Export for flash-movie file conversion.

I want to prepare files for the highest quality possible for conversion to flash-movie files. I recorded in HDV- edited in HDV- send to Color in HDV- and now my question is if I should send it to FCP from Color in 10 bit-uncompressed to keep the highest quality?
Also at the end exporting from FCP- should I change my sequence settings? Again I need the very highest quality for later conversion to a flash-movie file, and was told that uncompressed is the way to go??
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks- Adam.

"Keeping" the quality isn't really the issue-- if you're working in HDV, there's nothing to gain by going to Uncompressed, because you weren't working in Uncompressed in the first place. The exception to this is color grading and graphics: ideally, you would be working in a higher quality sequence such as ProRes (Uncompressed is probably overkill) in both FCP and Color.
Of course, I can't honestly say that any of this will make a difference in a Flash movie-- Flash is for web delivery, and to bring it down to a bitrate suitable for the web, you'll likely lose anything you might have gained from this process.

  • Export a Flash Movie File

    Can you Export Flash Movie files to other formats?? Don see
    an Export to other File options.
    Would like to Export a Flash Movie or SWF file to a Quicktime
    or IPOD MPEG File.
    Anyone know where to do this? Do not see an Export to File
    option to that Format on Flash Pro CS.
    Thanks

    Without seeing your movie, its difficult to tell where the
    problem may be. My first guess is that the data rate is to high.
    You will probably need to choke that back in some way: lower the
    data rate for the compressor, reduce the frame rate, reduce the
    image size, reduce the color depth, etc.
    When you select to export to QT, for example, a new window
    opens to let you select some basic settings. At the lower right of
    that window is a button titled "Quicktime Settings...". Click that
    button and a new window will open that will allow you to set the
    compressor, frame rate, quality, etc.

  • Float4() causes "error saving Pixel Bender Byte Code file" error when exporting for flash player

    Simple test
    <languageVersion : 1.0;>
    kernel untitled
    <   namespace : "Your Namespace";
        vendor : "Your Vendor";
        version : 1;
    >
        input image4 src;
        output pixel4 dst;
        void
        evaluatePixel()
            dst = float4(sampleNearest(src, outCoord()));
    The above code will produce a "error saving Pixel Bender Byte Code file" error when exporting for flash player in Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5.449694.
    "dst = (sampleNearest(src, outCoord()));" works fine. And anything like "float4 a= float4(b);" will give same error.

    Thank you for the error report.  I'll put it into our bug database.  We're bottling things up for the current version.  Gven the workaround, it is unlikely we'll be addressing this bug soon.  Please accept my apologies for the annoyance this will cause.
    In your second example, float4 a = float4(b), does it return an error if b is only a float4 or regardless of what b is?  If b is a scalar float, for example, is the conversion performed correctly? If so, this could be an error that only crops up when using constructor/conversion syntax when the thing being converted is already the correct type.
    Thanks,
    Chuck.

  • Best export for flash video

    I have completed an edit of a 7 minute teaser for a feature film and need to export it to be displayed online in a flash player. The footage is HD 1080i, 29.97fps and edited in the Animation coded. My experience with best exports for flash conversion is very limited so please bare with with.
    1) Is it possible to export directly from FCP to a flash file? If yes, would that be a good idea, or should I use third party softwares for better results?
    2) Which third party softwares are recommended for flash conversion? And what export compression should I use in FCP for best flash conversion results?
    3) Any other tips and tricks to get the best quality for flash video display?
    Any help would obviously be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    When I have quality HD video that I want to export for flash, I compress it with h.264 codec. Then, with the new version of Flash, you can swap out the .mp4 extension for .f4v and your good to go in Flash. Quality looks pretty good at a fraction of the file size.

  • Exporting slideshow to .mov file using Ken Burns looks low res?

    I've created a slide show using the Ken Burns effect exclusively, and after I export as an .mov file and pull that into iDVD (or watching it in QT player) the moves look like a very low resolution image was used instead of the high res files that I know are there. Any ideas of how to fix this? or is this just the way iPhoto handles the files when using Ken Burns FX.

    Have your tried the procedure that seems to solve a variety of problems for the iLife applications? Quit iPhoto and delete your iPhoto preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.iphoto.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iPhoto; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
    Ken Burns also...images do not fit to screen any more.
    I am not aware of an option to make the Ken burns effect "fit to screen". This effect is applied in a somewhat random fashion, so what you see on one playing of your slideshow can be slightly different when viewed again. You can avoid undesirable changes, like cutting off the tops of heads, by manually applying the KB effect to photos in question. The control is at the bottom of the window when in the slideshow mode. When you are satisfied with the way the slideshow looks, export it as a QuickTime movie.
    I hope this helps.

    Ive imported a flash movie file into authorware but the sound

    If you click the 'Options' button on the Property panel for

    in the

    When published as QT, what does 'had a problem with the

    Hi
    Did You ever use - iPhoto ?
    Did You may be direct iPhoto to a different Photo Library
    As iMovie tries to find the appropriate photo library - it can get lost if iPhoto direct it into a Library on a not connected external hard disk or to a strange location - And iMovie HANGS.
    Do - When no other program is running that might interfere
    • Start iPhoto - BUT NOW KEEP alt-key (option key) DOWN during the full Start-Up process
    • Now iPhoto let's You select Photo Library
    • Select the one in Your Account / Home folder / Pictures ! !
    • Then iPhoto should start up OK
    • Now Quit iPhoto
    • START iMovie
    Does it still hangs - then I would suspect - iMovie Pref. file
    If it Run's OK - Then HURRAY !

  • Tag program for video/movie files?

    Hey, gang, I'm looking for a program I can use to mass edit the tags for my movie files so I can easily move all of them into a TV show. iTunes allows me to do this one at a time, but this is extremely tedious -- what I need to be able to do is select 20 or 30 "movies", mark them as TV shows and enter the show name for them all just as if I were doing this for a series of songs in an album.
    In the old days I used to use Dr. Tag (and I think a program called Tag and Rename) to help manage my audio files, but I have no idea where to turn to for this kind of video file management, if there is even such a beast. A Google of the web didn't reveal anything useful but if anyone knows I figured you experts here would.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I wrote a program to mass change the video type of selected tracks.
    Go to my home page:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/
    and click the Download button.
    Unzip to a folder and run "teridonsitunesscripts.exe". A new window will appear.
    Switch to iTunes and select the movies you want to change. Switch back to "Teridon's iTunes Scripts" window and select the last one -- "itunes_vidkind", then click "Run Selected Script". It'll ask you what video type you want to change them to (Movie, MusicVideo, or TVShow).
    Repeat the process (select tracks, run itunes_vidkind) as needed.
    If my program helps you, please consider a Paypal donation via the link in the program window, or via the link at my home page.

    Hi
    Is there a way to make Windows Explorer create thumbnails for QuickTime MOV files? I'm really desperate to get a solution. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You should have known this would be caused by some registry entries were modified incorrectly by some software, especially third party codec pack.
    I would suggest you import the a good known copy from a good display windows 7 computer, just import such this content:
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov]
    @="WMP11.AssocFile.MOV"
    "Content Type"="video/quicktime"
    "PerceivedType"="video"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\OpenWithProgids]

    "AppXhjhjmgrfm2d7rd026az898dy2p1pcsyt"=hex(0):
    "WMP11.AssocFile.MOV"=hex(0):
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\PersistentHandler]
    @="{098f2470-bae0-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\ShellEx]

  • Exporting for Flash Display - Some Tips

    There have been many questions on Exporting for Flash playback on the Web. This Adobe ARTICLE might provide some useful tips, and help in the understanding of the various format.
    Hope that this helps,
    Hunt

    Because different Adobe NLE's (Non Linear Editors) handle Flash material differently, and some not much at all, one likely source of additional Flash handling would be Moyea. They have several Flash programs, and even offer a Flash Importer for PrPro (prior to CS4). Unfortunately, they do not yet have a plug-in Importer for PrE.

  • Title for Flash movie (Swf file)

    Hi
    I want to add any title for my flash movie, As we can add any
    title in HTML page with "title tag".
    Usually the file name of flash file show as title like
    "abc.swf"
    but i want here another title like " Welcome to my xyz"
    anything else....
    Can anybody help me getting its solution....
    Alok

    Wishing to do the same thing, I've explored this with Macromedia. It appears to be a licensing problem for the Flash 5 engine. Macromedia wants a commitment of several thousand dollars (like close to 6 figures) to license the engine for an application. That's for a single applicaiton, and not a generic toolkit like JMF. I assume Sun found the same thing and balked, understandably.

  • Exporting from flash movies without quicktime

    I used to convert flash movies in dv (for further editing in imovie or Final cut express). With the latest QT update this is not possible anymore (and a lot of my projects are unreadable...). Anyone knows an (possibly inexpensive) way to convert a .swf file in dv or something else digestible from QT or visualhub? (visualhub relyes on QT support for converting flash movies, so this is not doable...)
    Thanks in advance.

    Buy a cheap external HD and install an older version of Tiger (and QuickTime) on it. Use http://perian.org and QuickTime Pro to make the conversion.
    QuickTime 7.3.1 no longer supports Flash media formats.

  • Back button & Replay button for Flash movie on website

    Three questions all related:
    1. I need to add a "Back"  and a "Replay" button to a Flash movie that plays full screen when the link is clicked on a website. I have created the two buttons and placed them on the stage. I've given them the names back_btn and play_btn. I've tried several scripts from postings on the Forum for the replay button but all of them come up with errors such as, "1119: Access of possibly undefined property onRelease through a reference with static type flash.display:SimpleButton" when I use this script:
    stop();
    play_btn.onRelease = function()
    play();
    I also tried this script:
    stop();
    play_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playMovie);
    function playMovie(event)
    play();
    It didn't report any errors, but it didn't work.
    2. I saw a posting that said one needs to name the movie clip and reference it in the script. Would this be the file name of the movie after it is exported? I am unclear on this.
    3. For the "Back" button, would I include the whole url to get the viewers back to the previous page or is there a shortcut way to get them back there?
    If you can help, please provide detailed script as I do not know Action script.
    Thank you,
    Marilyn

    Hi, Ned:
    I have a presentation completed that is already up  on a website and now I need the "Back" button and "Replay" button, so whether I'm ready or not, I have to find a solution. I know I'm missing some important step. I have Lynda.com and I can usually figure out what's wrong with the lessons on there, but this one has me stumped.
    I did try the code change you sent and I was unable to get the movie to replay. I'm attaching two screen shots so you'll see that I did have the button instance named properly and the Action Script correctly written. You can "Ctrl" "Scroll" to enlarge the images on your screen.
