Export contacts from iPhone to iCloud

I am going to export contacts from iPhone 5 to icloud, then sync to new iMac.
How do I make sure that the contacts in iCloud are replaced by most current contacts / data in the iPhone.

  • Merging Contacts From iPhone to iCloud

This is not a question.  This is an explanation of how to merge contacts from iPhone to iCloud.
I cant believe how difficult Apple makes this process.  I figured it out on my own because Apple does not explain it.  In fact, Apple hasn't even provided directions or guidance on this topic since 2012.
Here it is.  Go to Settings on your iPhone.  Go to iCloud.  Un-hook the slider next to Contacts.  Hook the slider next to Contacts.  A pop up asks Merge, hit merge.  This will copy all contacts in your iPhone to the Cloud.
Apple needs to get back to basics or risk losing customers.

    Hello jessica13loose
If the contacts are solely on your iPhone and not apart of iCloud, go to Settings > iCloud and turn off Contacts. It will ask if you want to delete or keep the contacts on your iPhone. Go ahead and keep them on your iPhone. When that is done, turn it back on and iCloud will merge all that contact data back onto iCloud.

  • How can I move all my contacts from iPhone to iCloud?

On my iPhone, all my contacts are synched with my MobileMe Account. Now I've set up iCloud on my iPhone by creating a NEW iCloud account, with a different Apple ID (I mean, different from my MobileMe account and from my Apple Store/ITunes account, to test the new iCloud).
In fact I would like to move all my iPhone contacts to my new iCloud account. I have chosen the appropriate settings under iCloud settings, but (even after several days) my contacts have not synched with iCloud.
    How can I do this?
I would like to avoid migrating my MobileMe account to iCloud for the time being.
    Thanks for your help,
    Marco

Windows 8, Outlook 2010, I'm trying via Google, but the other problem I have, is that I can't update my contacts in iCloud, I tried from the web on the tab that says update contacts, but is not synchronizing them...

  • ICloud won't sync all contacts from iPhone to iCloud

    Hi,
So I have 1090 contacts on my iPhone 4S. I have iCloud set up and when I go to iCloud.com or when I sync my MacBook Air (Lion) with iCloud only 590 contacts are merging. I have turned iCloud on and off on my iPhone to see if this would trigger a new sync but the same amount of contacts seem to merge. Does anyone have any idea how I can get all my contacts from my iPhone to merge to iCloud?
    Thanks so much community!!!
    Cheers,
    Colin

I know this is an old thread, but since I had the same issue and finally solved it, I'll post this for future reference.
I had over 300 contacts on my iPhone 4 but only about 60 were showing up in iCloud. Saw lots of discussion, tried a few things, but here is the fix that worked for me.
    1. Got to Settings
    2. Go to iCloud
    3. Slide Contacts option to Off (You'll get a warning, make sure you choose to save the Contacts on your phone)
    4. Close out of Settings
    4. Wait 5 minutes or so
    5. Go back to Settings\iCloud
    6. Slide Contacts option to On (You'll get a message asking to merge Contacts, say yes)
    7. Go to Settings\iCloud\Storage & Backup
    8. Select Back Up Now
That should do it. All of my iPhone Contacts are now in iCloud

  • Changing contacts from iphone to iCloud

I lost my iphone 4S and somehow the new owner managed to sync his contacts on my icloud. I've changed my apple id several times now, and in my new phone (actually my old 3S)  I've placed an old back-up, so on my iphone I have my own contacts again.
But now it seems impossible tot get my own contacts back on my Icloud. It seems my Iphone can't replace the existing (not mine) contacts in Icloud

If your Mac is signed into your iCloud account and is syncing contacts with Address Book (Contacts), download the app My Contacts Backup to your 3GS and use it to back up the contacts on your phone to as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Then go to icloud.com from your computervand delete the existing iCloud contacts by selecting a single contact, pressing Command-A to select them all, then pressing your Delete key.  Now open the email you sent earlier on your Mac and tap the attachment to import the contacts to your Mac, and to iCloud.  You can then enable iCloud syncing on your phone and allow the iCloud contacts to overwrite the ones on your phone.

  • Syncing contacts from iphone to icloud

My iPhone 4 won't sync the "all contacts" section of my phone to the iCloud contacts. I just want to put all of my contacts from my iPhone onto iCloud so they can then be synced to my Macbook Pro. As of right now I have an incomplete contact list on my Mac. Thanks for the help!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Uploading contacts from iphone to icloud

I wish to upload my contacts from my old iPhone to the icloud. I have opened and accessed the cloud and plugged-in the phone. I can see the contacts on the phone via the cloud but don't know how to save them to the cloud. Any help ?

    Hello Blidworth Mel,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to sync the contacts on your iPhone to iCloud. If you have signed in to iCloud on the phone, your contacts may already be synced.
You can use the steps in these articles to verify that you're signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, and that Contacts are set up to sync:
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
You can also log in to iCloud.com to see your contacts and other information that's stored in iCloud.
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • Contacts from iphone to iCloud

Looking for advice on how to get my contacts from my iphone to icloud.  I mistakenly gave on old phone to a friend without disconnecting it from icloud.  When they deleted my contacts from the phone it deleted them from icloud, and then my new phone.  Luckily I had a relatively recent backup on my macbook itunes.  So I restored my new phone from my macbook, and got most of my contacts back.  However, I had to turn off the icloud contact syncing on my new iphone, because it wants to delete them from my iphone since there are no contacts in icloud anymore.  Which means I would have to retore the whole phone from my macbook backup to get my contacts again.  If I could get my iphone contacts onto icloud, I would be golden, but not sure howe to make it happen.

When you turn on iCloud, it should offer to merge your contacts.  So, that would upload your contacts to the cloud.  Make sure your friend has signed out of your iCloud account though.
And if you are running a current version of OS X, you should be able to turn on iCloud on your Mac as well, so the contacts push between your Mac and your device.

  • HT5225 can I still export contacts from ME to iCloud?????

i didn't export my contacts before June 30th. Can I still access contacts to export & import to iCloud? Thanks.contac

Did you do any kind of migration from MM to iCloud, like "email only"?  If not, then I think it's too late.  (If you had migrated to iCloud from MM, then contacts should have been copied over.)

  • How do you export contacts from iphone 3g to car

I have a 2009 MB C300 sport.  I paired the phone with no problem.  I can't export contacts to the car.  Nor can I manually enter the contacts using the buttons on the car's panel.

iPhone only supports PBAP(phone book access profile). If your vehicle's bluetooth system does not support PBAP as well, there is no way to make your contacts available.

  • After iCloud sync I lost all contacts from Iphone and iCloud

    I upgraded my iphone4 to ios6.
    All worked.
After I settings->icloud->contacts on  (backup on icloud is off)
After a while I noticed that all my contacts are empty.
Checked on www.icloud.com if my contats were available, but nothing.
    Can I recover my contacts?

    Itunes does not store contacts.
The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.  Your contacts should be in whatever program you have chosen to sync.

  • ICloud Contacts on iPad are Not the Same as the local Contacts on my iPhone..how can i put all my Contacts from iPhone into iCloud?

I want to have all my local iPhone Contacts in the cloud to have them also on my iPad.
iCloud only saved 36 from 225 total Contacts. My IPhone Contacts are saved on the iPhone itself, but how can I Transfer them into the cloud?

The Mac uses Mac OS X and iDevices use iOS. These are two different operating systems and the apps must be written for each operating system specifically, even when the apps go by the same name, such as the iWork apps, they are two ifferent versions of the same app for the two different platforms.
So, as an example, Safari has been written for three different operating systems, Mac OS X, iOS and Windows. And the Safari apps, as similar as they are visually, are not interchangeable for the different platforms.
