Explosion effect for single Image in Flash CS5

Hello All,
I was hoping for assistance on how to recreate an explosion effect like Flash 8 adn MX used to have. It seems to be missing now. It is not in the presets. I tried to break apart but something is missing. How can I accomplish this? I am trying to explode and IMAGE not TEXT. Particle tutorials seem to explode into hundreds of parts. Im looking for 12 to 16 exploded pieces. I'm not the great at AS2 or 3 but any assistance would be appreciation. Again this is for an image not text so the simple Break apart doesnt seem to be working. Please note I am Using Flash CS5.

Thanks for the response but that is not what I need. I need to explode or better yet Break apart a simple image into maybe 12 or 16 pieces and move them off the screen. This used to be done by a Explode effect that was in an older version of Flash. I do not want to download additional software (tweenmax?). but I am ready to try simple AS3 or AS2 code if there is not way to do this. Again this in NOT text and I already tried to break it apart in small symbols but the whole image moves instead of the small piece I broke apart. Please help

Resampling/sharpening script for single images

I ask a lot of questions in this forum, but rarely have anything to offer back. Here's an offering that may come in useful in certain situations.
Muppet Mark, a talented Applescript writer, has put together a script to my specifications for resampling and sharpening single images in InDesign. It works in CS2, 3 and 4.
The operation is as follows:
1. You select the image in InDesign.
2. The script resamples to an effective ppi (at printed size) of 300.
3. The script then calls on an Action SHARPEN which applies sharpening via a Smart Unsharp Mask. An edge mask is also applied.
The process is non-destructive, so if the default sharpening is not quite right, it can easily be changed by opening the image in PS.

How do I save an image and text as one image in InDesign CS5.0? NOT 5.5.
I need to save the image as a 72-dpi, jpg file for ePub purposes. I designed a book and am handing it off to someone for ePub.
This is what I've tried:
1) Copied from InDesign, pasted into a PhotoShop doc as a Smart Object. Saved it as 72 dpi jpg, then imported back into ID.
2) Took a screenshot of ID page, placed it in PS, saved as 72 dpi, imported into ID
3) Saved page as a PDF from InDesign, then saved PDF as 72 dpi jpg, then imported into ID.
4) Save page as a PDF from InDesign, placed into Photoshop and saved
as 72 dpi, then imported into ID.
5) Saved as an EPS from InDesign, placed in PS, then imported back to ID.
In all cases, the type looks terrible. It doesn't seem to matter whether I copy or place into Photoshop, though placing is slightly better.

Naturally what you did will result in rasterized text. Did you preview with high quality settings?
Are you sure the people who will handle that downstream need pixel images and do you have the exact pixel dimensions needed?
Why did you place the image back in Indesign, by the way?

The plist in step 2 is created so you can download the app onto the device. This file stands alone, and does NOT need to be included in the app package, but it does need to reside in the same spot on the web server. Needed: Lightbox like behaviour for single images

Hi there.
CS5 with PHP MySql.

I want visitors, after clicking on the engine, to have in opened in lightbox style. The thing is that I could, up to now, only find Lightboxes that work with gallaries with more than one image.
I will appreciate it if someone could help me, please.

How do I change filename for single-image HTML pages in web gallery for LR 3

Hi,
I would like to change the default filename for the HTML pages produced by Lightroom 3 in the web gallery. Specifically, I would like to remove the string "_large" from the HTML filename, so it corresponds exactly to the image filename.
Specifically, the URL by default is like this:
http://www.mysite.com/content/_c_EMT2146_large.html
and I would like it to be like this
http://www.mysite.com/content/_c_EMT2146.html
I assume there is some way to make this change using the template editors, but I can't figure it out.

Turns out there's a fairly easy way to change that on Windows, but I can't figure out an equivalent on a Mac, which is where the need is. On windows, I can edit (after backing up) the following two config files:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6\Shared\webengines\default_html.lrwebengine\grid.html
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6\Shared\webengines\default_html.lrwebengine\manifest.lrweb
In which the "_large" string is appended and can be removed, following which the gallery works exactly as I would hope.
But I can't find the equivalent files on the Mac, though I would assume they exist.

Flash CS5 Windows - Single License, Multiple Computers?

Hi, if I purchase a single copy of Flash CS5 for Windows, will I be able to activate it on multiple computers (e.g. home, work) by typing in the same serial number on the activation window?

as far as I know you can install all kinds of suites max. 2 times. you will notice when trying more times that the activation process will block you from activating it.

Custom envelope for sound not working? Flash CS5

I'm trying to set a custom envelope for a sound in Flash CS5. I can bring up the envelope editor fine. But, I find that all the control points are after the end of the sound itself. If I click on the waveform to create a new control point, the point momentarily appears where I click it, then automatically jumps to the end of the waveform. If I try and drag any of the control points from after the waveform to during it, they just automatically pop to the end of the waveform.

Strange. After I wrote the previous post, Flash crashed. And now after starting it up again, the Custom Envelopes are working properly.

Air for Android template missing from Flash CS5 Professional

I am trying to get started with developing android apps in flash. Most tutorials begin with my selecting the Air for Android template in Flash CS5 Pro. This option is not available to me. When I try to install the extension I get this: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashpro_extensionforair/

HELP: Flash CS5, can't publish for flash player 4

Hello!
I want to create a flash ad for google AdWords using Flash CS5.
according to the guidelines (http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guide.cs&guide=1308145&topic =1310862&answer=176108&rd=2) I am required to publish for flash player 4:
Flash versions: All Flash ads must be published for Flash Player version 4-10.
Flash CS5 doesn't offer me to target flash player 4 in the publish settings!
how to resolve that issue?

Why is the Packager for iPhone guide for Flash CS5 and not Flash Builder?

Following this tutorial, I gave compiling an iPhone project via the command line a shot and found it very difficult. The commands are not clearly explained and have character errors (“ ” instead of " ", \ instead of /, etc.).
I've also downloaded the pdf that comes with the Packager for iPhone and tried to follow along, but the explanations are for developing in the Flash CS5 IDE...why is that? It seems that Flash Builder would be the logical development environment for developers and a dev guide...
Can anyone explain or perhaps direct me to an easier, more official tutorial on developing iPhone applications in Flash Builder? Thank you!

The "Packager for iPhone" was depreciated some time ago, so I imagine you are reading some old docs. Now (since FB 4.5), it's just another target platform in a Flex Mobile Project. Before then it was part of the ADT compiler which could be run in ANT (or a really long command line string), and before then it was actually the "packager for iPhone".
If you do not have FB 4.5 then maybe you can provide more info on the challenges your facing, and someone may be able to point you in the right direction.

FLASH CS5.5 Fails to launch on Mac OS 10.6.8

Hi. Have seen some similar posts, but not helped. Running on brand new iMacs all with same image, some work, some don't. The following is what I copied from the amt3.log file in the /tmp folder. Any ideas?

It turns out that the problem had to do with network accounts, even though it was not clear at first. Redirecting the program to the local machine's cache with a network home redirector script fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

Adobe Flash CS5 Preloader Taking Too Long

Using Adobe Flash CS5.
Created a 1mb (.swf) presentation (images, transitions, voice-over, etc).
Used the Preloader for SWF template from Flash CS5 library.
Copied the code into its own layer called "AS3" into frame 1.
Copied the little text box with instance name percent_txt into frame 1.
Everything else starts in frame 2.
The profiler still reads about 300kb in the first frame and it takes until about 50% (about 20 seconds at 56kb dl) until the simple image I put on frame 1 appears.
I read on this forum something about "exporting about 1mb of assets in your first frame", but I don't understand what that means...

Ok, I found the Flash Settings...
In Publish Settings, Flash Tab... next to the Script: ActionScript 3.0, I clicked the "settings" button and changed the "Export classes in frame:" option to "2"
What I still don't understand is why the preloader doesn't show until about 450kb of my 900kb file is downloaded!
I don't have anything else in frame 1, yet it's still got that spike at about 500kb. How do I get rid of that so my preloader starts showing almost immediately?
