  • Flip camera inputs fine, exports freeze

Flip Camera files input fine to iMovie HD 6, and they play fine. Trouble is, the exports freeze a few minutes into the movie.

I hope this info will help you ,
a weak ago i needed to cut with multicam 2 camera footage format AVCHD , each footage was 1 HOUR Long  (1080@50i).
when both footage was on my raid 0, multicam didnt run smooth.
i plug to my computer addtional external hard disk (eSATA) and paste one of the camera to it.
the multicam was running much more smoother , meanning (i just think so ) when each camera is on seperated phiysical  HD ,multicam can run faster.
notice that avchd format is quiet complex for any NLE compare to XDCAM or HDV .

  • Export freezes in the same spot

I'm trying to export a video using Adobe CC. It's the same file I've exported a dozen times before, but for some reason the export-and my whole computer-freezes right at 40% every time. I'm exporting in H.264 at the HD 720P 23.976 frames per second preset, as I just need to export a smaller file to upload as a submission screener. I tested the same settings on another sequence in the same file, and it worked fine. The only thing that changed was I cancelled and then reactivated my subscription (after trying to export and realizing it had run out, though it behaved the same). All media is linked, registers as green on the timeline. I re-rendered everything to make sure.

Try deleting all the render files and exporting without them.

  • EXPORT FREEZES AT 79%

I'm trying to export a short sequence of 10 seconds(ish) so that I can apply an old film filter that I have in QTP and then re-import. When I export, the complete % only gets to 79% then doesn't do any more. Anyone know why this is / bug / can help.
    Many Thanks
    Joe Hall

Hi thanks for that - haven't tried yet. No I don't get an error messsage it just freezes. I'm hoping I can get this resolved as I really need to use that filter for other things too and I can't afford to buy expensive third-party filters (even though I would love to).
Will let you know what happens.

  • Slideshow Export Freeze

    Hello,
I have made a slideshow in iPhoto. I have tried sending it to iDVD and simply exporting it, however, both methods have resulted in my computer freezing. The screen locks and I have to turn the power off on my iMac.
I have successfully made slideshows in the past. This show has about 150 pictures with ken burns effects, transitions, and music. I have tried removing music and it freezes. I have repaired all of my permissions and used Onyx to run maintenance scripts. I have even moved my entire photo library to an external hard drive to gain some hard drive space.
My computer runs fine doing daily tasks. The only time it freezes is when I try to export or send my slideshow to iDVD.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I should have suggested this first but try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, and try again. A damaged pref file can cause a number of seemingly unrelated problems.
Have you tried selecting different photos in the library and running the same process as a test? It might be a damaged file that's causing the problems.
Next create a new library, import a few files and try the same process. If it works, your library is damaged. If it doesn't then a reinstall of iPhoto might be warranted. If you do try a reinstall of iPhoto you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If your library is damaged try rebuilding it, after making a temp backup copy of the iPhoto Library folder, by launching iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and following the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options. Another way to rebuild the library which often succeeds when the normal way doesn't work is to use iPhoto Library Manager. Here's how:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: It can take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. One user reported that with a library of about 5,000 images it took about 12 hours so plan ahead.

  • LR 5.3 on Win 8.1 export freezes

Win 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
    Makes LR totally useless.

I have tried all of that. I can move the window up and see the bottom border - no export buttons. Also when I try to resize the window (maybe it can't be resized) the little double arrow brackets the top border and then moving it a little closes the export screen completely and freezes LR. The export window is not there hiding somewhere, it has closed.
See attached images  004,005,006  I was taking a LR class, instructor said he's not seen this bug before.
    Thanks for your reply

  • IMovie Export freeze on IOS Iphone5 any answers?

Used imovie once before and worked fine including on export. This second 6second clip will not export. I select lowest quality upon export, export process begins but doesn't seem to start. It just freezes on "Exporting".

Same here. Have exported a handful of movies before..faced this issue for the first time a few days ago. What footage are you trying to edit and export? (E.g. Shot with camera app, other social media apps like Snapchat, Vine, Instagram?)
    I did some troubleshooting..
I was putting together all saved videos from Snapchat.. no luck. Export screen comes up, but progress bar doesn't move.
Mixed some footage in there shot with actual iPhone camera app.. no luck.
Removed all Snapchat footage.. it worked straight away.
BUT ... it would make sense if I didn't just compile a bunch of Snapchat vids a few weeks ago and export them just fine?
So it's something to do with the actual footage I assume?

  • Facebook Export freezes Aperture

Every time I try to export to Facebook Aperture freezes any ideas. PS No thumbnails appear in the export window.
I am now running on Snow Leopard

    Philip,
I'm right there with ya. I'm experiencing the same thing. I emailed Sean Farley and received the following response:
    +"I have stopped working on+
+0.5.2 and have rebuilt it from scratch. Although it is not quite ready+
+for release at the moment because I have been busy with my PhD.+
+The core difference between the two (besides the fact that I wrote the+
+Aperture one and not the iPhoto one) is the way that Aperture loads+
+its plugins. Basically, the fact that Aperture puts each plugin in its+
+own NSRunLoop is good but unfortunately, NSURL was not design for that+
+(ask Apple as to why, I have no idea). This makes it a little spotty+
+for maintaining a url connection. This is drastically improved in the+
+new version, though. In comparison, the export plugin for Flickr has+
+its own NSURL that Fraser wrote himself. This is definitely not going+
+to be in the Facebook exporter unless he opens up that code.+
+Sorry for the late reply and the sorta bad news :-/+
    Sean"
Not sure when the new version is coming out. Let me know if you find any other workarounds.

  • Dynamic LinK to After Effect makes export freeze

    Hi everyone,
I had previously posted on the Encore Forum, because the problem first appreared when trying to DL a sequence from Premiere to Encore: it took almost 6 hours for 15 mins of video, then it froze. Then I tried to export directly from Premiere, it took less (3 hours or so) but it froze nonetheless.
I found out that it froze exactly in the same spot, that is when it came to a DL from AE. It was a 30 secs composition in which I had simply stabilized a clip, no other effects were there. So, no matter what, when I try to expot the sequence, it blocks when it comes to the DL.
The problem is also that neither Encore nor Premiere showed me anything about it before exporting; both regularly started encoding, only to freeze at a certain point. In this way, I can't and I won't be able to realize when something like that will happen again. I mean: How could I know when a DL will create problem when exporting? The fact is that other DL worked fine.
Does anyone know if there is something I should check in order to have DLs work reguraly?
    Thank You

Yes Jim, you're absolutely right - every 'common rule' is arbitrary, and it's up to everybody do decide what suits better in one's particular circumstances or a certain workflow!
Regard to 'several minutes' as a guideline, it was just a free quotation of Rick's comment in my thread about dealing with 'heavy' AE comps...

  • QuickTime Pro Export freezes up.  Help!!

I'm trying to export a couple full resolution .mov's to web compatible versions (half-resolution, H.264 Compression, Fast Start). I just upgraded to Pro yesterday (and have QT 7.1.3), and have had several problems...
The movies play back fine when I open them in QTPro. Following the directions in the User's Guide, I go to File>Export. When I click on Options, the Movie Settings dialogue appears. When I move my cursor over the buttons, they light up (like usual in Windows), but if I click them, nothing happens. I cannot toggle the check boxes, and the only thing I can do is change the selection in the "Prepared for Internet Streaming" section. At this point, even clicking "OK" or "Cancel" at the bottom does nothing, and I have to CtrlAltDelete to close QT.
I have also tried skipping the Options button and simply using one of the presets offered by QT in the Save Exported File As dialogue box. I set it to Streaming-Medium and hit Save. At this point the Export Progress box pops up but remains in the "Initializing" state indefinitely until I close it, because it displays no sort of progress in the export whatsoever.
Any idea why QT is freezing up and not allowing me to export?

    Hello again
problem is solved. Nothing to do with the MPEG-2 component download. I had moved the QT launch icon from Applications folder to a Video Apps sub folder. All videos could be read OK, but export failed. I moved the QT launch icon back to Applications folder and everything is fine now.

  • HELP! Why does FCP Crash when Batch Exporting Freeze Frames?

I have been Batch Exporting a lot of freeze frames recently but just last week FCP just started to crash when I tried exporting. It will let me export one single freeze frame but no batches. Also, when I open FCP now some of the freeze frames I have made looks what appear to be like green digital hits on them. I thought it was a space issue but I have plenty of room and I've taken out my FCP Preferences and nothing seems like it's working. I have final cut version 5.1.4 and the Error Message Reads: "The Batch Export failed for some items. Please review the status column to identify which items had errors." When I check the status it says "File Error: Unknown Folder" which I don't understand at all.
    Any ideas?
    Power Mac 10.4.10
    Power Mac

Well it seems like it might be an OS or hardware problem rather than a FCP problem, however...
Have you installed Diskwarrior on your startup drive? If not, do it, and try launching it from your startup drive and then try running it on all other drives.
Describe your hardware configuration (you should really post all your system specs in your profile here). Can you change the batch export destination to another drive? Describe what your source material is, your sequence settings and the export settings. You might try changing your export settings.
This is not normal behavior and I'm sure we can solve this.

  • Captivate 6 MP4 export freezes AFTER patch files from Support...

    Hello,
I am trying to publish a MP4, progressive file. When 6 first came out it would not export at all. Last Friday I had support help me with the latest patch files that were supposed to solve this. While I can publish the multi-slide video now it freezes a couple seconds in. The audio carries on without an issue and the slide times are holding. I am using an f4v file -> into Captivate 6 -> timing the slides to the video -> Publishing an MP4, progressive file. I have used 5.5 for this work flow without any problems. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Aaron Kochman
    [email protected]

    Vikram,
There is no message at all. Loading, error, connection failure, etc. The video portion just freezes. I spent a couple hours with a Cp expert on the support chat and he gave up and said to go back to Cp 5.5. I only have one copy of 5.5 due to 6 coming out. I have 6 copies of a program that doesn't work. Any further advice would be great. Here is my work flow:
Import Power Point slides -> Set timing of the slides to match the video -> Import a F4V file and spread it over multiple slides -> make sure project length matches video length -> publish from Cp 6 under MP4 settings. Once it finishes the Publish it opens the video and then the slides play fine but the video freezes a couple seconds in. The kicker is that the audio plays fine. If I click in the play bar at any point it will give a freeze frame of the video, the audio will play from that point, but it will not show the video. I hope that makes sense...
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • LR 1.1 - Catalog export freezing

Has anybody else been experiencing problems exporting their catalogs? I am on XP with SP2 and have tried several times to export a catalog on my laptop. I am not including the 'negative' originals, just the 'available previews'. The process all seems to go okay, the catalog file is created but then at 65% done - it always happens at 65% - when the progress meter is saying 'copying previews' it freezes. I've waited ages to see if it is just taking a long time to copy the previews, but there are only around 1000 of them, so its not a huge amount of data. Any ideas on what may be going wrong would be really helpful, thanks.
    Steve

    Hi Brian,
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I have done some more investigations based on your questions and this is what is happening...
    >1) Can you repeat this problem with any catalog export or just a particular set of images? If the latter, please let me know as much as you can about the images. i.e. Are they local, remote?
It can be repeated with any set of images where the original image is not on the local hard drive. I ran an 'export as catalog' last night on 4 images on the local hard drive and that worked okay. The images which are on a remote hard drive are .cr2 Canon Raw files.
    >2) How long in minutes is "ages"?
I've just tried it again and gave up after waiting 40 minutes. What appears to happen is that the process starts and then it goes to copying previews. There is activity showing on both the laptop local hard drive and the remote hard drive where the images live and where I am writing the export catalog to. This all seems normal but after a short time the progress indicator in LR suddenly jumps to 65% and then freezes. There is still activity on the local drive but nothing on the remote hard drive.
    >3) What do you do when it freezes? Do you quit LR? Do you cancel your export? What happens in either case?
I have tried both ways. When I cancel the export with the little 'x' on the progress meter, it swaps to 'cancelling export' but then that freezes and never swaps back to the ID plate. LR still seems to be functioning okay in other areas though, so it is not a complete program freeze, but eventually I do get a Microsoft error message pop up, saying that LR has encountered a problem and has to close.
    >4) If you look in your export folder, do you see a folder called catalog name Previews.lrdata? If so, are there subfolders and do you see images being added to the folders?
Yes, there is a Previews.lrdata folder with some sub folders which contain some images but once the process has got to 65% and freezes, no more images are being added to the sub folders. There is no .lrcat file in the export folder.
Hope that helps a little, let me know if you need any more info. Really appreciate your help, I am in the middle of a huge download from a month in the US and on a deadline to turn the images around so waiting for all the previews to rebuild on the desktop is a real hassle.
Is it something to do with the original images being on a remote drive do you think?
    Best regards,
    Steve

  • Export Freeze in Premiere Pro CC

    Good Day everyone.
We have 4 Late 2012 iMacs:
    3.7 i7 Processor
    32 GB Ram
    1TB Fusion Drive
    3 of them have GTX 680MX 2GB GPU's and 1 has a GTX 675MX 1GB GPU.
All of these machines are plugged directly into our 28TB Editshare server.
Here's the fun part. ALL of these machines can export any codec in any wrapper to the local drive. No mess. However whenever we try to export a film using a QT Pro Apps codec (Pro Res (Any Flavour), Apple intermediate Codec & Animation) the export will hang. we get no error messages or codes the export just simply stops and Premiere will just sit there at the same percentage until we force quit the application. There is no consistency to when the export will hang. it has hung at 4% 7% 12% 33% 67% 72% and 99% the sequence is completely clean, no effects or filters or adjustment layers are present. just pure footage and audio. (the footage is .MTS however the hang also happens when using footage transcoded to ProRes) Once the hang happens i can still access the local hard drive and applications. I cannot access any files stored on either an SMB or AFP mounted Editshare Project Space. and if i try to reopen premiere it hangs when trying to load the quicktime bundle. I am forced to hard reboot the machine for it to be fully operational once again.
This exact same hang happens also when using Adobe Media Encoder. Though interestingly i can export the same sequence from FCP 7 to Editshare as any flavour of Prores, AIC or Animation. I can also transcode a prores to WMV (using Bigasoft and encoding straight to editshare) i can also use MPEG Streamclip to transcode to a Prores going straight to Editshare.
Just to add a spanner into the works i can export the same sequence from Premiere Pro 7.2.1 (4) as any flavour of ProRes, directly to Editshare on an older 2009 Mac Pro, 2010 iMac and a mid 2011 iMac. it is only the Late 2012 iMacs which hang when exporting to Editshare using one of the above codecs.
I have been in contact with Editshare who have checked the network logs and all seems fine, they have ran all the diagnostic and replair scripts and checks they can and the system seems healthy and happy. Just as a side note it seems no one i have spoken to at Editshare has ever seen this issue before.
does anyone have any idea what is going on or has anyone ever seen this issue before? any help is greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    P.S Sorry about the essay

I have to applaud your thoroughness in testing and detail in writing this up.
Unfortunately I may not be of much assistance. I have to assume (by your thoroughness) that all machines are running the same OS version. If that is the case, you certainly seem to have isolated the problem to either the 2012 Mac hardware (iMac or Ethernet chipset) or the specific Ethernet drivers for that model.
Chances are, since PPro 7.2.1 works in the environment on other Macs, it is actually a Mac/Editshare problem.

  • PDF export freezing

    Hello
We have a VB6 application using RDC in CR XIR2. This application is exporting typically 10-100 invoices as a PDF. Occasionally this export is hanging and control does not return from the RDC application back to the application.
Recently when I studied this problem at customer I noticed that this user had 75000 temporary files in the Local Settings\temp folder. 99% of those were Crystal Reports temporary files.
I saw elsewhere in the web that these old temporary files could be an issue when printing reports with Crystal Reports but is this true?
Our report has 3 subreports. I have used tracing and noticed that somehow based on the log printing is "interleaved", ie it looks like there are two printings going at the same time.
Any idea what might be wrong?
Here is the part of the log where things start to go wrong. I have compared the log from the similar printings and differenced are marked with "ODD -->" in the log file. It seems that runtime is starting something else while previous things are still going on.

First place I'd start is ensuring that you have the latest Service Pack:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
    The equivalent msm is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009381702008E/crxir2sp4_rdc_mm.zip
Next. I have used the code below to export a number of reports, with no issues. This code has been left to process a report over the weekend, creating thousands of export files. The only timne it failed, was when the system ran out of hard drive space.
    Private Sub Command1_Click()
      Dim fileName As String
      Dim i As Integer
      For i = 1 To 2000
         Dim crReport As CRAXDRT.Report
         Set crReport = crAppl.OpenReport(App.Path & "\group.rpt", crOpenReportByTempCopy)
         crReport.ExportOptions.DestinationType = crEDTDiskFile
         crReport.ExportOptions.FormatType = crEFTText
         fileName = App.Path & "\group" & i & ".txt"
         List1.AddItem "Export " & i & " " + fileName
         crReport.ExportOptions.DiskFileName = fileName
         crReport.Export False
         While crReport.PrintingStatus.Progress = crPrintingInProgress
           DoEvents
         Wend
         Set crReport = Nothing
      Next i
    End Sub
See how that compares to the code you are using.
