Export controls - Encryption Products Concern

Hi,
There is some concern on shipping of encryption product families to certain countries.
How do we achieve this, do we have std functionality in GTS or we need a flag such products products in ECC to meet the regulatory obligations.
Can somebody throw somelight on this as to how to achieve on SAP GTS?

Hi,
If you have preference processing service activated in Risk management. you can define base rules and additional conditions for preference processing. If the product fulfills the additional condition, you set the Condition OK indicator. You only set this indicator for products that meet the assigned additional condition. The system evaluates the indicator when determining the preference.
This specifically helps when you trade in loops of regional trade agreements and have to determine whether the product fits in the preference eligibility criterion of varied regional trade agreements.
Otherwise: A license is triggered with the combination of Control Class (ECCNs), Country of destination and departure, Partner etc.
So, Even if the preference processing is not activated. We can Control the shipments of a specific ECCN to certain countries through license.

Export control

Hey all,
I have one question regarding the export control of materials. For some materials it´s only allowed to send them in certrain value or quantity into some countries. I know that there is a possibility to enter an export license, but this is a very manuel process.
The limit of the materials (value or quantity) depends on the harmonized code and the country. If I would like to enter a new order in the retail system, could the system give me a note that I have some materials in my order which are under export control? For me its important that there is a automatically process.

If I can understand you correctly, you have asked about a dialog to be given up in the Feeder( Retail) system incase any of your feeder materials requires licences.
For the above query, I want to clarify you that the licences determination in SAP GTS is automatic based on the defined parameters and only requires manual intervention in case of initial set up and Incase of any non required blocks to analysed/released.
Here, we can have two cases ,when you will create a order in the Feeder (Retail) system, These are as follows:-
If a licence exists for product:- In this case, license will be automatically be assigned to the Material and the order will go through without any issues in the feeder and GTS systems
If a license doesn't exists for the material in the GTS system:- If a license doesn't exists for a particular material and that material is included in some order in the feeder system , then since no license exists in this case, hence the concerned order will be blocked for subsequent processing in the feeder system. In this case, a dialog will appear once the order is saved displaying the legal control block. For this, you can analyse the block or if required also release it in the GTS system to carry on your transaction.
I guess, I have already cleared the air to a great extent. Incase of any further queries, please let me know it.

Need a user exit for Export Control check in Sales Order fro VA01/VA02

Hi ,
     I need a user exit for Export Legal Control process in Sales Order.since Ship-to country in the Sales Order is not always the ultimate destination country User Exit needs to be built in with following logic
1.     Check to see if ultimate destination country field is maintained in Sales Order
2.     If a value is maintained then for the Export control checks use ultimate destination country instead of the Ship-To country (step 1)
3.     If no value is maintained then use Ship-To country as default
The user exit is called when the user creates or changes a Sales Order.
Can anybody help ?

Export Control /Legal control: need user exit to customize

I have a situation where I want to determine the export control license for a sales order. SAP uses the function module RV_EXPORT_CONTROL to carry out the required check.
The FM uses the country defined for the ship-to-party as the destination country and carries out checks to determine if there is an embargo for the good in the line item to destination country.
My requirement is that the actual destination country or the ultimate destination country ( which is known and not same as the country of the ship to party ) be used to carry out the embargo check.
I could not find any user exit/badi for the same. Is there a way to achieve this functionality. It has been hard coded in the FM. Can we do any customizing settings to achieve this? I could find two partner function EU ( End user for foreign trade ) and UC ( Ultimate Consignee )...can these be somehow used/ configured to achieve the desired functionality? Or is there any other different approach to the issue.
Currently I plan to copy the standard FM and add my functionality. I will turn off the standard export control and then I i will call the custom FM in the end ( userexit_save ) as the export control is carried out at save.
Any suggestion/approaches will be appreciated.

How can I control the Product Category in the Pre-select screen

Dear ,my expert :
   I work in ROS scenario . In my case ,the supplier can select Product Category A, Product Category B,and Product Category C when they filled the data in the registration scren . And the purchaser A just is responsibility for the Product Category A ,and the purchaser B ,C are the same situation .
So ,my question is :
   1,How can I control the Product Category in the Pre-select screen? I mean that the Purchaser A can just select the   Product Category A in the Pre-select screen .
   2,You know the supplier select two category is one BP in the system ,So if the purchaser A accepe the supplier ,the purchaser B will find the status is "accepted ",So the purchaser B will be confused about it .
   SO ,in my case ,any one has the suggestions ,any link welcome .

Hi Alex,
As per standard SRM solution, this is not supported. Purchasers who accept new suppliers, accept them on the whole and not for any specific product category. There is no such thing as Purchaser being responsible for specific prod category in ROS.
What you could do however is to build a custom workflow to achieve it. You could have category approvers after the purchaser has accepted the supplier. Based on the category provided by the supplier in the reg form, you could route these suppliers to appropriate category approvers.

Export DVD for product CRM/SOLMAN Upgrade Solution Manager 7.1

Hello Experts,
It is my first time doing an upgrade and I have a problem, the SOLMANUP tool gives me: "Enter at least the mount point containing "Export DVD for product CRM/SOLMAN"", I downloaded from SMP the 12 parts of the SAP Solution M. 7.1 Upgr.Export (51039400), I got now 1 .exe file and 11 .RAR files and when I put the path, the SOLMANUP doesnt recognize as a valid mount point, any advices?

But someone told me. number of Posting period must be same not fiscal year variant.That why i am confused.
I assigned all company code same posting period variant in different controlling area.Still facing same error.

Crypto export control issues when redistributing the JRE

Does anyone have experience or knowledge about export control procedures when redistributing the JRE (or openssl for that matter) since it does contain crypto API's? I have tried to understand the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) but I'm still unclear on this if I were to distribute from freshmeat or tucows. There are alot of references to an ECCD-5D002 list of software that I cant find. I believe the EAR states that if the software is on that list, that it is ok for exportation without review. I was hoping someone in the developer community could answer this foe me.
