Export error and failing to render

I'm using Premiere Elements 7 and after editing a video, it is not letting me export it anywhere. I've tried numerous settings and I keep getting the same error message:
Can anyone point me in the direction of what is going wrong and how I can fix it please?

glydie86
What is the computer operating system on which you are running Premiere Elements 7? What is your export preset under Share/Personal Computer/MPEG?
What is the duration of your Timeline, and, before you hit the Save button in the export area, what do you see for file size and duration at the bottom of the export area?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 7?
Are you getting any error messages about MPEG2 Encoder Activation? Or, is the "failure to return a video frame" your only error message?
But when all is said and done, the probable cause of the issue will probably go to an irregularity in the Timeline content...a video gap...a fragment. You need to expand (to the max) the Timeline content with the -+ slider above the Timeline and look for such flaws in the Timeline content and remove them. Look for fragments that present as very thin black vertical lines scattered among the tracks content. Check all the tracks that are there even if you have not used them yet. A fragment or a thought deleted clip may be sitting there.
Please update us on your progress.
Thank you.

  • LR 2.1 - Importing catalog sees 'Unknown Error' and fails.

Anybody else seen this dialog box?
'Could not import catalog due to unknown error'
This is happening in LR 2.1. First catalog import attempt. I've had no issues previously.
Upon importing, LR will go through the whole process as though importing, and then at the end of the progress bar, I get the above dialog box. And nothing's there. The import failed.
    Anyone else seen this? Suggestions?

    (MacBook Pro intel 2.2)

    Hey Geoff,
Great to hear from you, as always. :)
Well, there were more un-cataloged images that may have been contributing to the situation. I had created web-rez images for my client within subfolders of the main client folder. Once I synchronized, the images were added. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error message at the end of my import. Now, the weird thing is, if I import the LR catalog only, it disappears after the error message. But, if I tell the import to include the 'Digital Negatives', which includes all the session files (RAW,PSD, jpegs), after the import and then the error box, everything seems to be there and actually looks fine. At least as far as I can tell. I can see the all the files, the ratings, the keywords, etc. A little un-nerving though to say the least. I'm afraid to dump my original catalog and folders.
FYI, what's going on is that I work on my current client sessions (including all related files) off of my MacBook Pro as my 'Current' catalog. I then have my main LR Catalog (all other images) on a back-up RAID drive. So I'm trying to export from the MBP, over to the back-up RAID LR Catalog.
Again, the 'Export' seems to go fine. Not sure what's going on here.
Thanks for your help and input.

  • Unknown exporting error and lack of gpu support.

I'm not sure if these two problems are related.
When I opened Premiere Pro CC, my video windows were black.  The clips seemed to be playing (there was audio and the histograms still worked) but the video preview was black.  I fixed this problem by going to project setting and changing the renderer to software only.  I was a little disturbed that I had to do this, but it didn't bother me too much because the videos still played back smoothly.
When I try to export my project (tried with various formats, from within premiere, and from adobe media encoder) the export fails about halfway through.  In Premiere it says there was an unkown error.  In media encoder progress stopped being made, so I eventually closed the program.  I have tried restarting both the programs and my computer, but to no avail.
It should be noted that during the export from adobe media encoder, my gpu crashed and then immediately restarted itself.  That is what makes me think these two problems are probably related.  Please help.

    Thanks a lot!

I asked about the administrator way because often users think they automatically run CP as administrator when they have administrator's rights on the system. But right-click menu is the correct way (use the Advanced button to have it open always that way).
I know, the installation instructions are not included, they are somewhere in the Help, maybe also on the Captivate blog. Michael Lund posted the instructions on his blog, and I have a link to that post in the one I posted the same day about preserving customisation settings when you refresh the Preferences folder:
Captivate 8.0.1 Install? Keep your Customisation! - Captivate blog
I mentioned it already in my first answer: easiest way to refresh Preferences is to close Captivate, search for a subfolder Utils in the Captivate installation folder. Then run the appropriate CleanPreferences file (depends on your OS). When you restart CP a new Preferences folder will be created. I would also recommend to clear the cache, and to delete the Layouts folder (see Michael's instructions). If you have custom workspaces, and other custom settings first follow my instructions in the blog post.

    Hi,
    Is this a fresh installation?
Please try the below and share me the status。
Uninstall the exchange from the server.
On the exchange server in NIC properties please enter the preferred DNS server as the
IP address of root domain GC server and reboot the server.
    Please attempt the installation again。
If this doesn’t work, please try using another admin account and try logging into the server and reattempt the installation to see if that allows you to complete without errors.
Please try to promote the server which is experiencing installation issue to Global Catalog and see if that allows you to complete the installation.

  • PE 7 memory and export errors

In Premiere Elements ver 7, I have put together a 4 1/2 minute video made up of mpeg4 HD 720p mixed with regular avi digital footage. I am having memory errors and export errors when trying to render into a wmv or mpeg file.  When working on previous videos with non-HD footage, I didn't have these issues. I also recently put together a 1 minute mpeg4 HD 720p video rendered into HD 720p wmv file without any issues.
    1) memory errors - I got these when I was putting the video together and when rendering. After a lot of restarting the PC and reworking the video, I was able to finally complete in pre-render format.  It includes music soundtrack and transitions/effects.
    Here are my PC's specs:
Dell Inspiron 530 with Intel Quad Core CPU 2.66Ghz processor
    4 GB RAM
    32 bit OS
    Windows Vista SP1
When rendering, I get the "caution - low memory, save your work" message. I have since set the virtual memory paging file size per Technote kb404939.  This seems to have helped a little bit but still getting the message even though it continues to render....but then I get the export error message....
    2) Export errors - I first tried to render into a wmv HD 720p 30fps file. In the first 1 of 2 rendering phase, I got the "Export Error - failed to return a frame - cancelling operation" message. I checked for gaps in the timeline and there are none. Even though I do have some black space/dip to black sequences, I can "page down" through the entire movie without any pauses or hiccups with the CTI (Current Time Indicator).
I then tried to render into a smaller wmv LAN speed file, and it went through the first 1 of 2 phases rendering (with the low memory message but it kept on going). Just after it started into the 2 of 2 rendering phase, I got an error message saying "Export Error - Unknown Error".
What to do? I'm very frustrated at this point after a great deal of time invested in this video and troubleshooting the issues. Please help. Thanks.

What are the sources of your video? What types of camcorders did this video come from?
Premiere Elements supports AVCHD video, but does not work well with video from Flip and webbie camcorders, which use proprietary codecs. They can also use non-standard frame rates. Conversion is usually necessary before the files can be edited in Premiere Elements.
And does your DV footage come from a miniDV camcorder captured over FireWire? And what project settings are you using in Premiere Elements.
I would also not recommend mixing HD and DV footage in the same project. This could also be contributing to your problems.
I also recommend you visit Windows Update and manually download any (even non-critical) updates. Vista should be at least on SP2. You may also want to download the latest version of Quicktime.

  • HELP! Adobe Muse encountered an unexpected error and will have to be terminated. BD/getColorBoundsRe

I keep getthing message when my file loads in the program "This document contains 3 links to assets being unsampled. You should resize smaller or right-mouse click on the assets in the Assets panel to see additional options."
    and then I click okay.
I get to the plan mode and then I try to go to the design mode (so i can fix the assets) and at about 90% loading it gives me this message "Adobe Muse encountered an unexpected error and will have to be terminated.
BD/getColorBoundsRect-ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData." and i have to terminate the program...
How can i fix my assets so i can open my program? I use muse beta prerelease.

Well, after 20 hours of work and rebuilding most of my Muse website I finally was able to upload by site again.
Here was my problems per above and the last 20 hours. When publishing the site it does the following: Optimize assets, exportin desktip page 1 thru 19, Fining export HTML files then uploading images which I have 2208 on this site plus other stuff uploaded.
I can not answer why it now works as "normally"it would het error #2015 uring optimizing assets wich is an invalid bitmap data error and failed at only 9% publish process then got a 1125 index 0 is out of range0 at publish 20% complete.
I did rewrite most of the pages and made minor changes to all of them thinking that would force all pages to be uploaded as I also took option to upload all pages instead of just those that changes. All 2008 images were reloaded onto the pages by another hint I read on how to delete all thumbnails and thus the files is to select all and press delete and it will leave one as required. Then the one left could be deleted by itself. Thanks for whoever asked the question and who answered it. This saved me a lot of time.
Thanks to all that have taken the time to help me out. Muse is a great program but sometimes you don't have any idea if it is working at something so I found myself looking at the computer busy light to see if Muse was taking a lot of cycles. It would help to have a wider use of the cursor busy indicator as sometimes the system seemed like it was hung up but it was not.
    Thanks guys!

  • Error compiling movie in Premiere and failed export in AME (CS6) - PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi,
I'm trying to export from my timeline which contains multiple mxf files shot with a canon xf105. i'm using cs6 on an apple mac and I never had this issue before:
When I try to export to a quick time movie directly from Premiere I get this message after 5 seconds:
When I send the video to AME I get this message including a sound of a sheep after 10 seconds:
I have about 100 7 second clips that make up an 11 minute movie. I copy and pasted 4 clips (28 seconds) into a new sequence and tried to export it and it worked, both directly through premiere and through AME. Does that mean that premiere and AME can't handle so many clips? Or why is it showing me an error?
I'm helpless and I need to finish this project very soon, I would be SO GRATEFUL for any help. Don't know what to do ..
    Thank you!

Thank you John. I sat all night for about 8 hours on it and found out what caused the error. I had about 100 clips in my timeline that I was trying to export as one movie. Four clips caused the error. These four clips would playback perfectly in premiere, the whole timeline would render and everything seemed normal. Only after exporting 5 clips at a time I could see where the export would fail and show an error. At the end it was four clips, these four would playback fail to export, causing the entire sequence to fail.
I have one question about this:
1 How and why did this happen? Does that happen often with MXF files shot on a canon xf camera?
2 How can I avoid this to happen again in the future?
3 Isn't there a quicker way to find out which clips are causing a problem, rather than having to export each of them first to find out (which is a very annoying thing to do if you're literallt working with hundreds of clips)?
Would be great if somebody has any insight for future reference!!!
    Thank you!

  • Export error message and render error message

    Hi all,
I just finished a16 min. movie, lots of hours containing two slides shows and a bunch of short video clips, lots of effects, transitions with jpgs, pip's, animated gifs and you name it.  It came out great!  ON THE COMPUTER THAT IS!... I am running pe7 on a brand new hp elite 410y desktop - AMD Phenom II x6 six-core processor 1045T, 8 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM, 3MB L2 cache + 6MB shared L3 cache memory, 1TB seriel ATA hard drive and ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphics with 1GB DDR3 dedicated memory. My operating system is windows 7 home premium edition 64 bit.  I used jpg's from three different camera's, downloaded google images, as well as the animated gifs.  I took some video from my Nikon coolpix L110 and converted all mov files to avi using the free Prism converter...I didn't think to just use premiere to export to DV AVI.  I also took youtube video and converted them to avi.  I kept getting adobe system memory low, proceed with caution, did a bunch of saves and got throught it.  I tried to render and the error unknown compiling movie message kept coming up.  Well, at that point I just broke down, so many hours and then having to show the actual finished product to my friends, the stars of this movie on my little 20" computer monitor and not my big screen tv sucked...so dissapointing but moving on.
I started to search the forums and read another thread that Steve Grisetti answered about changing all photos to no more than 1000x750 and then try to split up the movie and export in premiere to DV AVI.  I only had a few photos like that, changed them and I still keep getting the same error message.  I tried just taking the first minute, did a save as, named it test and tried to export, no luck.  There seems to be something in the first part that premiere does not like and I did notice on playback that some of my effects were not working i.e. video pip sliding in from the left of the screen over a jpg.  I am so frustrated.
I finally chopped it up to three parts and tried exporting the 2nd part of just the video clips to DV AVI, no problem but changed my look.  When I hit export movie and look at the settings summary Filetype is CompilerMPEGproxy, the Video settings are Compressor: I-Frame only MPEG Frame size 1440h 1080v (1.333) Frame Rate: 29.97 frames/second Pixel Aspect Ration: HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333) Fields: Upper field first, Audio Settings are Compressor: uncompressed Sample rates: 48000 sample/second Channels: Stereo and Sample Rates: 16 bit.  If I change to DV AVI, then the whole look changes, probably because the frame size is only 720h 480v.  Is there a way to export to DV AVI and keep the larger frame size?
I wanted to keep the original size, so I just tried to render part 2 and part 3 as is and had no problem, but now the audio skips. I have a wav file on part 3 and part 2 has the converted avi audio that came with the clips.  Please help, any suggestions will be most appreciated.  I can't start all over...I'm burnt.
    debby

    Hi Steve,
Thank you for your promptness...I am still a little confused though, I made a copy of my final movie and was working off the copy to try all these different scenerios to get it to render and now have alot of different projects, same movie, different project names.  Should I delete all the copies and take my original and go to Edit/Preferences/Media Cache and clear the media cache.  Then the timeline menu and delete render files and then go to the FAQ's to troubleshoot.
A quick second question:  I did get to render two parts of the whole movie, but the audio is skipping.  Can that be fixed and can I use it?
    Thank you,
    debby

  • Error "Motion patch failed to render"

    Hi all.
I am trying to approach the same topic I approached a while ago here but with no cuccess.
This problem has ground my productivity to a halt.
Every time I go to render a sequence that has any motion template files in it I get this error "Motion patch failed to render"
Therefor I have to export the whole sequence via compressor to view the clip. This takes hours and hours.
    Can anyone help.
    PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!

I kinda doubt they're compatible.  Try exporting from Motion as a selfcontained qt with settings that match your fcp sequence and see if that will come in to fcp.

  • Codec Not Found error when trying to render/export layered sequence

I have a sequence that I never had problems with in the past but as of yesterday when I open the project and try to render or export. I get the infamous dialogue box saying, "Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card."
I've narrowed it down to only being a problem wherever I have two particular types of media clips layered one on top of the other. In this case it is occurring wherever I have an Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) clip layered with an Animation codec clip containing a graphical bug that was created in After Effects and exported as a Quicktime Movie with RGB+Alpha. Because of the Alpha channel in the bug clip, it is automatically given the Animation codec upon export from After Effects to retain and preserve the transparency needed. I've also narrowed it down to only occurring when all this is combined on a sequence with its compressor set to standard ProRes 422 or ProRes HQ. If I set it to any other codec, such as any DV/DVC Pro or MPEG IMX codec then I can render and export again.
Also interesting is that I can nest the sequence into another sequence and render and export just fine as well, even with it set to either ProRes codec (which will probably prove to be a suitable workaround for the time being), however, any additional insight into this issue that anyone can provide, pertaining to what may have changed or caused my original sequence to suddenly not want to render anymore would be greatly appreciated.
And if anyone else reading this comes across this this same type of problem themselves, then I suggest what I just got to work: Duplicate your sequence, then delete the clips from the new sequence and nest the original sequence into it.
Here is some additional background info if desired:
I'm using FCP 6.0.6. The sequence I have going here is set to Apple ProRes 422 and consists entirely of Quicktime Movie files. Video Track 1 has the main video clips using the ProRes HQ codec (Again, even with the sequence set to ProRes HQ, it doesn't make any difference here). Track 2 has a graphic bug that was created in After Effects and layered over the Track 1 clips at various places. I was able to work with these clips and render as well as export the sequence with no problems last week. However, I was requested to revise the bug in After Effects, and then replace the old bug with new bug and export the sequence again. So yesterday, I simply opened up the After Effects project file for the bug, made the revisions and exported it with a new name using the same settings as the previous bug. The render problem I'm now facing surfaced right when I opened the FCP project file yesterday, before even importing and replacing the old bug with the new bug. I went ahead and imported the new bug and placed it in place of where the old bug occurred. But the render and problem remained. On this particular problem sequence, I can render the new bug if I actually disable or remove the ProRes clip beneath it, but I cannot in turn render the ProRes clip after disabling/removing the Animation clip above it.
Now, I can copy either type of clip into their own sequence allowing the clips' respective native settings (ProRes HQ & Animation) to take effect and then they will playback and export just fine. I can even copy the bug clip (Animation codec) and paste it into the other clip's ProRes HQ sequence and it will render and export just fine from there as long as it is placed next to the other clip and not layered over it. On these newer sequences, it is only when the bug (Animation) clip is layered over the ProRes HQ clip with the sequence set to ProRes or ProRes HQ do I tend to still get the "Codec not found" error.
I've also tried the following steps to try and troubleshoot to no avail:
    1. Copied entire sequence into a new sequence. Problem still occurs.
    2. Closed FCP, trashed preferences, and restarted FCP. Problem still not resolved.
    3. Opened project on another computer, had same problem.

Thanks for sharing these ideas about dealing with this error message.
For what it's worth, I finally managed to solve a similar issue by going into sequence settings, choosing the Video Processing tab, and changing Render 10-bit YUV to Render 8-bit YUV.
    Maybe this helps someone?

I'm very new to DPS so I hope the following description makes some kind of sense.
My magazine is in the process of doing trial runs for an iPad edition. I'm setting some templates up for us to work off so the process from magazine to iPad will run a lot smoother month to month.
So far I've set up some dummy stock pages in an InDesign CS6 document, currently 15 pages long.
All images are linked and all fonts have paragraph styles applied to them.
I'm at the stage I want to check the document on my iPad to test run font sizes and their legibility.
We have successfully been able to export the document as a jpg file but we really need the PDF format. When attempting this we get the above message.

  • SCCM 2012 Export Task Sequence fails with generic error message

We have a complex task sequence comprising of more than 50 applications\packages, 1975 drivers, 18 driver packages etc etc. Its long, it's big and it will not export with it's content.
We have several environments for development test and live. I am attempting to export the primary task sequence with all it's dependencies from live so that I can port it over to a new development environment.
I can export the zip file without content and it comes to 92Mb in size. The entire task sequence software set is 50Gb+. When I attempt to export with all dependencies and content the process gets about 60% of the way through and fails with the error
"Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"
Googling the error roughly defines the problem as 'the export process cannot access the defined source path for one of the dependant items'
I wrote a PowerShell script that looks as every application, package, driver, driver package, boot image, os image and software update package in the entire SCCM software library and verifies that each and every package has a valid UNC source directory
that can be reached using test-path.
I also wrote another tool that parsed the entire source software library on the server looking for permissions errors (permissions on the structure set at a directory level rather than inherited), directories that were too long, inaccessible or otherwise
    blocked, nothing was found.
It will take a very long time to go through and check each and every dependency by hand - time I do not have at present.
I looked in the TaskSequenceProvider.log as that is supposed to contain messages from the export process and found the messages in there far too high a level to use

    ====================
Is there any way of increasing the log verbosity? I need to see what item is causing the export to fail.
Is there another log containing the information about the export & what it is doing?
All out builds that use the task sequence complete successfully, we can edit the sequence fine, make changes etc. so no internal corruption we can find.
    Any ideas?

Torsten, smsprov.log did indeed prove useful, I could see every package as it was validated. Unfortunately the log was wrapping about every 4 minutes and it takes 3+ hours for the task sequence to reach the fail point so I still cannot see the offending
package as it wraps before I can get to the log.
I will increase the size of the log and see if I can maintain some details to investigate.
There was nothing of note in the event logs, certainly nothing leading me to suspect that WMI might be reaching its limits.
I will keep looking for the cause and will post here when I find it <= positive thinking :)
