Export maps from PI 1.3

Is it possible to do an export of a map that is already in PI ? If so, can you relay the details?

It is possible to export the maps from PI.
In classic view of PI go to
Monitor > Site Maps then from the drop down click on export maps.

How to Import exported mapping in SAP XI

Hi,
If u import any objects then ur file be .tpz extension. I m surprised how ur file extension is .xim extension.
have u followed the same process which is mentioned below:
1) tools->export->select->FTP/CMS-> selct whole SWCV,individual objects,namespace and finish.
after whole process it will give the .tpz file name u need to take the file from that FTp server and u need to follow the reverse process in IR.
Import:
tools->import->ans go on.

No response when export EXCEL from Mapping in FDM

Dear All,
I am using FDM 11.1.1.3. And, install as usual.
I cannot export Excel from Mapping in FDM.
The screen is just keep waiting for long long time.
How to fix it? Thanks for all.

We did have a bug in older versions of smartview where it was not possible to deinstall it. Smartview was removed but any attempt to install a new version failed. This was because Smartview creates a Registry entry in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer
and adds the key
C:\DOCUME~1\USERNAME\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is3EA\
which then prevents any newer version of SmartView to be installed
I looked on my machine and the is3EA file does not exist, however there is an installer file called isA.exe
The registry entries for smartview are found under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion Smartview - maybe you could try deleting these entries? --> solution works.

How to set EXPORT parameter from message mapping

Again, ask the question of export parameter.
I wrote a java version transformation and it worked good with export parameter.
However I can not work it out in graphical message mapping. I refered http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/c3e1fa6c31599ee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm.
In PI7.1, I add an export parameter "EXPORT_PARA" in the "Signature" tab. Are there any special step to assign this parameter to an UDF? I did not find a way to do it.
And then I define an UDF,

If use this code:

the export parameter is defined locally (in transformation step area). In integration process area parameter is equal to NULL.
How send export parameter to Integration Process? For exapmple, i wanna send parameter to other transformation step in my integration process.

Not been able to export data from FDQM to target system

Hi,
Am not been able to export data from FDQM to my target system which is Hyperion Enterprise 6.4
I have imported, Validated the mapping but as soon as i click on export after creation of the export file the system throws an error as "*Error: Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one* *another*". Also am pasting the error log down below

Hello,
Is it possible that the entity that you are loading to in Enterprise is locked? It appears that it may be per the below error. You can only load to unlocked intersections, so I would start by checking the catagory and entity combination for being locked.

Unable to Export data from Forms in 11.5.10.2

Hi All,
When I am trying to export data from a Form, the output is not appearing on my desktop to save or view for further processing. When I click on File-->Export link, a screen appears for a fraction of second and then disappears automatically.

When I am trying to export data from a Form, the output is not appearing on my desktop to save or view for further processing. When I click on File-->Export link, a screen appears for a fraction of second and then disappears automatically.Please add the application URL to the trusted sites list from the browser.
Also, make sure all pop-up blockers are disabled.
And it is generating the below error file in my desktop.Is this the same error you get in the Jinitiator/JRE console window? -- How to enable tracing and logging for Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) [ID 549423.1]
Please make sure no errors are reported in the database file log.

Upload infomation about mapping from say BW/BI system

Hi,
Double click on Transformation Mapping -> Go to Extras -> Tabular Overview-> Right Click - > Export to Microsoft Excel.
You can also save the transormation as JPG file (Click on Button -> Save as JPG -> from left ) and attach that in the mapping document.

How do we migrate the OWB mapping from one server to another server?

Here is my situation.
Source server
================
Project name : SOURCEOWB
Under this project, we have two module(MBTSOURCE, MBTTARGET).
In connection explorer, the locations are DW_MBT_SR, DW_MBT_TR.
We have 15 mappings on this project.
Source schema name is TXMBT_DW.
Target schema name is MBTTX_DW.
I want to migrate the whole thing to new server.
Here are the info about target location. After migrating to new server, i need to rename
as below.
Project name : CA_SOURCEOWB
Under this project, we have two module(CA_MBTSOURCE, CA_MBTTARGET).

Here are my steps i followed.

1. Created the source and target schemas in new machine.
2. Create a new workspace
3. Export the mapping with dependent objects from source server and imported in new server.
4. changed the source and target location successfully.
5. Renamed the project namd, module names as i needed successfully.
But only issue is, i am not table to change the location name.
Again, i tried the below steps.
1. uninstall the workspace and create the workspace
2. create source and target locations as i needed(CA_DW_MBT_SR,CA_DW_MBT_TR).
3. import only mapping
4. Able to register the mapping
Here i am not able to configure the module for newly created locations.
I right clicked on module and click Configure, go to Stream Administrator and not able to find
the source and target locations over there.....
How do we resolve this?
My data warehouse is runing for each state. I want to copy one state mapping and import into
another state and customize the mapping. I have hard time to change the location name. Because,
location name has state code. I can not use the same location name for all other state.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Hello Oleg, Thanks for your input.. It helps... but the problem is not completly solved.
let me explain my whole steps. Plesae review and let me know if i missed anything.
1. Created new workspace. the workspace is successfully created.
2. Login to new workspace.
3. Go to Locations, create source location(entered host name,username, password etc)
4. Created target location(entered host name,username, password etc), go to db connector on target location, created new db connector and linked the source location here.
5. Exported mapping and import into new workspace.(I can not use the location name in the exported workspace).
6. Renamed the project name, module name as i needed.
7. Double click the module name under Oracle and changed the meta data location and data locations.
8. Right click on soure and target module and click configure, change the the location and streams administrator.
9. Right click on mapping and go to configure, go to table operators and change the location as i need.
10.Right click on target module(under oracle), click generate. On this step, i get the below error
VLD-1141: Internal error during mapping generation.
Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsExeception
11. Go to control center, register the source and targert and followed the step 10. I get the same error.
I am almost close to complete this task. But i got stuck in the last step.

4:3 Export Query from Premiere Cs4

Hi there.
Im looking for some advice on best export setting from premiere please.
Basically I am making some visuals for a 12x9 screen and the visuals have to fit exactly onto the screen as there is a certian degree of mapping going on. I am editing using the project settings DV PAL 48khz
I'm wondering is it better to export as
720x576 (D1/DV pal 1.0940)
or
768x576 (square pixels 1.0)
I am a bit confused as to which will fit exactly to a 12x9 screen
I will be playing the visuals Directly from my laptop via Vga cable.

Sorry I dont understand. Do you mean the resolution of my source media?
It is all of varying sizes and resolutions but I am editing in a 720 x 576 sequence.All of the footage is being scaled up or down (depending on the size) to fit exactly (hopefully) the 12x9 screen
I Have put in a 4:3 guide frame in the preview window to lay clips on. This leaves a small black border at either side as a I am not editing in a 4:3 sequence I suppose.

Copying maps from dev to prod

I am working on a "move to production" process which will accomodate a major release
as well as minor enhancements/bug fixes.
I have one project and two modules - development and production. I will be using
unix shell scripts and sqlplus_exec_template to exec maps.
I make ddl changes outside of owb and import them into the development or production modules.
In the design repository, I am wondering what is the best way to "copy" maps from
development to production???
I have tried the manual "copy" within the design repository client and found it
generates no errors but lots of warnings.
VLD-1008 referenced mapping column <x> does not exist
VLD-1003 reference <x> between mapping object and repository object does not exist
I can deploy the map with these warnings and when executed it populates tables
correctly in the production environment.
Should I worry about the warnings?
I haven't tried export/import yet - my impression is that this is not for just one
or two maps. And will I get the same warnings?

You may want to rethink how you manage development and production. There are a few reasons ...
- When you copy a mapping from one module to another in the same repository, the operators inside the mapping will have to be reconciled to remove those warnings
- In the GUI, you can only copy one object at a time
- You can't compare objects between development, production, and any other environments you have.
You probably want to consider using snapshots as decribed in the "mature phase" in the case study.
At my company, we are using the initial phase to control changes. We have a Design Repository for each environment and each environment has multiple modules. As in your situation, our DDL is defined outside of OWB and we import object definitions into the repository.
Anyway you go, it'd be a good idea to make use of OMBPlus to automate some processes (creating/restoring snapshots, export/import mdl, reconcile maps to objects, deploying maps, etc).

As you can see, it is though the continue statement is not working.
I want to be able to use varying communities to allocate an RT.
If the continue statement does not work, then I would need to allocate a community based on every permutation possible, which is allot.

Hi Adam,
The "continue" keyword in a route-map forces the router to look at the next route-map sequence instead of stopping in the event of a match, as per normal route-map operation.
In your example, you are making a match in sequence 10, the continue keyord will kick in and sequence 20 will be looked at, however, since you are matching on the same sequence of that prefix-list, the extra extcommunity will not be applied that you have requested in sequence 20.
To get around this and acheive what you are trying to do, you can add both RT's to your route-map in sequence 10:

As you can see, the router assigns the two RTs to that 1 prefix you are matching on.
If you are going to be adding more sequences to that same prefix-list, then yes you the "continue" keywork would work fine as the next route-map sequence would be matching on the next prefix-list sequence where it hits a match:

Export map on a vrf

With the following config, does it export only the 10.2.3.3/32 route with
the 114.3.1.1:4 RT set ? Or does all routes from the vrf get exported
(because there is no set extcommunity statement below the
route-map) ?? My intention is to export only that route from the vrf..

The intent is this: the VRF hosts a management site and our customer wants to export only specific routes from the management hub site to the spokes....enough for them to get to the mgmt site. We had cupla options - using ACLs vs prefix-list and chose the prefix list per customer request due to perf reasons (see my last post).
I;m curious to know how you'd control this via redistribution. So under my PE-CE redistribution to my mgmt site, I'd then have to throw away 'other routes' ? I'd end up using route-map there too right ? it'd just be a different place (instead of "export map" under my "ip vrf" then it'd be under say my "router bgp" ??)

Export map to Excel dates issue

Hi,
I created an export map exporting several dates fields.
the problem is that the format is not the same:
Finish date format was: dd-mm-yy
Finish1 date format was: mm-dd-yy
in MSP itself I see both formats the same (dd-mm-yy)

Yuval,
The version number your show for Project looks like it is not updated with SP2 and it should be. Although the version number you show for Office looks like it may be updated with SP2, you need to check. In both Project and Excel, go to File/Help. On the
right side of the screen under find "additional version and copyright information". Click on that. If you do not see SP2 listed as part of the version number, then that application is not updated. All updates can be downloaded from: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ee748587.
Until you can verify that everything is updated it is pointless to guess about a problem.
After verifying that both Project and Excel are fully updated, try exporting a new Project file into a new Excel file. Does the problem still occur?
