Export MPEG Preview, I-frame codec

I'm using Premiere Pro CS6 with a Creative Cloud subscription. I've set up a project to match the MPG settings of my NEX5N camera, IE MPEG I-Frame at 1440x1080, 25P. If I set up an export by "matching sequence settings", those same settings show up in the export, though they're grayed out and can't be modified. This gives me great speed for exporting, since everything stays native.
I'd like to set up a similar export, but at 720P settings for the web. However, I can't find MPEG Preview as one of the export settings, even though it pops up when I match the sequence settings. How can I find this export setting? I'm on a Macbook Air with Mountain Lion, by the way. Thanks!

Dont use Match Sequenc Settings it gives you a preview codec which you do not want.
Best is to use a preset or set everything manually.
Look under H.264 for a 720p25 preset.

getting red frames when export from cc 2014.2 codec used panasonic mxf format long GOP 50p. If any solution please help on that

i solve my red frame problem. originally my project was done in premiere pro cc 2014.2 & i render in Encoder cc 2014. in newer version i get lots of red frames. i complain a lot to adobe customer support . they said they know the issues but they couldn't solve. I was so tired from adobe customer support. one of the worse customer services i had. My friend got the mac pro & e got premiere pro cc 7.2 version. i convert all my footage mxf to mp4 in encoder cc 7.2 version and i succeed. i don't get any red frames.
So i think the problem is in adobe encoder cc 2014.2 version. newer version.

  • Settings for good/successful MPEG-2 I-frame encode

I've been having problems with Lagarith throwing junk frames when trying to encode to an intermediary AVI; using Vista Business/Ultimate 64, DV sequence with mixed XDCAM EX and DVCAM footage and uncompressed AVI renders from AE. The bad frames happen randomly (though rather infrequently) and in any of the footage types, so it's hard to rule out any of them as the source of the problem. I'm just going to assume it's an issue between Lagarith and AME, and move on from there.
Since I have quite a few timelines I'm exporting, and I'm doing all my end-product encoding in Squeeze as well as other apps, I need a good intermediary. I remember some talk on the board of using an MPEG-2 I-frame only 4:2:2 encode for this purpose; however, a search is not giving me much joy. So far, I'm having some inconsistent output issues with this format. Can anyone offer some advice as to good setting to use for this purpose?
    Thanks!

Yes, I'm running 1.3.19. I thought it was happening on just my primary editing workstation, until I ran 10 encodes on my laptop and got the same random issue. I'll have to post a frame to show you what I mean. If it was repeatable, I could try and diagnose the issue, but the garbage happens randomly.
I'm running the 64-bit version of the codec--at least I think I am. It seems to me that the installer copies the 64-bit version of the codec to the System32 folder, and the 32-bit version to the SysWOW64 folder. Also, if you right-click on the DLL and check the file properties, the version states as 1.3.18; the actual interface when you select Codec Settings in an app, however, shows 1.3.19. Very peculiar...
Note that this only seems to be happening when exporting a timeline through AME. I can encode to an AVI from AE, and haven't been able to reproduce the bug.
I'm trying to get some information together, and I'm going to try contacting the codec author. He seems very receptive to bug reports, based on the changelogs on the Lagarith website.

  • I am trying to export a video I have made in FCP 10.0.8 to Youtube or to a master file and I keep on getting an error -50, or "error exporting master file at frame 20074" Any ideas?

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine.  I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing.  Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error.  It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in.  Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Gerry

    Hi Russ,
Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec.  I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app.  Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Wrong aspect ratio or size when exporting Pal anamorph with ProRes codec!

    Hi community,
I have a problem exporting a spot in the right format. The customer/the upload service provider needs PAL anamorph 16:9 in ProRes codec.
When I export my FULLHD spot to these setting, the aspect ratio/the spot size turns out wrong. When opened in QT Pro the size is 720x576, what is correct, but the anamorph size quotet in brackets reads different values, for example 1020x576 but never 1024x576, what would be correct.
The service providers online software refuses to work with these wrong nunmbers...!?
The same export settings with QT Animation codec is correct. Also when exporting the same composition with two export modules, the Animation codec is OK, the ProRes codec is wrong. No matter whether I export a PAL-format comp or stretch it while exporting the FullHD comp.
    Working with After Effects CC.
    Any ideas?

Don't resize the output but instead drop your full HD comp in a standard PAL widescreen comp, fit the HD comp horizontally and then render the new comp without using any resize controls.
Second option, Render your full HD comp to a frame based production master codec (prorez) and then use the Adobe Media Encoder and setup a PAL Widescreen Square Pixel preset. Here's my Pal Widescreen Prorez 422 HQ preset. It is what I use for all requests for Pal ProRez from my clients.

  • HDV exports cause overlayed interlaced frames

Recently we've started shooting with a Canon XH A1 in 1080/50i. We capture as HDV and the footage looks stunning in FCP. But when we export (tried various formats and codecs) the resulting movie have every frame being a combination of its two interlaced frames - not sure if thats the right way to describe it, but the following still shows it pretty well.
    http://www.fatsand.com/videos/DoubleFrames_Test_v1still.jpg
The following video shows it too. THe first half is a clip exported normally, the second half is the same clip but de-interlaced in FCP - which works fine.

But I don't want to have to de-interlace all my footage, otherwise I might as well have shot in 25p!
Anyone else have this issue - I can't see what else I can do in FCP, but should I be doing something else during capture or even when filming?

  • Compressor 3 no audio when export mpeg 2 ts

I imported a .mov files to compressor 3, but there are no audio when I export Mpeg 2 TS(by default setting)...
    (1) I can hear audio on preview
    (2) export no matter extentions m2t or mpg , no audio.....

the mpeg2 files mux (mix) the audio & video together in one stream.
To work with the files in FCP, you must demux them. The application MPEG Streamclip can do this for you. Google it, it's free.

  • Adobe Design Premium exporting MPEG II

I am working on a client PC.  They have adobe design premium cs5.5 (a version of the CS package I am not familiar with).
it is running on windows 7 64 bit professional.
They want to export MPEG II (for DVD) and H264 versions of files from a quicktime LT master.
I am seem to have very limited export setting available within media encoder, and no MPEG II.  Any suggestions on whether this is a set up problem, a legacy codec not included in adobe design premium 5.5 or some other problem which I have not thought of?

Design Premium products have limited version of AME that doesn't support many format.  For 5.5, you need to have Premiere Pro, Production Premium or Master Collection to get access to full export options including MPEG II.  Since those products no longer are available for sale, your client can subscribe to Creative Cloud Complete 2014 (or Premiere Pro CC 2014) which gives them latest AME that allows MPEG II encoding.  https://creative.adobe.com/plans

  • Exporting library assets to frame 1 causes delay

I'm fairly new to Actionscript 3, just trying to puzzle something out.
I have several small movie clips saved in the library of myCS4 Flash.fla file, I want to make them available to dynamically add to the display list as children, based on the button clicks of the viewer. I can get it all to work fine via Symbol Properties > Linkage > Export for Actionscript.
BUT - When the movie clips are set to "export for actionscript" from the  Library, playback seems to hang on frame 1 until all of these  exported assets have downloaded. The big problem is that I have an ultra-simple but totally custom preloader/progress animation coded in a loop in the second and third frames, which kicks out to frame 4 and continues playback as soon as the download is complete.
Because of this, the preloader has essentially become useless - because all that can be seen is several seconds of empty stage, until the vast majority of the bulky assets have downloaded. Then the preloader flashes onstage for just an instant, and disappears because the content is already up.
    So, my questions are:
    A)  Is there a SIMPLE alternate method to load these library assets in such a way that it doesn't cause this major lag on frame 1?
    B)  Failing that, I suspect I may have to retool my preloader to run as an ENTER_FRAME event in frame 1.  Is this worth the effort (can this potentially resolve the lag issue and allow for a meaningful preload progress animation, despite the lag from the asset export?)
Any advice, thoughts, ideas (sample code?) would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance,
    </a>
    **Edit follows**
OK, so after a little more research, I have basically answered this question for myself. I'm updating the post for the benefit of others who may find themselves in my shoes somewhere down the road.
The solution (as far as I can see) is to pretty much just avoid using the "Export for Actionscript" option for exporting assets to the timeline, as much as possible. Maybe it's fine for a few small assets, but not the best choice for large stuff, which in my case was the lions' share of the content!!
Or at least don't use the default setting of exporting to frame one!!  This will likely foul up ANY preloader, because essentially Flash player will not display any of the content on frame one until ALL of the content on that frame has fully downloaded - You'll be stuck staring at an empty stage for ages, then when the preloader finally does show up on the stage and run, it will zip by in an instant while (probably) doing its job properly, but it's really only updating on the load progress of the balance of the SWF file.
The info I found suggested one easy method of making the assets available to Actionscript -- simply just place all of the required library assets into some unseen frame in the timeline, shortly AFTER your preloader runs.  Then Flash Player will load them after the preloader has done its thing, and they will be available to be accessed by Actionscript later in the timeline when you really need them.
Also FYI -- I also tried changing the export settings to have Flash export the assets in question in frame four instead of frame one, with the unfortunate and unexpected result that my published SWF began skipping playback directly to frame four, which also effectively killed my preloader (which was running in frames two and three.) This glitch remained, even after reverting the export setting back to export the assets in frame one!!  It seems like my .FLA file was irreversibly altered (contaminated??) by changing the export frame setting?!?  Yikes!!
Luckily I had an earlier version saved under a different file name, it was relatively easy to go back to that version and bring it up to date.
Anyway - that's all for now. Hope this info can help someone else....

  • Full screen preview drops frames

    Hi all,
A continuation of the thread I opened here (with hardware specs for information):
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/657008?tstart=0
Whilst I resolved the tearing issue secribed in the previous thread I still can't get smooth playback on the third full screen preview display and I'd like some basic advice as to what I could do:
A couple of things I have tried - firstly I tried a basic sequence with a spinning graphic (in order to rule out any issues with disk/network access), and then also tried two screens rather than three (so only one graphic card was in operation), a 60p/30p project with screens set to 60Hz and a 50p/25p project with screens set to 50Hz.
All to no avail - the full screen preview drops frames, especially with 50p content - 25p is better but every 20 seconds or so frames are dropped. Audio is always fine, regardless of the source, BTW.
As a reminder, this is a 12 core i7 with 2 x Quadro FX3800, all unnecessary services disabled, 12Gb RAM, CS5 5.0.3, latest WHQL Nvidia drivers.
Not sure if 5.5 improves this in any regard as I'm still waiting for my licence key.
Video playback outside of premiere is perfect, 1080p50 plays fine full screen on any display through windows media player/VLC.
Any suggestions please - again I wonder if a Blackmagic Intensity or similar would help?
Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Could anybody have a go a reproducing the issue (a simple spinning or sliding jpg demonstates the issue easily and simply)
    Thanks all
    Sacha Goodwin.

There exist no 12 core i7's. The max is hexa-core, but in your previous thread you said Xeon X5670. So what is it?
Well spotted, my bad - it is indeed 2 x hexa-core X5670's - which of course is 12 cores in total.
I still suspect your Editshare NAS.
I'd say unlikely since - we've replaced it with something else, also:
I tried a basic sequence with a spinning graphic (in order to rule out any issues with disk/network access)
and at any rate I tried it as a local project on local disks and it made no difference.
For graphic read plain color matte and basic SD res JPG (same results with either)
What happens when you increase memory to 24 GB?
No idea as I don't have access to any - strikes me as odd though to think anyone would need 24Gb or RAM just to display a rotating still smoothly.
Premiere is showing 300Mb of RAM, total RAM in use when everything is loaded and running is 3Gb, 9Gb free sitting there twiddling it's virtual thumbs.
BTW I should also mention that this happens even on SD projects, not just HD ones. Also watching the task manager shows virtually CPU usage, no disk and no network access during playback (as I would expect). No peaks in any graphs correllating with the dropped frames. Also enabling/disabling MPE Hardware assist makes no difference.
    Sacha.

  • Lightroom 5 is not exporting my previews in the catalog, please help!

I purchased Lightroom 5 on Wednesday and had no problem exporting my images from a catalog that included previews and smart previews. Now it is having trouble exporting my previews. I'd tried restarting lightroom, trying different folder, I made sure all images were there, and still no luck. I would appreciate any help!

To be clear: Lightroom (without a plugin) can not (or should I say will not) export "plain" (lib) previews.
That said, if there is a smart preview, you should be able to export.
Are you saying there is a smart preview, but you can't export?
What about if there is NOT a smart preview - still a problem??

  • "Build and Export Cache" fails to export 100% Previews:

"Build and Export Cache" fails to export 100% Previews:
I am moving from Bridge CS5 to CS6 and have a very large number of 100% Previews in my CS5 cache.  The idea of regenerating all these 100% Previews in CS6 is NOT amusing.  It is amazing that there is not a simple import function for this task as a way to make the software upgrade more "seamless"… but apparently there is not.
I have read the Adobe documents:
"Bridge Help / Manage the cache | Adobe Bridge CS4, CS5"
"Creative Suite / Work with the Adobe Bridge cache"
Based on these documents, in Bridge CS5 I used the export function in
    Tools>Cache>Build and Export Cache…
        with "Build 100% Previews" checked
and "Export Cache To Folders" checked.
Unfortunately, the "Build and Export Cache" fails to export 100% Previews to the target directory.  They should appear in the target directory as hidden files in the format xxxxx.NEF.JPG.  Yes, I do know how to view hidden files in both the Finder and in Bridge.
In Bridge CS5 I tried Purging and rebuilding the Cache for the target directory with no luck.
I tried running "Build and Export Cache" in Bridge CS6….  still no hidden Preview files in the target directory.
My settings in both CS5 & CS6 Bridge - Preferences:
"Keep 100% Previews in Cache" is checked
"Automatically Export Cache to Folders When Possible" is checked
My settings in both CS5 & CS6 Bridge - Options for thumbnail quality and preview generation:
        "Generate 100% Previews" is checked
    Using OS X 10.6.8
    Anyone have a suggestion?????

Bridge is the only piece of software I have used, which incorporates a database, where new versions do not provide for importing the objects of the older version.  Very strange.
That is a very mildly conclusion but unfortunately until the cache strategy for Bridge is finally sorted out this problem will exist.
Now I have to confess that I can't use the 'Auto export cache when possible' for several versions now due to a rare problem that after the first time usage without problem created export cache almost every second time generates a warning message that due to failure it needs to replace the Cache T file, hence I deselected this option permanently.
I would think that if you have those already cached and exported files for 100 % preview in the dedicated folders it would read those files and add it to the database and central cache file when having pointed Bridge to that folder, but I'm far from sure about that.
Also after rereading your first post you state to expect the build and export cache to build also hidden files with the two extensions from original filetype followed by .jpg from cache in the folder itself (target directory)? Here I'm a bit lost. The mentioned double extension files only appear in the central cache folder and are visible but buried  in the subfolders for each quality in the central cache file at user library (default) or custom set location in Bridge prefs.
The exported cache to folder are hidden files and as long as I can remember that where 2 files already in the File browser (forgot the extension they used for this) and currently .BridgeCache (very small, few KB) and the for me problematic .BridgeCacheT file that can grow very large and has about the same size as the subfolder generated under full in the central cache.
I can see the content of the central cache without problem including the double extensions and previews of the files as thumbs in the Finder, jet with option to show hidden files I can see the CacheT file but only as a blank document icon and I can't find an application on my system to open this file to reveal its content.
Just tried it on a folder with small sized files and having set preview quality to HQ and 100 % preview (checkerboard icon in Path Bar) and then used the option from menu tools to build and export cache to folder including 100 %. Both subfolder in Central Cache and about same sized hidden CacheT file where generated without problems and the full preview was instantly on demand using magnifier. (but all this without the option in prefs to auto export to folder)
So to me it seems (if I understand everything correctly) that either the existing exported files from CS5 do cause the problem or your setup of CS6 is not working correctly.
Are we still on the same track or am I completely lost?

  • Can't export MPEG-2 with alpha matte

Can't export an .mpeg 2 with an alpha from after effects using media encoder. Is there a way to do this? The editor I am working with only accepts MPEG 2 for his lower thirds.
Unfortunately I do not have a choice of formats and have to export MPEG 2 with an alpha. Easy enough with QuickTime and .Avi but have not seen an option with MPEG 2 in either after effects or encoder.

    No prob's
    1. Ensure that compressor is installed on your system.
    2. Export the sequence as a Quicktime movie using sequence settings.
    3. Launch compressor and bring your exported sequnce in, now you can apply one of the presets and, over time, read the manual and understand all of the subtleties of compression.

  • No MPEG preview or playback in Bridge CS5

After doing a clean install of CS5, everything seems to work well except for Bridge.

When I double-click an AVI file, Bridge finds and uses Windows Media Player just fine.

    Hi Rick,
    Regarding br asc's reply:
can you purge the video file in thumbnail panel to get new thumbnail?
I can playback mpeg video in bridge on my windows 7 64bit machine.
I am not sure what you did or what exactly did br asc meant....  Anyhow, let me describe my problem and what I did to overcome it:
    My Problem:
In Bridge CS5 version 4.0.2.1, I am having problem previewing .MOV files.  My .MOV files are from various source such as iPhone, 5DII, 7D, 550D and a few camcoders.  The funny thing is some .MOV files preview ok while others not.  It is not source dependent either as I've checked, by that I mean something like I have two .MOV files from say, the 5DII, with exact same settings when recorded, why does one preview ok and the other not in Bridge CS5???
    What I did:
    (1)  In Bridge, go to menu
Edit > Preferences (or Crtl K for Wins), go to the File Type Associations (on left pan) and make sure QuickTime (.mov) is associated with your QuickTime Player on the right pan.
    (2)  In Bridge, go to menu
Edit > Preferences (or Crtl K for Wins), go to the Cache (on left pan) and click the [Purge Cache] button on the right pan to Purge All Cached Thumbnails and Previews.
After doing (1) & (2), I am able to preview every .MOV in Bridge CS5.
Not sure what I have done different to anyone else, but it seems to work for me.  Hope it helps...
