Export Filters - Video Handling?
I can't seem to get access to exported video files from an export filter - anybody know if its possible?

It isn't possible, and I verified this with Adobe when I tried it almost a year ago.
I did try to work around the limitation by starting with the same input "photos" as the export but there were a some fatal flaws with this approach:
the only logical place to work with this information was before the files were written to disk, and the expected names were not available at this time.
if the user adds a filter to exclude videos that could have been exported, your plugin will never know about it and the videos that have been excluded
only certain file naming presets allow you to guess the name the files will be assigned by the export. Any naming using a sequence number (for example) makes working with video at the time of export impossible.
Users would keep tripping over these issues and any plugin using this approach won't be fun to support.

1) I can open a video and play it back at the speed of the video.
2) I can not get playback faster than 1 fps if there are any filters applied - the pre-render / buffering isn't working at all.
3) I can not "Render Video" by choosing either "Render Video from the menus or the Export Arrow button in the GUI.
As soon as I select either I get a Progress Bar that that says "Initializing Video Export" but never finishes. I have waited as long as 4hrs and still no dice.
I've tried with more than a few different videos and the result is always he same. Here are three of the videos I have tried with:

Any assistence or suggestions in solving this seemingly righteous bug would be greatly appreciated!

Is the trial version of Photoshop CC a function-limited (cripled) eddition or is it the full-featured version same as the purchased product? I had always thought they were the full versions but I thought I might check to make sure. -
I've tried several times to export my video in any possible way.
It always says that it takes a couple of hours and stops when it has 15 min left.
Already checked if I have enough space. iMovie also work really slow. Is the video too big for iMovie to handle?The Share menu changed in 10.0.6, and is now customizable from the Preferences of FCPX:

How do I export a video after trimming it? It seems I can only export "Original" (exporting "Current" saves an image of the first frame).

Hey, I have what I hope is a quick and easy question.
I shot a low quality video using my cell phone, put in on my computer, edited it in iMovie 06 HD, and now want to export the video without losing ANY quality-that is, I want/need to keep the quality of the movie in its entirety. The problem is right now the file is 1.38 GB, and in a .dv format. What is the best way to convert .dv formatted files to a more "universal" format, and then upload said "high-quality" compressed/converted video to YouTube? Note: Whether or not YouTube can handle .dv file extensions is beside the point, I still would like to know how to compress a .dv file to decrease the size it occupies on my HD as well as be able to share it across several platforms, apps, etc. So far the converter in iMovie 06 HD is pretty bad, but maybe there is a setting, or a different application I can use.. Any thoughts?

3. Final Cut Pro 5.1 (yeah...I know...what am I doing with this?)The best codec to use out of iMovieHD is H.264. The higher the bit rate, the larger the file, the better the quality.
I think videos uploaded to YouTube get recompressed by them before going live on their site. They use Flash for video although they've been adding H.264 for AppleTV and iPhone/iTouch users. However even if they use H.264 they still might be recompressing your video to make it smaller which could decrease the quality from the original. -

You can "daisy chain" FireWire devices. Plug your IF into the Mbook, and plug your external disk into the IF (it has two ports...), or do it the other way around, whatever seems to work best.
The whole chain will be as fast as your slowest device, and I think the FPod is FW 400, so the disk will also operate at that speed. Many people work like this on their laptops, and it works fine. Better than USB.
Don't use USB for it. USB needs CPU and is in general less efficient in handling audio. Daisychaining FW-devices is the way to go.

Picture stills are shaking when I export my video
Hi,
I finished doing my video reel and in some parts I created stills from my video. I tried exporting the video with different settings because I'm thinking it's the export settings data rate that's making them shake. The videos look fine and I don't want to sacrafice my video quality to save the stills. Anyone know what's going on?

Video stills show both fields...interlaced. You need to de-interlace.

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine. I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing. Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error. It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in. Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

I am using the old imovie HD on my old Mac laptop... it works fine, but when I export a video to YouTube there is a black frame around it.. how do i get rid of that? thanks!

You may want to check to make sure the clip hasn't been moved back and forth between wide screen and standard aspect ratios; sometimes a combination of letterboxing and pillarboxing can lead to a black frame "windowbox" when playing the final video. You may find the following article helpful:

Help with exporting Minecraft video
Hello. My name is Reynir Aron. I make Minecraft videos and I recently switched from Final Cut Pro 7 to Premiere Pro CS6 and I love using Premiere.
However there is one little problem, when I export the video (even if I do it through Media Encoder) the video looks very smoothed out (for example the text looks really crappy and isn't pixellated).
Can anybody help me? The video is not being scaled up, the source video, my sequence and the export settings are all 1280x720.
By the way, is there any plugin or anything that lets me export using QuickTime Pro 7?

I have an iMac8,1 (Early 2008) with a 2,8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB and I'm running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.I think my daughter is using FRAPS, but of course not transcoding, just putting that right into Premiere. If your captured file is 30fps, what is the transcoded ProRes file? I don't know if ProRes supports non-video settings, so maybe that is converted to 29.97? But then the edit sequence is 30fps, and I do see an issue - FIELDS is set to LOWER, but should be PROGRESSIVE. That could be causing the jaggies issue on your output.
How did you create the editing Sequence? Try creating a NEW SEQUENCE with the same settings, except make it Progressive, then copy/paste contents of interlaced sequence into the progressive sequence and then Export again, see if that helps. Or just do a short sample to check, to save time.

How do I export a video without a heavy blue cast
I use imovie 3. I can download and edit my movies. The finished product looks good on the computer. However, when I export, the video has a very heavy blue cast even when viewing on the computer. But, if I export as an email or web file then the colour is ok but the quality is poor. I would like to copy some of my videos on to cd's with correct colours. Any ideas??
You can only export in the same resolution that you imported.
That is if you shot in 720p you cannot export in 1080p.
Share > YouTube and select the highest resolution available.

How can I export a Video without making it darker than the original file?

I'm working on a footage shot with the Canon 5D and since the first step in the post I exported the raw footage with Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and worked with it in After Effects and later on FCP and then the usual Color and Compressor. But somehow every time I exported it, it got darker and darker... I tried using Animation codec instead of Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and it didn't get dark but the files are HUGE and in the end I have to export the video in H.264 for internet. Does anybody out there have any idea what should I do and which compression should I use and how?

I have the latest version of Adobe Premiere, CC 2014 but whenever I want to render and export a video that is typically 70 megabytes in size I can't seem to always see how big the file will end up being for all the formats and I don't want to end up with a video larger than 250 to 300 megabytes in size just for the extremely best or highest quality even though I want the video to be well polished and in better quality than I usually get thee, These videos are usually imported as mp4. What file version of mp4 or otherwise would give me an originally imported video of 70 megabytes an output of no more than or around 300 megabytes or even less without compromsing video quality? I don't want a huge file size as I am uploading it to my YouTube channel via their web interface on another person's machine and they don't have Premiere and only has a DSL connection. So what video output settings should I use for a good quality video that isn't smaller than the original but the same size or a bit higher and not extremely large like MOVs and sometimes mp4s usually are depending on what you do to it and it is outputted.?

Preset: YouTube (make sure this matches the dimensions of your sequence)
You could further adjust the Target Bitrate but the preset is already setup for a good quality file for upload.
