Export data - loader

hi, experts!
I am a newbie of sql developer
I find that it is allowed to export data by "loader" option.
A .ldr file will be saved.
however, I find that it is not allowed to import data to a table from a .ldr file.
what are .ldf files for ?

Hi,
Those are for the SQL*Loader tool on the database's OS (which is a lot faster importing data). You can read the DB docs for more info.
To have sqldev importable files, use CSV or alternatively Excel.

Data load issue with export data source - BW 3.5

Hi,
We are facing issues in loading data with the help of export data source.
We have created export data source of 0PCA_C01 cube. With the help of this export datasource, we are loading data to other custom cube. Scenario is working fine in development server.
But when we transported objects to quality server data is not getting loaded to custom target cube.
It is extracting zero records. All transports are ok and we have generated export datasource in quality before transports .Also regenerated export datasource after transport and activated infosource, update rule via RS* programs. Every object is active but data is not getting extracted.
RSA3 for 80PCA_C01 datasource isn't extracting any record in Quality. Records getting extracted in development. We are in BW 3.5 with patch level 19.
Please guide us to resolve the issue.

Hi
Make sure that you have relevant Role & Authorization at Quality/PRS.
You have to Transport the Source Cube first and then Create a Generate Export Data Source in QAS. Then, replicate data sources for BW QAS Soruce System. Make sure this replicated Data Source in QAS. Only then can transport new update rules for second cube.

Exporting data in rows and columns and loading in RDBMS

I have a scenario wherein i want to export data from HyperionEssbase in rows and coulmns and load it intoRDBMS. I can load data into RDBMS using informatica if theflat file exported is in form of rows and columns.But when i exportthe file using Hyperion Essbase 9 i get it in from of alldimensions and then the fact value which is not how i want. I wantdata in relational from in flat file itself(row,column).Looking forard to your suggestions..Thanks in advance..

Error at work flow Export task in Essbase data load

I am trying to load the data to Hyperion Essbase. I have two small question first is :
1) can any buddy tell me what are the basic steps for specifying dimension for target essbase application. i have did the data load to HFM application previously but here with essbase it bit complex.
2) I have done with the creating import format and assign it to Location after specifying dimensions. At the work flow export task i am getting following error:

The FDM Configuration Guide outlines the process to map the dimensions in the Essbase Adapter to the proper dimensions in the Essbase Outline. You will want to take a look at this on Oracle Technology Network under Documention.
You will want to right-click on the adapter in the workbench and choose "Configure"
You will then create your machine profile with the source machine value of the FDM app server name and the target machine value as the Essbase Server Name.
On the second tab you will specifiy the Essbase Applicaiton and Datbaase Name and logon method to use for integrating with Essbase.
Finally click on the Dimensions tab and click on each dimension in the left-pane and in the right-pane if the integration with Essbase is setup correctl you will be able to select the corresponding Essbase dimension from the Dimension drop down list and select it and it will populate the foreign name as Tony Mentioned.
You can then apply the changes when complete.

Data loading issue from BW Production to BW Sandbox

Hello Guys,
I am trying to load data from one info cube (Production) to another info cube (Sendbox) applying update rules for prototype model. I am not getting any error in monitoring window for Info Package. But what I see is '0 from 0 records' for long time. I have tested connection between two systems that looks O.K. There is data in Production Cube. This is first time I am loading data between two BW systems. I am not sure what could be wrong. Can some one please help me ASAP? Thanks a lot.

Hi Kate,
The first thing you might want to check is the status of the extractor job in your Production system. The job name will be same as the request name BI_REQU*. So, in SM37 of Production system check for the extractor job <request number> and check the status of the job. If it is running, it means that ur extraction is running still and you can wait for some more time or monitor the job closely in SM50 regarding it's progress.
If it is in cancelled state, you need to check the job log or any short dumps for the error message.

CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_TYPE Standard Data loading

Hi,
I am facing a data loading problem using Business content on CPS_DATE infocube (0PS_DAT_MLS datasource).
The R/3 extraction processes without any error, but the problem occurs in the update rules while updating the milestone date. Please find hereunder the log from the ST22.
The real weird thing is that the process works perfectly in development environment and not in integration one (the patch levels are strongly the same: BW 3.5 Patch #16).
I apologise for the long message below... this is a part of the system log.
For information the routine_0004 is a standard one.

 This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
 A function module was called incorrectly.
Errors analysis
 An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
 . The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE', was neither caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "ROUTINE_0004"

 Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception

You have an update routine in which youar callin FM 'RS_BCT_TIMCONV_PS_CONV'. Parameter e_fiscper must be the same that type of the variable you use (you can see the data tyoe in FM definition, transaction se37). You should do somethin like the following.

Data load by Request ID!

Hi Friends,
I have a scenario. I want to load data from one InfoCube to DSO. I generated export data source for the InfoCube and created updated rules between InfoCube and DSO. I have 10 requests in InfoCube for which data was loaded. Now, I DO NOT want to load data belongs to all those 10 requests in infocube. Instead, i want to load data for a particular request ID. How can i do this?
your help will be appreciated in terms of points.

Actually, thinking about it, there is an easier way.
1) Create a query on the infocube, having all the required fields (you need to be loaded into the ODS) in rows and columns.
2) Have a variable on 0REQUID in the global filter section of the query
3) Create a transactional ODS which should have all the fields present in the query.
4) Create an APD which will enable you to save the output of the above query into the transactional ODS.
5) Now create update rules between the transactional ODS and the ODS that needs to be loaded with data.
6) Execute the APD with by passing the request ID of interest to the query. The output will be saved into the transactional ODS and this ouput data is the data in the cube of the request ID selected during query execution.
7) Load from the transactional ODS to your original ODS. You can safely do a full load, coz the transactional data only has the data of interest to you.

Data loading after field enhancement.

Dear all,
We are using BI7.00 and in one of our data source, a new field has to be enabled. Our people are under the impression that without downtime, the previous data which is available in the Target and the PSA can have values for the new field also.
I could not perceive the possibility. Experts suggestion required in this regard. Can you kindly provide answers for the following questions.
1) Can enhancement be done to the data source without deletion of setup table?
2) Can the delta queue be as it is without stopping the delta pull process i.e., the process chain and the background jobs.
3) If the field is enhanced, can the value of the field be loaded to all the data which is previously loaded to the PSA and the Target.
Request Experts to provide apt solution so that field enhancement can take place without disturbing any of the data loads.
I went through the forum posts and was able to find something about export data source and Loop back principles - these suggests that my requirement is possible.
I do not know the process. Can experts provide step by step suggestion to my query.

Hello Magesh,
1)Enhancement cannot be done if there are records in the set up tables.
2)When an enhancement is done...delta queue also needs to be empty...so you will have to stop the collective running jobs...lock the system and empty the delta queue by scheduling the delta package twice....then only the transports to production will go succesful.
3)Until you fill the set up tables again and do a historial loads...the old values for the new added field will not appear..
If you just do an init without data transfer and schedule new delta loads...then the new added fields will contain values from that day and changes to them...previously loaded values to BW will remain as it is...to have the values for newly added fields you need to load the history through full repair loads by filling the set up tables first.
Follow the following steps to load only the new values for the added fields
1)Lock the system
2)schedule the collective update job through job control so that all the records are in the delta queue and no records or LUW are left in LBWQ for that data source.
3)Schedule the delta infopackage twice so that even the queue for repeat delta is also empty.
4) do the transports and then delete the old init and do a new init without data transfer.
5)schedule the normal delta.
To have history for the added fields
1)Lock the system and
2)Delete the old init and clear the LBWQ from LUW's
3)Do the transports
3)Fill the set up tables and do init without data transfer for the data source.
4)Unlock the system
5)Do the full repair loads to the BW data targets
6)Schedule the delta loads.

Last day of previous month for data load

I have to load data from the previous month into the psa and then into an infocube. I was wondering as to how to get the last of the previous month to write a code in ABAP. I will be writing the code at the infopackage level in the data selection. I could load data from the 1st of the previous month to the 1st of the current month. This will be an additional load of 30,000 records for the 1st of every month, since I will be loading 30,000 records everyday, I was wondering if I could limit the load from the 1st of every previous month to the last day of that month. This will be a repetitive loading.

Mind you this code will load data from 1st of the previous month to the 1st of current month. I just don't want to load that extra "1st day" of current month data as I have 30,000 records everyday.

Is there a formula to get the last date of the previous month. That's all I need. This would solve the problem.

PROBLEM IN EXPORTING DATA FROM A RELATIONAL TABLE TO ANOTHER RELATIONAL TAB

While trying to export data from a source table to a target table, problem occurs with loading the data in the work table(SrcSet0)[As shown in the operator]. I thought of most of the options nothing is suiting my layout.
SQL loader ,can't use due to multiple worksheet.
HSServices can;t use because my column headings are row wise,and the excel start with a big Heading rather than having column headings.
UTL_FILE can't use beacuse of multiple worksheet,and frankly speaking i don't know how to use utl file with excel to read paticular cell in excel.

Secondly, I don't think you thought of most of the options.
Yes, you can use SQL*Loader as you can dump each individual worksheet to a separate CSV file.
Also, you didn't consider ODBC. If ODBC in Excel is too cumbersome, you can use MsAccess to hook the Excel sheet in Msaccess, connect to the database using the Oracle ODBC driver and design an ordinary append query,
Obviously, you would need one query per worksheet.

Hi Umesh,
The data structure of the source table and the structure of the destination file are the same, right? Is the destination file a flat file? Do you have to do it through Script Task? If the destination file is a flat file, this can be done easily by using
the stock tasks/components other than .NET code. In the Data Flow Task, we choose the appropriate source adapter (such as OLE DB Source or ADO.NET Source) to extract data from the source table, perform transformation if necessary, and then load to the destination
file via a Flat File Destination. When setting up the Flat File Destination, uncheck the “Overwrite data in the file” option so that the extracted data will be appended to the existing file.

Is it possible that the entity that you are loading to in Enterprise is locked? It appears that it may be per the below error. You can only load to unlocked intersections, so I would start by checking the catagory and entity combination for being locked.

If we do this
Use table RSSDLINIT and in OLTPSOURCRE: enter the name of the data source
And in the logsys enter the name of the source system and delete the entry for that info package. what will happen is process chain will run suceesfully and short dump will not come or what kindly give the detail explanation about this RSSDLINIT.
