Export iCal

Can I export iCal to a Word processing document like Word or Appleworks or Pages? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd be interested in this - so far I have thought of using grabber & cutting & pasting from .Mac, but neither are satisfactory really.

Why can't I export an iCal Archive to iDisk?
Please try this:
iCal > File > Export > iCal Archive and select iDisk as a destination.
Such an export attempt just hangs for me in Snow Leopard and Lion.
The same type of export works with Address Book:
Address Book > File > Export > Address Book Archive then select iDisk as a target. This works.
Can anyone please explain why this doesn't work for iCal?

Well, since I use Earthlink through Time Warner, I am running on similar circuits. Do not have another option. That may be part of the problem.
Apple's interface is another. I consider it to be uninformative. The window appearing causes it to seem that the file transfer took place quickly however if you look more closely and think about it, the transfer rate for the display is too great to be true.
Oh, I wish I had a T-1 line but....
Part of the problem may be that my internet connection is through Airport. An Airport network is not that fast.
After a long period of frustration in transferring files between my computer and that of my wife using Airport, I decided to heck with it and connected us and our printer through an ethernet Gigabit LAN. The speed is great!!
One of these days I will get around to drilling holes in the wall to run the cables through closets, etc., rather than along the hall.

Export ical as .txt

I have a sidekick ID and a macbook with ical. I need to generate a .txt file based on my ical calendar in order to import it into my calendar on my sidekick. Would anbody happen to know how to export ical calendars as a .txt file? And if not, any alternative to getting m calendar on my sidekick

I want to export iCal to Google Calendar on a PC

I've searched a bunch of forums but none of the instructions match. They all say click on the calendar you want to export, then click file, export etc etc
The problem is that on a PC, there are no file/export options. All I have are calendars on the left and I can click a button the "share" the calendar.
So anyone know how to export iCal to Google calendar on a PC? Thanks.

Found it. FYI, you have to "share" the calendar you want to back up or export. Copy and paste the URL given into your browser, but do NOT hit enter. Change the "webcal" at the beginning to "http" then hit enter. It's automatically downloaded to your default location. Then you can import the ICS file directly into Google calendar.

Exporting iCal to MacBook Pro

I have an iMac at home and a MacBook Pro that we use while traveling. When I try to export my calendar data from the iMac to the macBook Pro I get duplicate entries for items that had already been in that calendar. I have tried to restore a backed up file but it won't seem to do that on the other computer. Is Mobile me my only option?

You could try synchronizing each through a third party, such as either a smart phone or a web site, such as Google Calendar...although I'm not sure if there's a problem synchronizing the device or web page with more than one calendar or not.
Or, if you only use iCal on the MBP for traveling, you could abandon iCal and just use Google Calendar synchronized with your iMac and use the web based calendar.

Exporting ical to other PC forums

I wish to export my Ical fixtures list to all members of our club. Unfortunately they don't all use Mac so I need to find a way to use it in all forums. PC Microsoft etc also Phones (Not all users have a mac account) Is there an easy way to do this?

Exporting iCal events in a specific date range

Is this possible? I want to export events from one calendar, but only in a certain date range, to give to another user to import into their iCal calendar...

Try making a rule or a Smart mailbox to delete them.

It's pretty easy as you can just access fields from the iCal database.
If you play with the following, you'll see what I mean. It allows you to pull the data from a given calendar. You can then repurpose that data.

Copy or export ical calender to Pages

Is there a way of copying or exporting an ical calender month so I can print it in a Pages document?

I don't know "Pages" but if it is like MS Word ...
In iCal, go to File/Print and work through the dialogue to get the layout you want. Click continue, which will bring up the printer dialog, and click PDF to save the "print" as a PDF file. This can be dragged into a Word document.

I want to export my iCal calendar to my husband's computer. He manages his calendar with Outlook. Anyone know how to do this?

According to Microsoft's website, Outlook will import .ics files: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/file-types-you-can-import-or-expo rt-HP005243412.aspx
To export your calendars from iCal as .ics, highlight each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time and then go to File > Export > Export. Save the resulting .ics file to a logical location like the desktop and then email the files to your husband.

Anyone know how to export diary events from iCal into Numbers or Excel?
I have a calendar for each of my clients and I would like to export a number of these into a spreadsheet. I then want to create a document as an attachment to a report. Just basic stuff like:
Event Title
Dates [start and end]
Time [start and end]
Location
Notes
I came across a script called iCalToExcel but it does not seem to work with Leopard...

This was released shortly after my post. It integrates with iCal to the extent that you can search for appointments using various criteria (like the name of the calendar) then export the records found into Numbers which is just what I want.

Export iCal to Entourage

I have been using iCal for several months now but am tired of its limitations and have just purchased Entourage 2004 for integtared calendar and email etc.
I can't figure out how to export the whole iCal calandar to Entourage. I manage to do one event at a time by using the EXPORT function, but this would take forever..

Mark, did you ever find a way to do this? I want to do the same thing, with a twist. The twist is, I want to go from Palm Desktop to Entourage calendar, but I think I can get from PD to iCal, its just the part that you want that I am interested in too. Let me know if you have a solution, please.

Export iCal ToDo Items

Hello everyone.
Since there is now a FileMaker-companion named "FMTouch" in the iPhone-AppStore, I wanted to use FileMaker to manage (and finally sync) my ToDos with the iPhone. The only problem: How can I export my ToDos from iCal (to a *.csv-File)?? I tried Bento, but this wannabe database did not export all fields. Any suggestions?

When setting due date of a task in outlook 2007 on exchange 2007 server, dates show up correct in ical and mail. But when changing the due date in ical or mail the date in outlook task list is -1 day off. Reminder dates and times are always correct but due dates change -1 day when altered in ical or mail.
So when i change in Ical - Mail: due date 29-01-2009 shows up in Outlook: due date 28-01-2009.
When i change due date in Outlook to 29-01-2009 it shows up in ical - mail as 29-01-2009 (like it should be).
Its driving me nuts

No, you cannot export to Pages. Even if you open the HTML file exported to a folder, you get different "layers" (background, text, images) on separate pages in Pages.
(Why do you want to edit the content in Pages and not in iWeb?)
To print as document, you could just print it from Safari.
