Hello everyone,
i am looking a PowerShell script to export mailbox account to pst file (Not From exchange or Office365).
the mailbox account was in cloud, and i connecting useing pop3.
this script need to be easy:
Within the script I set up ones: mail server addresses, POP3 with SSL, Port Number.
when i run the script i need to typed the MailAccount (before the @), It will add the extension automatically (example: domain.com)
i need to type the password to mailbox
he script will export all mail to file (the file was [MailBoxAccount].pst ).
File destination is a network folder (A fixed location write down script).
At the end it will write me the following information: exports of the box (box name) was successful.
If you can write down the file size that would be great.
I was looking for a great many sites on exports from the cloud information (not from Office 365) and found something that could really help me.

Hey Mike Laughlin,
There are people with very great knowledge, not down from the level of knowledge of the consultant that sometimes is not objective (as it receives financial compensation from software to market).
Maybe its a complex request, but still it is appropriate to ask in the forum because maybe there are people who engaged or know part of the solution or how to do this.
For example:
SMB business opened a mailbox for each employee a normal (organizational) in Gmail, whether he can export the data to PST file? The script should be pretty similar (only the server address & port was different).
I am sure that the possibility exists, because Microsoft would prefer and promote the transfer of users to Exchange.

  • Disappearing mailboxes after import from iMac (10.7.5) to MBP (10.8.4)

I've been using an iMac (OS X 10.7.5, Mail v 5.3) for all mail functions for years and recently bought a refurb MacBook Pro Retina (OS X 10.8.4, Mail v 6.5). I set up the MBP to import all applications, files, accounts, etc., from the iMac. This all went pretty well, except for Mail. The mailboxes and folders I had set up on the iMac did not appear in the Mail app on the MBP. I managed OK with this setup for awhile, but the other day I decided to try to get all the folders to be the same on both machines, so I imported them via WiFi. After doing so, all but one of the mailboxes on the iMac have been renamed as /Volumes/[username]/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes/[mailbox name]. All are empty, except for the one which came through OK. I would like to get those old folder names with the contents inside as they were before.
As for the MBP, the folders appear under /On My Mac/Import/[folder name], and the corresponding emails are found within. Only issue is that there are strangely-named sub-folders, such as /Deleted Messages/F64553E2-9025-47E3-9941-53048CE9B7D1; inside that is a folder named Data; inside that are folders 0 & 1. This goes on for a few more levels until the bottom folder, Messages, shows up with deleted messages, the latest of which is dated 6/23/13 (the most recently dated deleted message in the topmost Deleted Messages folder is 7/5/13). Naturally, I'd like to clean this mess up and, eventually, get all mail folders on both machines synced.
Anyone out there think you might be able to help? Thanks.
BTW, I thought it best to leave out details of any IOS issues with my iPhone mail and iPad mail. I'm mainly concerned with the MBP and the iMac.

Select all your mailboxes on the old Mac, and then select
    Mailbox ▹ Export Mailbox...
from the Mail menu bar. Export the mailboxes to the Desktop folder. Transfer to the new Mac.
On the new Mac, import the mailboxes you transferred:

  • Synchronisation of Mail with POP3 account

I have two email accounts, Mobile Me (now upgraded to iCloud) and a POP3 account from my ISP.  I had set things so that my MobileMe mailbox automatically read my POP3 account so that all incoming messages ended in my MobileMe mailbox.  This had the advantage of synchronisation between Macbook, iPhone and iPad.  The MobileMe/POP3 account synchronisation has recently stopped working.  I can't think of an event that might have caused this.
I want to investigate but I can't remember how I set it up in the first place.  Can anybody help?
I have a work around involving a rule in Mac Mail but this only works when Mail is running on the Mac whereas the previous solution didn't.

I don't know if they will give you the certificate... but this is the process for adding certs for securing emails.
    Otherwise, try Outlook 2011.

  • No directory tree on POP3 accounts vs. IMAP accounts on BB Passport

    Hello,
After the setup of 4 different e-mail accounts in the BB mail client of my BB Passport I discovered that I cannot see the directory tree of the typical elements of inbox, sent files, outbox, drafts etc. if I want to look into some stored e-mails.
If I touch the headline in the mailbox of one chosen account (e. g. “Freenet”) – nothing happened. It is the same case in 3 of those 4 accounts. If I got an e-mail and I touch the “file/store” symbol I could see the above mentioned directory tree. In that case I can click on inbox and it seems that the e-mail is stored.
If I would now go back and look for former (already stored) e-mails which I couldn’t see any more in the Hub I cannot expand the tree from the account headline.
The only account which is working fine is the IMAP account of Google Mail. All others are POP3 accounts. Is there any reason that there is no directory tree displayed in POP3 accounts? Is this a bug or is this intended? At home I use outlook and I have no issues to see such a directory tree for the same account on POP3 basis.
Usually I wouldn’t work with IMAP but other mail programs like k9 (which is working fine -> sideloaded) are not implemented in the Hub-structure. That is the reason why I installed all my accounts on the BB system directly.
Is there anybody who could help me with an explanation or with a workaround to fix this issue?
    Thank you in advance!
    Software version: 10.3.0.908
    Kind regards,
    Tenonen

It is not the kind of sync I am looking for or I am expecting...
If I store an e-mail from one of my POP3 accounts starting from the Hub surface (total view of all events/inboxes) I can see that short tree of four elements (inbox, sent...). But I cannot find it if I would like to re-open my inbox of a POP3 account like I can do it with an IMAP account.
If I choose my Google Mail account from the Hub preference "google mail" and I touch the head-line of this IMAP account the tree pulls down. If I choose one of my POP3 account from the Hub preference "Freenet" and I do the same (touch the head-line of the account) no tree will be opened.
It is no problem to see all my requested things in k9 as an alternative e-mail client. But the disadvantage of k9 is that it is not embedded in the Hub-architecture.
John_Clark, maybe it is now more clear to understand my issue.
Thanks for your reply in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Tenonen

  • Exchange 2007 Export-Mailbox Error Message on only certain mailbox

I have searched high and low for a solution to this, but no such luck. Hopefully someone has had the same issue and can help me out.
I am attempting to export and then remove a date range for mailboxes before I migrate to an Exchange 07 server. The mailboxes range in the 10 GB range. I am attempting to use the Exchange 2007 cmdlet to do this with due to it does not have a 2 GB limit like the Exmerge of past.
The command I am using is as follows:
[PS] C:\>Export-Mailbox -Identity User -StartDate "01/01/07" -EndDate "01/30/08"
    -IncludeFolders "\Inbox","\Sent Items" -PSTFolderPath c:\PST\pst.pst
This command works fine on some of the mailboxes in the Exchange03 system. But on some of the mailboxes I am getting the following error.
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to t
he destination mailbox store with error:
MAPI or an unspecified service provider.
ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
    Any ideas?

    Hello Joe Rod (and others)
Thought I'd bring this over as a cross post because no-one seems to be picking it up in the 'admin' section. I believe I'm having a similar issue to yourself, as detailed below:
    Hi all,
I've already posted this same question elsewhere, but if anyone here can resolve the issue or suggest a better way (without using archiving software - yet!), I'd be most grateful. I'd even be happy if someone can replicate the problem so I know I'm not going mad... I'm trying to set up a quick & dirty quarter year pst mail archive for one of our users on our Exchange 2007 (SP1) box. Using the command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -enddate "01/03/2007"
I come up against this error:
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
Which I understand is a fairly standard permissions error. Problem is that I know the permissions are set correctly, having tested the function by removing the -enddate parameter; and getting a successful export.
I worked out after a while that the command seems to fall over when it hits a subfolder, so I tested this by using the -includefolders parameter. The command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox' -enddate "01/03/2007"
will fail if there are any subfolders under '\inbox'. Add the names of the subfolders:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox\subfolder1' -enddate "01/03/2007"
and as long as those subfolders don't have any subfolders, I will get a successful export.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers
    Dan
If anyone is able to replicate this, please let me know, I'd love to get this sorted. If it is a known problem - can I use someone's PSS contact please?!

  • Export -mailbox to move emails older than 400 days to pst file

i have written the below script
    $date = get-date
    $MailboxList = get-content "E:\del_users.txt"
    ForEach ($Mailbox in $MailboxList) {
    Export-Mailbox -Identity $Mailbox -PSTFolderPath E:\pstfiles\$mailbox.pst -BadItemLimit 1000000 -StartDate $date.adddays(-450).ToString('MM/dd/yyyy') -DeleteContent
my target is to move all emails older than 450 days to a pst file. i ran this on one user and noticed his emails from today to 450th day from today was moved out.
In simple terms, i want to move all emails in all sub-folders that are older than 01-January-2014. Once this is done and when he logs to owa or outlook he must be only be able to see emails from 01-Jan-2014 to 17-Mar-2015.
how can i achieve this with the above script?
    cheers

We are facing this error with few mailboxes which are exclusively in one DB under one Storage Group & the mailbox is on EX001 with Exchange 2007 SP1

I understand this is a permission issue and i have tried all of the below
    1. The user doing the export is a member of local administrator group in both source and target machine.
    2. the user doing the export is granted the exchange administrator role on EMC in both the source and target machine.
    3. Given full access permission to the username moving the mailbox to PST
    4. given receive-as permission to the username moving the mailbox to pst
    5. Given genericall access to the DB
    6. Create a New User account (EX: ExportAdmin)
Add this account to a Exchange Server Administrator Permission Both Source and Target Exchange Mailbox Server
Add this account to Local Administrators Group Member Both Source and Target Exchange Mailbox Server
Make sure this account DO NOT HAVE ANY Domain Admin/Exterprise Admin permission(Just keep Domain User group permission)
Assign Mailbox Full Access to this account by follow Cmdlet
    Get-Mailbox -Server "EX-CCR" | Add-MailboxPermission -User ExportAdmin -AccessRights FullAccess
Runas with ExportAdmin account (Open EMC)
    Get-Mailbox -Server "EX-CCR" | Export-Mailbox -PSTFolderPath
    Done
    7. On the DB, we set the retention to 0
however none of the above has helped me resolve my issue.

  • Exchange 2010 Export Mailbox to PST using only .EDB file

I have Exchange 2010 SP2 Update Rollup 4, SBS 2011 (which is similar to Server 2008 R2). I have recently recovered from a server crash due to a faulty RAID controller and need to recover some e-mail (and possibly contacts) from a couple of mailboxes.
My main concern is that my old .edb file is in a old forest that is different than my current forest. Due to the length of the old internal domain name having more than 15 characters (I previously migrated using a answer file) and my current internal
domain name is 15 characters.local they are different.
I also dont have the log files or STM file
With the two internal domain names being different will I still be able to follow this related topic:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/zh/exchange2010/thread/8f4eb425-72ff-4d18-abfc-5c00be7113e2
If not please let me know which direction I should be going. I know there are third part tools that can get this done but not in the budget right now.
    Teron

    Hi,Teron,
Cross forest export mailbox is not possible,if you have the old forest server still running you can export the mailbox in the old forest to PST file then import the pst file to your current forest.
Otherwise you should convert the edb file to PST with thirdparty tool as the above guys said.
Some additional information just for your reference.

  • Export mailboxes to PST (Exchange 2007)

    Hi All,
Is there an 'export-mailbox' cmdlet I can use to export each of the mailboxes in our mailbox database using the following file name format, so that the full smtp address is used as the filename of each the PST file exported:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    etc, etc
We are currently migrating to a cloud email provider and they have strict rules on processing PST files. The exchange database is only 65GB in size, so not that big in the grand scheme of things.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

Untamed, you sure can.  Here's the original code I sent:
    Get-Mailbox -Database <databasename> | Sort name | % {
        $MbxSmtp = $_.PrimarySmtpAddress.ToString()
        Export-Mailbox $MbxSmtp -PstFolderPath "\\Servername\Share\$MbxSmtp"
Note the first line, which ties the code to a single database.  You can change that line to focus on any group of mailboxes, even to a single mailbox.  Here's code for a single mailbox:
    Get-Mailbox <mailbox alias> | Sort name | % {
        $MbxSmtp = $_.PrimarySmtpAddress.ToString()
        Export-Mailbox $MbxSmtp -PstFolderPath "\\Servername\Share\$MbxSmtp"
    Here's code for an OU:
    Get-Mailbox -OrganizationalUnit <OU DN, as in "ADDomain.company.com/OURoot/SubOUName"> | Sort name | % {
        $MbxSmtp = $_.PrimarySmtpAddress.ToString()
        Export-Mailbox $MbxSmtp -PstFolderPath "\\Servername\Share\$MbxSmtp"

  • Export 2 specific folders from users A mailbox and transfer them to user B Via Powershell

    Hi
i know there is a simpler method for the user to export the folder within outlook as a PST file and send it to the other user to import... but
Is there a powershell command sequence i can use that will export folders from User A mailbox and import them into User B's mailbox remotely so they don't have to do anything.
    Many Thanks

i made some progress with the following
New-MailboxExportRequest -mailbox "User A" -includeFolders "User A\\TransferFolder" -Filepath \\server\serversubfolder\transfer.pst -verbose
    then using
New-MailboxImportRequest -mailbox "User B" -FilePath \\server\serversubfolder\transfer.pst -TargetRootFolder "Inbox" -includefolder "Transferfolder" -verbose

  • Export Mailbox from Exchange 2010 and Import to Exchange 2007

    Hello,
I exported mailbox (1GB in size) from Exchange 2010 to *.pst file; I need to import it into
Exchange 2007 mailbox. Is it supported ?
The operation completed successfully (no errors) but no items were imported; is it due to unsupported backward compatibility or some other issue ?
    Thank you,
    Luca

I also have the same issue. Exported mailboxes on Exchange 2010 SP3 latest updates using
New-MailboxExportRequest and then tried to import into mailbox on Exchange 2007 SP3 with latest updates. The 32-bit client machine used for the import has Outlook 2010 SP1 (SP2 and later updates causes a different error). I used Outlook 2010 because the E2K10
New-MailboxExportRequest documentation states that you have to use Outlook 2010 or later. The PST files created can be opened and imported via Outlook but not with the
Import-Mailbox cmdlet (with no error as stated in this thread). Other PSTs, not created from E2K10 export do import just fine. I also ran ScanPST.exe against the exported PST and then ran the import again and it worked, everything got imported. Interestingly
the test mailbox PST file I was using was 761 KB but after the ScanPST it was 1,257 KB - must be some difference in the PST format that the Import-Mailbox cmdlet can't deal with.
Does anyone have any other solutions or
workarounds to this. I've got over 900 mailboxes I need this for due to an
acquisition? Has anyone tried using Outlook 2013 on the machine used for doing
the Exchange 2007 imports or does Outlook 2013 also have the same issue as later versions of Outlook 2010 (Exchange Mailbox import failed with error code 2147221233)?

  • Export Mailbox to .PST

    Hello,
I wish all contents(Send,Receive,..etc) older than '06/21/2014' from all mailboxes should be exported to pst.
What to include additional to this cmdlet -
    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox <alias>
    -FilePath "\\Server\ShareFolder\<alias>.pst"
    Please Guide.
    Few details-
Name of Test mailbox - Demo
    Mailbox Created on 06/10/2014
    1) When I use the normal cmdlet,
New-MailboxExportReuqest -Mailbox Demo -FilePath "\\Server's IP\ShareFolder\Demo.pst it generates a pst of
    1505 KB.
    2) When I use the cmdlet specifying today's date (For maximum output)
    New-MailboxExportReuqest -Mailbox Demo -ContentFilter {(Received -lt "07/23/2014")} -FilePath "\\Server's IP\ShareFolder\Demo.pst
it generates a pst only of 265 KB. (It means something is wrong somewhere)
    3) Now the Strange thing is, the mailbox is created on 06/10/2014 (1.5 months old), when I use the cmdlet specifying the far previous date (3 months old)
    New-MailboxExportReuqest -Mailbox Demo -ContentFilter {(Received -lt "04/23/2014")} -FilePath "\\Server's IP\ShareFolder\Demo.pst
it again generates a pst of 265 KB. (It means something is wrong somewhere again)
    Please Guide.
    Thanks, Divyaprakash Koli

    Hi,
I tested in my lab, the result is the same with yours.
I created a test mailbox, then I sent some messages to this mailbox and created some sub-folders under Inbox folder.
Then I run the New-MailboxExportRequest cmdlet to export to .pst file with specifying the date, no items existed before this date.
As a result, the size of this .pst file is 265KB which is the same with yours. I imported it to another new mailbox successfully, there were no items in this mailbox, but there were the same sub-folders under Inbox folder, the folder structure was the same.
After that, I delete the sub-folders in the original mailbox, then exported to a .pst file, the size of this .pst file was still 265KB.
Based on this test, it seems that the size of .pst file is a fixed value 265KB, if there are no items exported.

    Hello jwmms,
You can use this command to do that:
    Get-mailbox| add-mailboxpermission -user "jesse.sams" -AccessRights fullaccess
    Add-MailboxPermission

  • Mail deleted all of my POP3 account mailboxes

So I woke up yesterday to find that 2 email accounts (POP3 accounts), their mailboxes and all of their messages gone in Mail.app Version 3.6.
My Mobile Me account is the only mailbox that is still there. The missing accounts are still synced on my iPhone though. So I've been emailing from that the past day.
Does anyone know what happened here?
I have Time Machine running, perhaps if it's a preference file or something I can restore it from the backup?
I'm a little freaked out because the 2 email accts that disappeared are for my freelance business and have a lot of important info in them. So, in addition to setting up the accts again, I need to recover the stored messages in those mailboxes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Restore the com.apple.mail.plist file, after checking at Home/Library/Mail that the two POP Account folders are present. Quit Mail before restoring the file, btw, then relaunch. Probably only the preference file got overwritten for some reason, but since MobileMe is also in System Preferences, it was automatically restored.
Did anything happen to interrupt Mail's completion of housekeeping tasks, or did free disk space get low for some reason. How much free disk space do you have the hard drive, or if partitioned, on the boot partition? If a lot, would you have been using any video or audio apps that temporarily use lots of space?
