Export movie is slow... but why Send to Compressor is so much faster!)

I have a question. I had a about 60 seconds long animation to render and as usual, I just whent to Share > Export Movie and wondered how on earth it can take more than 30 minutes to render... After 20 minutes and estimate time was still rising, I just clicked cancel.
Then, for some reason I clicked Send to Compressor and suprized how much faster it rendered! Same file, same settings and same output took only 6 minutes!!! Why???

Good question... I didn't think of that. I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, both made by Apple. My friend has a wired keyboard and mouse, plus an external hard drive. I am using wireless internet and my router is about two feet from my computer, and my friend is using wired internet. He has DSL, I have cable. He has a printer connected, and I have one connected to my router.
I know some of those details may be irrelevant... If you need any more information, just ask.

Have you tried powering off and then back on your router?
You can try:
- Reseting the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-Resetting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings.

Printer slows desktop and laptop. Upon removal both much faster. Help?

Recently both desk (Internet 7, 64 bit) and laptop (Vista Basic 32 bit) running much much slower. Tried cleaning up both. Finally removed All in One HP 6500 from laptop and it ran much faster! Reinstalled, and much slower again. What is happening? I can't find any updates to fix the problem?

There's a link here to another thread describing the same problem you are experiencing with 100% CPU utilization. Their solution was to disable the hpqtra08.exe process from loading at startup (using msconfig).

Export in Premiere CS6 is very slow, but why?

I work with a
Intel i7 3770k @ 3.5 GHz
16GB RAM
GeForce GTX 560 TI
2TB RAID-0
In this project I did the color correction via After Effects and replaced the clips in the Premiere Pro timeline with AE Compositions after I edited them.
Now when exporting it takes about 2,5 hours for a 12 minute video. The cpu only works on 22% and the ram on 35-40%
That never happened before. A 12 min video took about 30 minutes to export and the cpu was at 100%. Why not now? Is that because of the links to the AE Compositions as it's the first time I work with these?
How can I provide more cpu power to the exporting process?

Exported movies have sound but no picture

Anyone else having this issue? After exporting a movie, there is sound but no picture, just a black screen...

I was able to successfully export a clip that was originally a .mov file. It seems that anything else I import will only export with a blank screen.

Exporting movies or videos but no audio (sound)

I recently bought the quicktime pro 7 which I was told by comp.usa, would work. It took me awhile to export the video to my Ipod but still can't get any audio. Anyone have any solutions? They made it sound so easy at the store,lol.

I had the same problem as you. I tried exporting my movies but quicktime bailed on me so I decided to give Videora a shot and it works. I converted my .avi to .mp4 and then manually add the .mp4 movie into my iPod. It comes on just fine. Sound and video just works great.

How do I export movie with slow motion & captions?

FCExpress does not export MPEG2. Never has.
You will have to export another format and then convert it to MPEG2 using Compressor, which is available in Final Cut Studio; or you could use ffmpegx except I don't believe it's been updated since Tiger (OS X 10.4) and there have been reports that it only installs with difficulty on 10.5 or 10.6. Read the ffmpegx download instructions carefully before starting an install.
Another thing - you do know that your EOS Rebel shoots H.264 video, right, and you will have to convert that to QuickTime Apple Intermediate Codec before you import it into FCE ... MPEG Streamclip is a great utility to use for that purpose.

The Nightly build is so much faster than Firefox, and the download feature is much better than the download feature in Firefox.

The Nightly build (22.0a1) is updated daily and has the latest code fixes and thus may be unstable.<br />
This version is meant for experienced testers only to check out new code and to see if it if working properly before it will be added to a release version, so it may be faster to some extend.
You should always install such an alpha (Nightly or Aurora) or beta release alongside of a the current release in case of problems (a lot of times websites may be broken).

Why is New to Java so much faster than Java Programming?

It feels like the New to Java server is at my neighbor's house, and Java Programming is on Neptune. What gives? It always takes like 10 seconds to load the Java Programming board.

I've noticed that, too. I've attributed it to message volume, since there are so many more messages under that category.
Maybe the database doesn't have an index, or perhaps they bring back LOTS of entries and cache them. Who knows?

What kind of processing does "export" do? (i.e., why the huge size reduction of the .mov?)

I have a .mov video I imported into imovie 11. All I did was add a title bar at the beginning. The original video size was 2.35GB. The exported .mov is 985MB. Why the size reduction? What processing happens on export? Does it affect quality. It was originally 1080p, 24 fps, .mov file from my video camera.

iMovie converted your file to a "more compressed" codec on export. Most likely when iMovie imported your video file, it converted your video file to AIC, a native codec that iMovie works with comfortably on high definition video (before importing into iMovie, your video file could be also quite small). AIC file takes a lot of space. Exported video files are for viewing, not for editing, so by default iMovie compresses the file to reduce the size. In fact you can change the default settings on export in iMovie (in menu "Share", "Export using Quicktime...").
Yes it affects quality, but usually you won't notice the difference. It depends on your viewing facility. Unless you have a high-end projector with 150' high-end screen, or a great video card with Eizo monitor, don't bother. In any case, you can always adjust the iMovie export settings to satisfy your eyes.

Problems when trying to test/export movie

Hello. I'm working with Flash CS3. When I test a scene, all
work just fine, but when I try to test movie, or export the swf
file the process stops suddenly and nothing happens.
Do you know what might be causing this? I already tried to
uninstall flash player and intall previous versions as well, but
not working. Yesterday, I managed to export movie just once, but
now is seems permanent!!
In my fla file I have 9 scenes and the file size is about
50mb.

If your entire file size is 50 MB, your exporter is likely
just running really slow. Think of it like rendering a video, the
more stuff you have the longer it takes to export. Flash often
appears "non-responsive" during the export if there is a lot of
processing that has to happen. It may even slow your computer down
a bit. I suggest trying to wait for a while (like up to 10 minutes)
for the export to finish, before determining it is actually
unresponsive.
My Flash CS3 also slows down sometimes, when have a lot of
programs open and using RAM, the export sometimes slips into
unresponsive mode, but then comes back on around 30 seconds to 1
minute later. My file size is < 1MB too, so patience may be your
saving grace.
Another option would be to make a new swf player, that can
load each of the 9 scenes as separate swfs. This may be better for
you in the end anyways, as 50 MB is VERY large for the web. Then
you could export each scene individually as its own swf, and load
those swfs as needed into a player.

Export progress bar shows, but no SWF appears

i've been through tech support and about 100 different sites with this issue but nothing seems to help. I'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine. I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working. Can anyone help me figure this out?
FYI - I put the file on my Mac and it works fine there. I can export, make changes, debug, anything I like. It's just on my windows work machine.

Why send it in for the whine?

i got a 2.16 and have a whine noise also, but why send it in now when apple doesnt even know the source, im sure people are saying its the logic board or whatever but thats not tottally confirmed. nobody knows for sure if its a hardware problem or software problem, and if it was a hardware problem you still have a year to get it fixed or 3 years with apple care. so i dont think i'll be sending mine baack, the whine is not all that bad on mine. i think if your sending yours back now, you won't be gettin it back for a long time. who has got theres back?

I called about the CPU whine on Friday and after a while was told to send it in for repair. However after reading more info later in the day, and checking a bunch of MBPs at dealers this weekend I don't intend to send it in. The display whine is something that is known and can be fixed. But the CPU whine seems like it's common to all the ones I've seen. I don't think sending it in will make any difference at all. I'll wait and use the mirror widget trick for now and hope Apple can fix it with a software update or wait until there's a known hardware fix for it. Right now it seems like the bulletin that went out to dealers says the CPU is expected, normal, and that replacing hardware won't change it.

Can't export .MOV in AE cc render queue, But I can Export .MOV using Media Encoder cc

I get “[file path and name].mov”. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464) when trying to export .mov using AE cc render queue but works fine in media Encoder cc. My problem is that i need to export animation with alpfa channel for a client and cannot find an alpha channel option in media encoder.

To export with an alpha channel in Adobe Media Encoder, choose "32 bit" from the Depth menu under the Video tab in the export settings. (That refers to 32 bits per pixel: 8 each for R, G, B, and A.) Of course, that option is only available if the codec can include an alpha channel, such as with the Animation codec in a QuickTime container.

Probably because you have the free version of Flip4MAc from Telestream that limits exported files to 30 seconds or so. There ae several paid versions – depending on your requirements
