  • Very strange : Export from Organizer extremely slow

Today I came something strange while "exporting Files as New File" from the Organizer. I decided to report it, because the observation may point to a potential improvement.
In the Organizer (PSE V7), I went through File--> "Export as New File..." to export approximately 350 Jpeg Photo-Files (around 3 MBeach) to a USB Stick. I was knowing that writing to my USB stick was slow. But the Export Process was much slower than expected. It was ***extremely*** slow and after more than 1/2 hour, only 16% of the Photos had been exported. Also my PC (Windows XP Professional with SP3) was extremely slow in responding.
I therefore diced to kill the PSE Organizer.
Then I decided to 1) export the 350 Jpeg Files first to a Folder on my ***internal*** disk and then 2) to copy with Windows Explorer that Folder to my USB Stick. This was much, much more rapid.
From this experience, I get the impression that the "Export as new File" logic of PSE is doing something very vstrange and very inefficient ...something that could get probably improved.

I may not be having a snow leopard problem at all.
Going back to an old project in 1080i of an 8 minute length. the estimated time to render is about 50 minutes it says @20% of the way thru. Thats about 6x real time.
Maybe thats what I should expect. I was hoping for a significant speed increase in rendering times with the new OS. What is teh factor averaging for other people ?
I am rendering down to 720p multi pass 2320 kbit rate .MP4 in h.264
Maybe I have a settings problem in project properties in my other project.
I also got inspired and moved the render folders to a separate disk from the source files and put the caches on a 3rd drive. my I/O readings now are at 60 reads/sec.
Thanks for helping me work this issue out with you guys. Will keep you posted.

  • Export from Organizer with watermark?

Is there any way to include a watermark in files that I export from the PSE 11 Organizer or is Process Multiple Files in the Editor the only way to add a watermark? Thanks.

You can watermark the files in Editor using a brush. This is not a batch process.
First you have to make the brush with the information to be applied. Here is a tutorial:
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshopelements/ht/psewatermark.htm
Once you have the brush, you apply the information with a mouse click. Of course, the brush size
can be altered, the color of choisce can be selected, and you can apply in a suitable location on the picture. It's a good way to do it.
I suggest that if you want to have files both with, and without, the watermark, that you save as, and name them appropriately. You could save them in an album in organizer for export.

  • Skips Camera Raw when opening image from PSE organizer to CS

I have PSE7 from before and recently purchased CS6. I want to keep using PSE as an organizer and edit in CS6. When opening a raw file (CR2) from the organizer to CS using Ctrl-h the image opens directly in CS without opening in Camera Raw first. If I open an image directly in CS it goes through CR first. How do I send the image directly to Camera Raw and then to CS from the organizer? I am running on Windows 7 64 bit. The Camera Raw for PSE7 if 5.6 and 7.3 for CS6. Tried posting under photoshop (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5006582#5006582), where it was suggested I post in the elements forum.

Unfortunately PSE7 can’t be updated to Camera Raw 7 and this is undoubtedly preventing the file from opening in the CS6 raw dialog. Your best bet is to open from CS6 Bridge by double clicking the thumbnail in Bridge. In any case Elements will create an export copy for external editing with Ctrl+H and you will end up with lots of duplicates and sidecar XMP files stacked in version sets in the Organizer. I think for raw files you will find Bridge much easier. If you finally save as PSD, Tiff or jpeg after you finish editing that version will also be visible in Bridge but you could also import it into Elements e.g. if you wish to add it to an album.

  • Export from Photoshop Elements 6 to Premiere Elements 8

I prepared a slide show with The Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 and produced a DVD which has good but not excellent image quality (I chose File Setting - High 800x600). To improve the DVD image quality I installed the trial version of Premiere Elements 8. I exported the slide show to Premiere Elements 8 and have several problems.1 The image quality of the DVD produced by Premiere Elements 8 is worse than the one produced from The Organizer (Photoshop Elements 6).
2 The titles, transitions and soundtrack does not show in Premiere Elements 8.
3 The slides sequence in Premiere Elements 8 is different then the one in the slide show in The Organizer (Photoshop Elements 6).
At one time a menu popped up asking me if I wanted to convert the Catalogue of V6. I declined because I was afraid that the V6 catalogue may be replaced and I would not be able to go back to it.
    Please help.

    CarlosWA
    Conclusion.
My results are consistent with your problems NOT being associated with Photoshop Elements 6 slideshow being used instead a Photoshop Element 8 slideshow in the slideshow transfer to Premiere Elements 8.
Testing. Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 8.
First I created a slideshow in the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor. It included:
    (a) 19 jpeg photos each with pixel dimensions of 3264 x 2448 (that is not recommended pixel dimensions but was used to stress out the project if possible...these represent grossly oversized photos since the goal is DVD VIDEO with standard frame size of 720 x 480.)
    (b) I used a Wipe transition between each
    (c) I used text within the photos (included in the text was a sequential number so that I could more easily visually follow the sequence of the slideshow after it was transferred to Premiere Elements 8)
    (d) I added two audio clips as soundtrack (the first I placed from beginning to just before the last two photos to pick up on any audio out of sync as well as loss of a whole audio clip)
    (e) I used a pan and zoom effect for photos 1 and 2.
The quality of the preview in the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor was good.
I outputted the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor slideshow, using the Slide Show Edit Output option "Send to Premiere Elements". When I did, Premiere Elements 8 opened, I set the project preset, and it accepted the slideshow. In the Project Media area were
    (a) a folder containing all the individual components of the slideshow
    (b) the slideshow file in a video (grouped) form
The video (grouped) form had automatically been placed on the Timeline as well.
Everything transferred correctly. No problems. SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW.
I even burned the Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO standard from Premiere Elements 8, and the DVD-VIDEO standard played back well on my 19 in LCD Widescreen TV.
Testing. Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8.
I repeated the above with Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8 and the same slideshow and obtained the same results.
IMPORTANT. Whether it was Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 8 or Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8, I had to render the Timeline in the Edit Mode in order to get the best possible preview so that I could determine/confirm what was on the Premiere Elements Timeline. And, rendering the Timeline as described with all those oversized photos took several hours.
This is what I need to know:
    1. How many photos did you use in the slideshow in the Photoshop Elements 6 or 8 slideshow, and what were their pixel dimensions? If you do not know, you can check it out in Photoshop Elements Full Editor/Image Menu/Resize/Image Size dialog or just place your mouse course over the file on the hard drive and note the "dimensions".
    2. If you transfer your slideshow from Photoshop Elements 6 or 8 to Premiere Elements 8, use the Output option "Send to Premiere Elements", and get your slideshow on the Premiere Elements 8 Timeline, do you render that Timeline by pressing the Enter Key of the computer main keyboard so that the red line over the Timeline turns green when the process is complete?
    3. Is your computer optimized, defragmented, cleaned up, scratch files directed to an external hard drive (NTFS formatted), etc. If you are using an external hard drive for the scratch files, is there enough space there for them?
    4. What is your computer operating system and what are its resources, such as, available RAM and free hard drive space. Have you checked your computer's virtual memory set up?
Stay the course on this to rule in or out the above non wmv approach to getting your slideshow as a DVD-VIDEO. But if you do decide to detour over to Save As File Movie .wmv and you are dealing with oversized photos and an offending component in the slideshow, the the writing of the .wmv becomes a possible focus point for errors. And, if the .wmv is destined for DVD-VIDEO, then use the file size (also known as profile) = NTSC DVD (720 x 480).
I suspect that the problem core goes to
    (a) use of oversized photos
    (b) offending component in slideshow
    (c) size of slideshow
    (d) computer resources
    (e) combination of all or any one of above
I will continue to watch for your progress.

  • Black images in PSE9 organizer?

I recently scanned some old B&W prints to TIFF files but they only show as black images in PSE9 organizer although they appear normally in the editor. Files that don't appear are all less than 1Mb file size. Any suggestions about how to have these images appear properly in the organizer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Here are the release notes for PSE9:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/861/cpsid_86152.html#main_Photoshop Elements Organizer notes
    Specifically, this section (emphasis added):
    Organizer thumbnails:
If an image has been rotated in an application other than Photoshop Elements 9, update the thumbnail before printing or using the image in a creation to ensure that the images appear properly rotated. To update the thumbnail, select the image(s) and choose Update Thumbnail or Update Thumbnail for Selected Items in the Edit menu.
Some TIFF files and files that use uncommon color profiles may appear black or as generic thumbnails in the Organizer. To fix this, select the file, and choose File Export As New File(s). This will save the file with the supported set of file tags required by the Organizer to show the thumbnails.
Very large files appear with generic thumbnails. For example, panoramas created with Photomerge Panorama return multiple layers, which, when saved, creates very large files. To make thumbnails visible in the Organizer, consider saving panorama files as flattened JPEG images
Files that are not supported in the Organizer look like broken thumbnail icons. You can import these files by saving an album containing a file in an unsupported format, using the Photoshop Elements Editor, or importing files not supported by the Organizer, using Premiere Elements.

  • Favorites exported from Internet Explorer are not available in Bookmarks drop down list as they should.

Favorites exported from Internet Explorer are not available in Bookmarks drop down list as they should. Where can I find them?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export<br />
Import the HTML file in Firefox 3: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks ("Import from another browser" and "Import from file")

  • Exporting from adobe photoshop elements 11 to Revel

Is there a way to connect the photo to a album at time of export from photoshop elements?

    Hello Allan
Yes there is a way to export your images to an album. When you select the image in the Elements 11 organizer select from the file menu "Export to Revel"
Then in the Adobe Revel window after you sign in, you will see an Export To drop down menu, which you can select the album that you wish to upload to. In the screen shot below I have my main libraries and the libraries that are shared to myself. So you have the option to upload to shared libraries too. ( The shared libraries are below the separator line)
Let me know if  you have any other questions regarding exporting your images to Revel
    Thanks

  • Exporting from After Effects to Final Cut Pro

    Hi
Could anybody tell me the best way to export from After Effects, back in to Final Cut Pro? Do I need to get Automatic Duck for this, if so which one?
    Thanks for any help!
    Matt

You need to add your composition to the render cue and then export to the same format and codec that you're using in FCP. Automatic Duck is a great tool for getting your FCP or Motion timelines into After Effects but most of the time I simply select a clip in FCP, export it as a reference movie, bring it into AE for processing, then render a file to use as a replacement in FCP.
Search for After Effects Final Cut Workflow and you'll find some more tips including this one. It isn't bad for organization but it misses the point of using the same codec. All my FCP projects are ProRez HQ or ProREZ 444 so that's my choice. Also, if you use the entire shot, which is not a bad idea, then you can use the replace footage option in FCP which is more efficient than the demoed technique of dragging your rendered shot into the timeline and then trimming if needed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Export from Oracle 9i to be Imported into Oracle 10g on 32bit platform

    Hi,
Currently, I am in the process of performing a Homogenous system copy
due to a domain change in our organization using R3load procedure.
I have taken the export of the existing system which is on Oracle 9i.
Initially, I was planning on setting up the new system on Oracle 9i,
now that Oracle 9i is out of support, I would have to go with Oracle
    10g.
I found a note on this topic, SAP Note: 932722, however, this note
explicitly talks about database specific procedure of system copy and
also this note is for 64 bit platform.
Can you point me towards a Note or documentation which can be used as
reference for importing an Oracle 9i export into Oracle 10g on 32bit
    platform(System copy procedure is R3load)?
    OS- Windows 2003 32bit, ECC 5.0
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

    Hi Gagan,
    Thanks for your response,
As per your suggestion, I looked at the System Copy guide for Heterogeneous System Copy,
On service.sap.com/osdbmigration under FAQ's this is what I found,
I plan to copy my SAP system to a new hardware with the same OS and DB products but higher release levels. Is this a migration or a homogeneous system copy?
A change of the version of the operation system and/or the database system is not relevant in the context of a migration or a homogeneous system copy. If you don't change the product, but only the release level it is a homogeneous system copy. If you change OS and/or DB, it is a migration.
The system copy guide, doesn't explicitly talk about an export from Oracle 9i imported into Oracle 10g.
Can you point me to a guide or Note?
    Regards,
    Vishnu

  • QtNetwork4.dll missing so PSE9 Organizer won't start

I downloaded a trial copy of Photoshop CS5, which worked fine. However, I decided I was happy with PSE. Unfortunately, when I tried to open PSE 9's Organizer I got the message "Program can't start because QtNetwork4.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." First thing I did was uninstall CS5, but the missing message still appears when I try to open the Organizer. I'm not real keen on uninstalling and reinstalling PSE 9, but I'll do it if necessary. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can replace QtNework4.dii without a reinstall? Many thanks.

I don't know if anyone cares (and why would one if one is not experiencing the same problem?), but what I did to solve the problem was go to a friend who also has PSE 9 on his computer and copy the QtNetwork4.dll file, which is buried in C://Program://Adobe://PSE9 Organizer. I then installed the file on my computer in the same place and Organizer opened again. Et voila!

  • PSE9 Organizer will not open after deleting LTR3

After deleting my registered LTR3 today and am  now unable to open the previously installed and registered PSE9 Organizer program. PSE9 does open to the desktop "Welcome to PSE9" page. The EDIT program will open, the ORGANIZER will not. Howerer, the Organizer does appear in the lower taskbar and will open to a thumbnail but not to an open program for use. Help anyone?
    Thanx, Stv.

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
    The Editor's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    The Organizer's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

  • PSE9 organizer wont start

My PSE9 organizer wont start. When I select organizer from the welcome screen it immediately goes back to the desktop.
I'm running Vista Home premium SP2. The product was working OK until about a week ago but now wont open.
I have renamed the PSA file and the Status.dat file but no help
I have tried to get to catalog manager by CTRL-Shift on selecting organizer from the welcome screen but it just goes back to the desktop.
The Editor appears to work but I can't access Organizer from there either--nothing happens.
    Any ideas for me???
    Thanks

When I go to C>program files>Adobe>photoshop elements 9.0 I can find an .exe file for editor but not for organizer
    where would it be located?
When I hit Ctrl-Alt-del and then click organizer from the welcome screen it just goes back to my desktop
anything else to try--I'm getting a bit frustrated
edit--I did find the organizer.exe file and made a shortcut on the desktop. The program still wont open with that either
