Export Flash Video With Transparent Background

Is it possible to export an After Effects Comp to a Flash Video with a transparent background?
I have made a simple animation with no background. I'd like to export the Flash Video to go on a web site. I'd like to keep the background transparent.
Can this be done, and is there a checklist of what I need to select in "Make Movie"?
Thanks!

from "Render and export a composition as an FLV or F4V file":
"To include the alpha channel in the FLV output, use the On2 VP6 codec and select Encode Alpha Channel in the Video tab of the export settings dialog box."

  • Video with Transparent background

Hi I am trying to create a video through Adobe Premiere Elemements 10 that has a transparent background.
I need it to be in .FLV, .SWF or .MP4 format.
I have created the alpha etc but i think i am not exporting it correctly.
Can anyone explain the steps for creating the video with transparent background and how to export it for those file types please?
    thanks.

I've not used the software, as I said a quick google threw it up. From looking at their further screens (http://www.increditools.com/flash_video_studio/features.php#flash8alpha) and (http://www.increditools.com/flash_video_studio/samples.php#flash8alpha) a probable workflow would be to create an original in PRE against your green screen and export this as DV (for standard resolution) or HDV (for HiDef). Once in the Flash software it is probably then just a case of using an eyedropper to turn your green screen transparent.
However your best option would be to install it and play around. Looking at their FAQ, similarly to the PRE trial, it installs as a trial version that will place a watermark across your finished video.
If you do try it out please be sure to post back here about its effectiveness - it may help others.

  • Can I turn greenscreen video into video with transparent background (instead of default black backgr

Can I turn greenscreen video into video with transparent background to  overlay on another video in another program.  probably export as avi.     I know I can in after effects  but comfortable with premiere.   basically want to turn the greenscreen from a black to transparent background  ppro cs6     windows
[ email address removed by forum host ]

Harm is correct. It would be better to edit in the program where you keyed out the green. However, if you really must ...
DPX is one file per frame. While you may not be able to open it from Windows, it is only because Windwos has not been told to open them in Photoshop.
The whole point of the DPX file is to have a visually lossless storage of your frames that is designed to be used between applications (just what you want to do): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Picture_Exchange
However, if you prefer to use another option that you are more comfortable with, you can use PNG.
    Or...
If you insist on a single video, use the Animation codec for Quicktime.
In any case, you need a picture format or video CODEC that can store an Alpha Channel.
    Or.....
Export the video with the black and use a Luma key in the next application.
    Or ...
Export the video with the black, and then export a video of just the alpha channel as a blabk and white image where black is transparent when used as a track matte, and then in the next application use the video of the alpha channel as a track matte.
Since you haven't said what the other application is or why you want to use it, we are having a little trouble offering a specific solution.

  • How can I export a file with transparent background?

    Hi all,
I know InDesign doesn't allow to export a PNG file, but I need my file to be in image file format with transparent background.
I'm still learning so I am stuck here. How can I export a file with transparent background?

If you can't get the PNG file export to work, you can export a pdf and open it in Photoshop, from there you can save it as whatever you like.

  • Flash exe with transparent background

    Hi,
Is there a way to project an EXE with transparent background from flash (only using flash).
    If not only flash,
then what else should I use??
As I know there are softwares like NorthCode, Zinc, etc., But all of them affects the script in some way like "fscommand("quit");, loadMovie();" does not seem working.
    What I exactly need is:
      1) Flash projector (EXE as well as APP) with transparent background
      2) I need to loadMovie (call exteranl swfs) into the main projector file.
"note:The external swfs are FlashPaper files, so I should I have access to API, so that I could resize them, edit UI as I want."
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Export locally png with transparent background

Is it possible to use Ps touch to remove the background from jpeg images and  export them locally as png with transparent background (reducing the size of the picture)? I would need to use this feature to create more keynotetouch-friendly images.

Yes. That's possible. You can export a PSTouch project as png to the Camera Roll....and there are other channels as well where this is possible, like  "Share By E-mail" , "Send to iTunes" etc.
Those options are accesible via the Share  menu (see attached screenshot) as part of the PSTouch project organizer

  • How to export animated gif with transparent background and glow effect?

I've been having issues lately with creating animated gifs in flash. I finally figured out a way to export a gif with a transparent background but I'm now having an issue with it again because I'm using a glow effect. When the gif is exported the glow effect changes into a very poor quality and becomes less of a glow and more like a solid color. I've even exported a png sequence from flash and put it into photoshop then created a gif from there but I'm still having the same issue. Is there anyway I can properly export this in gif form so the quality is the same as when I test it in flash?
I've provided an image of what my issue looks like and the settings (I've messed around with the settings and this is the best I can come up with) . This is in photoshop but the result is similar in flash. The left one is what it originally looks like and the right is what it will look like after exporting. As you can see as I said before the glow changes into more of a solid color kind of like a border. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

A GIF is limited to 256 colors while a glow effect likely wants to tie up thousands (let's just say 'lots') of variations of tone.

  • How do I save stock footage as flash file with transparent background?

    Hi
I have some stock footage of smoke on a black background (.mov format) that I would like to convert to a flash file with a transparent background, which I will be overlaying over a PNG image on a webpage.
I have managed to remove the black background in After Effects using a plugin called UnMult, but when I try to render as a FLV file in AE, even though I check the option to preserve the alpha channel and encode using the On2 VP6 codec, I still get a black background.
So I am wondering what else to try, whether it be with AE or Flash CS4.  Is there a way of achieving this effect by directly importing the MOV file into Flash CS4 and removing the black background there, or do I have to use AE, and if so, how to achieve the effect I am looking for?
I would be grateful for any help in getting this together
    Thanks
    Nick

You can put the video file in a movie clip and change it's
blending in the properties panel to multiply or screen.

  • Export white gif with transparent background

    Hi,
I suppose this is a bug, or has anybody an idea: I have a transparent canvas and a white drawing. Very simple thing. Now I want to export this as a gif, just like it is: transparent background, white drawing. But this seems to be impossible. I can choose any of the available settings in export dialog (no transparence, index-transparency, alpha-transparency), Fireworks will never export the image correctly. Either I have a total white or a total transparent gif, I even got a white drawing on black background (but can't reproduce it).
    System: Mac, Fireworks CS5
    Thank you, Michael

Set the Transparency type to Alpha when you export.

  • Export to png with transparancy

    hey, can this be done?
export to png with transparent background
even setting the background of the slide to "none" doesn't work
if you can't achieve this, does anyone have any ideas how I could do a workaround?
    cheers, D

Ahh, I read this and thought you required the export. You essentially want to take an image from Keynote into some other application WITH transparency, correct? If so, you may want to take a look at Skitch.
http://www.plasq.com/skitch -currently in public beta as a free download
You could copy the items as you're currently doing, then open Skitch and paste them in. Your objects will appear with a white background. Next, click the color well at the bottom of the colors on the right hand side in order to bring up the color palette. Change the opacity to Zero, then hold down Shift, while clicking in the color well. The background is dropped out and you have full transparency. You can even use Skitch to resize the image to exactly the size you want it to be. Click and drag the tab and to export at that size.

  • Export with Transparent Background

I do realize this has been asked again and again.  Just making a reality check. I created a lower third. Time and time again the import into Final Cut Pro was on a solid black background instead of a transparency.
I followed every post and followed the directions - with no success.
Finally I exported my Motion lower third as a Template.  The effect appears as a Generator in Final Cut.  When I use the created Generator in my timeline the lower third has a proper transparency and works properly.
Is that really the only way to import a Motion graphic with transparent background??     Yes, I did try creating a Movie in ProRes 4444, my project does have a transparent background selected, etc.  I feel as if I am missing something.

    Much appreciated  :-)
I purchased the lower third from Videohive.  It has the basic graphic but lacks titles. While I was watching Motion tuturials, I thought I would customize the lower third with a fancy text animation.
I tried a few experiments based on what you said.  I see now.
So it appears that even though my proxy media lacks the alpha channel and does not display with a transparency, the moment I switch FCP to view Optimized/Original media, the transparency works correctly.
So I assume I can still use proxy media (if needed) and ignore the lack of transparency until my final render.  As long as I am exporting from Motion using ProRes 4444 it should work correctly.
    Does that reasoning make sense?
Looking at many posts across the internet, I think this is the very issue that has tripped up many people.
Thank you for your helpful comment. I was going nuts trying to figure it out.

  • AE CS3: Crashes on export to Adobe Flash Video (with audio)

I have a 10 second comp I'm rendering to Adobe Flash Video. The comp has a wav file on it.
I have ram previewed the comp and it plays back just fine.
When I render it to Adobe Flash Video via the render queue my comp crashes at 30 frames in everytime.
However if I remove the wave file from my comp, AE will fully render the comp to an FLV file.
I have also tried replacing the wav file with another random wav file - I get the same crash everytime at 30 frames in.
I also made a comp from scratch and tried to render it to Adobe Flash Video with a wav clip and it crashes 30 frames in every time.
Please note when it hits frame 30 on the render, a window pops up ( a dos type window ) and then the window closes along with AE right away leaving me with no error messages or even an error log. I was able to get a screen cap of the error and it's attached.
I am running Windows Vista 64-bit and this is the first problem I've had with AE CS3.
Is this a known issue and is there a workaround for this?

My apologies, I just found this support page and it helped me fix my problem:

I've never gotten it to work either. I usually set the
background to something not used in the animation, like bright
green, and then composite the video. I've never used Motion, so I
don't know if this is possible.

  • Using animated gifs with transparent background.

    Hi guys,
    Keynotes 6.2.
I have been onto apple support with this problem.
I add a transparent animated gif to my project.
It show as a movie correctly in the presentation but when exported as quicktime or HTML the movies fail.
We eventually found out that quicktime does not support animated gifs. ( support.apple.com/kb/ht3775 )
So I exported the animation onto a folder with all the frames separately and brought them into final cut pro.
I then followed these tutorials on how to export with transparent background. ( http://provideocoalition.com/mspencer/video/fcp-x-and-alpha-channels and http://www.larryjordan.biz/fcp-export-transparency ).
I now have a quicktime movie that if I bring back into Final Cut Pro it has a transparent background.
However when I bring into keynotes it still has a black background. (presumably keynotes does not recognise the  Apple Prores 444).
Any ideas how I can achieve what I need. ?
I am using a program called crazytalk animator and can output with transparent background. Animated Gif or a series of image stills BMP, JPEG, TGA or PNG.
    Cheers

This has been an ongoing issue for me since I switched from Powerpoint to Keynote. Most of the animated gifs with transparent backgrounds that I used with Powerpoint are no longer transparent in Keynote. You may want to search for those earlier threads on this topic...
To summarize: I've had to open up my animated gifs in After Effects and use the Color Key effect to restore transparency, with mixed success.
    Good luck!
