  • Show Repeated key values in Reports and Export Into Excel

    Hi Experts,
    Currently I am working on the BW3.5 version. Our client requirement to display the repeated key value in web and export same into excel. I have followed the steps in web template which mentioned below to achieve the requirement.
    1) In my web template, add the following line to the Template Properties object tag (the tag at the very top of the web template in HTML mode):<param name="SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS" value=""/>
    After the change web template change, Myself execute the report in web, Its fine web. But I export into excel, again the key values are suppressed. So I have followed the steps in query. Then its fine. I mean, I can export into excel with repeated key values.
    2) In my query, in Properties and on the Display tab, unchecked "Hide Repeated Key Values".
    But do we have any other option without changing query properties to achieve the requirement.. I am fine with the web template change("SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS"). But I do not want to change the query properties.
    Please help me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,

    Hi Experts,
    I have come across one of the suggestion in the below location. Could you plz help me to implement it.
    http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=118185
    Suggestion:
    You can do exactly what you want, but it will take either a button changing the properties of the web item or a javascript function added to the context menu getting the properties of the table item and changing it to "X" or "". These are just two examples, there are other ways to do this. This is the actual code that sets the suppression for the repeated texts. Hope this helps.

  • Report exported into excel contains garbage character but is good in PDF

    Issue
    Report exported via CrystalReportViewer (integrated via JSP) into Excel or Word format contains garbage characters.
    Based on investigation, following observation was gathered:
    1. CrystalReportViewer, PDF - Good
    2. CrystalReportViewer, Excel - Bad
    3. CrystalReportViewer, Others - Bad
    4. InfoViewer, PDF - Good
    5. InfoViewer, Excel - Good
    6. InfoViewer, Others - Good
    Software (Platform): BEA WebLogic Server (AIX/Windows) - Crystal Report Server (Windows)
    Appreciate if anyone could provide any clue which part in the integration could have gone wrong.
    Thank you.

    Another way that might work is to remove all extra characters and whitespace outside of the <% %> tags from the jsp page that contains the viewer.
    e.g.
    Not Correct
    <% some code %>
    <% some more code %>
    Correct
    <% some code %><% some more code %>
    (Line feeds and whitespace count too)

  • Export to excel character set problem

    Hello,
    I'm having troubles exporting a query to excel in ApEx,
    signs like é ü are displayed incorrect. I have been searching for a while now but i can't find out what is wrong. The DAD of the DB is UTF8 and ApEx is also UTF8. Could anyone give me hint what could be wrong?
    Here is an example:
    WÜRTH is displayed WÃœRTH
    When I trow in a convert from UTF8 to WE8ISO8859P15
    WÜRTH is displayed as WTH
    FROM 'US7ASCII', 'WE8ISO8859P1'
    WÜRTH is displayed as W??RTH
    I use the following procedure:
    PROCEDURE p_export_lots(p_public_sale_id IN public_sales.public_sale_id%TYPE,
    p_language_cd IN item_descriptions.language_cd%TYPE)
    IS
    CURSOR c_excel
    IS
    Select itm.item_id, to_char(long_description) long_description
    from items itm, item_descriptions des
    where itm.item_id = des.item_id
    and language_cd = p_language_cd
    and dossier_id In ( SELECT dossier_id
    FROM dossiers
    WHERE public_sale_id = p_public_sale_id)
    ORDER BY to_number(lotnr_from);
    v_trans VARCHAR2(400);
    BEGIN
    -- Set the MIME type
    owa_util.mime_header( 'application/octet', FALSE );
    -- Set the name of the file
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="export.csv"');
    -- Close the HTTP Header
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    -- Print out a portion of a row,
    -- separated by commas and ended by a CR
    FOR rec_excel IN c_excel LOOP
    v_trans := rec_excel.long_description;
    htp.p(' '||';'||rec_excel.item_id||';'||v_trans||';'); -- a new line in excel
    END LOOP;
    -- Send an error code so that the
    -- rest of the HTML does not render
    htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    END p_export_lots;
    Thanks in advance

    hmmm the DAD should be "AL32UTF8" not "UTF8" ...
    as long as you use the htp.p procedure all your output is being converted to
    AL32UTF8 (as the DAD setting states).
    Why don't you use the APEX-provided export-to-excel function. IKf you navigate
    to the application settings and there to the globaization settings you can enable
    the "automatic CSV encoding" - Setting this to "yes" should do the trick for you ...

  • Exporting into Excel Using the Dynpro Binary Cache is not working on NW04s

    Hello,
    I am using excel data export using the
    "Exporting Context Data into Excel Using the Web Dynpro Binary Cache" guide at
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/edc2f3c2-0401-0010-8898-acd5b6a94353">this link</a>.
    The tutorial is working on NW04 but when I use it on NW04s I receive errors for the StringBuffer object:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.lang.StringBuffer.append(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/AbstractStringBuilder;
    Any ideas?

    Hallo Roy,
    I have created an updated/enhanced version of this tutorial running on NW 7.0. The new solution allows to open the exported Excel File instantly without opening a popup window befor:
    See <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/0mQ">Exporting Table Data Using On-Demand Streams - SAP NetWeaver 7.0</a>.
    <b>NOTE:</b>
    Use <b>LinkedHashMap</b> instead of <i>HashMap</i>
      private Map getProductColumnInfos() {
        Map columnInfosMap = new LinkedHashMap();
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.QUANTITY, "Quantity");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.ARTICLE, "Article");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.COLOR, "Color");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.PRICE, "Price in EURO");
        columnInfosMap.put(
          IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.TOTAL__PER__ARTICLE,
          "Total Per Article In Euro");
        return columnInfosMap;
    This keeps the order of key-displaytext-pairs passed by the client (table component) to the service (excel export component) stable.
    Regards, Bertram

  • Export to Excel encoding problem

    I am using SQL Developer 1.1 Patch 1 (1.1.1.25) on Windows 2000 with Oracle 10g (on Linux).
    The database has NLS_CHARACTERSET EL8ISO8859P7
    (to support Greek characters)
    Although in SQL Developer the greek characters are displayed correctly in the Results and Script Output panes, when I export the results to Excel, the Greek characters are displayed as squares and other symbols:
    Example:
    The text: ΣΤΕΓΑΣΤΙΚΑ ΔΑΝΕΙΑ
    appears in Excel as: £¤•“‘£¤™š‘ ”‘•™‘
    (The version of the Excel I use is Microsoft Excel 2000)
    I have tried many different encodings (from Tools > Preferences > Environment > Encoding) such as cp1253, ISO-8959-7, utf-8, utf-16 but the result is always the same.
    The export as CSV has no problem with the greek characters.
    I also noticed that the changes to the encoding in Export Data > Export File Chooser seem to be lost (if I change it and then reselect Browse... to check it, the default from preferences is shown again).
    I also have the problem mentioned in another post, that when I export data to clipboard and do paste to Excel, a value such as java.io.BufferedOutputStream@8ff9a7 is only pasted.

    Hi!
    I am somewhat confused as to "the next release". I am exporting to excel from a portlet in a portal page and during the export process, characters that look like boxes are displayed in the title bar on the message dialog box that pops up. For me this is just a cosmetic porblem since all of my data exports exactly as it should, but the export process does not look clean when the little boxes are displayed. So I am interested in the release you are referencing and when it will be available. I am using Portal Reports Oracle 10g on Unix.

  • Exporting to Excel - Macro Problems

    For reasons unknown to us, when we export our crosstab reports from Discoverer 4i to Excel(2000 or 2003), we are getting a dialog message box warning us of the following, "The document you are opening contains macros. Some macros may contain harmful viruses. If you are sure this document is from a trusted source, Click Yes. If you are not sure and want to prevent any macros from running, click No." If we click Yes, then it will download two sheets, the first complete with drop down boxes etc and the second sheet just contains the regular crosstab report that we used to get but with formatting included, aka grey shaded columns etc. We checked the ExcelExportWithMacros pref and it is set to 0, the macro security on Excel is set to medium.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thank you

    The macro warning is something that's well known when exporting to Excel. Just for grins, try putting your security at low to see if it still warns. There may be some kind of macro that gets sent with the export (this has been discussed before), but not really sure. However, many clients I've been at just accept it and click Yes. I believe it's a 4.x thing (ie: I hope it's been corrected in 10g), but haven't tried that yet to be sure.
    As for the export having more than one worksheet, I believe I remember that this is also a known 'challenge' (ie: it doesn't just come out like a pivot table in 1 worksheet) and again, I'm pretty sure it's only a 4.x thing.
    Also, are there 2 options for exporting to Excel for a xtab (ie: export to Microsoft Excel Workbook (.xls), Microsoft Excel Pivot Table (.xls)? If so, try each as the first is for static sheet only info and the latter exports a 'static sheet', a 'pivot table' and 'warning sheet'.
    Also see metalink doc: 214075.1 for one possibility.
    Also see metalink doc: 157162.1 for another idea.
