Export - Import data , important

Hi,
Our systems: BPC 75 SP04, MS version (32 bits DEV server, 64 bits PROD server)
I need help ASAP, finally I managed to "export data from server DEV - import this data to PROD" but there is an issue of corrupted data in my opinion, since only some data shows wrong amounts like $300,589,456,345,200...
Procedure:
1. In DEV server, optimized application and compress database
2. Enter to SQL server manager, right click the current database > tasks >export data
Chose Flat File > chose tlbFac2Budget
3. Obtain txt, save into a shared folder
4. Enter to PROD server, open BPC Excel
Access to shared folder, right click txt and made a copy of it.
Using the copy file and changing the dimension COMPAÑIA to COMPANIA  (since i have to change this parameter)
5. In Excel, data upload > chose txt file as source file and destination file
Run package > Import > Select txt file and Import file (txt) and transformation file (system file : import)
6. Open log and shows success, 210,440 accepted count. (same # shown in SQL rows)
7. Checking different dynamic templates, and some data is not consistent.
8. Opened SQL Server Mgr, pick tblFac2Budget and says "207,449 rows"
9. Full process the application/dimensions but nothing happenned, all "parent members" show a different amount, also base level members.
10. Open DEV server and the data is also corrupted, amounts are nonsense.. for example billions $$
What do you suggest to do?
After importing, is it necessary to process dimensions? Is also necessary to run all the calcs?
Does the import only import base level members?
If this method is generating corrupted data, what other options do I have left?
Thanx in advance.

Export can not create any trouble into source.
If you performed export from Production server into flat file then it is something else which was creating problem with data from production.
You run another proces or another import into production which change the data.
I'm sure 100% an export can not create any problem into source.
When you are using a export method you have to use the same method for import.
In your case you have used for export SSIS package but for import BPC import.
SSIS export dosn't take in consideration account type , BPC import yes.
So this can be another problem why into destination system you have wrong data including base members.
So you have to use standard BPC export and standard BPC import and you will not have any issue.
Or you can use SSIS export but you have to do the same into destination ...(any way this can create problem if you would like to to do merge of data ). Usually you can do this when you have empty the region into destination table.
So I'm not sure what what was causing problems into data for production but I'm not sure not export is the cause.

  • Questions on Subviews and Import/Export in Data Modeler v3 EA1.

I have a few questions about the capabilities of Data Modeler v3 EA1:
    1) Is it possible to rename subviews? Would like more meaningful names then Relational_x - Subview_x.
    2) Is it possible to save documents at subview level?
    3) Is it possible to import/export subsets of data?
    4) Having problems importing Erwin 7 .xml file, is there known problems with this import?
    Judy

    Hi Judy,
    1) To rename a subview just right click on it in the browser tree and select "Properties". In the properties dialog change the name and click OK button.
    2) You can save a subview as new Data Modeler design - from the File menu select Export -> To Data Modeling Design. In the newly opened dialog select the subview you want to export and click OK button.
    3) After saving a subview as new design (see answer #2) it can be imported in some other design (File -> Import -> Data Modeler Design).
    4) What kind of problems do you have with import of Erwin 7.* xml file?

    hi,
I have Oracle version 8.1.7.0.0 installed on one server and 9.2.0.1.0 installed on new server.
I'm copying and pasting my version info from SQL*Plus:

I created new user on my new server from enterprise manager.
Exported user from the old server and imported in the new server.
    i.e: from Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0, I did
    c:\>exp system/manager file=abc.dmp owner=abc
Then on the new server Release 9.2.0.1.0, I did
    c:\>imp system/manager file=abc.dmp fromuser=abc touser=abc
I'm using Arabic Language on my both servers. NLS_LANG parameter on both the servers is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252.
On both the servers I'm able to insert and select data in arabic.
However, after I export the data from old server to the new server, the arabic data comes in question marks.
If I create new table and insert arabic data on new server's user abc it is displaying well. Only the data which I exported and imported is not showing arabic.
On both old and new servers operating system is Windows XP.
I'm stuck with this problem. Anybody having any idea about how to solve this problem please help.
    Thank you all in advance.
    Regards

Let me be clear here. Storing Arabic data in a WE8MSWIN1252 database is not supported by Oracle and will lead to problems. You are incorrectly using the NLS_LANG to prevent proper conversion and your data appears to be okay when you use utilties like SQL*PLUS to view your data. When you write applications that don't rely on the NLS_LANG like JDBC thin driver for instance you will realize your data is in fact invalid. To learn more about the NLS_LANG you can take a look at this FAQ: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/globalization/htdocs/nls_lang%20faq.htm
To migrate your database to a proper character set you can refer to this paper:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/globalization/pdf/mwp.pdf
But please do not ask for help in supporting your current configuration in this forum.

  • Transfer palm data from PC to Mac without using the M100 - only exporting the data and importing?

I had an old Palm M100 that I haven't used in a while but I love the palm desktop app - my PC currently runs 4.1.4
    I have a mac powerbook and I loaded 4.2.1
When I export my calendar and address book data in the .aba and  .dba format from my PC - the Mac palm desktop app doesn't seem to recognize those file formats.
Are those not standard formats between the two platforms?  It also looks like the Mac desktop app doesn't even recognize importing data from another Palm format?  It just shows the other program formats.
Also, when importing as CSV or tab-delimeted those are extremely messed up also.
Any "easy" way to get the data off of my PC and onto my Mac without using the Palm M100 itself?
    Thanks,
    Dave
    Post relates to: Palm m100

The suggestion is not accurate, at least with respect to calendar information. I'm in nearly the same situation, and just tried it. (Saving .dba file out of Windows Palm Desktop 4.1.0, importing into Mac Palm Desktop 4.2.1revD.)
First, the Mac program will not recognize the .dba as an importable format if one selects All Readable Documents.
Second, if one selects All Documents instead, you get the following error message:
The file could not be imported.
In order to import data from Windows Palm Desktop software, export the file in one of these formats: comma (.csv) or tab (.tab) delimited, vCard, or vCal.
The problem with this is that Windows Palm Desktop 4.1.0 offers only two options for exporting Date Book information:
    1) the whole datebook as a .dba file.
    2) individual calendar items as a vCal.
So far as I can see, there's no way to Select All so as to export all as a vCal, and no pre-set option to do so.

  • Best way to export and import data from an iPhone app?

How do people here prefer to export and import data from an iPhone app?
For example, suppose your app creates or modifies a plist. It might be nice to provide that plist to the user for separate backup and later allow them to re-import it.
How do people do that? Email the plist to an address? If so, how would one later get it back in?
Is there a common way people do this kind of thing?
    Thanks,
    doug

Or maybe the best approach for this is some sort of file synchronization feature? Is there a way of having files from the app's filesystem automatically get stored on the computer's filesystem when synchronizing and vice-versa?

    Hi Smash126,
Based on the error message” Could not allocate a new page for database REPORTING' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting
autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

  • How to create the Export Data and Import Data using flat file interface

    Hi,
Request to let me know based on the requirement below on how to export and import data using flat file interface.....
Please provide the steps involved for the same.......
BW/BI - Recovery Process for SNP data.
    For each SNP InfoProvider,
    create:
    1) Export Data:
1.a)  Create an export data source, InfoPackage, comm structure, etc. necessary to create an ASCII fixed length flat file on the XI
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Out folder for each SNP InfoProvider.
1.b)  All fields in each InfoProvider should be exported and included in the flat file.
1.c)  A process chain should be created for each InfoProvider with a start event.
1.d)  If the file exists on the target drive it should be overwritten.
1.e)  The exported data file name should include the InfoProvider technical name.
1.f)  Include APO Planning Version, Date of Planning Run, APO Location, Calendar Year/Month, Material and BW Plant as selection criteria.
    2) Import Data:
2.a) Create a flat file source system InfoPackage, comm structure, etc. necessary to import ASCII fixed length flat files from the XI
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Out folder for each SNP InfoProvider.
2.b)  All fields for each InfoProvider should be mapped and imported from the flat file.
2.c)  A process chain should be created for each InfoProvider with a start event.
2.d)  The file should be archived in the
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Archive directory.  Each file name should have the date appended in YYYYMMDD format.  Each file should be deleted from the \Out directory after it is archived.
    Thanks in advance.

Here's some info on working with plists:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/PropertyLists/Introduc tion/chapter1_section1.html
They can be edited with any text editor. Xcode provides a graphical editor for them - make sure to use the .plist extension so Xcode will recognize it.

  • Import Meta Data from CSV - Export Meta Data to CSV

Ability to import meta data into selected images from CSV file containing a number of fields, one of which is file name. The other fields would be selected tags to import.
Import logic would be, Where file name in column 1 matches current selected filename, then take following fields 2, 3, etc and import into Bridge.
Export selected meta data from selected files to CSV to form reverse of above to allow edit of data in Excel etc.
Further enchancement on import would be to allow instead of just filename, but date/time range matching.
Logic would be, Where date/time in column 1 is within X hours of selected
image creation date/time then import following fields into image meta data.
Useful for example if you already have a GPS tracklog in CSV and want to try and update images with GPS. Assuming camera clock approx same as GPS clock.

The issue was within the .csv file.  There were duplicate records that were attempting to load as the ID value.  After deleting the duplicate records, the transformation file ran successfully.

  • Export and Import data in APEX

I would like to know how to export the data from a table (6000 rows) and then I would like to import the data to another table. So I need to know how to do that process.. it's like to take a picture of the data in the old table and put them into the new table which it has new data.... so I can't just copy and paste...
    Thanks for your help... regards

Dates do not have formats in the database(they are NOT saved as strings in the DB), but when you display them as string or export them then it has a format(coz its just a bunch of characters).
The problem that you are facing is that the _date string in the csv file could not be converted by the database automatically into a date with its current date format settings(of the session).
You need to set the date format of the session before you do the csv file import to the date format of the any date column strings in the file OR better match it with the date format of the client with which you exported the data.
Set the same Date format before exporting as well as before importing.
If its SQL Developer, you should be able to set it in Preferences(think its shown in that demo video)
Do the same before importing too.
Make sure that the datafile date column strings match the format of the importing session.
If you want to pro grammatically set the date format use something like
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-YY HH24.MI.SS';By the way, I think you should have asked this question in the SQL PLSQL forum, since it isn't particularly related to the Apex.
Pls update your forum handle to something more friendlier than "user13344939"

  • Export & Import data in Oracle (Urgent)

I just wonder whether Oracle 8i has the 'Export & Import data' feature in their DBA Administration tool.
Inside DBA Studio, I found a option to export/import data to text file, but we must connect to Oracle Management Server (OMS) first before we can use that feature. I found the same feature available in Oracle 7.3.3 in Oracle Data Manager.
How to make sure that I have a OMS installed on my server? (I purchase a Oracle 8i Standard Edition, does it include OMS?)
Can we export from a table (database A) to a table in database B? Or We can only do this thru. a dump file?

With every installation of an Oracle DB you get the exp(ort) and imp(ort) utilities. You can use them to move data from one user to another.
Run them from the dos-prompt like:

The SQL run via the load rule understands my subvars.  The load rule SQL looks like this:
    select...
    WHERE
AND (('1' = '&IncSpanYr' --IF THE PERIODS SPAN YEARS
AND (('12' = '&CurMoNm' --IN JUNE LOOK INTO NEXT YEAR PERIOD 1
      AND ((A.FISCAL_YEAR = '&CurYrNm' AND A.ACCOUNTING_PERIOD IN ('&PriMoNm', '&CurMoNm'))
    This turns into:
    WHERE
AND (('1' = '1' --IF THE PERIODS SPAN YEARS
AND (('12' = '12' --IN JUNE LOOK INTO NEXT YEAR PERIOD 1
      AND ((A.FISCAL_YEAR = '2014' AND A.ACCOUNTING_PERIOD IN ('2', '3'))
My issue is getting a dump of all that data that the SQL is pulling.  I don't see a way to do that in the import database command.  A separate job on the SQL side (like SSIS) could pull the data, but can't access the subvars easily.  Does that make sense?  Or did I misunderstand your suggestion?
    Thanks-
    Cameron

    hi
Examples of Using Different Releases of Export and Import
Table 19-7 shows some examples of which Export and Import releases to use when moving data between different releases of the Oracle database.
Table 19-7 Using Different Releases of Export and Import
Export from->Import to Use Export Release Use Import Release
    8.1.6 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    8.1.5 -> 8.0.6 8.0.6 8.0.6
    8.1.7 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    9.0.1 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    9.0.1 -> 9.0.2 9.0.1 9.0.2
    9.0.2 -> 10.1.0 9.0.2 10.1.0
    10.1.0 -> 9.0.2 9.0.2 9.0.2
Restrictions When Using Different Releases and Versions of Export and Import
The following restrictions apply when you are using different releases of Export and Import:
1.Export dump files can be read only by the Import utility because they are stored in a special binary format.
2.Any export dump file can be imported into a later release of the Oracle database.
3.The Import utility cannot read export dump files created by the Export utility of a later maintenance release or version. For example, a release 9.2 export dump file cannot be imported by a release 9.0.1 Import utility.
4.Whenever a lower version of the Export utility runs with a later version of the Oracle database, categories of database objects that did not exist in the earlier version are excluded from the export.
5.Export files generated by Oracle9i Export, either direct path or conventional path, are incompatible with earlier releases of Import and can be imported only with Oracle9i Import. When backward compatibility is an issue, use the earlier release or version of the Export utility against the Oracle9i database.

  • Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???

Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???
I have a client who has recently upgraded from V2007 to V8.81. They were succesfuly  using this standard function to import supplier prices to their master price list, but now it has failed?
I have looked at the file they are importing and it appears to be fine.
On closer inspection, it did contain approx 46,000 entries, so I took the first 1,000 and created a test file, which imported fine.
The only issue I found was Speed, with the test file of 1,000 records taking about 30 Mins to import. This appeared to get slower and slower the further through the file it got!
Based on this, I have estimated that the whole file would takle about 13 hours to import. The client say that when they used to run it on version 2007 it was far quicker?
In practice, it does appear to run, but the speed is the issue. Having said this, I set the whole file to run last night (over night)and this morning it had appeared to hang after about 2,307 rows, with nothing else being updated.
Has anyone any ideas or is aware of performance issues like this?
    Thanks,
    Ian

Always an option, but would you give your clients access to this tool?
    Not sure really.
I have uploaded a copy of their database onto my test system and run the same routine. Its equally as SLOW
I can't gauage if its an issue with 8.81 that 2007 didn't have, as I only have the client's word on it, however I have no reason to disbelieve them.
    Kind regards,
    Ian

  • Problem of Data Import/Export after migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g

We have encountered the following problem after the migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g R1 and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3 to 9.1.
In our development server, a view was created by joining of one feature class (point feature), two attribute tables and one F table. We have to perform a process to export all the features in that particular view from the development server and then import them to the production server. In total, there should be about 60,000 points.
Form our past experience (using Oracle DB 9i and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3); we spent about 15-20 minutes to complete the import-export procedure. However, after the system migration, the speed of the import-export procedures is extremely slow, which is talking about 2 hours for ONLY EXPORTING 5MB data.
We would like to seek advice in solving the above problems. THANKS!

Try to delete old stats, then gather new stats on the schema and try the export again.
