Export 1 file not responding

Lightroom 3.2 Windows 7 64 bit 4 core 8gRam
This 'not responding' is becoming habitual recently.
Initially, I thought it was me clicking into the dialog box too quickly for the purpose of entering a custom text to the file name. Now I keep the cursor down in the task bar and watch the export box flicker the signal 'not responding' on and off.
An image will leave normally as an EDIT IN from the Develop section but the Export in the Library mode has developed a problem.
The program has been quite steady since the update to 3.2 but the export dialog has become progressively worse. It is an export to another internal hard drive but the successive images are going to the same folder on that drive.
The database is optomized weekly.
Is there a maintenance routine to assist this 'ill export box' ?

Sorry I must have misinterpreted the e-mail addon note. I thought I was replying to this whole group
I responded with
1. Yes, there would be several files in the temp directory The Mogrify plug-in creates a running list. If I am exporting a tif that will become a jpg then there is contents in the recycle bin as that tif is deleted.
I can close Lightroom, restart and the first image exports without pause. The second image starts the 'jitter'' or flashing of the export box between 'not responding to responding' If I am quick enough when its in the ON position I can close the export box.
#2. There are very few files in the subfolder. Unless this feature of many files applies to a main folder with several subfolders, otherwise contents range from 0 to 20 at maximum in this subfolder structure.
This is an NTFS system
I tried this morning with a tif and only export sharpening applied + open in an external software. It flickered slightly but proceeded. Of course, I went on to try a 2nd and 3rd while 4 other applications were sitting in the Windows 7 taskbar and with a slight pause where the info box flashes and produces a black box. The export box appeared and didn't falter, wouldn't you know? Maybe its a late night thing <LOL!>
#3 currently responding
I have emptied the temp file and the recycle bin through this day and could do that while Lightroom was open using CCleaner.
There hasn't been the long delay so it might just be the temp file collection produced by the Mogrify plug-in.
There is a slight flickering but there isn't a LONG time before I'm able to type the custom text entry.
Thanks for your input. If it is a simple thing like minding the temp files I can insert that into the routine.

• Error while rendering: Export file not found - what to do?

Hi,
I have been editing my video in four different premiere pro projects (as I got adviced to do from these forums because it's AVCHD clips). I have rendered these four projects and burned to four DVD's (total playtime is around 1.5hours) - which is working fine.
But then I try to import all four projects into one big master project because I want to make a blu-ray iso. The import goes fine (I import like this: File > Import > Choose project > Import entire project)
I export to encore, make the menus etc. and click "build" to start rendering. The problem is that after some time I get this error:
Blu-ray Object: "sequence-name-here/project-name-here.prproj", Export file not found
I have seen this error before while rendering some of the four individual projects - but when I saw them I simply just tried again by exporting to encore from the projects again. This seemed to work - but with the big master project I have tried several times with no luck.
Can anyone help me fix this issue? :)

Yes, I got this too:
For posterity, here is what I have found that completely fixes this error, repeatedly: Clear Encore's cache. Specifically:
Close your Encore project and exit Encore
Go to the cache subdirectory named for your project (ie. if your save file is c:\projects\mymovie.ncor then go to c:\projects\mymovie\cache)
Delete the file "mlf.cache.v10"
If your Encore project contains any Premiere Pro dynamically-linked assets, start Premiere Pro and load at least one of the projects used in Encore. (I have found that this reduces memory usage -- for some reason, Premiere Pro takes up less memory than if Encore spawns the PProHeadless.exe media server to serve the same function)
Restart Encore and load your project
...and wait, patiently, for Encore to re-scan all of your assets and build up the cache again and don't touch it until it's finished. I use Process Explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) to watch my disk activity and CPU to know when Encore is finished (just hover on the cyan-colored graph and you can see what program is performing the most disk activity). Once it's all finished, I save, then immediately try to build my project again. For proof of concept, my 40GB BD-50 project just built last night after getting this error yesterday afternoon.
If any of your assets are not transcoded before you begin this process, transcode them all, then start this process over again from step one. Clearing the cache does not clear the transcodes.
I hope this helps someone. I was not looking forward to completely re-authoring my project, which I've been working on (on and off) for a few months.

• Why are my exported files not going to me email? I have used 3 different ones.

Why are my exported files not going to my email (receipts & business card)? I have used 3 different ones...2 yahoo and 1 hotmail. I have checked spam box also.

For the Receipts app I chose to export the info as a PDF file..an email was requested..I entered info and clicked send. For the Business Card app I chose Send, not Print..an email was requested..I entered info and clicked send. I haven't received anything, not even in my spam folder.

thanks

ar tech,
I think that your problem is to do with layering. You have
specified both loaders to have width and height 100% so (unless
there is more to your code than you have posted) they will sit on
top of each other. In that case unless you have done some clever
code to pass on the mouse request, it will get swallowed by
whichever one is on top (hence the change of behaviour when you
alter the order of loading).
It sounds from your description as though they actually sit
in different screen areas, so maybe try changing the location
parameters and see if both respond when you put them side by side.

• Blue-Ray Object: "Menu"; Export File Not Found--Any Clues?

Trying to build a Blue-Ray DVD in CS3 (version 3.0.1.008). Project has motion menus and previews without errors. Upon trying to build either a disc or image I get the error
Blue-ray object: "Menu"; Export file not found.
Where "Menu" is the name of one of the sub menus in my project.
Has anyone seen this error? What is an Export file? When and how does it get created?
I have successfully burned this project to a standard DVD format.

I have the pleasure of closing out my own question. I found the following post that was the clue I needed.
http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/145/857374
It would appear that the Blue Ray build process is a lot more sensitive to file naming. I brought into my project a menu that I used as a starting template, I edited it in Photoshop and then renamed it in Encore. During the Blue Ray build process Encore rendered the menus to the original template names, but when it needed them to build the DVD it looked for the files that had the new names I had given the menus in Encore.
Here is the fix. I exported the final menus using the Save as Template function in Encore. I then re-imported them as menus and relinked them to the DVD assets. Everything worked fine from that point on.
The interesting thing is this did not happen when building a standard DVD using the same menus.

• BUG?? UTF-8 non-Latin database chars in IR csv export file not export right

Hello,
i have this issue: my database character set is UTF-8 (AL32UTF8) and contains data in a table used in IR that are Greek (non-Latin). While i can see them displayed correctly in IR and also via select / in Object Browser in SQL Workshop when i try to Download as csv the produced csv does not have the Greek characters exported correctly, while the Latin ones are ok.
This problem is the same if i try IE or Firefox. Also the export in HTML works successfully and i see the Greek characters there correctly!
Is there any issue with UTF-8 and non-Latin characters in export to csv from IRs ? Can someone confirm this, or has a similar export problem with UTF-8 DB and non-Latin characters ?
How could i solve this issue ?
TIA

Hello Joel,
thanks for taking the time to answer to my Issue. Well this does not work for my case as the source of data (Database character set) is UTF-8. The Data inside the database that are shown in the IR on the Screen is UTF-8 and this is done correctly. You can see this in my example. The actual Data in the Database are from multiple languages, English, Greek, German, Bulgarian etc that's why i selected the UTF-8 character set when implementing the Database and this requirement was for all character data. Also the suggested character set from Oracle is Unicode when you create a Database and you have to support data from multiple languages.
What is the requirement, is that what i see in the IR (i mean in Display) i need to export in CSV file correctly and this is what i expect from the Download as CSV feature to achieve. I understand that you had in mind Excel when implementing this feature but a CSV is just an easy way to export the Data - a Comma Separated Values file, not necessarily to open them directly in Excel. Also i want to add here that in Excel you can import the Data in UTF-8 encoding when importing from CSV, which is fine for my customer. Also Excel 2008 and later understands a UTF-8 CSV file if you have placed the UTF-8 BOM character at the start of the file (well, it drops you to the wizzard, but it's almost the same as importing).
Since the feature you describe and if i understood correctly is creating always an ANSI encoded file in every case, even when the Database character set is UTF-8, it is impossible to export correctly if i have data that are neither in Latin, not in the other 128 country specific characters i choose in Globalization attributes and these data is that i see in Display and need to export to CSV. I believe that this feature in case the Database character set is UTF-8 should create a CSV file that is UTF-8 encoded and export correctly what i see i the screen and i suspect that others would also expect this behaviour. Or at least you can allow/implement(?) this behaviour when Automatic CSV encoding is set to No. But i stongly believe - and especially from the eyes of a user - to have different things in screen and in the depicted CSV file is a bug, not a feature.
I would like to have comments on this from other people here too.

• SQL Developer export files not visible

Hi All,
I've started using SQL Developer recently and I am completely new to this tool.
I've noticed a weird problem. All the export files and the folders I create from SQL Developer is not visible from the normal windows. Say I've executed a query and I need to export the output to a file. I right-click on the data grid; select Export Data -> xls/csv (anything) . I get a pop to mention the Location of the file. I click on Browse ; then select the location and then click on apply. I expect the file to be created. But when I go to that folder; I do not find any files.
To add on to my suprise; If i click on open a file and navigate to the above mentioned path; the pop-up shows that the file is present in that folder. But it is not visible from Windows. This is of no use as I cannot use those files.
BTW; version is 2.1.1.64
Note: I've also enabled the option of viewing all hidden files and folders in Windows.
Regards,
Arun

Hi Arun,
If you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or higher, and writing to a directory (like C:\, C:\Windows\, C:\Program Files\) that Microsoft wishes to protect from malware or just simple clutter , then you are running afoul of a redirect feature in the OS that puts the unwanted file in a VirtualStore folder for your user name, specifically:
C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\<full path where you think the file got stored>See the following for details:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/folder-redirect-in-windows-7/95218744-37e6-40cd-b890-2e647351df16
I just ran across this myself for the case of C:\ and perhaps this applies to your situation also.

• My Compressor Export file not liked by a program

Hi,
So my Quicktime Movie export files from Motion are not being allow to be imported into a audio program i use (Ableton Live)....I've tried H264 and PJEG both at 640x480 and 29.97
I've checked had no problems importing movies that had the same settings as those above
into Ableton.
I then discovered that if I opened the QT movies in QT Player and then re-exported them with the same settings....that those files were then able to be imported into the program.
In the H264 re-export it seemed to create a smaller file.
in the PJEG re-export it created a much larger file.
but both could be imported into Ableton Live.
Is Compress QT export creating a wierd header on the QT files?
Should I be turning on/off such things as:
premultiply alpha
active camera
lighting
field render
motion blur
Frame Blending
Use Float Bit Depth
I've found the work around but would love to save on the time and
disk space it takes to re-export them from Quicktime (and also to understand
what the deal is)
thanks

The option worth trying is "replace asset" rather than deleting and reimporting - the latter guaranteed to lose all the info.
But Encore is not very forgiving when many changes are made. And a "do-over" is often the best option.
There is, of course, no "Encore CC" - just EN CS6. But the fact that you are running Mavericks and having the same sort of Encore errors that occur with various operating systems, and not basic program operating problems, is encouraging for Mavericks' users.

• Save ADMN Export file not working

I have a team member who when he tries to save a generated export file from ADMN export receives this error: Cannot Copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk.
Whats weird is it is only his PC that this happens on. We tried several other different PCs and it works fine. No such error.
And he has Administrator access on WIN XP
Steps:
1) Generate and save token file from Target system.
2) Go into Source system
3) ADMN >> Activities > Eport
4) Browse to get token file. Upload token file.
5) Choose ADMN to export. Click Save file button. File manager popup asks where to save file. He chooses desktop folder.
6) Clicks ok and gets error.
Anyone else had this happen before?
This happens in both 6.0 and 6.1.0.1

Since this issue is only reproduced on this user's machine, I recommend he can ask local IT to check if he has anything to be configured with the disc read/write permission or disk type.
Thanks

• Error Exporting - File Not Found - due to Summary Information Title

I downloaded the vbnet_win_SimplePreviewReport and modified it slightly in order to duplicate the export problem I'm having. I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 in VB.NET.
I opened the World Sales report and edited the Summary Info (Crystal Reports > Report > Summary Info) - by changing the Title from "World Sales Report" to "World Sales / Report".
when you Run the application and press the Export button you will get an exception. From what I can tell the Title of the report is used to populate the file name in the dialog that is presented. When the title contains a character that is not allowed by a filename you get an exception.
I have a client with a number of reports and many of them contain the "/" in their Summary Info - they display this as the Title on their report. I've created my own export button to test with and before calling CrystalReportViewer1.ExportReport() - I've changed the Title to be an empty string --- nothing works. I always get an exception. The only thing I can do is actually edit the report and change the summary info title - which I don't believe is something the client should be restricted to on what goes here.
Does anyone have any thoughts or know what I could do in order to leave the client data as is and still export without errors?
Thanks.
Star Myers

Hello, Star;
You are correct. Crystal Reports is using the Report Title by default as the filename on export.
There are options. When exporting from the viewer you can change the filename without changing the underlying report.
You can set an appropriate filename using code to export. In that case you might want to create your own export button with code behind.
You can change the Summary Field "Report Title" in code before passing it to the viewer without changing the original underlying report.
crReportDocument.SummaryInfo.ReportTitle = "World Sales Report 2008"
CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = crReportDocument
You cannot use a character that Windows will not accept in a filename.

• Help! Exported Files Not Showing Up!

For some reason when I export a file through CS4 it will not show up in the folder I exported it to. There are no errors in the process and no matter what style of video I just can't find anywhere. Any ideas?

Verify the location and file name of your export in the Adobe Media Encoder before starting the queue.

• Acrobat 9 Pro Slow opening and closing pdf files - "Not Responding"

I was responsible for pushing to get and keep 25 enterprises licenses for Adobe Acrobat Pro Vers 9. Corporate is pushing Blue Beam!
We are on Acrobat Pro Vers. 9.3.1. Windows XP Pro 32 bit OS. (PCs and laptops 1 - 3 years old, min 2 GB RAM, 2.1 GHz CPUs)
Recently pdf files have been slow to open and close to the degree that windows . It's to the point where I thought we were having network issues since this the problem is widespread. However, it can occur when opening files on the local machine as well. Worse, it's intermittent. We do not run any add-ins, 3rd party or Adobe. Most of these file run from 25kb in size to 2MB, rarely are they 5MB+.
I just installed 9.3.2 and will keep an eye on it. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what might be causing this or, what to look for?
Thanks!
Brian

Thanks Brennao. Our Organizer90 files were 7MB - 9MB. I've deleted them on my PC and a couple of others. Adobe help was no help for disabling the the Organizer. I had to search the forums again to find out where to do that, and low and behold, the app apparently defaults to store data for 12 months! I've change the setting to "Don't Remember PDFs", on the same PCs and am monitoring the performance to see if this is the "Silver Bullet". If it works we'll put the instructions in our company FAQs.

• Exported files not sharp in LR5

Dear community, did you experience something similar? I have been using previous version of LR and never had this problem. Image is not sharp and noise filter doesn't seem to be applied when I do my export. It looks completely different on a Dev Module. Are you aware? Any solution available? Thanks.

Yup .
Pacybut wrote:
I assume soon is not clear when, correct?
Correct.
Pacybut wrote:
Suggestion is to revert to LR 4.4?
Either that or export full-size and resize using external app or export filter / post-process action. It's only the reduced-rez ones that aren't sharpened and/or don't have noise reduction applied.
e.g. you can export via Lr and use Lr/Mogrify to shrink, or shrink via Photoshop droplet...
or you can just use PreviewExporter for your reduce-rez exports.

• ERROR MESSAGE: Blu-Ray Object: Export File Not Found

What does this mean? I keep getting it during the build process.
Obviously the file is there and can be imported and played in AE or Premeire. It is an uncompressed 1280x720 avi at 23.97fps. My burner is an LG GGW - H20L.
Any insight on this is appreciated.

I had the same problem and changed the preset from MPEG-2 to H.264 and about 20 hours later (on a quad core machine) had a working Blu-Ray disk.
