Export fail quicktime 7.3 mov h.264

i can export no any format but not to mov h.264
it was working, i install adobe premier cs3 and it requires to get my video card driver updated, i capture some videos dv and edit them fine, but i cud not preview them so i updated the video card driver, nvidia geoforce fx5500 driver 163.75. after that quicktime mov settings appeared with funny pink color, when i try to change size, filter o video settings the next windows just close up. audio settings i can change but video settings no.
i update windows, drivers, quicktime 7.3 and no good.
any idea?

I'm not sure this new option does a very good job of adapting to the client's connection speed. I gave it a try, and my video (1 minute long, size 320 x 240) took over a minute before it started playing (on my cable modem 500 Kb/s connection). That seems unacceptable. Anyone know how to reduce the streaming file size, or speed it up?

  • Compressor Fails "QuickTime Error: -50" for h.264 Encoding

When I try to compress movies of 720p resolution or greater to h.264 Compressor often fails right at the start with
"QuickTime Error: -50". Any idea what this is or whether there's a workaround?
This is on an 8-processor Mac Pro (16 GB RAM) configured for 7 distributed processors via Qmaster. Export from QuickTime Player works, but I'm not gaining any benefits of multiprocessors. Other compression (to, say, ProRes422) seems to work fine with these files.
I suspect some kind of memory issue, but it seems to only be happening for h.264 compression, and while these movies are rather large, this machine is quite the beast, with adequate RAM.
    Help?
    multiple2x3Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Hi:
I've been experiencing all sorts of issues with compressor, somewhat like this. I think my quicktime plug-ins are the culprit. Example, I have been exporting directly out of Motion with no problems lately, but when I export to Compressor I see my "Flip4Mac" import window several times, then Compressor either fails to export, or crashes.
I would suggest trying a direct export from FCP or Motion, or whatever your source is. See if that works. Just bypass Compressor and choose your HD DVD option from the export window. It does the trick with Motion.

  • Export fails, quicktime error -50

fcpx will not export my project to the media browser or other devices. it starts to then comes up with a quicktime error -50. i did export a quicktime movie using media export but it loses sound a few minutes in and the video keeps playing.

    code: Quicktime Error -50.
error: -50 is the paramErr or error in the user parameter list. I.e., a parameter that you are sending to the procedure is missing or the parameter is unacceptable for one reason or another. E.g., a missing path element, filename with an unacceptable character, a destination target that is non-existant, a target prodecure expecting data that is not included in the file, etc.

  • Keynote with embedded .mov exported to Quicktime and then WMV (Flip4Mac)

    Hi,
I have a Keynote with an embedded .mov file (video and audio) half way through which exports to Quicktime fine ("Keynote .mov").
When I use Flip4Mac to convert the Keynote .mov to WMV the resulting WMV file works fine but stops when the audio of the Keynote .mov stops i.e. Flip4Mac doesn't render the last of the Keynote .mov
I have sought help over at Flip4Mac tech support forum but thought someone here might know the answer.
I have tried a variety of different .mov files in my Keynote but the same in all cases: export to QT is fine but Flip4Mac stops converting the Keynote .mov at the end of any audio.
I can extract the audio track and Flip4Mac will convert the Keynote .mov (video) all the way through.
    Help?

what format are the movies you placed on your slides? This makes a big difference in if they get included in the exported QT movie.

  • Still frames in project turn blurry after exporting to QuickTime

My sequence (standard definition) looks flawless when I play it back in FCP7 -- but after exporting it to QuickTime (export to QuickTime, self-contained movie, recompress all frames) a few of the still photos throughout the project are now quite blurry.
    Any solutions?

ah I see, well the freeze frame is just taking one field of your material (half the resolution as its interlaced not progressive) and inventing the other half to make up the rest of the information so I'm not surprised its looking blurry on output, the reason you're not seeing it before on your screen is that you never see full res on the canvas until you output unless you use a third party output device like Matrox or Aja.
I don't know if there are any tricks to sharpen this up (other than sharpen). I guess you could try de-interlacing the rest of the footage first? but stills out of dv res material are never going to be crystal clear.
    good luck with it

  • Canon HF-200 1080i50 - Looks good in FCE but Export to Quicktime is jerky

    Hi,
Title says it all really. I have FCE 4 and over the weekend I picked up a Canon HF-200 (PAL UK version). I am sort of impressed by the quality of the camera - I will probably post about that soon - but I have a real issue with 'Export to Quicktime' (the uncompressed MOV file).
I have the 'easy setup' set so that its 1080i50. I used Log and transfer. I dragged a couple of clips onto the sequence (which looks great - perfect playback on the Viewer etc), saved the project, chose to Export the sequence. It gave me a huge file as expected but its jerky and pixelated during movement. A similar test with 25p clips worked fine - the Quicktime Movie looks as it did on the viewer.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I also get the same problem. Just bought Canon HF 200 1080i50 European PAL model.
And i've filmed a bunch of test videos 50i fps and 25p fps.
And started to import in Final Cut Pro 6.0.5.
    Video settings:
    Sequence Preset: Apple ProRes 422 1920x1080 50i 48kHz
    Capture preset: HDV-Apple ProRes 422
And it all seems so weired:
Clips captured at 50i - looks interlaced and jagged - when i look at Item properties, there is Vid rate: 25fps Field Dominance: None ????????
    but
Clips captured at 25fps - looks OK - when i look at Item properties, there is Vid rate: 25fps Field Dominance: Upper (Odd) ????????
This all is not right .... there should be where 50i Field Dominance and not with 25fps

  • Do you have to finalize before you export to quicktime?

do you have to finalize before you export to quicktime?

No. They are basically doing the same thing.
Finalize is an export using QuickTIme, using certain presets (h.264) in all available sizes. And you don't get to specify where it is saved. It is saved in the Project Package, and is accessible to all the iLife Apps through the Media Browser.
With Export to QuickTIme you have flexibility to render in many video codecs, many audio codecs, and you can tweak the settings,

  • Keynote export to Quicktime = blank white screen

We have Keynote 4.0.1. We have a slide show that plays perfectly, but when we Export to Quicktime, the resulting movie has a blank white screen and our music track, but no narration and no graphics.
    Any clues?
    Thanks!

From your description your problem may be that you have QuickTime video embedded in your Keynote document.
QT video will play normally in a Keynote presentation, however when you export the Keynote presentation to a QT movie, the video will be blank. This is a long-standing issue with Keynote and the 4.0.2 update does not fix this problem.
There is no workaround using Keynote only.
You can export the graphics portion of the Keynote presentation to a QT movie and then embed that movie in a video editing program such as Final Cut Pro (I don't believe iMovie is up to the task). Once you've assembled all the pieces--the Keynote presentation, your narration, and whatever else--you will then be able to export to a QuickTime movie.

  • Quicktime export failed error -10

    Hi there,
Everytime I try and export to Quicktime Movie (with -for example- "broadband medium" option) I get a "Failed error -10" message.
This seems to work when I try and export ANY type of file, mpeg4/h.264/dv pal quicktime movies.
Any ideas... can't find anything about it after a quick search of these forums and google.
It used to work, and then stopped one day... can't trace my steps to find out why.
    Cheers,
    Nez

Been so long since I've seen one but isn't error -10 a I/O error message?
Are you using an external or networked hard drive when trying to export?
Does an export to your Desktop work as intended?
What is the file format of the connected drive?

  • File type for export as quicktime movie

I thought I read here that "Export as Quicktime Movie" produces a .mov file (although without the extension). I'm using Brightcove to host our videos, and their publishpod says it accepts .mov files, but doesn't seem to work with the file from FCE. Is it really a .mov? Or do I need to export using Quicktime Conversion (and burn up lots more time in the process?)

    Thanks...
I did search the forum and nothing addressed my specific issue. Sorry if I didn't phrase my question clearly.
Anyway, I suspect the problem is that the Brightcove software does not work well with the Apple Intermediate Codec. I had no problem with a .mov exported with H.264 compression. This adds extra time to my workflow, but I suspect it will be a necessary evil.

  • Quicktime export failed - out of memory

After I managed to open AVCHD (MTS) movies with AE CS4 I just tried to export a 2 min movie. I export as H264 1280x720.
I keep getting this error "quicktime export failed - out of memory"
It also happend when using SD movies
I have 2GB ram and a dual core inter E6550.
Does anyone encountered such problem ?

Are you rendering and exporting using the render queue, or are you using the Export command in the File menu? You should almost always use the render queue.
    See
"Rendering and exporting movies using QuickTime components" and
    "About rendering and exporting".

  • Export to Quicktime/Movie to MPEG-4 Quality Much Worse with Snow Leopard?

I just tried exporting an HD movie from iMovie using Export to Quicktime - Movie to MPEG-4 for the first time since upgrading to Snow Leopard and besides taking forever to export, the quality at the same settings I've used before is terrible. There's terrible macroblocking even on relatively slow moving scenes. I've exported several movies using the same workflow previously to upgrading and the video was perfect.
I use mpeg-4, H.264 encoding, 4096 bit rate, 1920x1080 HD resolution, key frame every 15 frames. It's definitely a change in the encoder as just sharing to the Media Browser results in expected quality.
As a test, I tried upping the bitrate to 5120 but it didn't help with the macroblocking.
Anyone with similar problems and/or a solution?

I've actually started noticing more artifacts using the Share to Media Browser quicktime presets. The movies that are created don't seem to be as high quality as ones I've created before. It's almost like quicktime is missing keyframes or something and then artifacting. It's not consistent. I've got one mobile formatted movie where it artifacts badly in the first minute and then not at all afterwards. It's kind of frustrating.

  • "Export as Quicktime Movie" -- won't play on other computers

When I use the "Export as Quicktime Movie" option and try to play it back on a Mac without FCP installed, it is missing components and won't play back in Quicktime Player. Of course, I can export with various compressions and then it's fine, but sometimes I want that big "original" file. Any thoughts? Thanks!
    Message was edited by: elisenew

You do need the codec you are exporting to installed in the other machine if you wish to play the exported file. A variety of codecs are available only with FCP installed.
A couple of possible solutions are a very high res H.264 or Download [ProRes decoder|http://support.apple.com/downloads/AppleProRes_QuickTime_Decoder_1_0_forMac] to share a prores file between machines.

  • File sizes increase steadily when exporting to Quicktime movies

I have a series of short (90 seconds or so) little segments in a sequence that are very similar to each other that I've just created one after another in the timeline. There are about 50 of these. They are each made up of still frames (a .PSD Photoshop graphic), overlayed text (Premiere text) and audio - no video. As I create each little segment, I'm exporting them to a Quicktime movie (H.264, 50% compression) and the Range set to Work Area Bar to control what gets exported. Although the resulting Quicktime movies play just fine, the problem is that as I get further and further down the timeline creating these movies the resulting Quicktime movie files get larger and larger. The first movie is around 12MB, the second around 16MB, the third around 21MB, and so on until the 50th one is over 400MB. Again, the movies play just fine, but there's no reason I can see that the 50th one is so gigantic (over 400MB in size) compared to the first one (at around 12MB).
This is a Windows XP Pro machine with 4GB RAM using Premiere Pro CS3 3.2.0.

    Silly question:
Are you sliding the Work Area Bar down the timeline to cover the new segments, or are you just extending it?

  • Exporting a 4 minute clip using H.264 Quicktime Conversion but it's 2.5Gb?

I have edited a 4 minute video using source footage at 1440x1080 50i. When I export using Quicktime Conversion and H.264 compressor it's taking forever and is coming out at a whopping 2.5Gb. I am sure I have used H.264 and Quicktime Conversion before and a file of this length and size should be about 15Mb. Also I remember it taking far less time.
Anyone got any ideas? I am exporting at the same size and using Best Quality.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, welcome to FCP forum,
Bit rate and frame size affect the file size, also best if you export sound as AAC not PCM.
If you are aiming at creating a movie for the web then yes, the final result should be well under 80MB.
Reduce frame size (customize it i.e. 480x270 etc.), keep bit rate at around 1,000kbts not 10,000, do some tests with a portion of the original movie (You could try broadband medium in the Use drop down menu). Initially FCP may show that the export is taking a long time (i.e. FCP shows an initial 7% done and seems to remain like that for rather long) but after a little while the operation is usually completed very quickly.
