Export iMovie HD to Gallery

I have made a movie in iMovie HD 6.0.4, exported it to iMovie 08 7.1.4 and then sent it to my gallery page. (This is the only way I know how to get a movie made with HD into my gallery). If I use the "tell a friend" link, no video is visible, but the audio plays. The file is in the gallery page and plays normally if accessed from the gallery page. What is wrong with the "tell a friend link"?
I have used this procedure before with normal results. I'm confused as to why it is now not working properly. Thanks in advance for any help.

wow! excellent recommendation, Barbara!
saw some HiDef content there.. WAY better than that low-bitrate-stuff on YT..
if you can not afford a .mac account or you're afraid of excessive traffic - vimeo seems to be the choice.. have to do some investigations my own.. but VERY promising!!
THANK you!

How to export photos from photo gallery to my iPad

I had no trouble finding the "Export" tools in the "File" menu. They are greyed out when no photo is selected, but they are functional after selecting one or more photos.
I agree that it would be nice to have the "Reveal in Finder" option back, but they probably don't want us mucking about inside the Photos library structure.

  • Unable to Export iMovie project in everyway I have attempted for the past 2 weeks. Please Help! Due date coming up!

I've unable to Export iMovie project in everyway I have attempted for the past 2 weeks.I have a late 2012 iMac with 8gb of RAM and 700 gb of free space on the hard drive. The video I am trying to export is 48 mins long with most of the source footage from a NIkon D3100 and several other cammcorders. I've been exporting with Apple Intermediate codec because that was the only one that has work so far but it only worked once and since then I have had to make changes to the project and now I'm unable to get it to work. For all Quicktime exports in H.264 or AIC (my prefered format for this export since I figured it'd offer the highest quality when I import it into Encore for making a dvd out of it) Which just stops exporting in the last few minutes without explination as to why or it crashes and quits. It either leaves a partial file or nothing at all. When I do "export movie" I get a "not enough memory Heap zone error"
I don't know what to do any help would be greatly appreciated!
By the way I happen to have Adobe CS6 Production Premium but didn't know how to use it as well when starting the project and now really regret not using it because it appears to be 10x more stable and capable of handling all the tasks I want it to do.

Are your event clips in h.264? If so, you can solve this by Right clicking on your Event Name and choose "Optimize Media". You can choose Full for 1080P or Large for 960P according to your preference.
After you have optimized your Event, you should be able to Share with no problem.

-108 mean you are running out of (free) RAM.
Try restarting the computer just prior to sharing. That frees up RAM.

Ok - after much cutting, trial and error and days of work I have never really established a root cause for the -108 error. Nothing I did resolved the issue to the orginal project.
The only work around I have found is to split the Original Project into two.
What I found was that anything around the 60 mins mark and above just failed to render in HD and showed the -108 error.
What worked for me was creating two project files - one around 57mins long - the other a part 2 - around 17 mins long. All using exactly the same source clips, photo's, music and transitions as the orginal.
This now works. I guess having it split in two makes it a little easier to work with as I wont have to keep rendering the first part which does not change but really wish Apple would throw some light on this.
Anyway - I hope all of the above at least proves useful for others.
    Good Luck

  • Exported iMovie audio out of sync by 1-2 secs?

    Hello,
I actually have two questions that are sort of related (both dealing with odd audio glitches in the final exported iMovie):
I just completed piecing together about 30 clips into a 55-minute movie. While I was watching the movie last night with my wife, I noticed that about halfway through something happened to the audio track and it was now about 1-2 seconds ahead of the video track (so, my wife would say something and 1-2 seconds later her lips would move...or you'd hear the car accelerate while the video of the car is standing still, and then the video would show the car accelerating about 1-2 seconds later). Any idea why this happened and how to fix it?
Also, I went through the wave forms of all of the audio and reduced the volume to zero on audio portions that I didn't want in the final video (eg: certain people talking that I didn't want in the video). When I played the individual clip within iMovie, the zero-volume segment was perfectly in sync with the video. However, when I watched the main exported movie (that I mentioned above), the zero-volume section shifted. For instance, say that somebody on the video said the phrase, "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall". And let's say I found that section of audio and muted the words "Humpty Dumpty", but left the volume at normal level for "had a great fall". When I watched the final exported iMovie, the muted "window" (let's call it) shifted and I'd hear just "Humpty Dumpty...............fall"...iMovie somehow shifted the location of the zero-volume section to mute audio that I actually wanted, and allow audio that I didn't.
Any ideas on either/both of these issues?
I was wondering if, since I adjusted certain audio portions of all 30 film clips within the main movie, should I have exported all 38 clips seperately to "lock down" their audio. Then put them all back into iMovie and created the master movie from there. Would that make a difference?
    Thanks,
    Justin
    P.S. I'm using iMovie '11 (9.0.4)

I have the same type of problem; same version of iMovie. Got my project done, it was perfect. Uploaded it to YouTube and MobileMe, both have the audio a bit behind the video. Went back to my project, and it is off now, too.
I have no idea how to fix this, but my presentation is due in a few days. Help.

  • Mac Mini crashes when exporting imovie projects

    Hi.
When I try to export imovie projects, my Mac Mini crashes. Not ever, just every two or three times.
My system is 10.6.7 and imovie is 11. Can anyone help me? Thanks, I apologize for my bad English

    Thank you, I'll try!
I hope you're right, because is boring to see out of the blue all the screen getting grey and the window that invites you to reboot, without hope... It happens, for example, after two or three succesful exporting projects, then I reboot and go on for another two or three projects and then again... I'm afraid it's a RAM problem, but I'll try to update system and software.
    Thank you again

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

  • Export iMovie '08 project to QT-how to get best quality?

    Hi,
Attempting to export iMovie '08 project to QT file. What are the best settings? Here's what I've chosen, but it won't let me select anything better than "medium" for quality. Any way around this?
    Compression: Apple Intermediate Codec
    Quality: Medium
    Progressive
    Dims: 720x480 (853x480)

I would like to know the same thing but not for another Mac... just another user. Should be almost the same procedure right?
My iMovie '08 is crashing like crazy! I just want to get the projects into iMovie using a fresh user and hope that fixes it. I can see where copying/moving preferences into the library of the other user (along with duping the projects in the movies folder) might succeed in opening the project in another user. I'm just afraid of moving bad prefs or something.

  • Exporting iMovie

I am wondering what is the best way to export iMovie? I am fairly new to Mac, and from what I can understand, when using either iMovie or Final Cut Express, you need to export using Quicktime, then open in iDVD to burn.
If this is correct, what is the best settings for exporting - Time is not an issue, nor is space. I want high quality (I want to view the video later on a HD TV.) I have recorded in 1080i with a new Sony HD - 1000U camcorder.
    Any help is apprecieated.

    Travman;
I presume you are aware that a DVD cannot record an HD movie?
That being said I have found the quality of the DVD setting makes very little difference in the end product.
iMovie 8 set to >Share > "Export Movie... > Large will make a fairly good quality .m4v file but iDVD will down-sample it to SD quality.
I use iDVD set to Encoding as "Professional Quality" and am quite happy with the results played on my Sony HD TV (still does not compare to HD played through my AppleTV).
I do notice the quality of HD from iMovie 6 is a little better than iMovie 8 with all settings the same when played back on my AppleTV through my Sony TV.

  • Export iMovie to YouTube for iPad

does anyone know how to export imovie to youtube for ipad?  I have tried everything that I found on the web and nothing seems to work.  Thanks!

Since Maverick/iMovie '10 I prefer to do in in two steps because the one-step method (direct upload to YouTube) is not working properly. Exporting the movie (option share as a file) in the highest quality and, second step, upload your movie in YouTube works fine to me.

  • When export imovie 6 file to quicktime it freezes

What causes it to freeze when exporting imovie 6.0.3 files to quicktime?

    Hi
I would open the iMovie HD6 movie project (icon with a Star on it - opens by ctrl-click on it and select Show package/Content)
    Here I find
    • three folders and two documents
    • The folder - Shared Movies - contain two folders (at least) - GarageBand and iDVD
    • iDVD folder contain a QuickTime ref movie   moviename.mov (eg My fantastic movie.mov)
This I open in QuickTime Pro and Export as self-containing in any format I like.
(The QT.mov in iDVD folder is a ref document = very small and containing no movie at all - but able to create one from by Exporting in QuickTime)

  • Exporting iMovie Files

Was wondering if anyone knows about exporting iMovie files to Final Cut Pro. I have two questions:
    1) Is there a way to actually export the sequence of files (i.e. the timeline) so that you can open an iMovie file in FCP and see the same sequence of files that was laid out in iMovie.
    2) I've split clips in iMovie, yet when I import those files into FCP, the split doesn't appear. In other words, the dv file shows up as the single original clip, and not two smaller clips.
    Thanks!

    jhsimon,
I'd use File>Share>QuickTime>Full Quality DV to output your movie.
Then import the resulting file to FinalCut.

  • Can't export iMovie 10.0.1 to Vimeo or anywhere else

Just started using iMovie 10.0.1 and can't export or share a thing. Get rendering error 50 when trying to upload to Vimeo (and this ia a small file too).
Just as a side note, I've been using iMovie for well over 5 yrs but this is the first time I've ever experienced continual problems using an Apple product. I don't know why they took a successful software, changed it and in doing so, ruined it.
So my question to all you smart people out there is how does one export without experiencing rendering error 50???

Let me make sure I understand correctly what you're doing:
I'm assuming you have the latest version of itunes, correct?
When you connect your phone to itunes, do you get any pop ups? If you do, click cancel. Click the button, check for update, is this where you're getting that error message? Are you on a windows pc or a mac? If you're on a windows pc, make sure BEFORE you connect your phone that you disable your anti-virus software, turn off your firewall, disable any malware software & see if that will let you upgrade. On a 3gs, to install any firmware(assuming you're running the latest version of itunes), itunes HAS to contact apple's servers.

  • How do I select my own image as a preview for the exported iMovie file?

    Hi all,
I am having an issue with the preview or startup image of the movie file after I export from iMovie.  I want the image to an image I select for the preview.
This goes for the actual icon image through Mac OSX.
    I am using iMovie 08.
    Any solution would be great!

I use a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card which has HDMI outputs to preview my FCP and Color timelines. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ It is very easy to install in a MAC Pro, mine is a 2009 model. You simply then configure it via the Audio/Video setting in both FCP and Color and in Motion too .. I forgot I use it there too. The card is capable of much more and it is a bit of a waste to use it in the way I do but I find it give very good representation of final output. It can be used to capture directly from many sources and they supply a very good break out lead for that. Did you set the out put in Audio/Video Settings - also on my card there are two HDMI ports one input and the other output .. Does the shuttle have two HDM ports ?
