  • Difference between OBIEE Logical Modelling and physical modelling

    HI.
what is the difference between logical modeling (BMM) and physical modelling(Physical layer) in obiee admin tool
please narrate it in definition format
    thank you
    rakesh

    Hi rakesh,
Administrator tool consists of 3 layers
Physcial layer:-It is typically first layer built in the repository.Contains objects representing the physical data sources to which the BI server submits queries. It may conatin multiple data sources. The common way is to import metadat from different databases. You can define joins after import if they are not defined.
Business model and mapping layer:-It is defined as business or logical models of data and specifies the mapping between the physical and business layers. This is where the physical schemas are simplified to form the basis for the end user.We can say data is seperated into facts and dimension tables
Presentation layer:-simplifies and organizes the business model to make it easy for users to understand and query
go through the user guides for all the definition and subject
    Hope it helps you.my points?

  • Importing logical and physical model from Sybase power designer/Erwin

    Hello,
We have several models created in Sybase Power designer, logical and as a well as physical. Is there a way to directly import models into Oracle designer?
    Thank you for your help.
    Syed

    Hi Syed,
ERwin has a facility to export to Designer 2000. Of course you're probably not using Designer 6.0 or earlier so it's of little use.
I have been looking at a couple of tools for importing from ERwin: Reischmann Informatik’s TOOLBUS Interface for Oracle Designer and ALLFusion ERwin; and Meta Integration Technology’s Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB). Neither product is free (nor inexpensive) but if you've got a number of models to convert then the tools seem cheap by comparison. Also, none of the products that I've looked at recreate the actual diagrams (not that I expected them to).
I am leaning towards TOOLBUS as it provides more complete migration of Logical and Physical models (especially the linkages between the models) using Oracle Designer’s API rather than a DAT file as provided by MIMB.
    Hope this helps,

  • DataModeler 3.0EA2 Conflict between relational and physical properties

    Hi all,
some properties (e.g. RDBMS Comments) can be specified an both relational and physical level.
If nothing is specified at physical level, the values of the relational model is used.
If something is specified at the physical level, it overrides the value of the relational model.
    So far so good.
However if and when I delete the values at the physical level it uses no value at all instead
of falling back to the value of the relational model.
It appears, that there is some sort of "dirty flag", which is set the first time a value is entered
at the physical level and this flag is not cleared, when the value is delete.
    Is this the intended behavior?
Is there any way of resetting the flag?
    Any help appreciated
    Jan-Peter

    Hi Philip,
I agree, that would make it look as though it was using the relational value but I don't think
that would reset the "dirty flag.
I would like to avoid maintaining the same info in 2 places as they are bound to get out of sync.
Again my intention is the following behavior:
    - When I delete the RDBMS Comment values of the physical model, the tool should use any
existing RDBMS Comment values of the relational model.
    Regards,
    Jan-Peter

  • Help turning off feature that opens all pages and numbers docs.

How can I turn off feature that opens all numbers and pages documents each time I open the respective program?

What version of OS X are you using? That information will help in providing a specific solution.
If you close all documents before quitting Numbers or Pages, you won't have them reopening when you launch the app again. You can quickly close all open windows in an application by typing ⌘ ⌥ W (Command + Option + W) or hold down the Option/alt key while clicking the red close button.
Other things you can do to turn off this resume feature:
In Lion, Mountain Lion & Mavericks you can set System Preferences > General to close windows when quitting an application.
Try Mountain Tweaks The option to turn off resume is at the bottom of the left-hand column under Lion. This solution does not work in Mavericks.

  • Logical and Physical Models

    Hi All,
I'm new to Designer. I need to produce a logical data model in Oracle Designer 10g. I have created a few tables in the RON and have used Design Editor to add these to a Server Model. I think this is giving me the physical model rather than the logical model.
Can you please tell me if I'm going about this the wrong way ? I need the logical model to confirm with the non-technical people before I produce the physical model for the techies.
    Thanks

    Hi,
John - yes I have already checked all this, all looks ok. Also, I'm only using the REPOS_MANAGER account for now so permissions should not be an issue.
Mark - when you say create an entity in the RON, I can create tables, how would I create an entity in the RON ? I can go to Diagrams in the RON and see my ERD.
When I installed the repository I do remember having to go to the SYS account to grant an execute on a package to the REPOS_MANAGER user because one of the REPOS_MANAGER packages required it.
Any direction would be appreciated ?
    Thanks
BillyAh, but that IS the issue. You shouldn't use the repository owner account for your day to day work. Create another Oracle user and grant it privileges through the RAU. Then connect as that user to work in Designer. Oddly enough, the repository owner doesn't have the privileges that it needs - the privileges are stored in the repository, not database privileges.

  • Can you disable Optimus on all 4xx and 5xx models?

I'm looking for a Lenovo laptop that can run its nVidia graphics on Windows. From Lenovo support site, I found Lenovo nVidia drivers for Windows XP for the following Lenovo models: T430, W530, T410, and W510. I also read that you can disable Optimus on such models from the BIOS.
Does all such models support disabling Optimus? Or are there T430s, W530s, T410s, and W510s sub-models that cannot  disable Optimus? The bottom line is, am I safe with those models?
Also, are there T430s sub-models that come with Intel HD-only? If that's the case, I would avoid them; suffice to say that I just don't want to use Intel HD graphics, and I've been avoiding Intel HD for anything other than Office. I'll only buy the models that come with nVidia discrete graphics. How do I know whether a sub-model doesn't have nVidia? I'll buy the laptop from ebay, by the way, so I need to make sure if the sub-model actually have nVidia graphics.
By the way, my need is very specific. In other words, I need a laptop that support both nVidia and Windows XP (able to run nVidia graphics on Windows XP). Please do not respond with "use Windows 7 instead". You see, I already have Windows 7 laptops for that matter, so the last thing I need is another Windows 7 laptop.
Anyway, I also have Lenovo B460. **bleep** fine laptop, able to run nVidia graphics on Windows XP. Too bad such great models are not made anymore. What I'm looking for is a perfect replacement for my B460, because I'm concerned the laptop will eventually die off because of wear and tear.

Yes, you can get all models of TX10's to TX30's with Intel only, these workhorse models of the ThinkPad have
always been highly configurable, so you must really read the model description when/if you get one. The best
thing to do is to get the machine MTM (machine type / model) and look it up on support.lenovo.com.
If I remember correctly, the early T410/T510 that were equipped with the nVidias were called Switchable Graphics
models, the Optimus wasn't available until later, as per the article I posted. But in all the latest BIOS'es for the
Swichable Graphic models, you can choose between integrated / discreet / switchable, same as with Optimus.
Only thing, as I said, that you have to do is be mindful of which model you're getting and examine the specs
closely, as the options for them are vast. No matter which one you get, XX10's to XX30's, they are all based
on the same principle, just different generations.

Nope, it's in the released version of MacOS 10.10, and affecting many applications. There are several discussions about it on the Apple Yosemite forums.
For now, all you can do is turn off GPU drawing and restart Photoshop.

  • SWF Export, no font showing in Acrobat and zoom border problem (Acrobat & Reader) - Indesign CS6

    Hi Everyone,
If anyone could help me on this that would be great, I've spent hours on the forums and manuals to no avail.
I'm making an interactive PDF brochure in Indesign for one of our new products and I'm having issues (actual or perceived??!!) with the SWF export and PDF creation.  I'm placing animations and video in the INDD, exporting it as an SWF (with the text option as Flash Classic Text) and then opening the SWF (not importing to a word doc or anything, just opening the SWF) with Acrobat using the advanced options to import the video resources and to enable the content when the page is opened.  I then save the file as a PDF.  In the PDF everything works as it should, the animations, the buttons, the video plays and so on.  Great.. hmm not quite.
The trouble I am having is that all the content of the SWF when viewed in Acrobat seems to be getting rasterised/flattened - is this correct?  After the SWF is opened, Acrobat indicates no fonts in the fonts tab in the document properties so when the SWF is zoomed in Acrobat, or the saved PDF in Reader, the font gets pixelated and the document is not searchable/text can not be highlighted.  The images are not selectable either - it is as if the entire page has been flattened to one image.  Is there a way to stop this so that the SWF opened with Acrobat retains the font and individual images like a normal PDF?  Do I have to open the SWF in Flash first to set some parameters or something?  Is there something I am doing wrong when exprting the SWF from Indesign?  I think I have tried about every possible export combination.  When I open the .HMTL (exported at the same time as the SWF from Indesign) in a browser, the same happens.  All the animations work but the text appears to be rasterised/flattened/not searchable.  Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.
I have tried importing the SWF back into another new INDD and exporting that as an interactive PDF but then the video does not work.  I suppose I could try exporting all the individual animations as SWFs, importing them all and trying to get them to work with the video but I can see that will take quite some time and does not seem to be a guaranteed solution from what I have read on the forums - video playback being the issue.
Another problem is that when the SWF, or saved PDF, is zoomed in Acrobat/Reader between approx 150% and 210% a thick white border appears in the document and the content is squashed into the middle creating a slightly pixelated and narrow page.  When I zoom out from the page I get a small white line on the right hand border at around 70% zoom.  Please see images.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
On another, sort of related topic, my timing panel went blank yesterday and was not showing any animations in documents that it had been used to order and synch animations on page load as well as new documents.  The panel was blank.  I updated to V8.0.1 and the panel sprang back into life - hope that helps anyone else finding the same problem.
I am not very familiar with Indesign/Acrobat/Flash so I guess all the above could be what I'm doing or I could be asking  really dumb questions - apologies from a newbie.
    Best,
    Emily

    Hi All,
I have now pretty much solved all the issues by creating the SWF in Flash rather than Indesign.  I would advise anyone looking to create an interative PDF with animation and interactivity to go with Flash from the start.  While Flash is a little more involved to create the same effects as Indesign, the extra time taken will ensure a more controllable and better looking PDF in terms of text quality, scalability and so on.  Plus you will not spend days trying to get video to work along side imported SWF etc in Indesign.  One of the best controls in Flash is being able to set the stage.scaleMode for the document so the PDF still looks crisp when zooming, no white borders etc.  So, create the .fla, export to .SWF, open the .SWF with Acrobat, modify the advanced settings to enable start on page load and save as a PDF.  If you don't know Flash, I didn't a couple of days ago, watch a couple of tutorials on Youtube.. buttons, tweens, embedding video and you'll be ready.  Don't be put off by ActionScript, there are really handy Code Snippets in CS6 that do all the heavy lifting for you.
    Sorry Indesign!
    Best,
    Em

  • Open all links and bookmarks in a new tab

Today I updated to FF 23.0 and Tab Mix Plus is no longer fully functional, and I had to disable it. I am trying to duplicate its functions in about:config.
    I have two issues:
    1. How can I get all bookmarks to open in a new tab on the far right? Bookmarks are opening on top of the active tab, and this I cannot abide.
    2. How can I get all links to open in a new tab? No new windows, no right-click, no over-writing the current tab... just make ALL links open in a new tab on the far right?
    Thank you.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

  • Force Safari to open ALL links and everything else in tabs

I want to have just one Safari window open and all the links that I click on that are supposed to be in a new window open in a new tab and all the links that I click on any other program open on the same safari window but in a new tab just like in Firefox.
Can I do that? One single window for all my browser needs?

    Hi
Sure you can do it - you enter the following in Terminal
    +defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true+
    then press the Return key

  • Adobe Reader trying to open all .exe and .ink extensions

Upon installation of Adobe Reader all the programs that I have (and other files) are now trying to execute through this. • I photo not now opening all photos and ' blocked plug in's'  on safari

Please help . This is a new occurrence previously all ok .
Have checked latest version of flash player is installed. Software up to date.

If you want to update the OS, you initiate the download through the AppStore.  That said, someone tried this yesterday and it didn't resolve the issue for them.
We tested the upgrade scenario and blocklist functionality on a MacOS 10.6.8 machine and are unable to reproduce the symptoms, but we believe that they exist.  We don't know what the common denominator is yet, though.
I'm wondering if a complete uninstall and reinstall of Flash Player might solve it:
Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS
    Then run the installer again.

  • Adobe tries to open all programs and con not be uninstall

Hi, I am using Windows XP and I installed Adobe Reader X 10.1.3 But after I installed Adobe, I could not open any files except the ones on desktop. I can not use any of them from Start or Control Panel. I tried to uninstall Adobe from Control Panel>Default Programs>Program Install/Unistall but still tries to open with Adobe. Is there any other way that I can uninstall?

It seems that the file association for .exe and .cpl may have been corrupted (and are now pointing to Adobe Reader).
Can you open Windows Explorer, or does it give you the same problem?
When did this start?  Can you possibly do a System Restore to a date before it started?
This may be quite difficult to solve if you cannot open any .exe or .cpl files.

  • How to get the disco model with all tables and fields ?

    Hello !
I have to make a document showing all the tables and fields I have in my EUL ... This would be a good documentation for our company and our clients too !
I haven't find any ways to perform this directly from disco admin and I can't make a query using the EUL tables ...
    Please Help ...

    Hi,
I am assuming you are using Discoverer 4.1/4i. In the Oracle Home\Discvr4 directory contains an EUL4.eex file. Import this in Admin edition, and it will create a business area on your EUL. Then you can get details on the Folders and Items and use it to create reports....
