Export doesn't pop up anymore in iPhoto 11.
Hi,
I'm a new Mac user, so I have a Macbook Air with iPhoto 11 on it.
Yesterday I downloaded a couple of upload plugins who where located on the 'Export' function. I didn't want to use them so I deleted them on this place : Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support iPhoto/Plugins.
But from that moment on, when I click on 'Export' the window didn't open anymore to use the other plugins.
So I decided to put it back from the trash to the plugins and re-open iPhoto, it didn't work. I tried to uninstall and re-install iPhoto, but it's back to the same problem.
After every manipulation I re-started my computer.
Does somebody know what I can do to recuperate the Export function ?

Both websited described the same unistall process. Where I had to delete it from Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support iPhoto/Plugins. I did this, but the Export Dialog still doesn't work.
You have any idea on another solution?

IPhotos doesn't show photos anymore, but iPhoto file is 30 Gb big.

my probelm is that when i klick on the iPhoto fiel, it opens the file and than says no fotos. It changed from one day to the next. I hade my libery on a other harddisk, but it allways worked. Now I have the 30gb big file but I can't get the pics. Does anybody has the same problem or nows a way to get beck my pics?????Thanks LarryHN for responding to the OP's question. But now I have two questions that I'm hoping someone can answer:
1. I downloaded some new images while my iPhoto was not using the right library. Using the alt/opt key, iPhoto is now pointed to the right library the majority of my images appear. But where are the ones that I downloaded while it wasn't pointed at the right library? I searched my hard drive for another iPhoto library and couldn't find anything?
2. A related question, I have some images that I KNOW are on my computer as I can see them in Finder. The location for them is given as iPhoto library/data/2008/July 28. But, they do not show up in iPhoto. Anyone know where I can find them to import them?

Hey, I got a problem with my computer. Normally, When i right click an image, a tab window shows up with an option to "add image to iphoto". Now it doesn't come up anymore. Please tell me how to fix this!
Well given that we don't know what version of OS X you're on, what version of Safari you're using and it's the iPhoto forum and not the Safari one, the best I can suggest is that you try repair permissions with Disk Utility

With TSM adware removal tool I was able to remove unknown software that was making ads pop up when using Safari. So the y don't pop up anymore. The problem now is that when I open safari It is still downloading websites and after awhile it freezes the browser. I have to constantly go to Safari Preferences to remove them and then the browser will start working again. What can I do to stop this?
1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." Wifi Login window isn't popping up anymore after update to 10.9 Mavericks?
I recently updated my Macbook Pro Retina 15" to 10.9 Mavericks, and since the update, the wifi login window no longer pops up as it did before. I live on a campus residence property with wifi that I have to login with my student ID and password. Before, when I opened my macbook and logged in, the wifi login window would immediately pop up, but now it doesn't pop up at all, and instead I have to manually open Safari and try to access a webpage for it to work. What gives? It's a minor inconvenience I know, but I find it annoying now that even if I only want to use an app like Calendar or iTunes, I have to open safari and click on a link in order to login instead of the window popping up automatically like it did before.
Was this removed from 10.9 altogether or was there some sort of glitch in the upgrade process?I realize now that the app I'm talking about it the Captive Network Assistant. Something has gone wrong with its detection, as it's not popping up at all anymore. From what I've read, I'm not the only one with the issue either, it seems that after every major OS X update since the feature was introduced, it breaks for some users. I just haven't found any solutions. Anyone, please, any ideas at all?

It's asking you for my apple id password. not going to give that out, sorry.
However I did try this projector on my mother in laws iphone 4 and on my old iphone 3. ipico software isn't needed. plug and play any video through standard movie player or camera saved video.
I tried on my girls iphone 5 with the adapter. The ipico software and projector doesn't work on this phone.
Hope this helped you. Better to buy a used iphone 3 or 4 and use it for video storage.
I also found that the battery on these projectors are a joke (30-60mins max). I rigged a longer lasting battery on the outside and keep it plugged in while using. This doesn't charge the phone though so I replaced the battery in the old iphone 3 and now get at least a full length movie from it. Great in bed projected onto the ceiling.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my C6380? The LCD display doesn't pop up when the printer starts.
It just lay down all the times. Even I reset the printer with (press: Print Photos + Red Eye Removal), same thing happended.

If you get an network timed out error, try disabling the security software on your computer.

When I click on a link in an RSS feed it used to indicate that I'd viewed that particular link by changing the icon to the left of the link. It doesn't do that anymore. This started happening right around the time I updated to Firefox 4, but may have been a little before that too. For some things, like news and web comics it's just a little annoying. For important things like looking for new journal articles for my job, it literally makes my job more difficult. So fixing this would make my day.
I seem to have solved my own problem. When I disabled the add-on "Tab Renamizer" everything started working fine.

How come I have to put in a keychain password every time safari or mail is opened? Is there a way I can disable it or save the password so it doesn't pop up every time? Also, I have my mail account set up from my Yahoo! account and every time I open mail, it asks for the password for my Yahoo! account. I have checked save this password to keychain and it persists on popping up repeatedly.
You don't want to disable keychain (if there's even a good way to do so), since it stores stuff like certificates and the such. It's quite useful.
Anyways, Keychains>Preferences>First Aid. Check Set Login Keychain as default. When you login, it unlocks the keychain.

Iphone 4s doesn't turn on anymore!!
My iphone 4s doesn't turn on anymore. It does shows it needs to be charged but it has been charged all night long and the battery should be full by now. The night before it did turn on a few times but it only showed 1% was charged while I was charging it didn't charge.. What can I do to fix it? Is it the battery? Because it's not the charger.

I know it can be frustrating when a button on your iPhone no longer functions. The step you mentioned to reset the iPhone would be the step I would recommend if the Sleep/Wake button did function. I had some problems with my MacbookPro and did some clean up and further back-up (time machine already in place for a long time). Now, suddenly I can't access my pictures anymore through iphoto asking me for a library (never asked for before) and I have no clue where the pictures are actually saved when imported in iphoto. Can anyone help me recover my pictures, such as telling me WHERE the pictures are actually stored? Thank you so much!

Do you have an iPhoto library in yoru pictures folder? If you depress and hold the option key and launch iPhoto - what do you see in the select library window? Select each library there and see what you have

I purchased a wireless keyboard for my iPad a week ago and now the keypad doesn't pop up when I want to type anything.
Have you tried to go into bluetooth and telling it to forget your keyboard?
Drastic but might enable you to repair the devices and see if it clears up the glitch.
I had a period of time when my iPad always sensed and used my bluetooth keyboard. I think it finally went away after I powered down the iPad. (not just a put to sleep, a bonafide 'slide the red slider to shut it down' powering down. -
I prefer Yahoo search. In previous versions of Firefox, the search engine would pull up the list of possible websites. Clicking on the link would open that website in a new page. It doesn't do that anymore. It simply opens the link forcing me to continually go back and forth instead of just being able to close the new tab if it's not what I'm looking for. How do I get the old way to work again?
