, and how to be relationship between those? If the file was created by one user, the ownership of the file will belong to the same user who created the file. If you see a different behavior, please show the case by listing the steps -- (i.e. post the commands of --> login to the server as user1, create a file as user1, show the id of the user and use the ls command to show the ownership, then login to the server as user2 and issue the same ls command).

  • Concept of groups vs concept of roles

    Hi!
I'm designing an LDAP structure mainly for authentication and authorization of users. I want to use the LDAP server for applications, intranet (different platforms like linux, NT, ...) and portals.
I read the Admin guide about groups and roles and found, that there aren't that many reasons for using roles instead of groups. The only real difference is (as I understood) that when using roles, I don't have to search for the the groups a user is member of, because every user contains the nsrole attribute with all the roles he is member of.
One big reason for not using roles is, that they are quite specific for iPlanet Directory Server. If one ever changes to another product (for example OpenLDAP) the roles concept may or may not be the same. When using groups I don't have that problem.
(If my information about that is incorrect please conradict!)
A mixture of groups and roles is a quite bad idea because if I put a group in a role, the "nsrole" attribute is added only to the group but not the the members of the group, so if I use roles, I should stick to them and should not use any groups.
As I told at the beginning, I am planning an LDAP structure. I don't have any "real life LDAP-experience" so if your experience is different, please tell me.
Thanks in advance for your opinion!
    Florian

    1. Why there could be a problem without scopes in
groups. If I have two companies and each of them has
a group "employees". Two companies would probably be
separated in two different subtrees, so I just use a
dynamic group, where I can specify a subtree where
groupmembers can be located or I use static groups,
where I define each entry. You see, you had to make a choice on which group type you could use - not because one was more convenient for defining members for the problem at hand, but because only one would work at all.
One thing I did not mention about roles advantages: they all work the same way - if a new role type were invented, applications written to work with roles prior to the new role, would still work with that role type. Groups types are so different that forward compatibility is not possible - mostly because to even use groups, applications have to do all the work to do common things like, enumerate the group, enumerate the groups an entry belongs to, test for group membership etc.
    >
    2. The coding logic for group evaluation with dynamic
and static groups and even mixtures of it is quite
complicated, it is much easier to ask an entry for a
roledn and thats it, but do most clients support
roles? Probably not. But then roles have not been around as long. I don't have any hard data on how many apps use roles - you would be surprised how hard it is to get that data for a developer.
As far as I know roles are not used in any
other LDAP Server. Well, the Sun DS, and the Netscape DS (which admittedly were once the same thing) both support the same roles.
    So you can optimize an
applications implementing a role based queries, but
if you have a OpenLDAP environment you also need a
possibility to use groups. Talk to the OpenLDAP people about that. I believe they (at one time at least) decided to support the Netscape slapi interface - roles have interface components in that api.
I do understand what you are saying - there isn't an RFC, so other servers don't support roles. Well, I'm sorry, I never got around to it. To be perfectly frank, a lot of LDAP RFCs/Drafts merely describe some proprietary mechanism which other servers never adopt. Some even describe mechanisms that nobody has ever implemented.
When it comes down to it, it is only you who can decide whether being able to move to OpenLDAP or some other server without any reimplimentation is an important consideration. Every server will have features not supported by others, and if your choice is to use only those that are commonly supported, then that is your choice.
Roles will allow much less complex coding in order to use them and they are much faster than equivalent client side operations, but the price is non-comformance with other servers. But when that non-conformance simply boils down to entries which merely "describe" the groups without adding application level functionality - how much have you really lost? Well, until you need to change server vendor you have only gained, and then you'll need to put in the effort you saved ealier.
    On the other side, what
application do support roles right now? (I really
don't know)Apart from applications by vendors that also supply DS I don't know either - but support for features such as this need to come from customers of those products. It is surprisingly simple to add support for roles in a product (for most it will almost be free) - much simpler than for groups.
