Export comments in Pages 5

When I export to PDF from a Pages 5 document, any comments I have made in the Pages document are not exported.  The comments are there when exported to Word but I have them so nicely laid out in Pages!  Does anyone know if Pages 5 can export comments to a PDF document?

No version of Pages v5 through v5.5.2 on Yosemite can export comments to a PDF. Tested.
Pages '09 v4.3 does export comments to PDF on Yosemite.

    Thanks You for answer.

No. Use Pages 09, which should still be one your computer. And tell Apple how you feel about the embarrassing disaster that is Pages 5.0.1 at

  • How can I export comments and tracked changes from Pages to Word?

I just purchased Pages and tried to export a couple pages of my document to Microsoft Word so I could send them for review to a client who does not have Pages; however, when I copy-pasted into Word, none of the comments or tracked changes showed up in the doc., only the finished product. I've tried updating my software, but that hasn't worked. Is there a way to fix this?

Here is what the Pages User Guide says:
" Exporting Pages Documents to Other File Formats
If you want to share your Pages documents with those who aren’t using the latest version of Pages, you can export your document to file formats that they may be able to use on their computers or other devices:
    • PDF: You can view PDF files in iBooks, and view or print them in Preview and Safari. You can edit them with a PDF application. Fonts used in the Pages document are preserved in the PDF file.
Hyperlinks in your Pages document are exported to the PDF file. Hyperlinks are also created in the PDF file for table of contents entries, footnotes and endnotes, webpages, email addresses, and bookmarks.
    • Microsoft Word: You can open and edit Microsoft Word files in Microsoft Word on a computer running Mac OS X or Windows.
Because of text layout differences between Microsoft Word and Pages, an exported Word document may contain a different number of pages than its Pages counterpart. You may notice other differences, as well, for example, table layouts and some special typographic features may not be identical. Some graphics (particularly those using transparency) may not display as well. Charts created in Pages appear as MS Graph objects, which you can edit in Microsoft Word.
    • RTF: You can open and edit RTF files in many different word processors. RTF files retain most of the text formatting and graphics.
    • Plain text: You can open and edit plain text files in many text editing applications, such as TextEdit. Exporting to plain text removes all document and text formatting, and images aren’t exported. ePub: You can open ePub files for reading in the iBooks application on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, or in any ePub file reader. After you export your document to ePub format, you must transfer it to your device to read it in iBooks. To learn more about optimizing a document for ePub format, exporting it, and transferring it to your device, see “Creating an ePub Document to Read in iBooks” on page 257.
If your Pages document is password-protected, the password-protection is removed from the new file that's created upon export. However, if you export to the PDF file format, you can apply a new password at the time of export. "

  • How can I simply export comments to a single list

Thanks in advance for your help.
Does anybody know how to export the comments in acrobat as a single list (ideally to excel or word)?
Typically my workflow is to convert documents (drawings, figures, sketches, charts, text) that make up a report to PDF and send to clients for review.
A report can be very large in excess of 500 pages.
Clients mark up the compiled PDF report with their comments.
    So far so good.
In addressing their comments I need to compile a list/table  of the comments they have made so I can simply provide a status/commentry on how I may have addressed their comments.
This simple task has proven extremely difficult with hours on the internet looking for a solution and about 1.5 hrs with Adobe staff (who clearly did not know what they were doing as it took this time to understnd point 1 below).
    Tagging to a word document does not help in that;
I operate a mac and apparently exporting comments to word function under the comments options dialogue box does not work on a mac.
The comments pertain to numerouse sources not just word.
Does anybody know how to export the comments as a single list (ideally to excel or word)?
I know how to create a comments summary then export this to word (but as the comments summary is broken up into pages I am still left with a document that is >300 pages long which is no use.
I also tried exporting the summary pdf either a a rich text format or excell which almost worked but the export apears to drop the page numbers since the page number are page headers in the export. This leaves me with a bunch of comments without any relationship back to the source.
    Thanks

This can be done with a script. I sent you a PM after your previous post on this subject. Did you see it?

  • How do you print comments in pages under mavericks?

How do you print comments in pages under mavericks? Earlier if show comments was checked, all the comments were visible and could be easily printed. Now only those comments are visible on which the cursor is pointed but even those do not get printed!

Thanks to all for to the 'older Pages' suggestion. I don't have the last Pages on my mac anymore (although this is probably just me being really, really dumb), but the suggestion inspired me to try another very similar work around - which was also successful. Just in case anyone's in the same situation as me, am sharing it here!
For absurd reasons I won't bother to explain, I've also got a version of Word for Mac. I prefer writing on Pages, though, so all my documents (and their comments...) are Pages files. In the really unlikely event that you've also ended up with both Pages and Word (I know...) just export to a .docx file, open it with Word, and print from there. It retains all comments, track chages, etc. This seems really obvious, but I hadn't thought of it...
This can also be a work around for the lack of 'Compare Documents' and/or 'Merge Documents'.
Of course this would all be much better if it were actually just in Pages...I hope this helps, and thanks!

  • Export problems with pages/ save as word document results in corrupted text

This may be a new problem with Pages as I have not seen this happen with previous versions but, when I export a page made with a template, it ends up with merge problems - headers end up at the foot and invisible text regarding merge showing. When saved, a error box opens saying that merge fields are not save or similar, and I end up with a non friendly .doc file.

  • New to web design. how to add feedback form and display comments in page?

I have created a site using muse. Cient wants me to add a feedback page that has form and displays comments on page. She only wants to pay for web basics bc plan. I know I can export html and can edit using DW but I have never done this nor do I know much about coding.

  • How do I re-number comments in the Comments Summary page?

    Hi,
When I create a comments summary page, Acrobat 9 organizes comments by page number and numbers them beginning at "1" for each page. Can I change the settings so that I can have the comments organized by page but numbered continuously? In other words, I want to be able to look at the comments on, say, page 7 - but I don't want the first comment on page 7 to be numbered as "1". If it is the 35th comment in the document, I want it to be numbered as "35".
Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You can delete them and re-add them accordingly or you can use random which would show the random order of images.
Another workaround can be be done using layers, where you can drag the image to the desired position which you want to show in order with slideshow.
I have created a short video for you , please download from here :

  • How to print comments in Pages 5.0

Is it still impossible to print comments in pages?

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

  • Can I export a multiple page document as separate PDFs in one output?

I am using InDesign CS5 (7.0.3) on Mac.
I have been given a list of 500 unique codes (from Excel) to overprint an existing label.
I've placed the text (codes) in the position/size and colour in a 500 page InDesign Document.
Now, my question is... Is there any way I can export the 500 pages as individual PDFs
without haveing to... export as page 1, export page 2, export page 3 etc? (x500 times!)
I don't really want to risk saving it all manually, because I will have to go back and double check everythig to the original source file.

Have a look here, it should do what you want.  For instructions on installing and using scripts look here.

  • IBooks Author: in exported file, one page loads very slowly...

iBooks Author: in exported file, one page loads very slowly and drags when scrolling through pages, almost stopping the scroll.  I have never seen this problem before with photo pages.  Normally they scroll just as smoothly as text pages.
I have tried rebuilding the page with more compressed files to no avail.  The image files used on the page are not any bigger than others I have used previously without any problem.
I have tried restarting my iBook.
I am using a template that I have modified quite a bit.  The templates currently offered by Apple and third parties are not even close to what I am looking for in terms of layout, so I have to rip almost everything out of the page and start with a blank page, most of the time.  I tried modyfying the layouts to save time and then saved as a new template.  Apple really needs to add a module to create your own template at the beginning of a project.  Or they need to create one very open template, without much on the pages.

I finally solved the problem by using an unmodified template. I would still like to know how my modifications to the other template caused the problem, but for now it remains a mystery.  Thanks for your ideas.
Next I will try modifying the template without saving it as a template (merely saving it as a file) to see if I can get away with my modifications.  Also I will make fewer modifications.
Slowly but surely I am learning this program by trial and error.  Each time I try a few formatting variations, output an iBooks file, and open it on my iPad.  I have probably done 20 of these tests, so far.  Once I work out every detail of the design and structure, I will build the final book.  I am lucky to have a beautiful PDF of the hardcover version, generously provided by my publisher.  This not only sets a high bar for me, but also allows me to use some of their design elements via screen capture.
iBooks Author has great potential, but I along way to go to get there. One feature I would really like to see in the next update: the ability to add a hidden caption to a photo.  The reader would tap the image and the caption would appear. Tap again and it disappears.

  • No option to export a portal page (9i)

    hello,
i have to export some of our portal pages to our new application server 10g (windows 2000/ windows 2003 server). I have two questions concerning to that:
    1. If I browse the portal pages in the navigator view there is no 'export' action next to the pages. I can only see the export links in the provider list, but I need to export the pages (logged in as portal admin). So how can this be done?
    2. Is it basically possible to export components from portal 9i to portal 10g? I read that this is not possible, and that both installation have to have the same version number. can you confirm this?
    thanks
    Katharina

Answer 1: You should see export link against pages also.
Just verify that you have privilege to "Manage Transport Set"
Answer 2: Source and target need to be of same version.
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

  • How to run Import/Export for Portal Page

    Hi all !
I have to export the Portal page .What are the steps I have to follow to complete the process ?I'm new to Oracle portal..
Please help . Thanks in advance
    chris

You could check out the Export/Import FAQ for some of your questions
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/DEPLOY_PERFORM/EXPORT_IMPORT_FAQ_1120.HTM
Also see if you can get access to configuration guide for your version of portal. There has to be a chapter on how to use Export/Import utilities in Portal
The simplest way to explain the process is
    1. Click on Export link next to the object to be exported
    2. Give a name for the transport set and export it.
    3. Download scripts for migrating the content and run it in export mode to generate the dump file.
    4. FTP the script and dump file to target
    5. Run the script in import mode to transfer the contents of dump file in target portal. The usage of scripts in export/import mode is given when you run the script without any parameters
    6. Go to the Export/Import portlet and select the transport set for import.
    7. View the logs to see if the migration has been successful.
    8. Go to the navigator and check if the object you migrated has been brought in successfully.

  • How to I export a master page?

I see the option to import a master page, but no option to export one. How does one export master pages from a project?

    Hi there
To my knowledge there is no method offered to export a Master Page. At least, not from the UI.
When you create a Master Page, you are creating a file bearing the extension of .HTT. When you are viewing the Master Pages pod, try right-clicking one of the .HTT files you see. You should see an option on the context menu labeled "Explore". Click that option and Windows Explorer should open at the file location where your Master Page files are. Note that you will see other project files there as well. Master Pages are co-mingled with other files in the project.
Locate the .HTT file of choice and copy it where you wish.
    Cheers... Rick
