Export / Backup all the production data

Dear Experts,
Thanks for your attention!
Due to we have some upgrading issue in our production system. We plan to re-install the GRC AC SP10 in PRD.
We have go-live for half a year, there are around 500 requests in PRD, all these transaction data need to be export / backup before re-installation.
Could any one give us any advice?

Hi,
This will be handled by BASIS team, you need not worry. Once the data was restored you need to amke sure all the production data was avilable with configuration settings, audit trial, all the requests data.
If this was first time you are performing, better check out restore on non-production server and identify any issues and resolve and then proceed onto production.
Backup and restore will be done only by basis and documents avilable in market place, also that was dependent on your DB type.

We are having R12 running with 11.1.0 database, since I am new to Oracle Applications (working with 3 tier architecture i.e. Client, Middleware and database) I wont to know whether are we required to create separate tablespaces to cater the requirement for the production data as a best practise.
I am an Oracle DBA and I usually create a dedicated tablespace to have information of the production enviornment in a simple two tier architecture (client and database) and I avoid using the default tablespaces such as "Example" and "Users" as a best practise. Should this concept be followed when working with Oracle Applications. Since there are many tablespaces I find with the default installation of R12 which comprise of 10gAS and 11.1.0 database has the following tablespaces:

The Oracle Applications Tablespace Model is similar to the traditional model in retaining the system, undo, and temporary tablespaces. just to explain quikly how my situation is I bought an IPhone and connected it to my regular computer, a few weeks after that i bought an macbook because my old computer was having problems with all kinds of things. recently my old computer "died" and now i cant add any music to my IPhone unless i connect it to my macbook but it's saying it will delete everything on the IPhone and use this library but does it also delete all the application data? for a quik example. Angry birds do you lose your progress on it?

If you are saying that you didn't back up your old computer ever, especially when you knew it was failing, then you are out of luck; you cannot restore a backup that doesn't exist. However, you can probably save some of your content from the iPhone as follows:
Connect your iPhone to your new computer, but do not sync
Authorize iTunes on the new computer to your iTunes account
Go to the iTunes File menu and choose "Transfer purchases"
Click on the phone's name in iTunes and then click on the Info tab on the right
Set up apps on your computer to sync contact, notes and calendar to
Make sure there is at least one of each in the apps you have selected
Sync
You will still lose any non-iTunes music and videos, and any photos in the photo album (but you will not lose the camera roll).

Try this site as well. Paste in your Macs serial number and it will reveal all kinds of info about it including exactly where is was assembled. You can get the serial number from System Profiler. Cheers!

Removing all the hidden data from photos

If I export a photo to share, I often want to remove all the extra hidden stored data such as date taken exposures etc. Is this easy?

Hi rod,
By accident I found that a little app I use (ImageWell) to add connotations and text to my screenshots also strips most if not all the EXIF data from an image that you drag out of the Image well.
I just checked it out again. I dragged an image into the well, changed the name of the image and dragged it out. The EXIF data was gone when I opened it with Preview and did Tools/Get info.

Backup of the Calendar data - iPad to iTunes ?

A very simple question !
Is there a backup of the Calendar data made when you connect your iPad to iTunes ?
I don't want to sync my iPad calendar to Outlook or any other applications just to make sure I don't loose the Calendar data.
If it isn't the case is there applications that can export/import that data ?

Thanks for your suggestion. I solved the problem: the iPad was downloading an IOS update and the network went dead - it was also not the computer that the iPad had been synced with. I "reset" the system and went back to the original computer - I had to restore the iPad completely but it is now back and working.

Make sure your Mac is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

AP PAYABLES- Not getting all the DUE DATE's in with split schedule payments

We have some issues with AP Data loading's into our DW from EBS 11.5.10 AP - PAYABLES.
One of our customer is using split schedule and share payment into few payment. Our
sql is not reading all the due dates for PAYABLES.
We are using PAYMENT_NUM=1 from ap_payment_schedules_all table as condition to load the Data to avoid duplicate rows coming for Payables.
Some hints: removing the "PAYMENT_NUM=1" from the where clause gives all the due_dates but then we have duplicate rows for Payables.
Please help to modify our query so that it will work for split schedule payment.

Hello All,
We have some issues with AP Data loading's into our DW from EBS 11.5.10 AP - PAYABLES.
One of our customer is using split schedule and share payment into few payment. Our
sql is not reading all the due dates for PAYABLES.
We are using PAYMENT_NUM=1 from ap_payment_schedules_all table as condition to load the Data to avoid duplicate rows coming for Payables.
Some hints: removing the "PAYMENT_NUM=1" from the where clause gives all the due_dates but then we have duplicate rows for Payables.
Please help to modify our query so that it will work for split schedule payment.

Creating a test database from backups of the production

Hello Experts,
I am a newbie with very much new in Oracle. I have been provided with the inc0 backup(which comprises even the controlfile backup) of the production database (PROD) taken through RMAN and asked to create a new test database (TEST) using the backup. Can anyone please provide me the steps on how to restore it and create the new database ?
Database version 10.2.0.4
I am aware of duplicate database concept using RMAN, but I have been asked to not to connect to the target (PROD) database while duplicating. So, I need to create the test database by using the backup of prod database without connecting to PROD database. Please guide me.

When you are restoring using the backup of the production database, the db_name would be same on the auxiliary database. Once you restore and recover the database in your test server, you can change the db_name from prod to test by recreating the controlfile

Grouping to display null values for all the missing dates

Hi SAP,
I am trying to display '0.00' value for all the missing dates in my crystal reports as follows:
17-Jan-14     40.00
18-Jan-14       0.00
19-Jan-14       0.00
20-Jan-14     80.00
However, my crystal report is showing as follows:
17-Jan-14     40.00
18-Jan-14       0.00
19-Jan-14
20-Jan-14     80.00
The missing dates with no data are group together and my '0.00' value is not. Kindly advise me the solution. The formula is shown as per attached.

Fyi, I am using a formula field in crystal report to display "0.00" for days in between as follows:

There is another formula field in crystal report to display the missing dates in between as follows:

The issue arise when when there is more than one missing dates in between but the null values ("0.00") displayed is only for the first missing dates and not for all the missing dates.
