Export Every 10 (or so) Images as Sequence

I would like a simple way to export an image sequence in FCPX without exporting every single frame. Much like in photoshop when importing a video as a sequence of images, I would like the option to export every 10, 20, 30 frames rather than every frame. Is this possible in FCPX? Any help would be appreciated.

If I understand you correctly... It sounds like you're trying to reduce the video size by "thumbnailing" every x number of frames for display??
To export an Image Sequence from video with 1 frame every 30 frames out of the video:
Make cuts at the In and Out points -- if multiple clips are involved, create a compound clip.
Select the clip to export.
Type Command - R (Retime) and drag the retime bar in to 3000%. (In a 30fps project, 3000% is 30.0 and 30fps/3000% results in 1 frame from each 1 second of video...)
In the Video Inspector > Rate Conform (show if necessary) and from the Frame Sampling menu select Floor or Nearest Neighbor (do not select blending or optical flow -- you want the nearest complete image.)
Export the "range" (compound clip or single clip) as an Image Sequence.
For 2 frames / second, drag the retime to 1500%... etc... (will result in twice as many frames in the sequence -- you'll have to do the math for the rest.)
Importing the images of the Image Sequence (recommend creating a new event dedicated to the images):
To apply the Image Sequence as 1 frame per second, In Preferences > Editing > Still Images > Editing Duration set it to 1.00 seconds.
Select All the images and type E (append to storyline) -- each image will occupy 1 second of time and thus be 1 frame per second. To adjust the frames to a faster frame rate, select all of the image clips on the storyline, double click on the playhead position indicator (clock under the canvas) and type the length of time you need each frame to appear (e.g., 15 would result in 2 frames per second; 7 in approximately 4 frames per second; etc. down to 1 resulting in 30 frames per second.)

Export problems multiple movieclips to image sequence

For our customer we made several flash animations. My output has to be image sequences for Cinemascope format. The export function in Flash for image sequences does not work! All my images are the same frame. This is frame 0 on the timeline. So the embedded movieclips wont playback.
When exporting a Quicktime movie, some frames are skipped and missing in the output! So the export options in Flash are totally not working for my situation. We bought an application SWF to image but also here are some frames missing in the export. I can not relay on Flash and this application.
The project is built like this: we made several movieclips and scaled them and put them in position. Then we made one new movieclip with all the earlier made movieclips inside. Then scaled the entire movieclip to the Cinemascope stage size.
Are we using Flash in a wrong way here?
Why does the exports functions don't work on my project? (built in movieclips won't play, quicktime mov skips images)
How can i solve this problem?

Ok this is workaround but should in principle do what you want:

1: open the fla file you want to convert to a movie and create a backup
2: Create a new Flash Javascript file and insert the code above, Make sure you have enough hard disk space in your destination folder
3: Press the play button and Flash will automatically parse through all items frame by frame in your library and save the images as png
4: Take a break as it might take a long time

I dont think PS will stack a smart obj that is a video. So, can PS save out the frames as JPG etc so I can reopen and then stack?
I dont have the space on my HD for Premiere or AE.

Suddenly Media Encoder won't export to .avi from a Premiere Pro sequence

Came back to work today and out of the blue Media Encoder just won't export to .avi from a Premiere Pro sequence. Working with CS5 on Windows 7. That was the last thing I did yesterday before leaving work and it worked just fine, and it has always worked without any problems ever since I upgraded from CS4.
Here are the steps I always take: go to Export-->Media from the Premiere Pro sequence and the settings open up, I select Microsoft AVI - PAL DV, click the queue button, AME opens up but nothing loads, the queue remains empty and nothing happens.
I tried the same but selected MPEG-2 instead and it works that way.
I also tried opening the sequence directly from AME and it does it but it doesn't give me the option to export it to Microsoft AVI, it's just not on the list.
I deleted all preferences and old metadata options saved from all applications but that didn't help.
Didn't install any updates whatsoever that might have changed anything at all from yesterday till now.
If anyone knows what the problem might be and how to fix it, that will be truly appreciated, thanks in advance.

After a couple of hours going through the registry and every folder and file inside "Program Files--Adobe--Media Encoder CS5" and trying to find the problem, I did.
Thing is, the ExportAVI.prm plug-in file wasn't missing, it was there in the "Plug-ins--common" folder together with every other exporter and importer file, it just wasn't being loaded by AME for some reason. So i found a folder named "txt" and inside it there was a file named "AddExporterList.txt" which I opened and, as you could probably imagine from its pretty self-explanatory name, it contained a list of the exporter files that AME was supposed to load, and the AVI one wasn't on the list.
I wasn't sure wether it was best for me to edit that text file and add the AVI exporter to the list or just delete the damn thing, so i checked on an older PC with the CS4 suite installed in it and the "txt" folder didn't even exist, so I just deleted it and opened up AME again and it loaded every single exporter .prm file including the ExporterAVI.prm of course and it works just fine now, so that's a load off my shoulders, hope this might help someone else in the future.

When we export records from the data manager, the image field exports as a sequence number, not the image filename. Is there any way that i can change this? Alternatively, can i export image data from the image manager which might provide me this link of sequence number to image filename??

I agree that using MDM Data Manager, main table record with linked image field exports as a sequence number, not the image filename. But You can easily export image file name using MDM Syndicator functionality.
As per my understanding, Image Manager will not solve your purpose as i feel it is nothing but now a part of Data Manager. I mean if you select your Images Table as current table in your data manager not Main table, you will get the same look and feel of Image manager. So when you open current table as Images in Data Manager and go to file-->export-> you can export Image name but it will not let you know about the relationship with main table record. I feel same thing will happen when you use Image Manager. So use MDM Syndicator which you resolve your issue of exporting main table record with image file name not image sequence number. You can also export Original file name, Code etc using Syndicator functionality along with Image name and main table record.

Coming in and whining loudly is rude. We are all volunteers here, voluntarily sharing our expertise so that users like you can make the most of their time with Aperture. Speaking just for myself: although I do care about your success with software (it's why I'm here), I don't care what software you use. If you want to use Lightroom, do so, and post your questions in an appropriate forum.
Burning files to a CD is a file operation done at the system level (it is built into OS X). Aperture lets your create sharable image-format files from your Images. You then use OS X's tools to burn those files to a CD. Iirc, you can set up a "Burn Folder" in Finder, into which you can export files created from your Images, and with a single click burn your CD.
Naming the files you create by exporting your Images can be tricky. There are _many_ possibilities. Some things can't be done. Sequencing can be done in a number of ways (see Léonie's answer above). What have you tried? What was the result? In what way did this differ from what you expected?

I know there are spacer.gif files under the theme folders but why is it looking for a spacer.gif file in the images folder? Is this a bug?

Yes I just checked it's a problem with theme 9 there are a couple of places where the theme calls #IMAGE_PREFIX#spacer.gif when it should call #IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_9/spacer.gif
There are two ways for you to fix this
1. Copy themes/theme_9/spacer.gif to the top level images directory, I recommend this one because then if someone creates the theme from the repository again it wont' come up agian.
2. Change all #IMAGE_PREFIX#spacer.gif to #IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_9/spacer.gif in theme 9, if you export the theme you can just us a search and replace the export to do this and then reapply the theme.
This as been bugged and will get fixed in future version.

Exporting a library will create a duplicate of the exported library items. Usually you do this to work on a partial library on another computer and later merge the changed images back. Splitting the library is not the primary purpose of exporting.
If you want to remove the library items that you exported, select them in the source list of the library inspector and delete them (File > Delete Original Images and all Versions). Then empty the Aperture Trash, after checking that you did not trash more than you wanted.
But check, if the backup of your Aperture library is in working condition, and check the exported library carefully, before you do such a massive delete.

Exporting a template with multiple images

Let's assume I want to have a large print made at an outside commecial lab because my printer does not handle the size.
In the Print Module, is there a way to export a template with multiple images so that it can be sent to an outside lab for printing?
Or, is this not possible and I would have to design the template in Photoshop and send the file to the lab?
If Lightroom is not yet capable of this, it certainly seems like a worthwhile feature.

I am on Windows and I do have PDF capability, the full Adobe Acrobat Professional.
I have been experimenting with your suggestions and, yes, saving it as a PDF and bringing it into Photoshop is a workaround. The images and Identity plate come into Photoshop as they appear in the template in Lightroom.
What doesn't appear in Photoshop is the whitespace(margins)around the images. They appear in the PDF, but they don't appear when I open the PDF in Photoshop. Is there a setting I'm overlooking in the PDF settings dialog that will correct this? Or, is this just the way importing a PDF works when it comes to margins? Must I always go to Image/Canvas size to get the canvas I want? Is there a way of not having to do this?

When exporting my indesign layout the images disappear once exporting as a PDF print.
I have had several information bubbles appear claiming I need to alter my blend space due or colour settings ?
I have altered the blend space to rgb and still it does not work.
I have also unlocked all the layers in attempt for this to work.
My assignment is due in tomorrow and still I cannot get this feature to work
any help would be great !

Not really helpful. OS X? Windows? Probably not relevant, as it turns out, for this problem, but you should be specific.

Does that mean you are trying to use Mac Preview to view the PDF? If so, it may give you bad results. Mac Preview is not a godd general-purpose PDF viewer and is incapable of rendering complex PDF.
The first error dialog you show is what you would get when opening a file in ID that has different document color spaces than the default settings in your color settings file. That's not a problem, and to preserve the color appearances you would leave things as they are.
The second warning dialog indicates you are making an interactive PDF, which is RGB. If you are using CMYK images I don't think you'll avoid color shifts no matter what you do if you have transparency, but I don't do interactive PDF, so I can't give good advice here. If you are using RGB images, by all means your transparency blend space should be set to RGB.

I made an album of my trip to Australia (lots of pictures) and changed the order of the images (not the same as shooting order) and when I export the images in the album to a folder or memorystick, the images are copied to that place but I lost the album order of the images.
How can I prevent that, without having to renumber al 500 images separatly?

The order in album is only kept in the organizer database, so the only way not to lose that order is to rename files.
If you are using the 'export' function, select your album in custom order, select all photos and in the dialog, choose to rename with a common base name.

Exporting grouped shapes as an image

I have grouped several shapes and text in a single graphic and would like to export into Pages as an image (jpg, gif, whatever). Is this possible? The only way I can figure is to export the entire slide but that is not really the same.

No, separating the text from the graphic did not help - same result. Basically, the graphic which is a collection of shapes and text, all layered to form a single graphic paste in to Pages as a collection of shapes and text. There is no layering, just a shape, followed by another shape, followed by a text element, followed by another shape - so on.

Any example?There is a request page in the mapviever configuration webpages, there you can send it to the server and get the image in return.
or you can write your own programm to send it to the mapviewer servlet using post and progress the response by yourself. Have a look at the mapviewer documentation pdf, there are some examples on the different possible different xml requests.

ICal: to migrate, do you have to export every calendar?

I'm gathering that to migrate the entire iCal, I should have exported every category I set up. Is that right?
I went to export and when I tried to import the .ics onto a new computer, there's really nothing there. For each of my categories (color coded for each client) should I have exported each one separately?
Is there a way to migrate an entire iCal?

You could copy the entire /Users/allegroj/Library/Calendars/ folder from the old computer into the /Users/allegroj/Library/ folder on the new computer.
If the computer is still pretty new and you haven't done much to it yet, with regards to software installation and user documents creation, an alternative would be to use the Migration Assistant application in /Applications/Utilities.

Every cut I make in the sequence window leaves one remaining frame from its deleted neighbor clip. How do I turn off this feature - It is driving me mad.

Here are 3 pictures detailing what I'm experiencing.
Picture 1; clip 1 tail frame.
Picture 2; clip 2 head frame.
Picture 3; clip 2 head frame is now tail frame of clip 1.
does this help describe what is happening? Basically every cut I make
leaves an unwanted frame as a ghost of the missing cut.
