Export in to excel sheet

Hi ,
I have some reports and i'm trying to export into excel sheet. we are getting entire results in to excel, but i want to get excel sheet name as our report name while exporting . Is there any solution in OBIEE.

Not possible for OBIEE. Maybe BIP may support this, but I'm not 100% sure.

if i change encoding utf-8 to utf-16 in my code its giving dump..
"The conversion of certain code pages is not supported"
Did i miss any step...?
How to resolve this problem please help me....

Hi Sowmya,
I do had a similar issue, but I avoided that problem temporarily by commenting the following code.
    l_conv_out = cl_abap_conv_out_ce=>create( encoding = 'UTF-8' ).
attach the first file
l_conv_out->convert( exporting data = l_xml_out IMPORTING buffer = l_content ).
Once this is done, you can export the data to Excel and open it and see too...But this is a temporary solution only. Implement this solution to get to understand more flaws of this.

How export report into excel sheet automatically using SSRS 2010?

Hi,
I have created many reports using SQL Server Data Tool 2010 and at my work, we are using active batch to ran reports every month.
Now question is, my boss want me to set up reports such a way that when active batch is ran, reports should be exported into excel sheet automatically with the default values given for parameters at some specific folder location. How can I export report
into excel sheet automatically when active batch is executed?

While exporting data into excel sheet below error was getting even i am created jar file DC and publicpart AND j2ee
I have to deployed the JAR files on the server:
1. Created "External Library DC"
2. added my JAR files into "Libraries" folder.
3. Exposed them as Public Part.
4. Created "J2EE Library DC"
5. Refered "External Library DC" into J2EE Library DC.
6. Deployed "J2EE Library DC"
7. and lastly refered this on my Web Dynpro DC by giving Library Reference.
but still this is the errro was getting, plz any one can help regarding this what could be the problem

Error while exporting data into Excel Sheet

I have created a VO which is based on Query(Not based on EO) and the Query is as follows:

Based on this VO I have created a search page which will search and returns data from the table and finally standard export button will export the data into excel sheet.
In this am searching the data based on above 5 attributes. Without entering anything in the messageTextInput if i am clicking GO button, it is returning all the data into the table region. After this if i click on Export Button, data are getting exported into Excel Sheet. It is fine.
But if i am searching the data by entering any value in any of the messageTextInput, it is returning data. But if i am clicking the Export Button then it is throwing the following error:

WAD 7.0 - Export into multiple excel sheets

Hello all,
I try to export an infofield (with filter values) and analyse table from WAD to excel. But after export both web items, infofield and analyse table, are in the same excel sheet. How can I export the infofield and analyse table in the different excel sheets?
I suppose, that the export will be executed on java-stack with java functionality. In WAD I can only define the parameters for the command "EXPORT". Is it possible to enhance this java coding?
May be, the export to multiple sheets is possible with Web Items "Javascript" or "Custom Extension" with ABAP-Class?

But I think this is not the solution for my problem.
I try to explain my problem again. I have a web template with filter, analyse table and infofield. The infofield contains the selected filter values. There is also a button for export into excel. In WAD 7.0 you have only to set several parameters for the export command and the export to excel works. However all web items will be transfered into the first excel sheet among one another.
Is it possible to export one web item into the first excel-sheet and the second web item into the second excel-sheet of the same excel workbook?

I have 2 options, 'Answers' and 'BI Publisher'. Ideally I would like to use answers, but will use Publisher if necessary.

When a Web Intelligence document is exported to a Microsoft Excel Workbook, the export is handled by the Web Intelligence report engine. Excel is not required to be installed on the machine to execute the export. So, regardless of whether Excel 2003 , Excel 2007, or no Excel is installed, the export is performed using the parameters built into the report engine. This export is done in the Excel 97-2003 format.
A limitation of pre-2007 Excel is the inability to create a worksheet greater than 65,535 rows long. Excel 2007 overcomes that inability thus allowing users to create worksheets of much greater length.
Resolution:
Web Intelligence 3.1 versions overcome the 65,000 row limitation by exporting the document to multiple worksheets within the Excel Workbook. Each worksheet will be 65,535 rows long. For example, if a query returns 150,000 rows of data the resultant export to Microsoft Excel would produce a single workbook with 3 worksheets. 2 worksheets of 65,535 rows and 1 worksheet of 18,930 rows. This export is compatable with Excel 2003 and 2007.

You can implement Export to Excel with BI Beans.
For an HTML client you should look at the oracle.dss.thin.beans.dataView.ExportOptions class. Also look in the BI Beans Help for the Topic "Export Options Dialog".
For a Java client application, you should look at the ExportPanel class (oracle.dss.gridView.gui.ExportPanel) in the BI Beans Javadoc.

When we export the analysis to Excel, OBIEE creates a new spreadsheet. Is there any way that we can force OBIEE to export report in a predefined cell of a spreadsheet which is already saved in a particular location?

No i dont think you can do that. take an example of 3 users across different parts of the world. So when user tries to export the report to excel it will open a new excel sheet with the report data in it which might be latest. But here you are trying to use the same excel sheet which is stored at some different location and embed the new populated data into the excel sheet. thats not gonna work for sure.

Truncation of Heading characters when an ALV is exported to an excel sheet

Hi All,
I am facing a problem while printing an ALV output on to an excel sheet. In the header the last characters are being truncated in the excel.
Now, I have the entire data in tb_output itab. So using REUSE_ALV*, i printed the output. Here comes the problem.
I heard about LIST_FROM_MEMORY and LIST_TO_ASCI which can solve this problem. But not much sure how to use those. Whether I need to pass my itab tb_output into any of these?
Please help me out from this problem.

Hi!
You have 2 options:
1. Shorten your headings so that their length is LE to the fieldlength of the data they are displaying. E.g. for PO number maximum possible is 10.
2. Try using the parameter OUTPUTLEN in the field catalog. You can increase this to be equal to the length of your column heading.

have a look at Anton Scheffers as_xlsx package at http://technology.amis.nl/blog/10995/create-an-excel-file-with-plsql. You can create a worksheet and fill each cell using cell and row number. It should be easy to write a function that transposes the column letters to numbers.
When you are finished you can write the file in Office 2007 format.
