Export Command To Create FDF, In Adobe Pro 8

I can't seem to find the export command to create a fdf in adobe pro 8. It works in adobe pro 6 when using the 'Execute a menu item' command.
I can import fdf information within a JavaScript using the following code:
this.importAnFDF("../Setup/Forms Setup Information.fdf");
Is there a JavaScript that I can use to export fdf information similar to the code in the above line?

Use the method exportAsFDF. Read the documentation in the JavaScript for Acrobat API Reference.

Hello, I am due to format and upgrade a number of laptops that have Adobe Pro installed. Whils't i can reinstall Adobe Pro we need to preserve all preferences/settings especially the signatures used to digitally sign documents. I am not 100% on the signing process but am told that we need to make sure that we can still work with existing documents that have previously been signed. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

How do I create calculations in Adobe Pro 9?

I have a table with "quan" and "unit price" and a "total cost" column. I created a text field in the "total cost" field and then went to the calculate tab, selected "value is the" and chose "product" and then selected the 2 items that I wanted to total, "quan" and "unit price". When I close "form editing" and test it out, it doesn't work. I have found many videos that show how to create calculations and I follow them exactly as they say and it still doesn't work. What am I missing?

Is you use the first option, "The field is the product of the following fields:" you should see a result. Just make sure the fields you want multiplied or selected.

Created an Adobe Pro account but now being asked to upgrade

Created a new Adobe Pro account to use FormsCentral mainly but today we started getting the following message in emails when forms have been responded to.
The quota for free usage is 50 responses for the form.
Upgrade to receive up to 5000 responses.
Now in FormsCentral I am getting the "Ready for your next form? Get more forms and view more responses with a paid subscription".
The MyPlan page shows "Your current plan is Acrobat Pro subscription (one year)".
Rather annoying as we cannot create any more forms at our busiest time of the year.
Support is apparently looking into it. But with a wait time of 48 hours ....

The currently installed flash player version is 11.5, even though I am constantly being told I need to upgrade to it. There are some pages that ask four and five times as any advertisement using flash triggers this alert, so if a page has 5 ads, I get the message that Adobe wants to make changes to my system 5 times.

I have Adobe Pro 9 and I can't insert pages into a PDF created by Adobe Pro 8

I've looked at the other discussions about not being able to insert pages into a PDF, and tried all the suggestions, but to no avail. I think the problem is that the original PDF was created in Adobe 8, and I have Adobe 9. When I open the PDF in Adobe Pro 9, the security screen says that editing is not allowed, and the screen is greyed out so that I can't change the settings. When I open the same PDF in Adobe Pro 8, the security screen says "No Security".
I also checked the "Documents" screen in Edit -> Preferences, and changing the "View Documents in PDF/A" to Never doesn't help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

That would be a question for Adobe support. Firefox does advise users when their Acrobat plugin is out of date, but the actual update is done by Adobe.

Why can you create and not edit a form in Forms Central with fields not available in Adobe Pro

I have developed a form in Adobe pro which I want to use the extra fields that are available in Form Central such as ranking. I can create a form with these extra fields but cannot edit it once saved. Whats the trick?

Form created in ES2 can't be viewed in adobe pro version 8

Hello,
I created a form in ES2 (version 9). I saved it to be compatible with the older version. As the form is sent to users and is filled out. As I receive the form back and open it in adobe pro 8, the drop-down list values that users selected disappear. The drop-down lists are populated by a javascript function with 2 dimentional array. Thus, as user selects a value for dropdown1, the dropdown2 list is populated based on the value on dropdown1.
Somehow, the values selected for these dropdowns are not shown when I view the form with adobe pro 8.
Could someone tell me why that happens and what to do to fix it?

Depending on your Designer version (no longer able to set it in UI in Designer 10, for example), strictscoping is set in the form properties of the form (File->Form Properties->defaults).
However, since this is just happening in Reader 8.0.0, it sounds like you hit a bug in that version.
FYI: Support for Reader 7.x, and Reader 8.x have been end of lifed by Adobe.
Best bet is to use Reasder 9 and above if they work, and it sounds as if they do.

Using Adobe Pro X I cannot create a PDF from a web page.

After a recent upgrade from a previous version of Firefox, I am now unable to create a PDF from a web page using the Adobe Pro toolbar on the web page. A "save as" box appears and then the conversion process dies. I can print the page using Adobe Pro as my printer and it works fine. I can create other docs with Adobe Pro. How do I fix this on my browser?

Acrobat Pro can do a lot more than the PDF Pack online service.
Try if you can do everything you need with PDF Pack; otherwise keep Acrobat Pro.

Greetings forum members,
My question is, in its entirety: Can a single report (rpt file) create multiple PDF files using the export command, ideally one PDF file per DB record?
In my case; I have a Crystal Report that reads data from a DB table containing ~ 500 records. When I export the report to a PDF file, I get one PDF file, with ~ 500 pages.
What I would like to do is export the report to ~ 500 individual PDF files; One file per DB record. The file names would be based on the table's primary key.
Is this possible?

Hi,
you need some lines of code, but its easy. Dependend on how to start the generation of your 500 PDFs, you can write an ASP page and start it via Web Browser, or a Windows Script and start it via scheduled job...
Here's an abstract of the ASP code I use:
First, you create a recordset (here: "rsc") which gives you the list of ID fields you want to export, then you create CrystalRuntime.Application object, then you loop through the recordset, open your report (here: "oRpt") and set login info. Then set the selectionformula, so that the report displays only the data of the current ID, e.g.:
oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula = "(" & oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula & ") AND {myTab.myVal}=" & rsc("myVal")
Then you export the report, move to the next record in recordset, and repeat the loop until recordset.EOF. Then you close recordset and connection.

I am creating a fillalbe PDF form using Form central with Adobe Pro XI and I am using the new "add help text" feature in it, but when i save the form as PDF the add help text disaapars. I am also unalbe to find a form reset button to add to my form. How can I create a from with these features. The form I want to make it fillable PDf to emailed to customers.

Re: Help Icon - The PDF does not display the "?" like the web form. In the PDF when you mouse over the field and hover for 1-2 seconds the help text is shown in a tooltip.
Re: Form Reset button (Clear Form) - FormsCentral does not provide a clear form button but you can add it in Acrobat. You will want to open the PDF in Acrobat and then follow these two tutorials:

Initialize Script in Adobe Pro created PDF

Hello All,
I have created a PDF from Adobe professional 9. I want to run a script when the PDF loads, how can we do that. I don't see a event at Form level, though there are limited events supported for text Field objects but they also don't have init script event.
I don't wnat to use XFA form using Livecycle.
Please help, need answer soon.

Just put the code directly in a document script. Any code in the document script (that is not a function) will execute on opening the document (assuming that Javascript has not been disabled on the user's end).

Toolkit for Create CJ on Adobe Flash CS6 - Exporter.jsfl issue

I am using toolkit for Create CJ on Adobe Flash CS6
The animation need to be supported on HTML 5 devices. When I am publishing the below message appear on the Output window and cannot create the file:

At line 264 of file "Exporter.jsfl":
out of memory
There are not images, only text and graphics mainly drew on Flash and just a few imported from Illustrator, and I used classic Tween and a few masks. No idea what is “Exporter.jsfl” file stand for.
Is there anyone can help me with this issue?

Adobe Pro fires validation event when new page is created

Adobe Pro fires validation event when a new page is created on many fields.
When testing in Livecycle, I can add a new page fine, but with Adobe Pro a large list of errors appears and the fields are highlighted in red.
The errors don't happen in other versions of Adobe.
These are valid errors if the user tried to submit a field that is required and has not been entered yet, but the error happens when the page is initially created (added).

I was able to get my role processor to work.

Does the file you are writing have a timestamp in it? If so you could read the timestamp from the last time it was written and see if the day has changed, handling the name of the file appropriately. The easiest way to record the timestamp is probably to write the timestamp as the number of seconds that have elapsed since 12:00 am on Firday January 1st 1904 in UT. The "Get Date/Time in Seconds" function will give you this value.
