Export IN to OUT

Hello,
I'm running StPro v 1.1 on an old lap-top at home. I'm not as familiar with it as I should be and I'm stumbling into little walls that I know should be simple, but I just can't find the right workflow.
At the moment I'm working on a personal project at home, it's an AIFF recording of a rehearsal session for a local band, and after trimming it down removing all the talking between songs it's approximatly 2 hours long (the band have a 1-hour set list, and they played it twice).
Anyway, I've started a project and have all the songs on separate tracks, and just want to export each song individually which I can send to the guys as stand-alone mp3's.
The mp3 part isn't the problem... it's the 'export each song individually' bit thats baffling me. In FCP, I can place IN and OUT points on the timeline, and export between them, pretty straightforward.
How do you do it in StPro v 1.1? Believe me, I've searched the forum and tried many things, always resulting in either a destructive workflow and I have to keep command-Z'ing, or I get an export of a 3 minute song with 1 hour 57 minutes of silence after it... not exactly what I'm after.
I realise this is a basic question and shows user in-experience, but any help is most appreciated.

Look at the end of your piece. there should be a red line which marks end of project. drag that to the last piece you want to export mark an in and away you go.
Alternately drag each edit into a separate track to the front of the timeline
mute all but the one you want. drag the red end of project up to the end of whatever piece you are exporting and kick it out. this keeps you from scooting around in the timeline as much.
STP is not so much of an editing program as FCP. it's easier to edit slip and slide because it's sample based rather than frame based and has some good tools EQ, compression, verb etc but for what you're doing Quicktime pro is easier. mark in mark out copy> new >paste >save

Export Report times out - how do I export all my customers?

We have about 35,000 customers in our BC database.
I'm trying to export them for use in a direct mailing campaign (and other reports for other reasons) but the export always times out.
The reports are very simple; ie.
Custom Report -> Add customer report
Select Customers (Contacts & Companies)
Select CRM ID, Customer Name, Default Address Type
Next
Generate report (no filters)
About 33,000 results are in the report.
I then select Export Report as CSV or Excel and it will sit there for up to an hour or more and do nothing.
Notes:
I keep the session live by having a login in another tab.
Have tried differenty browsers and internet connections.
I even filtered the results (based on create date) and same problem occurred with just 15,000.
How can I export this report and other simple reports I need?

After Sanjit took a look at this it turns out all I needed to do was to save the report before exporting the results. The export was much quicker and, now we have more cutomers in our database, it actually exports!

What is the best way to export the data out of BW into a flat file on the S

Hi All,
We are BW 7.01 (EHP 1, Service Pack Level 7).
As part of our BW project scope for our current release, we will be developing certain reports in BW, and for certain reports, the existing legacy reporting system based out of MS Access and the old version of Business Objects Release 2 would be used, with the needed data supplied from the BW system.
What is the best way to export the data out of BW into a flat file on the Server on regular intervals using a process chain?

Hello Shashi,
some comments:
1) An "open hub license" is required for all processes that extract data from BW to a non-SAP system (including APD). Please check with your SAP Account Executive for details.
2) The limitation of 16 key fields is only valid when using open hub for extracting to a DB table. There's no such limitation when writing files.
3) Open hub is the recommended solution since it's the easiest to implement, no programming is required, and you don't have to worry much about scaling with higher data volumes (APD and CRM BAPI are quite different in all of these aspects).

Quicktime export, colors washed out

I think this question has been asked before but I just couldn't find a good explanation in the archives. Wondering if anyone knows why, when I export my movie out of FCP to h.264 and then playback in quicktime, the colors become much more muted and washed out. This has been happening for awhile now, and its been driving me nuts and now I have a project that is absolutely going to hurt because of it.
I want the bright vibrant colors that I see in my canvas in FCP -- what gives? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, sorry, this was actually a graphic created in Motion 3 then sent to FCP to sync with some audio and other sound effects. The entire workflow is HDV 1080p24, compressed to various sizes of h.264 and meant for web only. Because it is meant for the web, I have bypassed a calibrated monitor and am just doing all the work on my Apple Cinema displays.
Like I said, I can take the exported h.264 version from FCP, open it in quicktime and hold it up right next to my FCP canvas and the luma and chroma values are noticeable muted, less vibrant, and just not as much fun to look at.
I have played around with the general settings in Quicktime, specifically the "Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility" option, but still no change. I have read other places about this being a gamma issue once the movie is played back in Quicktime, but I really don't know what that means.
All of my software is about as up to date as you can get.

"Viewing PDF After Exporting" is grayed out!

I am using Adobe Design Premium CS5 (specifically Adobe InDesign). When setting up a new PDF preset, I have selected for compatabilty Acrobat 8/9. The problem I am having is that the selection for "View PDF after Exporting" is grayed out. What can I do to get it usable?

Thank you for responding so quickly. The tech team here at school moved all my files and programs to another drive, in the process they lost all my preferences, PDF presets, and more. So I am trying from memory to reconstruct all the tweeking I have done in PHotoshop and InDesign over the last two years - and I am not doing so well. In the past I have had the ability to select "Viewing PDF after Exporting".
As for restoring the preferences - that is out of my league and will have to suggest that to the tech team.

File Export is grayed out in QuickTime Pro!

I am scheduled to perform some songs on Saturday, so I need to learn them. I planned to purchase the songs through iTunes, but they are available only as video clips--not as audio files. I thought I would buy the videos and export them with QuickTime.
When I noticed that the Export feature was unavailable in the free version of QT, I went to the store to buy the Pro license. I chatted with an online store rep who assured me that I would be able to export the audio from my video clips in .wav format. So I plumped for the $33.
Having upgraded my QT to QT Pro, I now find that File > Export is grayed out. In a separate thread from this forum, I read that it's possible that iTunes video clips cannot be exported due to DRM; I need someone to contradict this and tell me that I can get what I've paid for here.
Any advice highly appreciated.

DW Error exporting site w/out markup

Hello,
I'm trying to export my website without markup and I keep getting the following error:
"While executing onLoad in ExtractTemplateXML.htm, a javascript error occurred"
Does anybody how to fix this?

Hi - I'm having the same problem (js error on exporting site w/out markup) and the following has not remedied it -
Getting rid of the WinFileCache-********.dat file (suggested by http://forums.adobe.com/thread/417116?tstart=0#cache link above)
Getting rid of the my Personal Configuration folder
Deleting the _notes directory
Deselecting the Design Notes preference under the Manage Sites "Design Notes" tab
It occurs at Line 78 if that's any indication of the problem. Dreamweaver then just hangs, have to stop the process.

I am configuring the outbound option for ucce 10, when i configure the sip dialer port (dialer conifguration) in conifiguration manager, i just added 5 ports, i can see this ports showing in dialer process on the PG, but i need to export this ports to Unified communication manager, i could not able to export it because this option grayed out (i did select all, or individual selection both are having export option grayed out)
Any idea?

Exporting port configuration is only allowed for SCCP, in SIP Dialer Deployment its actually not needed and that why its grayed out.

in Sip Dialer you don't need to create any Port For Dialer under CUCM. its only required in SCCP.
Sip Dialer port Directly registers with VG.

Export raw file out of lightroom

Is there a way to export a raw file out of LR if who want to work on
in other app? I wanted to use DoX on some I-Stock photos and wanted just
to export.

This sounds like you are trying to replicate an Aperture function - exporting the raw files to get them out of its dungeon or vault.
You might not need to export the raw files in LR. If you drag to the Mac Desktop, you are duplicating the raw file, which may well be what you want to achieve. Alternatively why not just Cmd-R to show them in Finder and then edit them in DoX (what?). The other alternative is to do your LR adjustments and then use export to generate TIF or JPG files for further editing. But without knowing what DoX is, it's hard to say what the right way may be.

Motion 5 Share/Export Buttons Greyed out

Hi, just got Motion 5 on it's own for a project we're doing in FCP7 and for some reason all the "next" or "share" buttons in the export menus are greyed out or disabled. We've messed with a lot of settings but to no avail.
Is there something I'm missing here? There's nothing written on the Motion product page about requiring Compressor or FCP-X to export and I haven't found anyone else online with this issue.

So there's nothing I can do to get this fundamental part of the software working? It's pretty stupid if it can't save.
The only option I have to take this higher is to get Apple Care video and that's $800 for something that appears to be a bug in Motion validating an external framework. From a software design perspective, the only reason that I'd want to grey those buttons is if there were a setting in each dialog that you needed to set before you could export or you were only using a trial version and you wanted to stop people from exporting it or if the dependent framework (e.g. ProApps export manager) wasn't validated in the registry within motion.
If they throw anything else at me like you need FCPX or Compressor or Lion then that's not right either since they had no mention of that on their website when I purchased it.
This is just really frustrating!

Why is "Export Video" greyed out? I need to export an AVI (PP2.0)

Yes, I'm still on PP 2.0. I've never seen this until today where Premiere won't allow me to export my AVI with video as Microsoft DV AVI. It will if I switch it to Microsoft AVI. (See screen print image.)
I've re-booted, I've tried importing the settings that I had previously saved for times like this. Still nothing. When I open ANY project, now, I have the same issue. Any ideas?
I remember with an old version of Premiere when something quarky like this happened we'd have to delete the prefs and then re-open the project for the prefs to reset. Is there something like that for this?

Problem solved. In the past, I have actually had Video mistakenly uncheck and rendered out AVI's that were audio only. (I only work with DV AVI's, although it's entirely possible a setting got switched to the non-DV.) So this time I simply panicked when I saw it grayed out and don't ever remember it being like that. Hunt, you are right that even though it was grayed out, it was still checked, so I did a test movie and the video IS there. I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't try this sooner. I simply panicked. Thanks guys!

Exporting PDF's out of InDesign CS5.5?

I have a bunch of users in my newsroom that are having various different issues (yes we have 3rd party extensions and no we can't disable them and put out a paper that way...kind of between a rock and a hard place there!). One of the issues is exporting pages out as PDF's. It's crashing fairly regularly.
It appears to me that there are 3 different ways to put out a PDF for printing (systems admin for a newspaper). Is there a right and a wrong way to get a PDF out of InDesign? Perhaps a less likely to crash option? As of my count there's 3 different ways that a PDF can be created from InDesign:
File - > Adobe PDF Presets
File -> Export
File -> Print
The computers they are running are Windows XP (all updates applied), 4 Gigs of RAM, Dual monitors set vertical (read something that this might be an issue?), Quad Core systems.

Is not encouraging. It doesn't look anything like PDF Export, and it also appears to be rather incomplete.
Was this crash, from 8:26pm on Monday, truly in pdf export?
7.5.2 is certainly the version to be on. Do you know if your problems occurr with CS5?
Which of the 3 (well, 2) methods of obtaining a PDF produce the crashes?
Have you taken special steps to disable background (async) PDF exports?

Exporting raw files out of Aperture

How does one go about getting the raw files back out of aperture? I know that when opening the external editor it opens up in Tiff or PDS. I want to get my original Raw file out to being working with out the processing of the raw file in Aperture. Can any one help me?

Option 1. File>Export>Export Master... (also available by Right-clicking/Control-clicking on the selected thumbnails or by pressing Command-Shift-S)
Option 2. File>Relocate Master... and start storing the images as referenced files outside the Library.
Option 3. Use the search box in the top right of the forum pages...
