Hi Mush25-
I had to step back from this and take a different approach.
While tossin' down some aspirins, I worked on my other niece's
laptop to upgrade to FP10 and troubleshoot. Identical to T2, but
with more Yahoo stuff: homepage, toolbar, chat, etc.. Turns out she
had already done it via Adobe yes/no prompt. No issues, everything
works OK. She said it only took a few minutes. I checked it out and
checked the settings, it's OK. Go figure.....
So, I will approach this as a problem with Manual
Downloading, which you and I did (not sure about Morac).
The HP desktop? We don't normally use IE7 on it, as it is AOL
Dial-up only, so few/no cookie issues on IE7. I kicked in IE7 and
FP10 worked OK. Well, as OK as dial-up video can be....
OK- a question for ya, this will tell me if I'm on the right
track: On your first FP10 upgrade, did you FIRST uninstall FP9, or
download/install OVER FP9? Please answer honestly....no judgements
here...
I didn't uninstall first- I admit it! I never do for Adobe
and Java, as I want to make sure the new version/upgrade works OK
before losing the old. I was on the old dial-up for too long, I
guess. There are exceptions, of course, like AVG.
Let me know.

  • Two Copies of Flash Player in Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2 ?

    Hi,
I use Secunia PSI to validate the currency of my software. It reported Flash player to be down level.
I updated to the new version and Secunia PSI still reported the program to be downlevel.
The flash player test reports WIN 10 0 42 34 installed.
It looks like my Vista Ultimate 64 bit should have copies of flash player at these two locations:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW\Macromed\Flash
    and
    C:\Windows\System32|Macromed\Flash
The folder Macromed doesn't exist at the System32 location
If I need the 32 bit version where do I find it? And, How do I install It?
    Thanks
    Frank C

    Thanks for the reply Mvargas1.
That certainaly is confusing - System 32 is for 64 and WOW 64 is for 32!
Both my Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers seen to be working with Flash Player OK.
I uninstalled and re-installed Flash Player and Secunia no longer finds a down level version.
    Thank You

  • Windows Vista and Flash Media Server Streaming Problems

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to
    stream audio and video content.
My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no
streaming content will play at all. Simple Flash animations work,
but nothing that accesses the Flash Media Server for content. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of the Flash Player
on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new
"Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32"
folder and ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed
all of the available updates through "Windows Update".
I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com
and they don't play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or
know what I need to do to fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in
the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.

This appears to be the solution:

  • Installation Flash cs3 with Windows Vista Ultimate

I am trying to use Flash on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Installing the program tells me a mistake "error in the
installation component". I have tried to install in administrator
    mode and windows account manager
Can anyone tell me how to install Flash for suite cs3?

I would download a new installer, you can get the trial
installer, then just enter your serial when you first run it.
Sounds like a corrupt exe. But yes, make sure and run as
Administrator by right clicking the file.

I even get this message when i try to unistall iTunes. I completly uninstalled my antivirus software and removed all firewalls, but i wasnt able to fix the problem.

  • Vista Ultimate: 64-bit Installation Problem

Ok so I'm trying to install vista ultimate 64 bit, and when boot camp tells me to insert the disk, I did, then It restarted and when booting, it came to a black screen with white text saying:
    1.
    2.
    *+Select cdrom boot type:+*
The problem here is that I can't type a darn thing! They keyboard doesn't do anything at all, and not even plugging in a usb keyboard worked.
For those who will ask, yes, I have a genuine copy of Vista Ultimate 64-bit which includes a 32 bit version, but I'd rather NOT use the 32 bit one, because hey, I've paid for the one with 64 for a reason.
Does anybody know what to do here? Is there a fix or am I screwed?

Microsoft, Apple and Intel belong to the EFI group. That isn't to say that they implement the same. Some Macs have EFI64 (2.x, UEFI), some have EFI32 (1.x).

  • HREF track problem QT7/Vista ultimate

    Hi - Using QT7 + Vista Ultimate + IE7
Trying to use HREFTracks to get a movie playing in one frame to load html files into another frame.
I spent hours trying to get this to work under vista, but the target attribute "frame_right" did not cause the page to be loaded in "frame_right" but in a new window. In fact, whatever target attribute was applied to the HREFTrack, it still loaded the file into a new window.
In desperation, I tried the same thing on a machine running WIN XP Pro + QT7 + IE7 and surprise surprise it works fine.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
If Not, is apple aware of the problem and likely to do anything about it if it is QT prob? or get microsoft to do something about it if not?
    Thanks in desperation - Hugh

    probelm solved - QT7.2 plug-in doesnt work - QT 7.4 does

  • Flash in Firefox with Vista Ultimate Works a while then stops working until restart

I recently got a new computer with Vista Ultimate. I
downloaded all the patches and installed the latest versions of
    Firefox (2.0.0.4) & Flash Player (9.0.45.0). I have the
following add-ons loaded in Firefox: Firebug 1.05, Greasemonkey
0.7.20070607.0), Tab Mix Plus (0.3.6), Talkback (2.0.0.4), DOM
Inspector (1.8.1.4). This is the process that happens.
    1) Connect to the computer in questoin using RDP
    2) Launch Firefox and go to a site like Youtube or MySpace.
It works great. Everything plays that I click on.
    3) Disconnect from RDP and reconnect.
    4) The Flash plays never work again. They will typically
start a show for 2-10 seconds and then just "halt". This is every
movie I view off of either YouTube or MySpace. Even if I close the
Myspace & YouTube tabs and open them in a new clean tab.
If I close Firefox and reopen it everything starts working
again. Again this appears to work until I disconnect from RDP
    again.
What is going wrong here? What can I do to fix this or upload
data dumps so this can get fixed?

    hallo
I have a photosmart C148x. It stops while printering. In the mean time on the display of the machine it says printing.....

  • Flash 8 Pro & Vista Ultimate

I have been seeing some very funny issues runny Flash 8
Professional and Windows Vista Ultimate version.
The system responds very slow, generating Movie Clips I am
now seeing a strange box appear from the center of the screen and
works it way out to the edge before I go into the MovieClip
timeline. This may take as long as a minute. And the Flash
enviornment seems to operate much slower than before.
Has anyone else seen any of these issues. Is Adobe aware of
this. It seems there may be a compatability issue with Windows
Vista. As popular as Flash is as a development tool you would think
that a patch or and update would have been in the works for the
    release of Windows Vista.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciate.

There have been others posting about issues with Vista and
    Flash. I'm sure
that Adobe is working on something. You may want to contact
    Adobe support.

  • LR2 (&LR1.4) on Vista Ultimate vs XP Pro-problems

I have been reading the posts on a number of Sites regarding problems users are experiencing with LR2. Here is may tale:
I recently bought new hardware(replacing my XP Pro system) with the following features:
    O/S Vista Ultimate
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6700GHz 2.67 GHz
    Memory 4.00 GB
    System Type 32-bit Operating system
I have LR 1.4 and LR 2 installed on both the old XP machine and the new Vista one.
There are two problems(at least for now) I am experiencing with both LR 1.4 and LR 2 on the Vista machine:
    1. Quite frequently when I am working on images LR suddenly goes into "Not Responding" and I have wait up to a minute or more while it sorts itself out.
    2. Speed of operation (esp. sliders). If I am editing an image in Develop Mode when I move any of the sliders (e.g. Exposure etc.) I move the slider and then the # value has to catch up with the slider - very anoying and time consuming. Is this called sticky sliders?
As I mentioned, neither of these problems are present when I use my old XP Pro machine.
I should also point out that I have not had the same problems with PS CS3.
It seems to me that either there is something wrong with the way I have my new machine configured or there is a coding problem in LR that affects its performance when installed on a Vista machine.
    Can anyone shed some light?
    Thanks, Alan

Turn off superfetch in Vista. It automatically fills your unused ram with stuff you "might" need later. A program like Lightroom uses lots of RAM so Vista constantly refresshes the superfetch use. If you turn it off Lightroom runs much more smoothly.
You can also turn down the indexing in the power management properties to "power saver". This will limit the amount of times Vista accesses the HDD to index new files. Make sure you have upgraded the indexing engine to v4 as it is much better in managing the resources it needs to perform.
Disabling Aero helps performance of LR. There's a registry hack that allows you to get a right click context menu to turn it on and off easily.

  • QuickVPN from Vista Ultimate to WRVS440N (vpnserver.conf problem?)

Hi: I just installed a wrvs440n at home. Works great and I can remotely administer it no problem. I'm trying to set it up so I can VPN into my home network when I'm remote with my laptop running Vista Ultimate. I try to connect with the QuickVPN client. The WRVS440N is running latest firmware from linksys website (as of 12/28/07) and I have the latest QuickVPN client installed (1260).
It seems to work but after it goes through to the point of "Veryfying Network" it just hangs for awhile. Then it kicks up a message saying, "The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait?"
The only clue I have is in the status.conf file located in the QuickVPN client program folder. It says, "All 1 wget requests did not return a valid vpnserver.conf".
There are several files in the QuickVPN client folder that get written during an attempted VPN connection. I copied them to the following link along with the LOG file from my WRVS440N router.
    http://webpages.charter.net/rwpatterson357/temp/a/
    What can the problem be?
    best regards,
    russ
p.s.  I tested it with the QuickVPN client from an XP Pro machine running SP2.  Same exact result.
Message Edited by rwpatterson357 on 12-29-2007 01:27 PM

Where do I get different versions of QuickVPN?  I'm running the latest version from Linksys website.
All firewalls are disabled including everything I could think of disableing on the wvrs440n.
After an unsuccesful attempt at connecting i do not have a good network connection.  Even after a reboot I don't.  I have to disable the computers network adapter, reboot, and then re-enable the network adapter.  I don't know what it is doing but Quick VPN seems to torpedo my system.  Same result on both my Vista Ulmitate laptop and XP Pro SP2 laptop.
Is there a better router/VPN solution out there?  I really don't want to mess with this for 3-4 days just hoping to make it work.  I need something that will function and do so reliably and without requiring me to be a computer engineer.

  • T500 + Vista Ultimate Audio (Headphones) problem

My new T500 running windows vista ultimate seems to be having some audio issues. The inbuilt speakers work fine and I hear everything well. However, if i plus any external speaker or headphones to the computer's headphones jack, there is no effect. The sound still comes from the inbuilt speakers instead if the headphones.
I tried uninstalling the audio driver but it does not solve the problem. When I look into the device manager, it reports that the audio device is working properly.  I still tried to install the driver but the driver installation fails.
    any ideas or suggestions?

Too bad Apple can't write software to run on Windows.
    iTunes is s h i t.
I guess they don't care about Vista uesers

  • Vista Ultimate 64 bit problems with staticy audio or completely missing audio in gam

I've been having consistent problems with my X-FI board under 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate. What's weird about it is that every time Creative comes out with a new driver, my problem goes away for about a day then comes back.
    Here's what I have:
    Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard
    Athalon 64 Dual Core processor
    4 GB of memory
Windows Vista Ultimate (recenly patched to SP)
The problem I'm encountering is that only when I have the full 4 GB of memory enabled I get static at the end of every Windows sound. For gaming, it's a crap shoot - sometimes it works, others I have to restart the game multiple times or reboot the machine to get any audio at all.
I contact Creative but they categorically refused to provide email-based support since the board was out of warranty - they suggested the forums (I'd looked but not found anything that helped) or a pay per use tutorial (I don't need a tutorial, I know how to use the card).
Any suggestions? Again, as soon as I switch to 3 GB of memory - works like champ. Switch on the full 4 GB and it hardly works. I turned off the cool & quiet feature of my mobo. Updated all the drivers I can find. I'm at a loss for ideas. Help?

    And???
We can't help you if you don't tell us what you tried
and what happened when you tried it.This is message when try run on vista ultimate x64 "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000018). Click OK to terminate the application."
you can help??? what is happen???
