Export naming options by collection sequence number

My apologies if this was already discussed elsewhere but couldn't find an answer...
Here is the situation. I have many photos with names generated on import. They have sequence numbers based on the shooting. But sometimes I want to create a photo essay, composed of various images from different shoots. The way I proceed is I create a collection for my essay and add photos to it. I then order the files in the collection to reflect the order of the series. Then I want to export with a different file names. The name has to match the recepient's file format and is rarely related to my original file. In all cases, I want to add a sequence number at the end of the file that reflects the position of the image in the essay or series. Ex: PhotoEssay01.jpg, PhotoEssay02.jpg and so on. I then create an export preset but there is something lacking in the custom names options. I use the sequence number which is fine when I want to use the whole series. But when I want to re-export a file, say at position 4, the export starts back at 1 (PhotoEssay01.jpg) as there is only one image in this export batch.
I am trying to find a way to have the collection sequence number (not a term that exists), basically the position of the image relative to the collection I am working on. I have tried image # and total # without succes and the documentation is pretty unclear on the difference between the three numbering systems. I think it makes sense on import but I fail to see how to do that on export. I understand the export module does not care about how my grid was configured in the library view and cannot tell what is this image relative to the collection I am working on...
Has anyone encoutered that issue (must have) and how to workaround it?
I can change the sequence starting number in the export panel but it's annoying to have to go back to the panel each time just for that. Also, I wouldn't mind changing it in the export overwrite warning dialog if the Use unique Name allowed me to put a custom name. Now it just add -XX to the end of the file name...
I thought using a IPTC field that is available in the custom name dialog and add the number there for each image but it is kind of a hack...
Any ideas?
Thanks

OK. Me = silly.
You see, folks, the feature I wanted shows up when you export (Original or Version),an then chose to edit  the name format…

    What happened to the Export options?
    I had a preset that renamed my images in the format desired by my newspaper. Now, all I see is the ability to adjust the size, and the gamma (?)?
    Perhaps the options moved? I know! They moved the options over with the colored icons? Along with the missing socks from the dryer!
    And seriously. Aperture could export and name my pix like this:
    20120406_NCFE MSmakeitgreen1
    No mas?

  • Sequence Number By Date Option For File Naming

    I would like to see Lightroom have the option to have the sequence numbers be reset when the date changes and increment accordingly. For example, I have the file naming set to use Date (YYYYMMDD) Sequence Number (0001) and the sequence number starting at 1. As Lightroom is now I will end up with 200909010001, 200909010002, 200909020003, 200909020004, 200909030005 200909030006 etc. and what I would like to see is the option for 200909010001, 200909010002, 200909020001, 200909020002, 200909030001 200909030002.
    This would make it much faster for renaming or import when using this combination of date and sequence in file names.

    Hi
    For the Transport Protocol "File Transfer Protocol (FTP)" files are always processed in ascending alphabetical order
    If you want the file to be processed in sequence then you can use Quality of Service EOIO in the sender adapter.
    The files are processed in the sequence they are picked up.
    otherwise use BPM for File Sequencing..
    Refer the following Threads
    FTP Sender Adapter - Processing Sequence

  • Lightroom export sequence number automatic increment and update

    I'm exporting to hard disk using the name-sequencenumber option. When exporting multiple times, Lightroom does not seem to remember what sequence number it last used. Is there a configuration option somewhere to let Lightroom keep track of the sequence numbers used? For example, I have a set of 20 photos that I export. I set the name to X and the sequence number to 1000. So, the first export adds them to my destination folder numbers X-1000 through X-1019. Now, I import another batch of say 30 photos. When I go to export those, I get a warning that there are duplicate file names since Lightroom is starting over at 1000 again instead of 1020. I don't want to enter a new sequence number every time I export. Is there a way for Lightroom to remember the last sequence number it used?

    AFAIK, you have to enter the sequence number with every export.

  • The sequence number when exporting should represent stacks

    When exporting images, I would like the sequence number to apply to the first image in a stack, but the rest of the images in the stack should have the same number as the first one but with an extra suffix. Something like this:
    stack 1:
    DSCN0010.DNG
    DSCN0011.DNG
    DSCN0012.DNG
    stack 2:
    DSCN0013.DNG
    DSCN0014.DNG
    When exported, I would like them to be:
    DSCN0010.DNG --> "image-01.jpg"
    DSCN0011.DNG --> "image-01b.jpg"
    DSCN0012.DNG --> "image-01c.jpg"
    DSCN0013.DNG --> "image-02.jpg"
    DSCN0014.DNG --> "image-02b.jpg"

    Hi,
    The numbers in a CREATE SEQUENCE statement are all literals; no other kinds of numeric expressions are allowed.
    You need dynamic SQL to do anything like what you want. For example:
    COLUMN     seq_start_col     NEW_VALUE  seq_start
    SELECT     1 + MAX (val)     AS seq_start_col
    FROM     table_x;
    CCREATE SEQUENCE TEST_SEQ.NEXTVAL
    START WITH  &seq_start
    MAXVALUE 9999999999999999999999999999
    MINVALUE 1
    NOCYCLE
    CACHE 20
    NOORDER;

  • Export sequence number

    Is there a way to tell LR to pick the next number in the sequence when exporting a file in a folder where already sequence-numbered files exist? If I leave 1 it prompts me to overwrite the existing file.
    Thanks

    AFAIK, you have to enter the sequence number with every export.

  • Export Markers Naming Options

    Audition CS6
    Windows 7 64-bit
    I would love to see some more robust naming options when exporting markers to files.  The addition of prefix and postfix fields comes in handy, but it would be fantastic if I could create my own separator instead of being stuck with the underscore.  I frequently have to batch out my files, then open a second program to batch rename all of my files to simply remove or replace the underscores.
    As a bit of an after-thought.  It would also be wonderful to be able to modify the default name of my markers -- or to be able to find/replace across all marker names to for instance remove the word "Marker" and only leave the digits behind.
    Cheers.

    I regularly record IVR files that need to be exported into thousands of precisely-named wav files drawn from a table supplied by my client. In Sound Forge I can export the regions to a .csv, copy-past the new names in in Excel, import the same region list & export all 1000-plus renamed files in the time it took me to write this.
    I need the option to export a marker list or playlist to a text file or table, in Audition. It surely can't be that difficult.

  • Export to Folder as Collection Hierarchy

    Currently it is impossible to use the collection Hierarchy as the "folder structure" for the export.
    Maybe Adobe can consider adding in the Export Location section a new option like 'Put in Subfolder' called 'Put in Current Collection Folder' which will export the images to folders named after the collection hierarchy or have a parameter that can be used which will bring back the collection hierarchy as the folder.
    I would appreciate if Adobe can kindly comment on this or consider creating a function to check the collection set\collection associated with an image.

    I completely agree. Not having the ability to export or save to the same collection you are working on is a huge oversight.

  • Constraint names - Modeling Naming Options

    Can anyone advise me which group(under Model Options -> Naming Conventions) controls the max code length for the below in a physical data model.
    FK Constraints
    PK Constraints
    UK Constraints
    The context sensitive help from this window does not describe what physical objects some of these impact. For instance, I thought Reference would control FK Constraints, but it is not. I have FK Constraints being generated longer than 30 characters, which is the max that Oracle allows. Other objects is a catch all that I did not restrict to 30 as that then shortens lot of other things that I don't even know and might want to.
    I tried looking in the PD Meta model help under "Libraries -> PdPDM -> Model Options", but I don't understand much of what is described there.
    I have following in the Oracle 11g DBMS Resource file under the branch "ORA11GR1::Script\Objects\Reference\ConstName".
    I need this so that I have FK constraints generated with a sequence number suffix. Maybe the Model naming options don't apply when this is used and I need to figure out the syntax to chop the table name so that to 24 as FK_ and _1 will use up 6 characters in the constraint name.
    FK_%TABLE%_%REFRNO%

    Hi Stefan,
    It is still ending up generating Unique key constraint names longer than 30 characters.
    I do have a rule for constraint name creation as well.
    So right now in my Oracle 11 Resource file, I have this.
    ORA11GR1::Script\Objects\Key\ConstName    is set to UK_%TABLE%_%.U-18.1:AKEY%
    I am wondering if I should change it to UK_%U.25:TABLE%_%.U-18.1:AKEY%   so that it takes only 25 characters from table name and that is restricted to 30 characters max.
    I also have MaxConstLen at two levels and both are set to 30
    ORA11GR1::Script\Objects
    ORA11GR1::Script\Objects\Key
    It is getting really frustrating that I cannot get same results as I did with Erwin DDL generation. I wish SAP made it easy and had a setting for Constraint names in Model Naming options.

  • Please turn back sequence number to one in Batch rename

    In Bridge 2 the sequence number option has changed. It used to start automatically at 1 starting a new session. In the rare cases that there is one project in different sessions that needed to start with the following number of the last session I just needed to fill that number in.
    Unfortunately now it is the other way round. I'm used to sessions with a small number of photographs from the same session (I think that I'm not the only one in this).
    With the very useful and easy function batchrenaming set to date - text - sequence number the only thing I had to care about was the text, now I also have to fill in 1 as start number sadly enough, and this is in my opinion unnecessary time consuming :-(

    And so very, very easy to forget.
    This incrementing is a setting preferred by a minority of photographers, not the majority. It's quite handy if you shoot many, many cards worth of the same thing and load and rename whilst still shooting. Most photographers, i.e. those without assistants loading + naming images as they shoot, will do the opposite and when after a long day's shooting, having to remember to reset the sequence no. every time you rename some files is very easily overlooked and then a real pig to then redo correctly. Esp when tired.
    If it was an option fine, but as the default, duh!?

  • How to pass the sequence number of current loop in a for loop in FPGA vi to the host

    PCI-7830R
    LV 8.2
    What I was trying to do is to use multiple DIO to generate pulse at different sequence. Mode one is to automatically sweep from DIO1 to DIO20; mode 2 is several DIOs generate pulse simoutaneously.  So I use a case structure to make the selection, in the mean time, I set up two for loop in each case so that I can use multiple pulse generations. For example, in scanning mode, if I set 2 exposures, it sweeps from 1 to 20 then do it again.
    Then I need to get the loop sequence number, i of each scenario. So I put an indicator within the first loop, and create a local variable of it and put in the second one.  Running the FPGA vi alone, I can see the indicator change in each case from 0 to N-1, N being the for loop time.But in the host vi, I tried to add this indicator as an element in the read/write invoke method, in the debugging mode, I could only see it directly jump to N-1 without all the changes I saw in FPGA vi.
    Is it possible to get this number passed correctly from FPGA vi to the host vi? Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Jared.
    Excuse me if it looks incorrect, but I'm new to FPGA programming, so I would have to look into the FIFO you referred to.  I used local variables because for one thing I have several different cases containing for loop in each of them, and I only want one indicator for the "i".  If I put the indicator out of any for loop, it's only gonna show the last number which is N-1.  For the other thing, it seems like property nodes are not allowed in FPGA vi.  And by doing this, I can see the i number changing from 0 to N-1 in each case, well, in FPGA vi's front panel.  But while I ran the host vi with everything, the indicator in host vi's front panel only showed the last number N-1. It may be the reason you said, it happened too fast before the indicator in host vi can catch it.
    What I want to realize is to group the data I collect in host vi, for example, when I choose multiple exposure in each mode, and the FPGA runs 1 through 20 then do it again, I want the data stored in two groups using the loop sequence number as the seperator in file name.  So it goes like 1-1, 2-1.......20-1; then 1-2, 2-2,.....20-2.

  • Batch rename with minimum numeber of digits in sequence number

    I'm pretty sure I remember this working how I wanted in previous versions of Bridge, but at least since cs4, it has not worked as I would like. I've tried searching for an answer or a setting that I'm missing, but have come back empty-handed.
    Here's my situation. Let's say I'm renaming 18 files. Each file has a sequence number. I want the sequence numeber for the first 9 to be one digit, and for the second nine to be 2 digits.
    i.e. image_1.jpg, image_2.jgp, image_3.jpg...image_10.jpg, image_11.jpg...
    The best way I've found that I can do this is to select all 18 images, and assign a 2-digit sequence number. Then, once that is complete, select the first 9 and repeat, but with a 1 digit number.
    In the past, I could select all 18 images, and choose a 1 digit number, and after 9, it would switch to 10, instead of going back to zero. Is there still a way to do that? I know it's only one extra step, but that one extra step is actually kind of two, because each time I have to reset tho starting number back to 1 or 10, and switch the setting from 2-digits to 1-digit and back again. And I usually have to rename multiple groups of files at once, so it does add up. Granted, much better than renaming one at a time, but not as convenient as I feel it could be, and as it once was.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    iLan

    While I certainly can understand the way in which computers work, I also understand that in a program as complex as any of the components in Adobe's Creative Suite, there is most certainly a way to override the computer's numerical logic so that it can remove the initial "0" from a 2-digit number. Granted, that may not be possible in the current version of Bridge, theoretically it is "Possible". And I'm quite sure it functioned that way in previous versions, although I really don't know which version I was using when it worked that way. Maybe cs2?
    As a developer, the whole reason for this question is to avoid having to create extra code in my applications to add an unnecessary "0" to digits 0-9 in any filenames of any files I want to load. Although it looks as though adobe changed the default behavior of the batch rename function, and removed (or in some peoples' minds improved) some functionality without an option to get it back.
    Unfortunately for me anyways...
    Thanks for the help,
    ilan

  • System Extract - Incrementing a sequence number in detail record layout

    I have a system extract for a bank that requires a file header, batch header, detail, batch trailer and file trailer record. The detail record is at the run result level as I am looking to choose all records for a particular deduction (savings bonds) and I also have to put employee ssn and full name. This is working fine. I also have to put a sequence number, ie. detail record layout is record type, length 2, string, record sequence number, 5, ?????, employee SSN, length 9, field, employee full name, length 9, field. I need to increment the record sequence number by one for each detail record in the file. Ie. detail record 1 has record sequence number of 00001, detail record 2 has record sequence number of 00002.
    What type of data element would I set up? For this particular field, I don't need to go against a database field, I only need to keep track of the previous record's sequence number so that I can keep incrementing by 1 until all detail records have been written. The batch trailer has a record count of the number of detail lines and that works fine because I've set that up as a type 'total' with a 'count' of the detail records. I also have in the batch trailer a sum of the pay values from each of the detail records and that works fine as subtrailers allow total data elements where detail records do not.

    You can use any of the below mentioned 2 options in the ctl (Control) file:
    1. SEQUENCE(1,1)
    2. "xxcust_autoinv_seq.nextval"
    where xxcust_autoinv_seq is a database sequence.
    Thanks,
    Angelica.

  • Sequence number different in DB than from assignSequenceNumber()

    I am using TopLink 10.1.3 DP4 (I think - inside JDev build 3565). I am attempting to use a sequence in a schema that I DO NOT OWN - I cannot make modifications tot he database sequence because there are other applications in place running against it.
    The database sequence is in a 10g database, with an interval of 1 and a cache of 20.
    My object uses the value of the sequence as the sole element of its primary key. I am creating a new object, registering it with a UnitOfWork using registerNewObject(obj). It seems that this does not make a clone, since the object returned by this method is the same identity as the object passed in.
    My project sequencing policy is set as follows:
    <project-sequencing-policy>
    <sequencing-policy>
    <preallocation-size>1</preallocation-size>
    <sequencing-type>Use native sequencing</sequencing-type>
    <name-field-handle>
    <field-handle/>
    </name-field-handle>
    <counter-field-handle>
    <field-handle/>
    </counter-field-handle>
    <sequencing-policy-table></sequencing-policy-table>
    </sequencing-policy>
    </project-sequencing-policy>
    Platform is 10g
    <platform-name>Oracle10g</platform-name>
    The sequence is accessed through a synonym (since JDev couldn't seem to reference a sequence in a different schema from a user's login).
    <sequence-number-name>EVENT_SEQ_SYN</sequence-number-name>
    <uses-sequencing>true</uses-sequencing>
    When I commit my new object, I can see the insert statements in the log claiming a value of 'x' for the primary key. The row in the database actually has a primary key of 'y', where 'x = y - preallocation size' and 'y = sequence last number - preallocation size'. I think I would get the right number if I could set the preallocation size to 0 (performance problems understood) but TopLink chokes on this at run-time.
    Is this problem familiar to anyone?
    Failing using native sequencing, I tried to write custom SQL for the insert statement, but I couldn't find any decent examples anywere on how to do that. I found in a deep google search an example that showed you could use hash (#) to reference the value of a property, but what if the value that needs to be inserted in the database is held in an indirect referenced object? For example, if I was trying to write an insert sql for a Pet object with an indirect reference (valueHolder) to its owner, and I needed to put the owner id in the row - how would I write that insert statement in the 'custom sql' pane in workbench?
    Thanks for your help.

    Very strange case.
    I tried to reproduce it using TopLink Employee example - and couldn't.
    Here's the code:
        //  to get debug info
        session.setLogLevel(SessionLog.ALL);
        session.login();
        UnitOfWork uow = session.acquireUnitOfWork();
        Employee emp = new Employee();
        emp.setFirstName("sequencingTest");
        uow.registerNewObject(emp);
        uow.assignSequenceNumber(emp);
        uow.commit();
        System.out.println("firstName = "+emp.getFirstName() +"; id="+ emp.getId());And here's the log:

  • Sequence number in ADF FORM.

    hi All,
    I have a table with ID as primary key and have a sequence created for this primary key and have a trigger for generating sequence number while inserting the record in table.
    How can i map this Sequence in ADF so while inserting record from Form i can skip the ID column.
    Regards,

    I am using MySQL and primary key is auto incremented in my table. Therefore I have selected
    SQL Plateform     :     SQL92
    Data Type Map     :     Java
    When I am trying to create entiry object, I do not get option of selecting DBSequence. I did some documents reading, I found out that DBSequence is part of "*Java Extended for Oracle*" Data type Map.
    While creating the EO , in the Attribute Settings, I click the Browse and search for DBSequence. I found out oracle.jbo.domain.DBSeqence.
    Can someone please let me know that I am going to face any problem in future by using DBSequence in his manner?
    Thanks in Advance.
